Problem to connect to internet via USB - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi i have problem, that i don't know how to solve.
I'm really new to MDA phones.
I got HTC diamond and i want to connect to internet via USB cable.
I got installed WMDC 6.1
When i plug htc in and make second option (to use cable as file transfer only, internet works just fine, because htc connect through Edge (wich i don't like it to do))
But when pick up choise to ActiveSync internet will not work. Synchronization works fine... everything looks to works fine... file transfering etc. but internet don't work.
(in WMDC i have got checked Allow data connection, when connected to PC, but nothing happened)
(tried almost all combinations in WMDC in connection settings)
so im really desperate, cause i really dont know what to do

Allmost the same problem
I have this to when connecting to my XP pc at home through usb cable.
I am not able to get an internet connection then.
(this is activesync 4.5)
When I connect to my VISTA pc at work, everything works fine, out of the box.
Any suggestions ?

Internet Sharing Not Working

Can someone help me. I've been trying to connect my laptop through my Kaiser using internet sharing. All the connections have been made but the phone will not allow the connection to the internet just the local between laptop and phone. When I use my Kaiser alone the internet works great. What am I doing wrong?

I just tried this for the first time yesterday (usb) and it worked fine for me.
make sure active sync isnt running.
start up interent sharing, and hit connect before you plug the usb cable into your phone. If i dont do tha tthe connection fails sometimes. It should come up with 'check usb connection'. When it says that, plug in the usb cable, and you should be good to go.
I've tried the usb, but still the same thing; connection between Kaiser and laptop is fine but can't get access to the internet.

WM 6.1 | Dial up Networking

I browse the Internet on my laptop using to the GPRS/EDGE connection of my network provider and Internet Connection Sharing on my Kaiser.
I have been trying hard to establish a Dial Up Networking using either a Bluetooth or USB but with no success.
Bluetooth:
1. I make my laptop Bluetooth enable by using a BlueTooth dongle.
2. Pair the Kaiser and Laptop.
3. On my Kaiser, I cant see any service listed.
4. Though i can see that Win XP did detect a Bluetooth Modem and it installed it. When i "Query Modem" in my Control Panel for the BT modem, it does successfully query it.
5. I create a new Dial up connection and use this modem, however it never starts to connect to the GPRS.
I do have a Sony Ericsson T610, where i do exactly the same thing and the internet works like a charm.
Please can somebody explain me step by step process how to achieve this. I have read 100's of forums and imported many registry keys but it simply doesnt work. The same was the case with my Hermes(TMobile Vario II).
The ROM details are in my signature.
Thanks in advance.
Activesync?
last time i tried this, i used a USB cable and activesync was installed on my pc...it worked like a charm and the steps are oh-so-easy!!!
using a USB cable, follow these steps:
1. ensure the applications on your phone (web browsers, weather applications, etc) can use your data connection (edge/gprs) just fine
2. on your pc, you have to have either activesync installed (if you have windows xp) or windows device center (if you have windows vista)...i have only tried this with activesync so can't guide you further regarding vista
3. sync your phone and pc with activesync...just plugging in the USB cable on your phone and pc will usually get activesync going
4. on your phone, go to "Settings->Connections->Comm Manager" and hit the "Internet Sharing" button...a configuration page will open...select "USB" under "PC Connection" and whatever your data connection name is on your phone under "Network Connection"
5. hit connect!
now on your pc, check if the internet applications are working!
Note: it helps to disable ALL OTHER network interfaces on your pc from Device Manager

I dont want with Internet Connection Sharing. I want to use with Bluetooth Dial-up networking. Why? The reason is that with ICS, my screen glows permanently(even at the lowest bright option) and eats the battery. BT the screen will go off and still be connected.
True true...BUT!

that makes sense...BUT...the phone charges when it is connected to USB so Internet Connection Sharing worked well for me on my DESKTOP...but you have a laptop so it wouldn't make much sense in the long term to have your phone charge off your laptop's battery when you're on the go! i see your point!

Using the td2 for an internet connection for a laptop

I'm trying to set my laptop up to use the td2 to get a connection to the internet. can this be done either via bluetooth wiFi or USB. I have tried to add a bluetooth network connection but the laptop keeps giving an error saying could not connect to the remote device.
When I plug mine into my laptop via USB, I get an option on the device to 'internet share'. Does this not happen for you? I'm not sure whether Windows Mobile Device Center is also needed, but it may be!
I did this today using a Macbook. The USB did not work on the Mac but Bluetooth did. I had to connect to the phone from the computer using ordinary bluetooth first (without network). Then I had to choose Internet Connection on the phone using Bluetooth PAN - which I assume is Bluetooth network. Also had to select Bluetooth PAN on Macbook - was a bit fiddly but it worked. Anyway it does work with USB on the PC see post 16 of the thread here.
cheers both, i will check out the other thread but when I connect the phone via USB to this (work) laptop, I get nothing. My home one uses Vista and Mobile Device Centre, but my work one uses XP.
typically, after a reboot the phone gives of the option to shart internet sharing but the laptop wants to install a rndis connection, but the only way to do this is connect to internet. ironic.
Ok, finally have a proper Interenet connection and downloaded Activesync 4.5 from MS. This looks like it will resolve the situation.

USB will not connect to PC

When I connect the X1 via USB it charges the device but won't connect to either of the PCs I have tried.
I have disabled the Enhanced Activesync connections, changed from AS to external disk & tried the things that I can easily find.
Anyone got any ideas, I don't really want to send it away ?
Does your ActiveSync work?

Bluetooth

Hi,
I just bought a Bluetooth dongle for my PC. (Trust Ultra Small Bluetooth 2.1 Usb Adapter 25 M)
The main reasons for buying this was so I could sync without using one of my very spare USB ports.
Another big reason was that I really want to try SideShow.
So, I hooked the thing up, installed it. Works like a charm for most services (files etc). It just doesn't work for two things: ActiveSync (on the phone)/Windows Device Center (on my PC) and Windows SideShow. Yay.
Could you please help me out?
To summarize:
PC with Vista Home Premium,
Trust Ultra Small Bluetooth 2.1 Usb Adapter 25 M,
HTC S730.
Not working for ActiveSync nor SideShow.
x5x_tim
PS: I installed something called "X86-PC Drivers.cab" I found in some thread. That's supposed to be the drivers for the SideShow service on the PC. (I think I installed them, I did not get an error from Rundll32...)
EDIT: what might be of use: I can't get the devices to pair if I use the PC to initiate that. The PC does not find the phone untill I pair them using to phone to initiate.
I don't know about SideShow but I managed once to ActiveSync my Wings through Bluetooth. Just be sure to remove any security restricition on your Bluetooth settings on your device. Like Secure Connection etc... Also, setup a serial port when you connect with your PC and then, at PC ActiveSync settings, at connection settings -> Allow Connections To One Of The Following (Com 4 or whatever). And then, at ActiveSync on your mobile, connect through Bluetooth. Try it and come again if it doesn't work.
Yes! Thank you. It's syncing as I type. That COM4 did the trick!
In the same way, you can have Internet on your mobile through Bluetooth's activesync connection. It is helpful if you don't have wifi on your mobile.
