ive taken the liberty of creating a fantasy football league on the epl premier league site.
its free to play and so much fun.
to join simply got to h**p://fantasy.premierleague.com and create an account.
then create your team and on the right hand side click join league and add the following league code: 456856-188803
once youve joined plz reply bk in this thread.

yes...major league baseball...since this is the off topic forum, and spring exhibition games are just days away!
I invite all baseball fans to talk about their teams, likes, dislikes, views on specific players
..as everyon can see from my avatar, I am an AVID yankee fan, and am fairly confident 2009 = 27
even if we 'bought' our team, its the yankees being the yankees, hate it or love it (i love it)
and NO I am not a fan because of there extensive pay roll or all-star lineup

Even with your " bought team ", I will make some predictions. Burnett will turn into the Burnett the Jays wasted millions on. Sabathia will wilt under the pressure and media glare of New York ( ala Randy Johnson ), Hal and Hank are just idiots and will never measure up to Dad, No matter how much money they spend.
Joba will never live up to the hype, too much too soon. Alex will be dogged and distracted all year by steroids and Madonna. We will see how Teixeira plays now that he is a rich man, set for life and really has everything to prove, but nothing to play for anymore. Posada is done, Matsui is done. Damon is done.
And Girardi won't be able to keep the circus together, like Torre did.
Watching the RED SOX in the World Series will be tough for N.Y. but hey they must be getting used to it by now. Go Sox

nothing can be said on burnette and sabathia, except that ..YOUR WRONG haha...we will have to wait until the season begins, however, Burnette will be getting better run support which will lead to more wins, giving him better confidence, and check his stats, last year, 35 games 231SO 86BB, not so shabby, that 18w 10L will translate to 21-9, and sabathia, im going to say 23w - 7L
damon, done. this is true, cabrera will step up his season, if he doesnt then he goes bye bye, and he wants to stay in NY.
Matsui is still a quality hitter, if we already have a DH he will be a valuable trade option, perhaps up the bullpen. Joba has pretty much already proven himself. Phil Hughes, should take his job as set up man, unless there is a injury to the starting rotation. and Giradi has already done a hell of a job last season with the mess he was brought into

My new favorite show, and no, haven't read the books yet, so please keep spoilers to what we've seen over 9 episodes, with the finale this Sunday.

I usually watch the latest episode on Monday night, along with Treme. It's my second favourite night of the week after Friday!
Game of Thrones didn't really grab me at first but i'm certainly hooked now. I'm sure as good as it is that it loses a lot in translation from the books though.

Best death of the season was definitely the golden crown.

My stepdad just bought me the 4-book paperback box set for a present. He's so cool. Now I'm racing people to be ready for book 5 which gets released in a few weeks. Damn, I hope it doesn't ruin watching the series..."you die, and you, and you.." ;-)

Anybody on this Forum in the Military?

Like the title states... I'm pre-enlisting into the Marine Corps next summer, and I've recently gotten into XDA. I figured I'd try to find anyone else on this Forum in/joining the Military.

I almost signed up to the British Army when i was 16 and have always regretted not following through with it. In my work i have a lot of colleagues who are ex-military and they're all great guys. Every one of them deserve the utmost respect for serving their country.
If it's what you want to do, don't let anything stand in your way! Keep us updated with your news and hopefully in future you can tell us stories about your Boot-Camp and Tours of duty!

I'm also in the process of joining the USMC. I'm just waiting for my backround check to come in but its been two months already .. I think its because I had to put in a waiver but hopefully my waivers go thru ..

Why don't you try giving it another chance? Also, If I lived in Britain, I'd try going for their Royal Marine Commandos... Talk about bad ass!

That's great! What if we meet up? Haha. I'm gonna be going to MEPS in about a year, so hopefully all goes well. I'm only 16 right now, but I've been wanting to do this for a while now.

they don't have an age limit there? wow
anyway, i got counltess recruitment calls when i graduated from high school, said no, and they wouldn't take me anyway due to my ADHD and asbergers (believe me, i tried to sign up)

Waaay too old now!
I'm sitting next to a retired Ghurka atm and those guys are fearless. Most of them serve for 20 years or more and have seen combat all over the world. One of them, who is a serving soldier, is currently under investigation for cutting the head off a Taliban fighter.
Who needs guns!
Edit: I'm 'Thanking' everyone in this thread who is serving or joining up. It's the least a civvy could do!

UK does, I think its 16 or 18, 16 is when you can live on your own, married, etc. So I'm going with 16

Former Army - Military Police and Medical Service Corps (8.5 yrs)

My brother and grandfathers were in the USAF and the ARMY. I can't go in because of to many medical conditions. I respect every military member, op, thank you for the enlistment. Take care of your self.

When the military are used to police the civilians in their own country you know that something is wrong! Any soldier that raises a weapon to one of their own deserves everything that IS coming to them!

I was born in the military. My mom was in the Army and had me right before her Unit was deployed to Grenada or Panama or some place back then. She had the choice of signing me over to the custody of the US or get out of the military. My mom was born in the military, too. On one of the Naval bases in Hawaii. My grandpa was in the Marines. I got accepted in high school but backed out when a mess of things happened and none of my family wanted me to enlist, but rather go in after collage. Got rejected when I was 23 for enlistment and again when I was 25. Too much trouble making when I was a kid. Maybe we'll get in another world war and open the draft again. I'll join then, they won't reject me then.

Im thinking of enlisting in the airforce.....any thoughts?

You literally just pick players that you think are going to do good during this upcoming season. Each week you face off against somebody, and depending on injuries, or bad performances, or ect. You edit your team with your bench players, make changes, add free agents.
