Flashing with less than 50% - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

If you Hard-Slp your device:
You can flash from the memory by renaming your Ruu.nbh into HERAIMG.nbh after formatting your card. You might wanna back it up first.
Another method is to simply put the device in bootloader mode and connect the usb and runn the RUU tool.
Running under 5% can cause a brick if power dies. The device cant charge in bootloader mode.

Returning To Stock ROM/SPL withough USB?!?!?

Hi guys, got a problem here. Need to return my HTC Touch HD for warrant purposes, basically the USB connection doesnt work - it charges but nothing else, 3 PC's and 3 leads wont even acknowledge that its connected to a pc (yet it charges?!?).
To return it, i need to restore standard ROM and SPL but obviously because of the problem i cant connect it to a pc to flash!!
Any ideas appreciated!!
If you got HSPL you can copy the blacimg.nbh on sd card and let the bootloader flash.
Im not sure but i think it should be possible with non hspl if you flash a stock rom because spl/ipl are included to shipped roms.

As already said, you can flash the stock rom from your SD card, by copying the .nbh file into the root directory of your SD card and renaming it BLAC_IMG.nbh. Power device off, press and hold the volume down key, and press the power button to get into bootloader. The image file will be shown on the screen - just follow the instructions.
However, this will not flash the SPL as HSPL is protected from being overwritten. Not sure how you can get around this one without being able to use USB.
According to the HSPL thread, the HSPL is protected to be overwritten, so flashing SPL without the restoration pack in HSPL thread should not work.
I recommend you back up all your data and do a Hard Reset, then try to sync with your PC.
If it still not work, eject your SD card and try power on your phone while holding VolDown, this will enter the bootloader (tri-color screen). Connect the USB cradle, when the bottom of the screen shows "USB" instead of "Serial", launch the Stock-SPL restoration pack from the HSPL thread and follow the instructions.

Tried this but it still showed 'Serial' after i connected the USB lead!
Using the SD card method im gonna be able to get a stock ROM back on there so thats a start!
I've got HSPL not USPL
Anyone know how strict HTC UK are at checking warranty returns?
More issues!!! I cant even use the SD Card method, i formatted my card and copied BLACIMG/BLAC_IMG (2 guides named the file differently) to the root of the card, when i go to boot loader it says image not found. WTF???
The file must be named BLACIMG.nbh. Furthermore it seems that some cards don't work, so maybe you have bad luck .
But, as already said, this doesn't help you at all, as you need to restore the SPL, too, which isn't possible without an USB connection.
what was the outcome re your phone?

Cannot get serial to usb in bootloader

For some odd reason I can no longer get the the "serial" status to change to "usb". It charges but does not connect to activesync. I flashed many many times so I am not a noob at this but I might be making a noob mistake.
What I am using: SPL 1.54 (I use USPL 2.5). I am currently using Miri's v23 manilla 2.5. I am using the same pc (xp) and cables to flash.
What I've tried:
- used 3 different pc's and the original pc
- 4 different usb cables
- ticking/unticking the "enable faster data syncing" box in settings>connections>usb to pc
-ticking/unticking "allow usb connections" in activesync
-if I leave the cable in AND THEN put the phone in bootloader mode, the status is blank. When I remove the cable, it returns to "serial"
When the phone is on, it just doesn't seem to react (vista and xp)to the cable being plugged in. The led just shows that it's charging.
I pulled an all-nighter and I'm stumped.
Maybe you need to update the USB drivers. Same thing happened to me but it worked after updating the USB drivers as per this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524619
I forgot the most important part-
Since the pc does not recognize that there's something plugged in, I cannot select the "HTC USB Sync" under device manager and proceed with updating the drivers. I don't think I need to but at this point I'm trying everything.
Unless there's another way of updating drivers without the phone showing up on the device manager...
Updated the usb drivers by plugging in an old htc device. The pc was able to recognize the other htc device and was able to switch from serial to usb.
But after the update, there was no improvement for the blackstone status.
Anyone? The phone still doesn't recognize the usb cable whether the phone is on or in bootloader, it just charges.
Any help is appreciated!

Seems something wrong with your device. Try to hard reset and do it again?
Or if you still cant connect to usb. there is another way to upgrade without connecting to pc. After upgrade to new ROM, try it again whether it can connect to pc or not? Here is some tips for you.
Connect your SD card to PC through microSD card. Copy all files from your SDcard to new folder in your PC. Then, right click on the microSDcard disk-->full Format by FAT32 (this step is very important).
After formatting SDcard, copy back all files to SDcard . Rename .nbh to BLACIMG.nbh (for Blacktone) and copy it to SDcard.
Insert your SDcard back to Touch HD. Turn off your device by Power button.
Go to Boot loader mode. Push and hold Vol. Down + press Power button.
After that your device with have a white screen with text " Press to power button for continue upgrade" press power button and it will start upgrade Rom.
You can check this video for more practical actions on youtube.(this video for HTC diamond2 but it's almost the same with Blacktone just different in rename step)
Hope it helps and cheer
Thanks for the tips =)
I've did a hard reset twice and still no luck.
I've tried to flash through SD but since I use USPL, it just hangs when I try.
If I have SPL 1.54.0000, is there something that can be flash through the SD without USPL?

I have not tried this. I am on HSPL 1.56olinex but you can try my suggestion cause I think it's the only one you can choose now. I never ever use USPL. I think you can do it step by step and carefully.

HD7 update over usb hos mode always fail

I have HTC HD7 PD29100 half bricked.
After power phone on, phone starts and then it stuck on HTC logo with 7 time vibrating.
Every RUU that I try to flash I get error 226.
I'm able to enter bootloader.
Also I'm able to enter USB HOST MODE.
I made y-cable.
Now I have problem with update fail errors while flashing over y-cable and gold card.
I try with six diferent RUU_signed.nbh files that I extract from ROMs. But no lucky.Always same error.
What else could I try I dont have more idea?
Thanks
FAIL!!!
Maybe you can try a 1.X or 3.10 ROM
Also remember to rename the RUU to SCHUIMG.NBH (uppercase), and use a 1GB card.

[Q] How to unbrick my 4X - a question of life and death!

I have half-bricked P880. Bought just a week ago.
My ROM is stock V10C. I’m trying to get rid of that crap ROM, but so far without success.
I have rooted the phone but flashify is the only app saing that the phone is not rooted. Every other app which requires root is normally working. I can’t unlock the bootloader because phone can’t be recognized by any computer, using different Windows, USB cables etc. It just shows charging but PC doesn’t see any connected device. Nor the phone shows any connection option when I connect it to PC by USB.
I’ve tried to install TWRP (without success) and CWM (successfully) but the phone can’t be load into bootloader. Just an LG logo will appear and this error message:
[LGE_SECURITY ERROR] boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)
I think it’s still locked.
This method hasn’t help either…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251407
What’s more, the error message appears almost every time I try to turn on the phone. Sometimes it takes 10 attempts until the phone will finally boot into Android.
Yes I’ve tried basic things like playing with USB debug mode, LG PC suite option/USB tethering… please don’t respond to my question by that kind of suggestions, I’m no rookie in flashing roms and Android problems.
Only hope for me is to flash kdz file via PC (when the phone is off and battery out). BUT I’m unable to do that, due to problem that the phone is again NOT RECOGNIZED by PC. Of course I've tried every kind of LG driver but the problem is in the phone, because the PC won’t even notify by sound that a phone has been connected to it. So I need to change the corrupted bootloader… somehow.
I’ve already searched everything to this issue on XDA and elsewhere - without any solution. So I’m 95% the phone is half-bricked without any chance to flash new ROM.
If none of those things that you said doesnt work, as last resort you should try this

Thank you for a quick reply! However the autor of the method says:
i mean when you get stucked with S/W screen, and you can't flash the device in any way

In my case I can't say that I'm stuck with S/W screen. Because I don't even get in there. Any PC in my home (XP/Windows 7) don't even recognize that a mobile has been connected to it. So there is no S/W screen. The only way I can get in S/W screen is to keep the battery in, but it doesn't solve anything. Because the phone remains unrecognized to PC. Therefore I'm unable to flash anything. A simple explanation in here arose: the USB port in my phone is faulty. BUT, how that can be, when the USB charging works fine and even S/W screen appears while the battery is in?
Either way I'll keep your suggestion as the final solution(since I'm very skeptical of it and also dont have screwdriver small enought to take out those tine srews) if there will be no other responce to my problem.
I'm not very experienced in things like this, but when I was flashing kdz to my phone, my computer wasn't able to recognize the phone with battery out, so I did whole process with battery in (and it worked)
anyway if you want to unlock the bootloader you have to update to official JB (just flash JB kdz and then wipe data in LG recovery to prevent bootloop)
so first you have to connect somehow your phone in sw mode to computer
then flash JB kdz and wipe data in LG recovery (it should be back even if you've flashed twrp)
and finally root JB and unlock bootloader (for example this way I found by two clicks here at xda, just browse Optimus 4x general category: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251407 )
I hope I helped you a bit
I agree with you SuperLamic. Especially with this:
so first you have to connect somehow your phone in sw mode to computer

My only hope is to flash kdz file using fastboot mode. However after days of searching on XDA, installing all kinds of drivers, trying different methods etc., I'm still unable to connect my phone to PC.
Any PC I tryied so far haven't even made a sound while pluging my LG to it. Nor it's vissible in the list of connected USB devices.
So now I'm sure that a USB port on my phone is faulty There is no other possible explanation. But thank you all for your suggestions anyway.
P.S.
There is maybe a tiny chance for workaround by unlocking the bootloader without PC. But this method doesn't work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2251407 With unlocked bootloader I woud be able to solve the problem without PC. Right now I can't install TWRP nor CWM because they require bootloader to be unlocked. CWM in ROM Manager always says that installation was successful but actualy, it wasn't. Since there is always this error when I try to load recowery mod...
[LGE_SECURITY ERROR] boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)
EDIT:
So I find out that only JB ROMs can be unlocked. It's not possible with my stock ICS. So there is really only one solution: repair my USB port on LG to flash kdz. But I'm afraid that these days a repair will cost more than the phone itself :[

Can' access bootloader nor recovery...

Hi,
I have a major issue since the update to CM13.0-20160524-NIGHTLY-huashan. I litteraly spent the whole week trying everything I found on internet in order to solve it without success.
My problem is the following one: I uninstalled the gapps to manually update it for the latest version of Android (Android 6.0.1), when I tried to boot to the recovery nothing happened the phone just restart, same when trying to boot to the bootloader. I tried everything adb reboot recovery adb reboot bootloader, I tried flashtool, I used the developper options to reboot to recovery, I tried manually by holding the volume button while restarting, I tried the flashify application. Nothing, I am not able in anyway to access neither the recovery nor the bootloader. The phone is just restarting, the led is first blue then goes red then green then red and restart. However, I have a root shell on the phone with adb shell.
If anyone have a solution, can help me please do it. An Android phone without the gapps is quite useless.
Thank you very much,
same problem,my phone is now without working android (after i tried instal CyanogenMod 13.0 Unofficial SaberMod.....still loading cyanogenmod logo) and without working fastboot and recovery so im lost :/
Hello, since the LED bar lights up this means your device is soft bricked, in which, mostly are recoverable.
What interests me is that you tried to, quote, "uninstall gapps".. If you previously have gapps, you don't need to "uninstall" gapps in order to update to the next build. Just flash the new build zip and gapps will be preserved. Also I am quite skeptical about what you did, as I never heard of a way to actually uninstall gapps. Basically if someone wants to remove gapps, he needs to format the System partition and then flash the ROM zip again..
Are you sure you failed to boot into flashmode? the correct procedure to do so is
Make sure the device is turned off
Make sure the USB cable is connected to your PC
Hold the volume DOWN button
Still holding the button, insert the USB cable to the XSP
LED will light up green, indicating flashmode
But even so, since you are on an unlocked bootloader, recovering from this brick is rather easy.
Get yourself a TWRP img file from the TWRP basketbuild folder
Open flashtool
Make sure the device is turned off
Make sure the USB cable is connected to your PC
Hold the volume UP button
Still holding the button, insert the USB cable to the XSP
LED will light up blue, indicating fastboot mode
On flashtool, click the lightning icon and select fastboot mode
On the right of the new window that appears, select "Select kernel to flash"
Navigate to your TWRP img file and select it
When flash completes, unplug your XSP from the USB cable
This will flash TWRP into /boot partition. So when you start your device, it will go straight to recovery.
Now, flash the ROM zip
Thanks for your help TechnoSparks, however, as I told you and expected even following your exact procedure my phone just restart. The led brights up bleu for few seconds then the phone put itself in charging mode. And when I said I delete the gapps, I meant that I deleted the google play store from my phone (this app was anyway not working after update). I tried to use flashtool but it is the same, can't get into fastboot mode, the phone just normally starts or put itself in charge. Isn't a manual solution on how to flash a recovery only using adb shell?

That seems to be related to your USB cable (since that is the famous issue). Can you try to charge your phone WITHOUT it stop charging (i mean suddenly the LED disappears and when you tap the screen the charging icon doesnt show)?
If it so does happens that your device doesnt want to charge, it seems to me that you are having a loose USB port which possibly from your XSP, or, your USB cable is no longer up for the challenge
You will need to find another reliable USB cable for you to try. Try to charge your XSP to see if that particular USB cable is reliable for you. Try to wiggle the wire a little bit, moving the XSP from different directions and see if it would still charge. If it still charge, then this is the USB cable for you to use. Do the mentioned steps above again.
If you insist and want to use the same USB cable, you will need to find a "sweet spot" so that the connection between your XSP and the USB cable will remain reliable.
