looking for application to be able to toggle 3g service - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

i am looking for a application or a tweak so that i can turn off the 3g service when i am not browsing the internet
do let me know if anyone can help

Most comm managers on the newer roms have a switch for 3g. I think there are a few comm managers in .cab format floating around as well. Check the dowload links in the wiki.

yea kaiser software forum...diamond comm manager does the trick and its new..toggles everything

Search for 'kaiser tweak' or 'advanced config' one of these allows you to disable 3g or HSDPA via comm manager, the other lets you set a timeout so it will discon when idle.
Handy for me as I have direct push via GPRS which saves battery and when I want to use the net, one click and I can activate 3g or HSDPA for browsing.

Comm Manager for Kaiser

Can you easily turn the wifi, 3G, and GPRS radios on/off on the Kaiser or do you have to install a special program to be able to do that? Are there any good comm manager programs out there?
I have one from t-mobile uk and the comm manager that is installed on mine gives you
Flight Mode
Ability to switch phone off and on (without using flight mode)
Bluetooth
Wlan
Microsoft Direct Push
Data Connection
Ringer
Internet Sharing
and ActiveSync
all these can be switched on or off within the comm manager that comes bundled with it.
The gprs can be switched of simply by clicking the icon and it will give you an option to turn it off
Hope this helps
The Kaiser has a commanager, there just isn't a dedicated button for it like there is on other devices. You have to go in to programs in the start menu and click on Comm Manager to activate it.
As you get comfortable with installing cabs and editing the registry, you can get a different comm manager. I use Schen's 10 button comm manager which does have seperate 3G and connection break buttons. Read and learn, this site is the best!

Disable 3g/gprs/hsdpa on tytn ii

I have a Tytn II on UK Orange. I intend to use the wifi intesively with my Exchange server for push email etc , but when I am not in a wifi zone I dont want it to automatically use any of 3g/gprs/hsdpa.
I may sometimes need to use them (hopefully activating 3g manually) if I am out and about.
I can disable hsdpa, but cannot find a way of disabling 3g/gprs without deleting the profiles in connection manager (which would mean I would have to create the profile again everytime I wanted to use it out of the office).
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Tom
i cant quite remember, but is there and option to do this in kaisertweak?

You gave yourself the answer.
What happens if you created another profile that is empty instead of deleting?

Hi dude
if your intend is only to not allow to any apps to automatically use your data connection but only the wi-fi try in this way:
settings -> connections (or networks, i'm not english, sorry!) -> connections -> advance -> network selection, and there put "office network" in the both options! In this way all your apps never use your provider data connection!
I don't know how to manage different profiles, as you said, however an other way to control the connections is by installing this CommManager or look this other one with the 3G button, so you can manually turn it on/off!
hope to help you!

Just an update that the application does work on my O2 XDA Stellar. You can toggle the connections on and off as and when you require just by a single click.

Schen's 10 Button 3G Comm Manager??

Can someone attach this or point me in the direction to the download?
Or anything like this would be great! (Preferably with these buttons)
I think that is also called "duttythroy 3g comm manager (working).cab"?! cos this is what I installed on my TyTN and the comm mgr looks the same.
I also think that CAB is available via this forum.
Comm Manager
I installed this and now my comm manager is comletley screwed it only shows 1 icon the active sync icon I uninstalled it and it was stil lthe same it even screwed up the HTC home ! Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this ?
Try Schap's Advanced Configuration tool. Allows you to control the buttons on your Comm Manager. Available here via search.
Same Issue When using Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool... if any button is increased it only shows one button (ACTIVE SYNC) Button
Try going into task manager & stopping the comm manager first. Make sur it's not running as a process.
Then try this: http://rapidshare.com/files/42771601/JUVS_HTC_CommManager_Kaizer_Fix.cab (Standard)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44284&d=1184759208 (+3G Button)
After installing, but before launching it, Use the Configuration tool to make sure it shows everything, then reset & launch the comm manager.
Did you guys soft reset... that's probably the problem. If you guys did, then I advise uninstalling the Comm manager, soft reset, then installing it, then soft reset again.
BTW, that's the best comm manager I have ever used, it still lets you use the Wifi turn on and off button ony our keyboard.
I use this version of Schen's 10 button manager on my Kaiser. There is one reg setting needed to fix the wi-fi power key;
Fix WLAN Key function in Comm Manager
You can fix wifi with this registry setting :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN
[Default]=”\Windows\WLanMgr.exe"
[DeviceName]="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETW12511"

Which one?
I've just tried this, and I get the new 3G button appearing in the comms panel (with the word 3G underneath, but no icon showing) but it doesn't seem to do anything - should it? I'm running the stock T-mobile Vario III ROM at present.
Oh, and talking of that Wi-Fi on/off function on the keyboard, does anyone know if that, and the 'open folder' key (Fn+RightArrow), can be reassigned? The Wi-Fi one might be handier to use as a Bluetooth on/off function for me, and the 'open folder' key calls File Explorer by default but I'd prefer it to call Total Commander if possible.

Comm Manager 10 - 3G issue/question
I loaded this version, fixed the WiFi registry entry and all worked. After turning off 3G, my phone still functioned. After turning ON 3G, my phone failed to connect and showed no service (due to the fact that I am out of a 3G zone). It appears that this forces 3G mode when it should force AUTO imho. A load of a Version 2.4.3 Band Switch allowed Auto to be re-enabled. See latest Band Switch posts at http://www.ipmart-forum.com/

I do see the same thing with the 3G switch, it's 3G or nothing where it should be "Auto". I too added "Bandswitch" 2.4.3, now a commercial app, and find it good as a enhanced comm manager.

just a quick question...

have any of you seen a "data" tab under phone settings? (it terminates any active internet connection when the phone goes into standby.) i had it with one of dutty's older roms but on his two newest roms that "data" tab is not there anymore. do any of you guys know a registry tweak or a program that would bring that tab back? my phone just drains the battery when its connected to the internet without me knowing (to receive email.) i have searched for it on google and all over the wiki but i haven't had any luck with how to enable it. thanks in advanced for your response.
look on the forum for modaco nodata cab
it lets you toggle the available connections

thanks for your help but i found what i was looking for i searched the registry of one on of the roms that had it active and just copy the registry name and value. here it is how to do it in case you are interested: Search for "PhoneSetting" on any registry editor and if the key "ShowPDPPage" is not there add it on as a DWord and set the value to 1. then using the Advanced Config tool scroll all the way until you see GPRS auto attach (under Data Connections) and set it to Disable, if its not disabled the connection will not disconnect even when the phone goes into standby mode.

How to hack TF3D to have 2G/3G setting appears on the setting tab?

I used it once, but I reset my machine recently and can't find the post for doing that now.
Thanks in advance.
I used the Diamond Advanced Config program from this forum
Under Menu, more settings, comm manager
I find my signal is improved with 3g turned off
