I am really struggling with this phone!
Yes it looks great.. and the 3d touch flo looks great.
But the blo*dy thing is crap at doing what it is designed for... being a phone.
When trying to get it going after it has been sleeping it can take an age... totally unresponsive...
I need a phone to work properly and not just sit there and look shiny!
I have added the enhancements and am using the Elite 2.0 rom..
Cheers

Blimey last poster you really don't read things before you post your sharp responses do you?! That's at least two from you today. Seems to be quite the habit on this forum which is depressing for a new person on the block (like me).
At original poster, if what I think you mean is you want to use it to call straight away after waking it up - I share your frustration. It does seem to take a while before I can get it to call out after sleeping and I've used HTC, Elite and TLR roms and it's all the same for me.
What network are you on maybe that has something to do with it - I'm T-Mob.
another useless, whiner thread...
what's the question? now we know that u r not satisfied with the diamond. now what? what's the drama? send it back for a refund.
this is not a wall to graffiti slogans and complains.

What you see as useless other see as interesting and usefull.
I am thinking of buying this phone as i'm fed up with waiting for the i900 Omnia and this thread has been usefull. Now, thanks to reading this thread I am warned about slow "wake-up" of the Diamond and now more hesitant, almost to the point of not buying it.
Sadly though, you seem to judge everyone else by your own standards.
Ericsson68 was indeed trying to be helpfull by two things:
1; confirming that he too has a slow "wake-up" e.g its not he op's phone itself
2; Offering a possible explanation "What network are you on maybe that has something to do with it - I'm T-Mob. "
No one is forcing you to read these posts and no one is forcing you to write a pointless reply. It is often said by wise people (and those with friends!), if you have nothing constructive so say, don't say it.
So Erricsson and TrevorM, thanks guys! You've highlighted to me that this phone may have an issue, even with the latest roms applied, in that its slow to wake up. This is EXACTLY the reason i'm here along with many others!

Dude listen the way i see it is that if you havent got anything useful to say or post then refrain from doing so. People are going to complain no matter what you or anyone else says. Like Monty says people have different ideas as to what is good for them and what isnt...fact of the matter is everytime i see you post...your always having a pop at someone who asks a question or slates the phone. Do you actually own HTC??...because sometimes your posts come across as a HTC fanboy...so what if people are saying the phone is useless/rubbish.
I'll say this about the Diamond, i love it but its hard work getting everything to run as you want it to. Personally HTC have alot to answer for, their QC testing is quite frankly crap and rubbish. They were in such a hurry to get this phone out...it seems like their engineers/designers fell asleep for a few months. The stock rom has too many niggles and problems with it, thankfully we have a place like this where we have some excellent guys who are making the Diamond a more enjoyable product due to their new roms. I swear if places like this didnt exist...HTC wouldnt be in business for much longer.
With regards to the OP, as i said before the phone is hard work...sometimes i struggle to do anything with it but i still love it. Perhaps try the TLR rom...its much faster and seems more smoother. AS for the sleeping issue??...it does take a few secs to get it back up and running but i can live with that...its not like it takes forever...well mine doesnt feel like that.

i gave you a hint. you didn't get it. keep on spamming.
Since when is the forum becoming a customer review of phones ?
I see already a thousand threads about the things that the Diamond does not fulfill. If you start reading them it is amazing what people whine about! "My phone does not react instantly after waking up", "My phone does not go to vibrate when I flip ip when it rings", "my phone is not the chickmagnet HTC promised it to be, I stil do not have a girlfriend" ...
So you use the title "poor performance" and then that is your strongest statement to back this up ??? nice one mate!
@Monty
Buy the phone, play with it, use it and then decide! What other people think might not always apply to you. I do not even have much issues with the battery.
If your want your phone to fly you to the bahamas then I suggest you buy yourself a plane.
This is at this moment the best phone you can buy! no doubt about it, I had the iphone for a week and then got this one. Now I only use the iphone for cutting bread on!

Kukuirukuwuay: 1 post is hardly spamming and tbh, if thats the best most informed response you can come up ... you should maybe try the American "whatever", at least that has comedy value.
MisterSosa, it does have reviews of it and so what? Peoples(Owners reviews) and more importantly, there day-to-day comments and experiences are vital. Its these bug reports/issues/compliments/"wow look at this feature" posts that help some people decide and whats wrong with that? Like it or not HTC does not make perfect gear, if it did, there would be no need for this site. The bugs people discuss on here are read by the people who create ROM's and sometimes fixed by them. TBH, I wouldn't be suprised if there are HTC developers on this site everyday. I certainly know that Toshiba devs monitor myg900.com
I do agree with you 100% that people see phones diferently and whilst it works for one, it won't work for another. That said, to be "the best phone you can buy!" would take some doo'ing! My experience with HTC hardware (not software) is that this is unlikely to be the case purely on reliability, 10 months down the road it will probably develope hardware failures just like my previous 3 HTC phones (and that doesn't include the factory replacements). Also, "best" depends entirley on your needs. I'm still tempted to wait for the Omni as it will have a 5mp camera built in to it, something that doesn't seem to of sunk into HTC yet! Not to say I won't buy this, I like the form factor and the screen res (im used to 800x480 so this would only be a small downgrade).
However, I now consign myself to the fact that HTC phones only last at most a year and IF I buy this, it will be with that in mind.
This site in particular and similar sites do indeed help people choose there next phone - assuming they are informed enough to look for sites like this and even the OP's post is usefull. Read into it his frustration: Can you not see that his post is actually a complement? It says to me that the OP thinks its an awesome phone .... except this one really minor but pain in the arse thing, the wake-up delay.
Yes your right, i could buy it and then send it back if I don't like it (assuming the shop are going to allow me, they don't have to) but how many times am I going to do that before I get told to get stuffed by the shop(s)? Also, I may also not discover everything I need to about the phone in the two weeks, usualy accepted by shops here in the uk, that I need to and then i maybe stuffed with a phone I don't want.

Completely and utterly wrong...this is a forum, it may very well be a developer forum but as of yet i havent heard any of the moderators in here say that we cannot give any opinions/views on what we think of the phone.
Crikey!!!
Didn't expect this kind of response.
Maybe it is useful for the DEVELOPERS to know how things are working (good or not)??
I have had any number of phones over the years - WinMo HTC, non HTC, Symbian etc. and this is the first one that I am really struggling with.
It is correct to say that it is hard work to get the equipment operating smoothly. The problem I have with that is, even after applying improved ROMS, performance enhancements, registry tweeks etc. the basic function is simply not working correctly. Why does it take so long for the phone to become ready for use?
Maybe a vanilla ROM will improve things, but then again I am left with a shiny shell which is a good phone (I may as well buy a cheap nokia!!).
I would be interested to know if other Diamond users are experiencing terrible lag, long delays and unresponsiveness..
Cheers

Where is the lag/delay in this story ?
ever try to close the running applications since the first time you turned it on ?
Thanks ... what ROM are you using - which enhancements have you applied?
Cheers

Sorry to hear that Monty, as you can see by my signature I have owned all manor of HTC phones and i havent had to send most of them back (admittidley the C500 had to have the rocker stick repaired on mine and my girlfriends phone but I dealt with HTC direct as orange didnt want to know and HTC were very helpful and within 5 days I had the phone back)
I don't suffer from the lag that a few people in this thread are mentioning.
Ive got a WWE Touch Diamond with Rom Version 1.37.405.1 WWE, ROM Date: 06/10/08 Radio Version 1.00.25.03 and im on tmobile UK. My TouchFLO 3D version is 1.0.1630.23.
Ive NOT applied ANY tweaks to my phone at all, no registry edits, hacks or Rom updates and my phone works without lag when trying to make a phone call.
How long does your take, in secs, from when you have pressed the power button at the top to wake the phone up to when you press the Phone button (the left phone softkey?)
Where do you experience the problem? Do you find its when you use TouchFLO 3D? Or can you goto ALL PEOPLE from the PEOPLE TAB on TouchFLO 3D and its still laggy?
Sorry to hear your having problems guys but this forum is here to help you.
Thanks .. I see you are using an uncooked rom. Have you applied any of the registry tweeks etc.?

I just got the AT&T Tilt last Friday and have found myself pondering if it was worth the $300.00? I am thinking about taking it back because it seems to buggy. The phone its self is good looking but WM6 is just ugly compared to the iPhone interface. Anyways what do you think?
If aesthetics are you main concern, sure go with an iPhone. I like functionality over appearance, so I love my tilt!
yes it worth it, there is soooooo many apps that u can add, you can even upgrade from that cingular rom, i havent seen anyone with my tilt yet
Now come on... this is getting beyond a joke....You have an At&T Tilt, not a 'HTC TyTnII'
Please disclose your business affiliations as I am POSITIVE you are associated with apple as this is getting really stupid!
Who buys a very expensive phone without research then suddenly comes on this forum and denouces it within a few weeks without really trying it??
I am amazed!!!
OH, BTW I am not associated with HTC in any way and I find it a 100% piece of kit for what I wanted.
Amazing how many times you see "is it worth it to me" on forums. Who else but you could possibly answer if it's worth it to you???
hahahaha good point, Farsquidge......iphone=downgrade
First off I do not work for AT&T!!! I am a high school student that spent alot of time doing research on this phone! I love my "'HTC TyTnII" or whatever you want to call it! I only called it the Tilt for the simple fact that its branded name is the AT&T Tilt. This has to be the most unfriendly forum I have ever been on!
Dude you need to chill out. Swearing will get you banned. Everyone has their opinions about the iPhone and the Tilt. If you don't like someone else's opinions, just ignore them.
Personally I love the Tilt. The iPhone just doesn't do enough for me. Yes, it has a very nice interface but in the end, function wins over form.
If you want a pretty phone, go with the iPhone. If you want one that you can easily hack and tweak and load tons of 3rd party apps on, get the Tilt, but it is your choice to make, not ours to make for you.
In the end, you have to live with your choice.
P.S. I absolutely love my Tilt. It runs rings around the iPhone and I don't have to worry about Steve Jobs making my life difficult by not letting me do what I want with it.
Thank you. I think I will stay with my Tilt.

Please don't give up.. I know some of us (me for one!) can be a little short tempered with what is around on this forum at the moment (flaming the device!) but all of us on here would like to try to help you futher your unit!
I am sorry if I seemed to shoot you down at the start...
Let's move on from that...
You say you have a 'Tilt', first thing we can recommend is re-flashing your ROM to a HTC TyTnII as the AT&T is a very basic firmware but when you do this you will lose your AT&T settings ( that is your 3G HSDPA connection). Then you will need the latest Network settings cab.. Then lets move on from that!!! OK?
There are so many different roms witch is the one I need to use?
True, there are many. I like the att rom. it's not that bad. i just removed all of the bloatware on it by doing a soft reset after the hard reset and that freeed like 20 mb or so. btw, if you want to run different roms on the tilt, you must cid unlcok your tilt.
We need a few bits of info to start you off.
First, tell us the device (I know it may seem strange but we need to know who you bought it from ie At&T or whatever as this forum is worldwide!!)
Then when you first turn on the phone (turn it off by holding the power button!) try to get the OS and Radio versions it has. You may need to do this a couple of times as it disappears quickly.
If I am not online you will find loads of guys willing to help....
You have come into a great community that will work with you so long as we get the correct info...
I bought it from an AT&T store. The numbers are R1.27.12.11 G22.445.88.07h D1.57.00.00.
I need the same help here, thanks in advance
I will follow this thread since I have the same phone, same radio and OS, I'm very interested in getting a better ROM to see what are the PROS.
OK guys, have a good read at the WiKi...
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
Especially at the 'How to flash a new ROM' section. It will give you a good aspect of what you will be doing..
I should have my tilt in a few days ( Amazon is the worst!). So I have been going around trying to gather as much information as possible on how customize my phone....Farsquidge, if I change my tilt interface to the TyTn11 interface I will lose my 3g? Also what is the benefit of changing? Also, I met alot of people who told me of good apps for my phone but is there a site where I can go where there is alot of apps with discriptions of what they do?

If you re-flash your 'Tilt' (as it is an AT&T carrier device) you will lose your AT&T connection settings.
You will end up with a 'Carrier free' device with (or) without sim unlock depending on the way you do it. You will then have to re-install these with a 'Network profile app' from this forum. You will find plenty of apps (in the form of .cab files) on here to keep you happy for ages!
Be patient because there are tons of guys on this forum who have reflashed their devices that will add their input to help you. No one is online all the time but will get to you when they can.
Thanks. The more I look on different forums, the more confused I get. I'm not to phone/computer savy so I have to do some research on the simple words and terms used up here. Thanks alot.
It takes a long time to get up to speed, I'm not close yet. Personally, I don't have a problem with the ATT rom, I guess b/c I haven't seen a flashed one to compare it to. I've added a bunch of fun/useful programs from this site, FFF and IMSMS are great ones and all the home customizations are very cool. The other day, I was beaming IMSMS to a friend. A stranger passing says "oh are we showing off our phones?" and yanks out his iphone hoping we'd be impressed. I said, "nope just beaming a file, do you want it too? Oops, guess you can't do that" You could see him deflate immediately. The iphone is neat to look at, but is so lacking in features and customization it's sad.
Hi all, i'm a noob here and would firstly like to say hi to everyone and well done to all concerned for the content and information found here... I have had my phone for less than a week and already it has been flashed with a new ROM
I have read with interest numerous threads and petitions about the HTC graphics problems. I read something earlier where someone said they had contacted HTC about this issue and pointed HTC to this forum (as I am sure alot of people have done). My question is as follows.....If HTC decide to come on here and look at the site to gather information/have a look at what people are saying about the graphics issue...what do you think they make of all the threads containing their software that is freely available for download?
I would be concerned that they may a little upset and try to force the software to be taken off??? Maybe I am missing something and the software is freeware but I doubt it very much.
I suppose my question could extend to things like ROMS etc with other mnfrs software on it also.
Anyway apologies if this is a somewhat random post but I was just wondering...and before anyone asks...NO I AM NOT AN HTC EMPLOYEE Or do I wish to cause any friction.
Chris
Welcome, HTC.
Yes welcome HTC! If you would make your Products perform properly right out of the box I wouldnt have to spend hour on hour cooking new ROM's or extracting apps from one device to port to another. Maybe one day you will wake up and see that you could be the best PDA provider out there if it not for one small issue! You leave us hanging on important things and leave it up to us to fix your mistakes so please HTC get your sh*t together and blow my mind with the next device!
PMSL...You guys really think I from HTC???? I can see this turning into a major flaming for me If that's what everyone now thinks.
I can assure you that I am not, but I guess that is going to be difficult to prove once everyone thinks I am.
I wonder if a job at HTC would be better than my current employment

It's not only bug fixes from guys like you faria but the forum also provides a completely cost free customer survey/opinion base of product performance, enhancements and application inclusions.
Up until now though, I don't think they have had enough incentive to fix past issues because they thought the complaints were not serious enough to effect future sales.
They definately have reason to worry this time....

IMO - Having switched from an Eten x500 to the TYTN II/Kaiser I personally would not recommend it over a Kaiser. My experiences of it in a year of use how been far exceeded by 1 week of use with my TYTN II.

...or is it just me? Some are really, really nice, but all seem to have one fundamental flaw for me. They suck at dialing. I could see if it happened once in a while, but about 1/2 the wrong digit, despite using just the tip of my finger. God forbid I actually use the pad of my finger.
For instance... I'll go for the 2, but get an 8 or 0 or something equally ridiculous. Of course, if I use the stylus, I don't have any issues.
I'm past the point of thinking it's a dialer software problem. I was thinking it might be a sensitivity issue, but it has been this way with every ROM I've tried, and regardless of where I put the sensitivity setting.
Is anyone else experiencing this? I don't have the same issue with my girlfriend's Treo 750. The touch screen on that dials just fine, both with the stock ROM and the 6.1 WWE version we're running now.

I've posted, and see posted, stuff like this before in the Kaiser main forum, and have seen people complain that it's in the "wrong forum". Where do you propose I put this? One though is that it's a ROM issue, because other programs touch features work just fine.
...and I did search. I did a search for "dialer wrong number" and "inaccurate dialer". The only thread I found that was relevant was this one, which turned out to be a ***** fest.
This is a grey area, so for you to just call this thread out "is disappointing".

Dialers would be a software issue, and i'm confident this thread will eventually be moved either to Kaiser Software or Kaiser general. Honestly i believe the issue is that a lot of the dialers are actually ported from other devices. Most of them were not designed for the Kaiser originally. The stock dialer that comes with the AT&T rom actually performs much better in my option than any of the dual touch dialer, which is the most common dialer to find in cooked roms. Just my opinion, I should have posted this in my post. My apologies.

No, if you feel this should honestly be in another thread, then you should say so. If, like you say, it is an issue with ported dialers, then it belongs here, as the cooks using these dialers should fix the issue.
Absolutely nothing of value to add??? Maybe you shouldn't post. If you want to get your post count up, i recommend that you spend time learning, and then post helpful suggestions to other users who have questions.

Guess we'll see Dialer actually have nothing to do with rom development. They are just an add-on software that people change as they see fit.

Enough....back to top of the thread.
I have GIANT fingers. MOD EDIT: Congratulations! ... and I have no problems dialing. Also, I have issues trying to see the screen while I am driving MOD EDIT: Glad you have a license! ...so I use voice dialing more often while driving.
MOD EDIT: Watch what you're posting! First and last warning!
try this dialer skin
Your aren't alone with this.....but i found a great dialer skin below that works even with pad touch! Hope this helps.

all touch screen dialers for any phone can't be perfect. It takes a lot of practice aiming your fingers to find the sweet spot on these dialers.
It shouldn't take any practice. I'm a first aid attendant and if I have to toss my phone at someone so they can call 911 while I have to perform an intervention, they shouldn't have to practice.
Crap, I just about called 911 by accident when I tried to call 611 yesterday.
I don't care who people want to say is responsible, cooks or people who port; I'm near ready to go back to an OEM ROM.

Totally agree.
When i call in a hurry i almost always get at least one digit wrong.
It is really frustrating.

maybe you ought to worry more about the practicality of the phone you're using given your circumstances.

Sorry, but I have to ask....
Should we be "Tossing" our Kaisers?????
Just seems to me if you have to "Toss" this wonderful phone, that I hope you have the insurance plan on it in case the person your tossing it to doesn't catch it.
The Diamond dialer linked above, combined with editing the registry to increase the TouchPanel sensitivity to 5000, makes it very easy to dial with huge thumbs like mine.
I raised a similar thread a while back based on trying to make the Kaiser more finger friendly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376271
My top suggestion for you is to install Finger-Friendly Friends http://www.jotto.no/fff/ which is so quick to find contacts with fat/clumsy finger usage. It obviously doesn't remove the issue of when you want to dial a new number, but I highly recommend you try it out.

Sometimes literal can be a simile for anal. Let's not become too much of either and use a bit of common sense instead.
For the other fellow above:
As for my choice in phones, it may be a toy for you, but it's my PIM and life organiser (I have adhd, so a good PIM is like a second Rx) and it's also a phone. If it can't function properly as a phone, then I should just buy an iPhone, or a Nokia. Or stick to OEM softs.
XDA seems to be filled with people who think they can cook a ROM better than HTC or AT&T, and yet there's this dialer issue.
Not trying to insult anyone in particular, just asking, what gives?
If anyone has a useful link to a dialer that works well, with nice big buttons AND smart dial, please speak up.
If we were in a ROM/app release thread, there would be an effort to keep the thread on topic and keep posts useful. I don't feel you two gentlepersons have been terrible useful.

Yes, I've tried it. Very nice app. Unfortunately I can't foresee all the numbers I need to all for the next day/week/month... so a functional dialer would still be useful.
I also wonder if the increasing sensitivity of the touch screen for touchflo/iclone apps contributes to dialer suckiness... Anyone confirm this?
The Diamond has been with me ever since it was released in June, but there always seems to be this or that issues with every ROM release.
I'm considering the E71 as a replacement...but also trying to hold off on the purchase to see will the Diamond improve anytime soon.
Issues with my Diamond:
Accelerometer
Alarm sound not repeating
Memory leak
why everybody that think about changing the diamond feel the urge to announce it in a new thread that is coming to become a mess like all the same threads on the same subject? why? you are a senior member, you should know better.
i recommend you to read this:

and afterward do what u please. no big deal...good luck!
please keep the forum clean!
I "Should"? "Senior" member doesn't mean jack as it's only post count related.
I don't see why that thread is recommended...maybe I'm missing something?

and... ? This was so important that you had to open a new post?
Buy E71 and Good Bye Or maybe I should try to convince you not to do it or something
I will open a new post tomorrow saying what I've ate at lunch :]
The forum will be then definitely more readable.
100% AGREE wit KukurikU.
Simply the fact that this thread is useless, doesn't bring any information, plus the facts cited are plainly wrong in my experience.
That's all you're missing. Good bye and good luck with your new phone. The corresponding forum awaits you.
Hum...why even bother to reply to a useless thread?
Why have the urge to convince someone that your view is more correct than others?

Do you actually have something to say and contribute to this forum, or are you just trying to be controversial?

"contribute" in the form of "useful information": no.
But I do have a question: With all the devices from HTC in the past, do they perform better over time, with newer ROM releases? Does HTC bother much with ROM updates even after the launch of each product? I guess I should have posted the "question" in the first post of this thread...but then again...it wouldn't be considered as useful information. Given this, it's why I'm trying to hold off my other purchase.
P.S. Not directed at anyone, but, some people on these forums just have a "I'm better than you" complex and have the urge to reply to threads saying "why start a new thread". Geez...just don't reply to it, it'll eventually be history and move itself down the list of threads. Unless you're the administrator concerning with storage issues.
i want my 2 mins back...
well I dont have a problem with the Accelerometer or the Alarm sound not repeating, and the memory leak for me stabilises at 70% and stuff works fine and fast 4 me even then... go buy you symbian device if you want and perhaps get an iphone while your at it, good luck and good bye.
Leave the guy alone!
chatbox, i too just got the E71 after having the DIamond since its release, infact i think this will be my last Windows Mobile Phone well at least till windows 7 comes out.
I got so sick & tired of every rom, having either issues, or being slow at "certain" tasks & also the fact that with WMP's you need 2-3 steps to do the same task in 1 step on say a Nokia. Also once you use hard buttons like the keyboard on E71 you'll hate touch screen keyboard were its slow & many mistakes.
I will though miss flashing roms & trying diffrent tweaks in the registery etc..etc..
But honestly its a phone & i need 3 major tasks in a phone.
Simple, Fast & stable.
If u try the E71, i promise u wont regret it bro.
I think chatbox is desperately trying to find some solution for diamond problems he is suffering from using this thread. A last try just before leaving the boat.
I dont tink that is wrong from him. After all this community forum is all about assisting each other. If he is asking for help or openion that will not mess up the forum
Senior Members... we highly appreciate your contributions to make or lives easier using diamond and making this forum the most comprehensive information / tools source all over the web however dont expect that all other members are as good as you in the know-how issue so please bear with us

Enough of this!
on my physical keyboard on my tilt some of the keys are not very responsive...they dont have good tactile feedback when you push on them. it really came to my attention when i worked on one of my co-workers tilt and his had a lot better feedback...dont know if its fixable or not?? ideas?
Sometimes it amazes me on what people will post now days.
Either send it in for service or get a new keyboard and replace it.
that's funny it amazes me that there are still people out there (such as yourself) who take the time to post a worthless reply...and you are shocked at my post...
think you should step back and think before you post.
and just so you know i did have a replacment sent to me but it felt the same as mine so i sent it back. FYI we have about 6 tilts in my office i've checked 2 of them and there is a definite difference in the feel.
Are you expecting a cab fix for worn out keys? Seriously?
You're complaining about the feel of your keyboard, so what do you expect from anyone here? It's not a software problem, and your not happy with a hardware fix, what else is there?

Not to beat a dead horse or prolong this thread, but I agree and I will try to be nice,. If you don't like your phone, the feel , the speed , the camera, the video playback and the hundreds of whines about the tilt, then get a new phone. The waste of time time here is not the response, it is the fact that much of this forum has turned into the weiner whiner line.
I love my Tilt, it is the best phone I have ever had and I have had a lot. If you don't like HTC or your phone, get a new one, nice and simple.
starting to wish i never posted this...
I love my tilt. no, i'm not expecting a software fix. (even though at&t had me reboot my phone in attempt to fix it) yes i would be happy with a hardware fix...its just the replacement phone i got was the same.
if you have access to more than one device try a couple of them out see if you can notice the difference in keyboards (my co-workers can, and they can tell that mine has some issue)
what i was hoping for was someone who is aware of what i'm talking about and could say yea...take your phone a part and do this to fix it...instead im getting this (see above)
who ever is in charge feel free to kill this thread because it's going no where fast!!!!
Per request thread closed. You can replace the keyboard if you want, though personally i'd pay someone to do that for you rather than trying it yourself if it's that big an issue. You could also try a warranty replacement if you're eligible.
Side Note: Senior members and should know better than to go around harrassing noobs with silly questions. It is the job of those who know more to educate those who know less. If you choose to not be helpful then it is much better to say nothing. No need to create drama where there wasn't any. Just a reminder to all.
