anyone else besides me here discovering reboots all of a sudden?
happened to me 3 days back twice in half an hour and yesterday once again.
i've no clue why! battery was almost fully charged ... it kinda annoys me pretty much!
checked my settings twice (option "turn off after 30 mins of inactivity" is turned off).
frist two times happened with the original o2 rom, now i use bepe's 0.54 premium ger rom and it happened again. doesn't look like it's something rom specific ...
anyone an idea?
If it is not ROM specific, I would suspect some hardware problems.
same here, happend a;lready 4 nights in a row ???

Mine seems to last between 10 and 14 hours with no radio, no beams, no bluetooth, no wireless.
Gotta be something wrong doncha think? I have 3 batteries and they all behave the same, but any one works OK (standby over a week) in my old XDA2.
Anyone else experienced this problem?
Mike
Mine lasts ages on flight mode with no apps running.
Done over 2 days on standby when I went to Bristol by train and that includes having flight mode off when on the train.
I've had this problem. It was left on full charge at 10pm and by 7am was totally flat, and I'd left it in flight mode. A hard reset didn't solve it. The only thing that did was doing a ROM upgrade. I was running the latest O2 ROM v1.11.169. I downgraded my ROM to v1.11.162 with Radio v1.04 (see elsewhere on this forum) and this solved the problem. I can now leave my XDAIIi switched on standby with the phone on from Friday afternoon until Monday morning without needing to put it on charge.

Mine lasts for at least 2 days with phone on, probably longer if I really just left it alone. I normally change batteries every other day if used quite heavily. Something does seem wrong if yours is only lasting a few hours!
i got mine to last 3 days and then almost a week on the standby battery which i was amazed at
May be the infrared beam is not off, you should check that. It consumes vast power...
My Alpine has suddenly decided to drain its battery very quickly, for no obvious reason. It just went from 100% to totally flat overnight, and this is with GPRS, wi-fi and Bluetooth all switched off. Usually I can keep it at home in this state for several days with only a small drop in battery power.
I doubt the battery is at the end of its life - it's only a few months old, and it suddenly developed this problem, having been fine up until now.
Any suggestions anyone please?
hmmm....no idea about that...anyway you can check at http://www.batteryupgrade.com/ for more powerfull battery if you like it...
Has it only done it the once so far? Mine did it a couple of weeks ago for no reason, charged it back up and it has been fine ever since. Might just be a one off!
Mine has done this twice in the last 2 weeks
Happened since installing the Modded 162 / 1.04 rom from here?
Are others having the porblem using this ROM? if so may be worth a ROM change

I've now done a hard reset and this seems to have solved it. I'll let you know if it happens again. I doubt it's the ROM version, as I have the latest official O2 released ROM.
I've found the culprit!
... well, I have half an explanation anyway. Last week, I updated my ROM from the official O2 site - to Ext ROM 1.11.169. I have now hard reset and reverted back to 1.11.162 (with Radio 1.04), reinstalled my software, and it's all working as normal.
I run Tom Tom Navigator 5 - don't know whether this had anything to do with it, but the power drain characteristics were similar to if I'd left Tom Tom running (except I know it was definitely closed down). I even hard reset and uninstalled Tom Tom and the problem was still there - until I did the ROM downgrade to .162 again.
Anyway - it's fixed - I hope this is useful if someone else gets this problem.
Andy.
well i just instlled the shifu rom . great rom in windows mobile 6.1
but since i installed it i have notices that my battery goes really fast down but after soft reset its jumps .
for exsample if i used the phone and reached 50% after reset its goes up to 75
wierd and i dont know what to do
what can i do??
maybe because you just flashed the rom?
seriously... the last 6.5 rom I flashed, my battery drained from 100% down to 25% is less than 24hrs... but then 25% down to 5% took another 24 hours.
after a couple days, the meter is "steady"
I also had the issue of battery meter jumping up after a soft reset, but the issue cleared after a couple days of use.
ok thanks mate i will check it out
lets see more cuople days

Is it shifu's 6.1 or 6.5. If 6.5, always flash stock rom first or else weird things happen. If 6.1, and it persists, try installing a new battery indicator.
its rom 6.1 which battery indicator do you suject?
please help me~
i've been having this weird problem since about 2 weeks ago,
when i decided to flash my diamond with a newer 6.5.3 rom(freya 2019 version in this case)replacing the current 6.5 rom....
the flash take place fluently and nothing unusual happens...
the problem comes after the flash>>>when i tried making a call to test the rom>>>for about 2 minutes or so the call lasted before my phone suddenly shutted itself down, like the battery was drained...i tried turning it off again but the phone shutted down again soon after the first splash screen...like the battery is running out~
the phone will boot normally again if i let it for about 5 minute or if i connected it to the charger for a quick charge...
the problem also come when i was taking pictures with the camera...i can only snap a few pictures before the phone shuts down itself..
however,,if i dont make or receive any calls or taking pictures,,,the battery will last for a whooping 2 days(original 900mah battery)~
i even tried changing the radio rom from the original 1.00.25.05 to some few others to no avail..the problem persisted....
the problem came even when the phone was fresh 100% charged so i guess it's not the battery's fault,,,the problem never happened to me in the previous rom or when i'm running the stock rom~
any help will be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance>>
Anyone experiance it? As i read on gsmarena comment, many experiance it...did anyone manage to solve the issue?

If you would specify what ROM you are using, it might be a bit more specific.

Can anyone suggest a stable stock rom?

I have been using XXKPU for a while, it was quite stable but is now very old. At the moment, using XXKQ7 for some time. Also quite ok. Maybe your hardware is faulty.
I never had this kind of problem . i'm using kqe custom rom and i have no problems.
[9001] Samsung Galaxy S Plus i9001 random turn off
I have same problem with my i9001. I bought it in march, and it started to turn off randomly in june.
I used 3 different stock ROMs and CM9, and had this problem in everyone of them. I took phone to service, but they didn't find out what was problem (they told me that it is probably faulty internal memory, but new memory and repair for 45e wasn't acceptable for me)
This turn off happens to me usualy when phone is locked and idle. One time it happened on CM9 startup, and only one time phone was active (I was just browsing apps) when it turned off.
When it turns off sometimes it wont turn on for hours. It very rarely helps to take out battery and wait for 10 or more seconds and then put it back.
I noticed few times when it turnes on that on startup screen instead of SAMSUNG (first screen) it shows battery picture as it is when recharging even if phone is not connected to computer/charger.
I also noticed that reported battery is somehow strange. For example one time I recharged phone to 100%, and somewhere about 85% it turned off. I left im over the night, and in morning I turned it on and battery was on 6%. Same happened again with 55% going to 6% in just a few hours.
I found a way to turn it on, but this way is totaly strange and stupid. I take out battery, connect phone to computer with USB cable (as usual for data transfer and recharging), and then place battery. For now, I managed to turn it on this way most of times (which would be about 10%, 10% everything else, and 80% fail to turn on )
I have no idea what causes this but it probably isn't OS, kernel, apps, root/unroot and rest of possible software reasons.
Does anybody know what is actualy the problem with i9001 turning off randomly? And how to fix it?
Sorry for my bad English (I actually dont care )
edit: I tried following ROMs (all could be found on http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
I9001XXKQ6 XXKPK
I9001XXKQB XXKPL

I have the exact same problem, once or twice a day the phone just switches off.
I use Broodrom RC5 currently.
Sometimes I see random green pixels across the screen before it turns off as well.
