I'm looking for realplayer that actually works and streams videos when a link is clicked on in IE.
you mean this?
To my knowledge real player is buggy and obsolete......

I don't think that type of real player is going to work for what he wants. If the OP installs the Cingular Video only app, see link>>>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305897
that should work. It's what I used after switching to the stock HTC rom and I wanted CV. It also worked for other sites with mobile video content.
It might help if you mention what Rom you are using. Sometimes the programs are Rom dependent.
This guy, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406346, has Realplayer working in his Rom. Maybe do a little research with him.

I'm using Throttle Diamond I Multilanguage, Radio: 1.65.20.29
Did you post your questioin in the Throttle ROM thread? As I said earlier, sometimes these things are dependent on the ROM and will not work by design.

You have to download Flash in order for it to work.
You can also use vtap.com - has a rich client download that make searching and watching sweet.

add one more happy vtap user to the list. i just decided to try it because of this thread and its pretty cool for what it does. and we have access to all of youtube as opposed to the iPhone users. sure, they may have the better interface, but i'll take the larger library
Vtap is great!! The only problem I have is, on the site, it shows a view of the desired video like the youtube site would show but when inside the application, it only has a decriptions without a picture. Is this how it is for the Tilt version?

Me neither. I verified file associations within TCPMP. Notably, there's no 'Video Sites' shortcut in Programs.
Because in ATT ROM, real player is the default player for the PIE and it doesn't support youtube. since i flashed my tilt with HTC stock ROM, the default player is "streaming video" app which plays youtube video with no problem. i think there should be a way to change the default player in registery.
hm vtap is nice if it has what you are looking for, but i just did a search for a video that i had uploaded to youtube and it did not find it.

Just go to youtube.com on your cell, it will open "mobile youtube."
on the bottom of the page, click "classic view"
once there it should work with tcmd...
I installed the cab from this thread on my tilt and it worked. I can now stream videos from the m.youtube.com site.

You're all forgetting to add that it also picks up videos from other sites, like MetaCafe, Google and Yahoo! Video and many others. Plus Wikipedia on the vTap just murks (that's "murder" for the ones not in the know) every other application or dictionary that tries to give us a mobile version of it on WM phones.
But the good thing is that the FlashVideoBundle works well also, just in case you prefered not to use a separate application...
i have vtap installed but i rather use regular youtube.
vtap and mtube lower the quality of the videos
can someone pls post the vFlashVideoBundle.CAB in this thread so I dont have to reg at that site. thanks!
Hey Bros,
I already Up my Kaiser to WM 6.1 ( Ver 3.08 of Vodafone UK ), The biggest trouble is TCPMP can't run on WM 6.1. Any one know which media player can run on WM 6.1. Please tell me and others, Thanks !

Yes, I See. Your device's OS not Official ROM. Its cooked ROM from Dutty!
DivX Player from www.divx.com (requires registration but is free, pretty fast and quality is ok, the interface is VERY basic though and it only plays MPEG4-based stuff).
CorePlayer from www.coreplayer.com (costs money but works like a charm, with DCS 1.1 ROM and CorePlayer 1.1.3 I can play all XviD movies except HR-stuff without dropped frames or sync problems).
PocketTV from www.pockettv.com (requires registration but "classic" version is free, "enterprise version is 15 bucks but supports more advanced options and acceleration. only works with MPEG/MPEG2 but is really fast and quite a high quality.)
Personally I just use CorePlayer 1.1.3 for now and I will surely upgrade to 1.2 once it arrives.
is it possible to still use the flashvideobundle with coreplayer?

Try to install mine version. Just came back from the GYM and I played music for 3 hours with TCMP.
I'm using Alex's UltraClean WM6.1 Beta2 and I have no problem installing and using TCMP 0.72. Played about 3-4 hours of music on it now, and tested a few videos.
Nope, even that one doesn't work on the official build of 6.1 I have.
"Unexpected program failure. Please send "crash.txt" to the developers. Program will now exit."
Apparantly it works on some of the WM6.1 ROMs and not on others. It doesnt on DCS v1.3, that I can confirm. Irritating to lack proper .flv support (which is really the most important for me personally). CorePlayer, DivX Player and whatnot is totaly irrelevant, because its the youtube streaming abilities that I find most fun. Streaming via StreamingMedia just sucks compared to TCPMP, also it only work over GPRS/EDGE/3G.
CorePlayer 1.1.3 is the best choice for insteading of TCPMP on my device with WM 6.1.
Thanks all!
For Use with youtube
I've found that TCPMP does not work on my particular 6.1 ROM. Try using http://tinytube.net instead of youtube. Unfortunately the interface and selection aren't as robust as youtube, but it pulls streams from multiple sources (google, yahoo, myspace, etc) and has a decent search engine. All streams end up going through the Streaming Media app.

The rom U use , the Dutty 6.1 beta is based on a older build that can use older radio and TCMP works.
The later builds cant use TCMP and must have any of the the newer radio.
Carlis
i need to get some application like TCPMP, in TCPMP i can turn off screen and still rewind song in pocket do you know something what have that function and run on official HTC wm6.1 rom??
TCPMP is a great player. I have it working in a WM6.1 19701 Build. Sometimes it takes a little finesse to get it working. I've added the correct cabs to this reply.
Make sure you do the following:
Put both files in the same place (either on the storage card or in main memory). I put them both on the storage card.
After you install each cab file, do a soft reset. (Make sure you remove any previous version before adding either cab).
Make sure you are going to the correct URL - www.youtube.com/?nomobile=1
It should work for you. It's the best player out there.
Oh, I almost forgot. I did have to install NET CF3.5 on one of my devices before it worked. I'm not sure if it was coincidence or necessary.
Also make sure that "flash video" is selected in Options/Settings/Select Page/File Associations in TCPMP.
or you can use this recompiled version of tcpmp

@ XtreMe_G: Thanks. That one works fine on the official HTC 6.1
smartphone tcpmp i downloaded from here crashes on wm6.1 on q9c
Hi,
Does anyone know why the TCPMP player (ver: 0.72RC1 and 0.81RC1)
doesn't work on the TD. When I installed it, and open it for the first time,
and error pops up. crash.txt
does anyone have a fix for this problem, so I can run TCPMP player
normally.
thnx!
No, not at this moment. I use coreplayer and it works fine. The preference are almost the same...
No problems at all.

Hello, I have exactly the same ROM and Radio version and TCPMP doesn0't work. I've tried all versions found here : still nothing !
In fact I can install it but it's impossible to read MP4 videos.
Any idea ? Or the best will be to REALLY read MP4 videos with Window Media. That's still impossible despite what they said.
Help please

Same here. I even 'bothered' to read through all of Menneisyys articles and bibles and I couldn't find the solution in there either. Where would that be?
Anyone?
I installed the the TCPMP linked above and it works, in terms of turning on and playing media...
But i cannot get OPERA or IE to play videos on the TCPMP player. Both try to load windowsmobile media player... Wich obviously fails. How do i make TCPMP the default player for both browsers?
Black toolbar
Everything works, except the buttons in toolbar are hidden in black. Clicking on them still activate the functions, but just can't see it.
I had the same problem with crash.txt. I changed to the version for the diamond. No change. After playing around with it I found it to be one of the codec’s not compatible with wm6.1.
I uninstalled them 1 at a time and opened it until I found which one it was. Sorry can’t remember which 1 it was. (I use the core player now).
Its one of these,,
ac3.plugin
ffmpeg.plugin
flac.plugin
speex.plugin
vorbislq.plugin
wavpack.plugin
I searched but couldn't find. Does anyone else have a problem with distortion when enabling the equalizer? It's night and day difference and really bad.
Any work around for this?
Check out this site to watch Youtube videos (and other videos from around the net). I have tried programs to make Youtube work, but it won't. I found this search site which I can finally watch videos. Does any one else Know any sites where you can do this?
The mobile site is at m.vtap.com (they have a regular web based site at vtap.com too).

What build of Opera 9.5 do you have? I have build 1957 and flashlite 3.1 and it doesn't seem to work on youtube. Thanks.
My Tilt plays youtube videos just fine, and on the regular website, not the mobile one.
I use PIE, have TCPMP with the flash media bundle installed within TCPMP's directory.
When I click on a video, TCPMP asks to play or save the videos... and it works perfectly. My Tilt came with the offical 6.1, I hard reset the ROM and got rid of the bloatware. It's easy.
I wonder if m.vtap.com works with my setup?

I've just tried a app. called Fewidget it needed flash player 7 to work. After installing FP 7 youtube stopped working on Opera. Even uninstallation of Flash Player 7 didn't help. I had to soft reset to get it working again...so maybe you have or had flash player 7 installed on your phone?
Hi, I've tried a lot of cabs (in ram or in SD) from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395338 but the application doesn't start. I've tried even in an official rom just installed but with same result...
Plz help me!!!
None of the official YouTube .cabs have ever worked for me. Just use youtubeplay. It's by the same person as the hacked official youtube .cabs and it lets you download videos too. Or, you could just use skyfire.
Dave
what ROM do you have
what RADIO
I have you tube playing just fine on my tilt, with streaming media, or the stand a alone version.
Make sure you have Proxy uncheck in proxy settings.
Radio: 1.71.09.01
Rom: 3.29.408.0
It's not a proxy problem, the application simply doesn't start.
Now I use last Core Player to watch Youtube and It works pretty well but anyway I would like to know why on some Kaiser Youtube. cab works an on some others no...
Download these two files.
Which files?
I've tried all those cabs fixes before and none of them worked. I use -g-'s latest naked rom. the HTC Youtube Player must be cooked into the rom in order to work. -g-'s lite roms have it cooked in.
Just install TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle
You can watch videos not only from youtube but also from google video, veoh, and other sites.
It has worked for me in all ROMs, WM 6 or 6.1.
