Hi, I've tried a lot of cabs (in ram or in SD) from this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395338 but the application doesn't start. I've tried even in an official rom just installed but with same result...
Plz help me!!!
None of the official YouTube .cabs have ever worked for me. Just use youtubeplay. It's by the same person as the hacked official youtube .cabs and it lets you download videos too. Or, you could just use skyfire.
Dave
what ROM do you have
what RADIO
I have you tube playing just fine on my tilt, with streaming media, or the stand a alone version.
Make sure you have Proxy uncheck in proxy settings.
Radio: 1.71.09.01
Rom: 3.29.408.0
It's not a proxy problem, the application simply doesn't start.
Now I use last Core Player to watch Youtube and It works pretty well but anyway I would like to know why on some Kaiser Youtube. cab works an on some others no...
Download these two files.
Which files?
I've tried all those cabs fixes before and none of them worked. I use -g-'s latest naked rom. the HTC Youtube Player must be cooked into the rom in order to work. -g-'s lite roms have it cooked in.
Just install TCPMP and FlashVideoBundle
You can watch videos not only from youtube but also from google video, veoh, and other sites.
It has worked for me in all ROMs, WM 6 or 6.1.
if you use foxfire mobile
you can use it on youtube directly http://get.skyfire.com/ looks like regular youtube

I can't seem to get htc streaming media to work on my tilt
I've intalled clean ROMs. then put the streaming media files over. this usually ended up with a sdkcerts type error when running the exe, and the javascript and flash out of date in PIE.
I then flashed shaps full ROM which has streaming media installed already.
this lets me load up the streaming media exe just fine. haven't tried opening anything in that yet. no untrusted error. but PIE still gives me the javascript and flash error and no video. I've grabbed sdkcerts.cab from duttys repository, and still nothing.
has anyone got this runing on a tilt yet?
does anyone have any ideas on how to get it running or what I need to do short of buying a TyTN?

1. I've explained why S.M. doesn't run on some ROM's in my article in the first bullet of the "UPDATE (06/29/2007)" section at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2045&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
2. you must go to http://m.youtube.com/ , NOT the traditional YouTube page
you gotta get the tcmp install package... i had to install 3 things...
m.youtube.com is for lame-o iphones
youtube.com is working with i.e. and tcpmp
fyi, i have a tilt and i do NOT use the streaming media to view youtube.com. i use tcpmp

Other people with the same ROM have it running fine with no changes. I did a hard reset with this rom and it still gives me the javascript error
just for a test, I followed the links in your article and tried installing the available links and it still doesnt work.
So far, the people that have said that it's running fine for them are TyTNs, not tilts. but with the same ROM as I am running. So something about my phone being a Tilt is making this not run.

I've got tcpmp running great with ytpocket. I consider myself a bit of an expert on it now hahha.
What I dont have running is htc streaming media on my Tilt. and I havent seen anyone post that they do have it running on a tilt, regardless of rom.
The reason that I want this is for non youtube sites.
This (not work safe, but fully clothed) video, for example, plays just fine on my friends TyTN, but wont play on my Tilt
http://www.livevideo.com/media/playvideo_fs.aspx?fs=1&cid=80F6C6492B334402A9F98361628D06C5
Will that one play on your phone? in PIE?
you could also use www.veohgopckt.com and www.ytpocket.com to stream them to tcpmp.all you need to do is install the FlashVideo plugin.
try these cabs... this is all you should need to install to get the "real" youtube to work

i'm wondering what's different in the TyTN II that HTC streaming media works and it wont on a tilt. both with the same ROM. I've yet to find a tilt that it works with like it does on a TyTN II
i have flash lite installed but stil not able to watch the video's any ideas. and also is there any p2p software for a ppc? and before i get flamed for warez i will soley using it to upload my own work to share with everyone else (video clips) and i have isdn at home so my phone internet is actualy faster.
.
www.ytpocket.com
the tcpmp program works great on that site, and it has all the videos youtube has, unlike the fake version iphones have that have like 2% of the videos, or youtube mobile.
works great on my tilt.
just follow the instructions on the site after you dl it.
check out something called vtap
Download and install this CAB:
http://www.cinetsystems.com/xda/Kaiser%20Cab%20Collections/duttythroy%20The%20Core%20Pocket%20Media%20Player.cab
Works great on the Tilt.
Thanks to Duttythroy
a few of the cooked roms here offer youtube right out the box. the ones i know of so far are duttys v3 and soon to come v4...and q-mobile. you can even go straight to youtube.com and play it from there if you want. even if you get a link to a video in your email or text it will know its a youtube video and give you the option to play. the downside is...its a package for cooking roms. dutty tried to make a cab but it wasn't working. but if you use youtube and other video sites alot i suggest you flash to one of these roms...you'll be in heaven.

Hi All,
I have been using YOUTUBE on my HTC TYTN II since last two months through FlashVideoBundle.CAB and TCMP and it was working flawlessly until I checked yesterday.
Now I am not able to see any videos on www.ytpocket.com and moreover when I go to main www.youtube.com and click on a video and say either save or play it shows me error message “youtube swf args not found”.
Please help me to sort out this problem.
Thanks.
Download the new flashbundle from this thread m8.

Hi, Thanks for prompt reply....
Are you sure it will not screw any existing applications as i was able to stream youtube before and apart from youtube i am still able to stream videos from other websites like goggle videos, VEOH videos, DIVX STAGE6 videos etc...
It is just a concern.....
Thanks for your help
Not sure about that, guess you'll just have to try and find out.
Just out of curiosity, how do you stream vids from stage6? Is there a plugin or a certain player for that?

I use TCMP and FlashVideoBundle for Stage 6, Just you need to associate divx files with TCMP.
Just as additional information, in the event that someone had the same problem as me.
I had problems through wifi where it failed to connect.
The phone had defaulted to trying to connect through "My ISP" in the streaming media app options. To get it working through wifi, just change the option to connect through "The Internet" and it goes for the wifi rather than the phone network (which I have disabled with Modaco".
I just tried m.youtube.com and everything works as usual. I use HTC Streaming Media, it intergrates with browser perfectly. You can find a cab floating somewhere on the forum.
Sorry to hijack the thread man, but I thought it might be better not to open a new one for a very similar problem.
I had to hard reset my device yesterday and then I've installed everything back.
Now youtube doesn't work as it is supposed to. When I'm watching a stream in landscape mode and I want to see it full screen, it rotates back to portrait.
Before the hard reset it was working just fine. What could it be?
Thanks.
The ROMeOS Rom works very well with YouTube. If you want to try it here it is, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406346. It as actually a very good, stable, and fast Rom. It is on the Lite side and an excellent base to add just what you want in your Rom.
hey guys, ive been reading ur treads and everything. i got all necesarry files on my phone to play youtube videos. but, when i enter any of the youtube pages u gave links to. and wanna open a film to se it. i get this message could not find the network.(the film always open in the phones media player)
can this be the problem? i dunno how to fix it. so a little help would be great
I'm looking for realplayer that actually works and streams videos when a link is clicked on in IE.
you mean this?
To my knowledge real player is buggy and obsolete......
Realone v1.0

Realone v2.0

I don't think that type of real player is going to work for what he wants. If the OP installs the Cingular Video only app, see link>>>
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305897
that should work. It's what I used after switching to the stock HTC rom and I wanted CV. It also worked for other sites with mobile video content.
It might help if you mention what Rom you are using. Sometimes the programs are Rom dependent.
This guy, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406346, has Realplayer working in his Rom. Maybe do a little research with him.

Did you post your questioin in the Throttle ROM thread? As I said earlier, sometimes these things are dependent on the ROM and will not work by design.

Hi, I am new to this site. First WM device. Have only used s60. Would also like to find a cab file for real player so that I can watch live video on my pone on certain website. I have a Samsung Epix. Thank you very much for all your help.
Check out this site to watch Youtube videos (and other videos from around the net). I have tried programs to make Youtube work, but it won't. I found this search site which I can finally watch videos. Does any one else Know any sites where you can do this?
The mobile site is at m.vtap.com (they have a regular web based site at vtap.com too).

What build of Opera 9.5 do you have? I have build 1957 and flashlite 3.1 and it doesn't seem to work on youtube. Thanks.
My Tilt plays youtube videos just fine, and on the regular website, not the mobile one.
I use PIE, have TCPMP with the flash media bundle installed within TCPMP's directory.
When I click on a video, TCPMP asks to play or save the videos... and it works perfectly. My Tilt came with the offical 6.1, I hard reset the ROM and got rid of the bloatware. It's easy.
I wonder if m.vtap.com works with my setup?

I've just tried a app. called Fewidget it needed flash player 7 to work. After installing FP 7 youtube stopped working on Opera. Even uninstallation of Flash Player 7 didn't help. I had to soft reset to get it working again...so maybe you have or had flash player 7 installed on your phone?
