So many Rom cookers change the splash, boot screens. I was wondering if someone had the original three...the first one just says touch diamond, the second is the animated HTC logo, and the third is ofcourse the wm 6.1 welcomehead. The first touch diamond one is the one I really needed.
Yes I need this too. Does anyone know how to dump splash screens? I can install a stock rom and then dump it. But only if someone can give me a guide I think it is different from other guides because this device is VGA. but anyways if someone can find it I will dump it.
Here is the 1st Splash
I seprated from other ROM. Use RUU to flash it.
Please unlock and backup before flash.

Managed to flash the 1st screen, but im having a problem with your welcomehead file, i cannot seem to find it when it is extracted? any ideas why?
Thanks so much guys, this was actually one of the steps I was stuck at in trying, for the first time, to flash a custom splash screen. I didn't like the ones in the cooked rms, so I wanted to make it simple to put my own after changing a ROM. I guess you guys want to see what I got so here they are. I also put them in a zip just in case someone liked them.

This file is not extracted, it is in "\Windows" and it is a part of the boot sequence.
Both files are those of the official HTC ROM 1.37.406.1

Ok !
Indeed, the file is hidden because it's a system file.
On Windows, you've to unhide it with file settings.
I modified the attribut of the file to make it easier to use.
Ok, got an o2 Diamond and just changed the splash screen with the .nbh from HERE.
But now the splash screen is from top down to 3/4 of the display the new one from HTC and the last 1/4 is the old splash from o2. Looks pretty ****ty
Anyone got an idea?

I've started this thread so if Admin's made this one sticky we can all collect home-made Trinity Splash Screens here..
Please follow this guide if you want to create your own splash and post only compressed (ZIP or RAR) RUU_signed.nbh file and the screenshots (in JPG format)
Flashing Splash Screens is very fast and harmless as no data will be erased from ROM.
Here is my first "Trinity" splash screen! I called it "The Real Trinity"

Post yours splashs screens i am interesed!!!
Yes, it will ONLY replace that white HTC bootscreens without touching the rest (IPL,SPL,OS etc.)
Trinity 64
Here we go, this time some retro boot sequence: "Trinity 64"

If you have a SuperCid device then no problems, just copy the file you downloaded into your RomUpdateUtilty folder and run the program.
Otherwise you will need SSPL-TRIN.exe to SuperCid your device temporarily.
Follow this thread for SSPL-TRIN: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632

What is your bootloader?
It has no problems with the Olipro's one, or try with SSPL-TRIN...
Original bootloaders does not accepts unsigned files (giving error: file corrupted)

Are you saying that in order to change the splash screen i have to flash my Trinity "ex novo" again?
Is there a way to install the splash screen without reflash the whole (but modified) rom?

Don't worry flashing splash screens does NOT erase any phone data (os, your personal files etc.)
It will ONLY change the splash screens!
I missed somethig...
I followed these steps:
-opened official new ita rom with WINRAR and extracted all in a new folder;
-renamed the .nbh file in .bak;
-extracted commodore.zip and inserted the file(.nbh) in the new folder;
-ran SSPL from device as usually;
-ran update utility (.exe) from the folder and flashed the device ONLY with the new splash screen (about 5 seconds to get 100%).
The splash screen worked well, but when it booted i noticed i had lost all my settings and my installations, so i had to spend an hour to set them once again.
Have i done something wrong? Sure, but what? I'd like to try some other splash screen, but i don't want to waste my time...
Could someone start a thread with custom boot/splash screens. I had a request for a windows mobile 6.1 logo for the second screen after the animated.
I want to know how to create my own first splash screen.
(From JPG/BMP to nbh).
Thanks.
nice, i would also like such a thread!
To create Diamond Splash Screens, you can use nbimg, which supports the diamond splash screen size. It converts from BMP to NB and viceversa.
In a registry editor, go to:
Changing the boot picture/sound:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation (startup animation and sound)
and
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Splash Screen (The green WM 6.1 logo)
can someone tell me what is the very first splash file called,
I have looked everywhere for it. I have changed the animation gif and splash but dont know what file im looking for, for the first one! help

you cant find it. you have to flash the nbh with ruu to change it.
oh ok thanks.
This is what I did:
1. Create the wallpaper 480 x 640
2. Convert the image to a .bmp (just use paint and save as a 24 bit bmp)
3. then use the tool to convert to .nb (Follow the instructions up to the .nb)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317436
4. Use a nbh tool to convert from .nb to .nbh (you may have to change the xml file after running it once. I just changed the Kaiser info to the Diamond info)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2122307
5. Flash it with the Custom RUU for the Diamond
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396073
Works fine for me. Just the images need to be 480 X 680

thx man this was exactly what I needed......
Still can't manage the nbh file. With which tool do I convert the .nb to a Diamond .nbh? I tried the tools from a Diamond kitchen but got an error after flashing it. I had to flash a new ROM to recover it.
Edit: Removed
I used NBH UTIL to nbh from nb.
Just changed the values from polaris to diamond.
Model ID: DIAM*****
Target CID remain the same
Version: 1.00.Diamond
Language and Chunk size remain the same
Sign with default certificate stays TICKED.
Attached the NBH UTIL.
Any other questions ask. If you do not now how to do it don't do it because you will end up with a bad flash on your phone. If you want me to transform and image to splash let me know. But make sure when you post image has to be right size coz i aint gonna resize it. 480 x 640.

thnx for the file.
well I don't know exactly how to do it, but there's no reason why I shouldn't TRY it, is it?
I made a BMP, transformed it to .nb, but the problem was to transform it to .nbh with the right Diamond settings.
I tried Olipro's tool and the tools from a Diamond kitchen, they didn't do the job (yest).
The second flash got me an error in bootloader saying I had to reflash the ROM.
So I did and everything's ok again. But still no new splash.
That's the reason I asked in this thread.
I'm sure it's going to work when I keep on trying (don't like to be encouraged...)
Will try the nbhutil with your advised settings, let you know...
Hi! This tutorial will help you with changing raw bootsplash in your himalaya
IF YOU REPARTITIONED YOUR DOC (31 mb storage) YOU MAY BE NEEDED TO UNDO THIS PARTITIONING AND GET INTO NORMAL SET OF PARTITIONS!
This is what you will get that easy way:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So, here we go!
Download >>THIS<< package and upack it anywhere.
There will be three files:
- ms_.nbf
- HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
- ER2003Edit_1_4_26.msi
First of all, install ER2003Edit_1_4_26.msi.
When installed, click on ms_.nbf file to open it with ER2003.
Now, open any graphic editor to make 240x320 file, and save it as BMP (it's important).
Now, in ER2003 click on Splash Images and then click on Load Bitmap, there is 2 same load buttons, you should load both of them.
When loaded, click on File menu and Save your rom.
Now, go into bootloader mode in your himalaya, run HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, click next, wait and then click upgrade.
You won't lose any data
When done, just unplug your device and JUST restart, co cold reset, no hard reset, just reset.
Watch your himalaya working with new bootsplash
Enjoy

Hi thought i'd share this tut i have not seen many things on this.
# Note: I am not in anyway responsible if you brick your phone as this can be very dangerous Good Luck
First you need to flash a new spl version, you can go ahead without and try if it works but it's most likely not going to let you with out changing your spl to an unlocked one
Use the SPL below, flash it as if it were a rom, once flashed reboot it will boot into recovery again, leave it for a little while then hit reboot your phone should then boot up normally. View attachment update-hero-hboot-1.76.2007-signed.zip <-- (SPL)
Now either download this (Click here For Mirror's) (Splash Screen maker) to make your own splash screen out of an image or download one someone has already made (PM me if you want me to do a personalized one for you also include what you want on it and what you want it to say ), here is a cynageon mod one i made if you want to use it (extract the zip and its the .rgb565 file you want)

}
View attachment splash.zip
To make your own create an image with the correct resolution and open it with createG1slash.exe from the splash creator zip file you downloaded, then click convert, in the same folder the program is in you should now have a file either ending in .rgb565 or .nb it doesn't matter which one you have as long as you have one rename it to splash.(Then_whatever_your_extension_was) and move it in to your android sdk tools folder. Next open cmd and get to your android sdk tools folder in that. (Make sure your phone is turned on with usb debugging also on)
then in cmd type
adb-windows reboot bootloader
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
your phone should then boot in to fastbootmode let it do that then next type
fastboot flash splash1 splash.rgb565
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
(or .nb instead of .rgb565 depending on what file type your file was)
If you get an error message doing the above and havent flashed the new SPL that means you will need to flash it as you have a locked SPL
Then lastly
fastboot reboot
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Hope you enjoy your new splash screen
For the (almost) stock Splash Screen go here
(o'.')-o Q('.'Q) <--- lol
Maybe also supply a MD5 check thingy as Ive heard that playing with SPLs can lead to brickage issues if the download is corrupt.
But thanks for the share pal, bookmarked for future ref.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the info I will look for one tomorrow, your welcome
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
i've got one now but im wondering how would i use it with the attactched zip ??
So you need to get the MD5 check sum for the original file you have on your pc. Then just put that long code up in your post so when people download, they can check the MD5 on the file they have and cross reference to make sure it is exactly the same as your copy.
Ah okay thanks will do that asap
Thanks got the MD5 sum andput in op

Just one more.....
Is there anyway to flash original before selling the phone?
Yeah sure i will look around for the original then upload, How come, you selling your phone or is it a just in case situation
Here you go it's not exactly the original but you'd have to be very good to tell the difference

Hi,
I've downloaded the tool which converts the bmp into nbh, but it's not working at all (at least for me )
I'd be thankful if you just could convert this bmp i created
It's in bmp format and it's 480 by 800
Here is a preview, you should download the attachment :

if you mean the lock screen wallpaper, you can change that from the setting menu. settings>lock&wallaper....i think. anyway, once you are there you can change the wallaper, that really means the lock screen because the home screen with your tiles will not change. there are some pics loaded already for you to choose from, or you can get free apps from marketplace to get other pictures. You can also sync pictures to your phone for this as well.

Nice!!
How to do it for Newbies
OK Newbies, here is how to do it on the WP7 OK I have downloaded the tool for yous.
1st unzip to your desk top.
Now when you open it up you can see the applications, BMP2NBH1st Boot, and BMP2NBH2nd Splash, also customRUU and nbimg. OK now down load the picture you want as the start up screen on your WP7. It has to be BMP file as mentioned in this threads. OK got the nice picture you want.
2nd. you must rename the bmp picture to 1boot, thats it. Now put the picture now named 1boot into the folder where all that applications are.
3rd Now double click on the BMP2NBH1st boot application on the top, and now it will now put/show the following 2 files as 1boot.bmp.nb, and 1boot.bmp.nbh. along with the original picture. OK
4th. Dont panic you wont loose your WP7, but you have to switch off the phone. Put the thumb on the down vol button, start the phone (Make sure usb connected) and it will go into the tri colour bootloader mode. Make sure you see usb at the bottom of the bootloader screen.
Last: click on the customRUU and flash it like a normal rom. Its only going to put the picture in, It's not going to wipe out your WP7. Wait until it finishes (Its very fast). and when you see the finish screen, then close it.
Now watch it boot with your nice new picture.
Thanks to Jase33 please hit his thank you button as well.

Thank you very much, It's my bad that i haven't read the instructions .
I'd love to give you a thank but "Sorry, you are limited to five thanks per day"
Is there any chance to change splash screen between MAGLDR and WP7 itself? I mean this DFT boot logo just before WP7 loads. 2splash.bmp didn't do it :/
