Diamond Boot & Splash Screen - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Could someone start a thread with custom boot/splash screens. I had a request for a windows mobile 6.1 logo for the second screen after the animated.

I want to know how to create my own first splash screen.
(From JPG/BMP to nbh).
Thanks.

nice, i would also like such a thread!

To create Diamond Splash Screens, you can use nbimg, which supports the diamond splash screen size. It converts from BMP to NB and viceversa.

In a registry editor, go to:
Changing the boot picture/sound:
HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCAnimation (startup animation and sound)
and
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Splash Screen (The green WM 6.1 logo)

can someone tell me what is the very first splash file called,
I have looked everywhere for it. I have changed the animation gif and splash but dont know what file im looking for, for the first one! help

you cant find it. you have to flash the nbh with ruu to change it.

oh ok thanks.

This is what I did:
1. Create the wallpaper 480 x 640
2. Convert the image to a .bmp (just use paint and save as a 24 bit bmp)
3. then use the tool to convert to .nb (Follow the instructions up to the .nb)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317436
4. Use a nbh tool to convert from .nb to .nbh (you may have to change the xml file after running it once. I just changed the Kaiser info to the Diamond info)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2122307
5. Flash it with the Custom RUU for the Diamond
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396073
Works fine for me. Just the images need to be 480 X 680

Hello I have made this splash screen.
Found this image made by zmob123 on other thread I just converted into a flashable file. It includes custom ruu. I have flashed it with no problems.

Can you tell me please how you made the nb into a nbh?
all the tools around haven't got the Daimond model-id.
Can I change it myself to Diamon100, 11111111 or so?

thx man this was exactly what I needed......

Still can't manage the nbh file. With which tool do I convert the .nb to a Diamond .nbh? I tried the tools from a Diamond kitchen but got an error after flashing it. I had to flash a new ROM to recover it.

Edit: Removed

I used NBH UTIL to nbh from nb.
Just changed the values from polaris to diamond.
Model ID: DIAM*****
Target CID remain the same
Version: 1.00.Diamond
Language and Chunk size remain the same
Sign with default certificate stays TICKED.
Attached the NBH UTIL.
Any other questions ask. If you do not now how to do it don't do it because you will end up with a bad flash on your phone. If you want me to transform and image to splash let me know. But make sure when you post image has to be right size coz i aint gonna resize it. 480 x 640.

thnx for the file.
well I don't know exactly how to do it, but there's no reason why I shouldn't TRY it, is it?
I made a BMP, transformed it to .nb, but the problem was to transform it to .nbh with the right Diamond settings.
I tried Olipro's tool and the tools from a Diamond kitchen, they didn't do the job (yest).
The second flash got me an error in bootloader saying I had to reflash the ROM.
So I did and everything's ok again. But still no new splash.
That's the reason I asked in this thread.
I'm sure it's going to work when I keep on trying (don't like to be encouraged...)
Will try the nbhutil with your advised settings, let you know...

Trinity Splash Screen Collection

I've started this thread so if Admin's made this one sticky we can all collect home-made Trinity Splash Screens here..
Please follow this guide if you want to create your own splash and post only compressed (ZIP or RAR) RUU_signed.nbh file and the screenshots (in JPG format)
Flashing Splash Screens is very fast and harmless as no data will be erased from ROM.
Here is my first "Trinity" splash screen! I called it "The Real Trinity"

If you have a SuperCid device then no problems, just copy the file you downloaded into your RomUpdateUtilty folder and run the program.
Otherwise you will need SSPL-TRIN.exe to SuperCid your device temporarily.
Follow this thread for SSPL-TRIN: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293632

What is your bootloader?
It has no problems with the Olipro's one, or try with SSPL-TRIN...
Original bootloaders does not accepts unsigned files (giving error: file corrupted)

Are you saying that in order to change the splash screen i have to flash my Trinity "ex novo" again?
Is there a way to install the splash screen without reflash the whole (but modified) rom?

Don't worry flashing splash screens does NOT erase any phone data (os, your personal files etc.)
It will ONLY change the splash screens!
I missed somethig...
I followed these steps:
-opened official new ita rom with WINRAR and extracted all in a new folder;
-renamed the .nbh file in .bak;
-extracted commodore.zip and inserted the file(.nbh) in the new folder;
-ran SSPL from device as usually;
-ran update utility (.exe) from the folder and flashed the device ONLY with the new splash screen (about 5 seconds to get 100%).
The splash screen worked well, but when it booted i noticed i had lost all my settings and my installations, so i had to spend an hour to set them once again.
Have i done something wrong? Sure, but what? I'd like to try some other splash screen, but i don't want to waste my time...

Original Diamond Splash/Boot set needed

So many Rom cookers change the splash, boot screens. I was wondering if someone had the original three...the first one just says touch diamond, the second is the animated HTC logo, and the third is ofcourse the wm 6.1 welcomehead. The first touch diamond one is the one I really needed.
Yes I need this too. Does anyone know how to dump splash screens? I can install a stock rom and then dump it. But only if someone can give me a guide I think it is different from other guides because this device is VGA. but anyways if someone can find it I will dump it.
Here is the 1st Splash
I seprated from other ROM. Use RUU to flash it.

Thanks so much guys, this was actually one of the steps I was stuck at in trying, for the first time, to flash a custom splash screen. I didn't like the ones in the cooked rms, so I wanted to make it simple to put my own after changing a ROM. I guess you guys want to see what I got so here they are. I also put them in a zip just in case someone liked them.

This file is not extracted, it is in "\Windows" and it is a part of the boot sequence.
Both files are those of the official HTC ROM 1.37.406.1

Indeed, the file is hidden because it's a system file.
On Windows, you've to unhide it with file settings.
I modified the attribut of the file to make it easier to use.

[Trick!] How to change first and second boot screen easly :)

Hi! This tutorial will help you with changing raw bootsplash in your himalaya
IF YOU REPARTITIONED YOUR DOC (31 mb storage) YOU MAY BE NEEDED TO UNDO THIS PARTITIONING AND GET INTO NORMAL SET OF PARTITIONS!
This is what you will get that easy way:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So, here we go!
Download >>THIS<< package and upack it anywhere.
There will be three files:
- ms_.nbf
- HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
- ER2003Edit_1_4_26.msi
First of all, install ER2003Edit_1_4_26.msi.
When installed, click on ms_.nbf file to open it with ER2003.
Now, open any graphic editor to make 240x320 file, and save it as BMP (it's important).
Now, in ER2003 click on Splash Images and then click on Load Bitmap, there is 2 same load buttons, you should load both of them.
When loaded, click on File menu and Save your rom.
Now, go into bootloader mode in your himalaya, run HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, click next, wait and then click upgrade.
You won't lose any data
When done, just unplug your device and JUST restart, co cold reset, no hard reset, just reset.
Watch your himalaya working with new bootsplash
Enjoy

[JAN25][FLASHABLE BOOT SCREENS] android boot screens

Hi Wonderful HD2 Android Community.
Now that Android is running on NAND smooth enough to be a daily build, I decided to create some boot screens to remove every last trace of "Stockness" from my HD2.
I have created two boot screens to replace the standard white HTC (or operator) screen which appears when you first turn on your device, before MAGLDR starts.
These boot screens are a simple and classy. Sample JPEG images are attached below so you can see before you flash, along with the ZIP files for each boot screen.
Any boot screen I post has been tested by me on my own HD2, so there shouldn't be any issues. However, flash boot screens at your own risk. I do not take any responsibility for any damage to your device. Flashing boot screens voids your warranty.
Please note: I am hosting these files on my own server so I can track download numbers, so these are all direct links to the files. Not links to download sites. Safe to download at work

Instructions for Win Mo 6.5.x users (Flashing using CustomRuu.exe) - Not sure why you would want to use an Android boot screen if you are still running WinMo though.
* Make sure your battery is at 50 percent or greater before beginning.
* Whilst the device is in Windows Mobile, connect your HD2 via USB.
* Connect device with 'Windows Mobile Device Center'.
* Run the CustomRUU.exe (with administrative privileges)
* Press update
* Success!
Instructions for NAND Android/WP7 (Flashing using CustomRuu.exe)
* Make sure your battery is at 50 percent or greater before beginning.
* Completely power off the device (unplug USB connection if present)
* Press down the "Volume down" and "Power/End" button simultaneously.
* You should see a red, green,blue and white screen with the word "Serial" in the bottom.
* Connect your HD2 to the PC via USB (the word "Serial" should be replaced by "USB".
* Run the CustomRUU.exe (with administrative privileges)
* Press update
* Success!
I hope you like these boot screens. I will be adding more over time so stay posted.
If you appreciate my work, please use the "Thanks" button or if you feel inclined, consider a donation.
Thanks!

Very Nice hope you come out with more
is there a chance for us to replace your boot screen picture by another picture in that .zip file then?
I'm not sure what yo mean. If you create your own NBH file with the image you want to flash, you can use the CUSTOMRUU.EXE to flash it.
Great work dude, Keep it up.
Going to try these later, thanks a lot

I'm pretty sure that I've heard that the cyanogen skateboarding dude is integral to the initrd.gz file. You'd have to have a developer cook up another one for you. After that one, there is a bootanimation file that you can change yourself with root explorer or droid explorer.

[SPLASH] WP7 Logo

Since WP7 on the HD2 has become suitable for daily use, I decided it deserves it's own splash screen.
I am attaching a tested flashable NBH file (and CustomRUU.exe).
NBH is the splash screen that appears just before MAGLDR (not to be confused with the actual OS splash screen which is after MAGLDR and is individual to each rom and determined by the chef).
I would really like it to see chefs use it, but I can't control it... There's a possibility of creating a CAB for CAB-pushing supported roms, but I don't know how to do it.
Just flash it like you're flashing a winmo 6.5 rom (Just run customruu.exe).
No settings will be lost.
I Attached a clean version and a version with the WP7 motto: Put people first.
Enjoy guys, hope you like it.
PM me for the PSD.
Tsury.

i flashed the first splash screen and it worked, then i tried flashing the 2nd splash screen, and it did NOT work.
what i did was remove the first splash screen nbh file from the folder with the customruu.exe and put in the 2nd splash screen nbh file in the folder with the customruu.exe and executed customruu.exe and when it was finished and the phone booted nothing had changed. what gives?
thank, great job
It seems there are 3 logos during the boot up.
1. the first static logo when power on.
then, Magldr displays -- not logo.
2. a black logo shows "htc" ---- it's not the second splash logo I want..
3. the second splash logo as you posted.
So, How could I change the second black logo displayed after Magldr?
Any one has the same problem?
