Volume Levels - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi Guys
I dont know if this is me but, it looks as if you cant change the system volume to the phone ringing volume. I know there is a tab over to change them both but the volume slider adjusts them both as the same time.
Im running an orange Diamond using
Orange Rom 1.37.405.1

Hi Sutt,
There're two volume settings: 1 for ring, 1 for system; I hadn't seen any UI that allows both to be set at the same time.
Under the Sound UI, you'll see the Ring Volume. Just "thumb" the screen up to see the System Volume. Or press the volume buttons to access the System Volume UI, and then immediately press the left arrow button at the top-left-hand corner to access the Ring Volume UI.
I set both to 80% most of the time. But when on wired ear-piece, I'll put system down to 5%; when in-door, ring to 60%.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Adjusting volume increments

Is anyone aware of a way to change the system volume increments when using the up/down keys on the phone or E100 remote?
The volume can be adjusted more finely with the touch screen, but this means taking the phone out and fiddling around a bit. Some are finding the lowest volume you can get with hardware buttons a tad too loud with noise canceling phones that sit in the ear canal.
Thanks
Would be VERY usefull....
I too am wondering that. I looked in the tweaks section and searched around but no concrete answer for it.
This would actually be very usefull!!!
Don't sweat it Guys.
Both default volume bubble and HTC Volume Control controls the volume in following increments: Vibrate>Silent>20>40>60>80>100. There's no other way to fine tune it.
Maybe the HTC Volume Control UI is a bit misleading, but if you tap with the stylus, you'll see and hear that every procent has 3 corresponding lines.
If you tap it, you can get it in 1 line increments, this is not a misleading UI, it adjusts the volume in 1 step increments. You may not be able to notice it with the phones speaker but you sure can with earphones.

Click to collapse
Exactly.
If You listen to music 3bars is often too loud but 1 or 2 is perfect. So a solution for this would be very helpfull.

Also looking for a solution to this problem...
I have a touch pro2 and as you describe here the system volume can be changed 1 bar at a time with finger.
But it can also be changed 1 bar at a time pressing the volume buttons (or volume buttons on headset) IF the screen is turned OFF. If the screen is ON the buttons will move it 3 bars.
If the phone is locked then it does not matter if the screen is OFF, it will still move it 3 bars at a time. So right now I never use the lock on the phone as I need the 1 bar step size when listening to music with my headset.

How do I bring up the System Volume screen without tapping the side button?

Hello guys, I'm experiencing a minor issue with my ROM. Sometimes when I reboot, if i tap the volume key on the side after rebooting, the keypad lights will turn on indicating i did tap it, however, the system volume and Ring volume display would not appear on the screen. And after that the phone goes super slow. I tried to hard-reset it once but it's occurring again.
I do know there is a way to adjust Ring volume without that screen, but was wondering is there another way to adjust the System volume without tapping the side buttons?
Thanks
Sounds strange. Which ROM are you using?
You can adjust the volume by tapping on the volume icon in the taskbar.
using dutty V3.6
thanks let me try that now..
thanks i got it.. seems like tapping that works for now, if i got further problem i'll post again
thanks again the_scotsman

Strange In-call volume behaviour

I have the following problem:
I call a number and set the in-call volume to any level and wait for the HTV volume screen do disappear.
1. Sometimes as soon as the volume setting screen disappears the volume gets reverted back to the lowest setting. --> I have to keep presing the VolumeUp button in order to hear the other party.
2. Other times the volume is kept when the control disappears However, when I want to set the volume again it forgets my previous volume setting and starts from the lowest setting again.
3. Sometimes it even displays max volume on the screen but I hear that the lowest setting is selected because the volume is very low. I also cannot increase the volume because it thinks that the highest setting is selected. I can press volume down and volume up again, which solves the problem.
I like the design of the HTC volume control, so I do not want to revert back to the default WM volume slider. However, the UI of the HTC volume control is not in correlation with the actual volume level. Any suggestions?

[Q] Help With Volume and Keyboard Issues?

Hey everyone, just want to address a few problems with my new Captivate:
Volume:
-For some reason, adjusting the Media Volume also adjusts the In-Call Volume after saving the settings and going back into the menu. I've installed apps such as QuickSettings and Audio Manager in attempt to rectify the issue, but, to no avail, the higher/lower the Media Volume, the higher/lower the In-Call Volume is in the settings when I go to adjust them again.
-Whenever I use the AT&T numbers in my Contacts list (I.E.: to check minutes/data used etc.) the phone automatically turns down my Notifications volume after dialing the codes.
Keyboard:
-The Andriod keyboard has an issue with turning off caps if I hit the key immediately after tapping space. Doing so on the Samsung keyboard turns on caps lock. Annoying when I'm texting quickly and have to slow down just to capitalize one letter. :-\
Are these issues common, or am I the only one? Any known fixes?
I know that when I'm listening to music the volume goes up right before a call( because my Media Volume is not all the way up but my In-Call Volume is) after the call my media volume returns to its normal state after half a second of music replaying.
In short, I don't have that problem...

No sound control popup or actual volume change when using volume buttons

I'm running COS 6.1 A.10 on my unrooted/unlocked European X2 Pro.
When I press the physical volume buttons, I very often don't see the sound control popup. Sometimes it appears and I can change the volume, but in most cases it doesn't appear at all. It doesn't make a difference which app I'm using - YouTube, Prime Video. I don't have an active BT device linked or a headset plugged in either. Quiet Time is turned off, all volumes in Sound & Vibration are turned to medium, the default function for volume buttons is set to Media Volume although nothing changes if it's set to Media Volume.
I used to have MacroDroid to change sound settings based on time/location/events but that's uninstalled. I still have Do Not Disturb which mutes my phone during calendar events. Regardless of any such apps, I should still be able to use the volume buttons to adjust the volume but there are no popups most of the time.
I just restarted my phone and the volume popup is back. I know this happened before but after a while it's gone again without knowing why. Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason and how I can get my volume popup back permanently? Thanks for your help.
