Choose handset or bluetooth - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Is there an app that will allow you to choose between the device or a hands free Bluetooth headset?
One of my favorite features of the iPhone is that when you are paired up with a Bluetooth device, and you receive an incoming call, you can choose to answer the call with the handset instead of the Bluetooth device. I would LOVE to have that functionality on my Kaiser.
Thanks,
Luke

huh?
when you push the answer button on your headset it uses it. when you press answer on your phne it uses the phone...
at least that is what mine does.

Same here.

When I have it paired to my car that's not the case. If bluetooth is on around my car, (Range Rover) and I use the answer buttons on the phone, the car system still gets the call, not the handset. I have to turn bluetooth off to get the call on the handset.

Athena with LG Style-I and Jabra BT8010

Hello!
I own a Athena with Wm6 and bought a LG style-I and it really worked ok.
Yesterday, just bought the Jabra bt-8010 for car and music and it works ok either.
the problem is that i've paired both of them, LG for headset and Jabra for headset and wireless stereo.
The thing is that when both are connected, I cant make either to work at all.
can't I have both paired as headset and pick up a call or dial from which i need at the moment?
sometimes I prefer the remote, others the headset... I dont want to have to power off one to use another and neither unpair one to work with another!!
How do you deal with this situation?
thanks
newbie
It is impossible to have both baired as hands free for phone calls.
You have to choose one as the phone can not accept two connections to two hedset the same time.
However, you should be able to pair the LG as handsfree for phone calls and the Jabra as stereo headset for music ...
How do you guys do?
Is there any way that I create a shortcut in today (with Ilauncher, SPB Pocket PLus or another) to simply switch between them?
Or.. With phone alarm, depending which profile I'm using, choose the headset I'll use with phonecalls.
What I mean is, for profile home and work use the style-i for car use the Jabra.
And listening to music, of course use always Jabra...
See you

why you want to complicate your life??
the easiest way to proceed is to have your bluetooth switched on on your HTC. You turn on you Jabra, and a single brief click on the multifucntion button will connect the Jabra to your HTC. The same with LG, you turn it on and a single brief click on the multifucntion button will connect it ot the HTC.
But keep in mind that if one of the two is already connected, you have to switch it off to be able to connect the second one.
so to resume, you HTC bluetooth is on.
At home and work you turn on the LG and a brief click on the multifunction button and it's connected to the HTC.
In your car, you switch off the LG and switch on the Jabra, a brief click on the multifunction button and it's connected to the HTC.
hope this will help you

Any way to switch BT handsfree back to handset

I have searched and cant find any general way to switch a phone call on my BT handsfree back to my Tilt handset. For instance, if I try to leave my car after starting a call on my BT handsfree, I have to end the call and redial it away from the car. I wonder if anyone knows a way to toggle the BT signal back to the phone handset so that it no longer plays through the car system. but do not disconnect the call. Thanks very much!

See this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321115 , post #4, for a small add-in to the phone menu that allows you to toggle bluetooth on and off while in a call. I've seen the website where this comes from, but can't remember or find it right now.
When in a call, goto Menu, there is an option to "Turn Hands-free Off".
Buy a decent carkit with this function. I have a bluetouch carkit and it has a button for private calls. So i can switch between the phone and the carkit.

Thats what I do!
Did you not notice it in the menu during a call?
Thanks very much
I appreciate the help - I am stuck with an internal BT system in my car that is vintage 2001 and has little flexibility - if I install a new unit, I loose teh system integration that was standard on the car.
I have searched and did not find the simple solution you all suggested - I am embarrassed that I missed the "turn-off hands free" option in Menu!! I will try this - hopefully it does not disconnect the call.
Thanks very much and happy holidays!

Auto hands free when receiving a call?

T-mobile MDA Compact IV.
SwiftBL WWE 16mb v6.5
I have an 'iqua' fairly cheap bog standard bluetooth headset.
When I make a call with the headset connected it works fine. When I recieve a call, the ringing comes through the headset, but when I answer the call its coming through the speaker on the phone and not the headset. I have to hit options then hands free to get it working.
Very annoying when I'm driving because Tom Tom flashes back up before I even get the chance to enable the hands free...
Tried panosha's rom as well, same thing happens..
Anyone know an app or registry edit which will solve this problem?
Thanks in advance!
Bump. Should I just buy a different bluetooth ear piece?

I think yes. I have a Motorola bluetooth handsfree and it doesn't have this issue.
I have the same issue with my Jabra headset, a solution would be nice.
I'm having the same problem with a Sony headset.
You synchronize the headset and suspend the device. Once an incoming call arrives, the device wakes up, the headset rings (so it's working) but once you accept the call, it won't transmit the sound using the headset, you need to do it manually.
this sounds like a configuration/software problem, anyone has ideas, Please ?
with my jabra BT125 headset, if i press "answer call" on the phone, I'd have to go through menu and select handsfree. If I answer the call by pressing the button on my headset, then it routes to the headset. Have you try answering the call by pressing whichever button on your headset?

Yes i press the hardware button on my headset to answer it (which works). But it still doesn't enable the handsfree. Could this be related to the cyberon voice command ?

[Q] transfer ongoing call from bluetooth back to phone?

Hi,
I have a Blue-tooth hands-free set in my car.
I often need to walk away from my car during a phone call.
It also happens that I am a few yards/meters away from the car when I make or get a call. when this happens the audio goes to the BT headset, but I can't hear it or be heard because I'm not near it.
So how can I make an ongoing call move from the BT handsfree back to my phone?
It has to be done from the phone only. No pressing buttons on the headset itself etc. (as I explained, I might be far from the headset and the car may be locked, etc.)
ThanX in advance!

Bluetooth switching on incoming call with tasker?

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to 'switch' my Bluetooth devices when an incoming call comes using tasker?
I currently have an Android headunit in my car but the quality is terrible, the person on the other end complains about an echo every call. I still use the headunit to stream audio though. I've given up on fixing the headunit, so I've decided to buy a hands free kit for making and receiving calls.
So I want to be able to set something up in tasker on my phone along the lines of "if incoming call, then connect to X Bluetooth device (hands-free)". Then after the call the Bluetooth will switch back to the headunit when the hands-free device is powered down.
Does this seem plausible? If not I will just have to do all Bluetooth through the hands-free kit.

Could do, but the lag might be problematic.
What I do is long press the device in the Bluetooth list and deselect media sharing for the headset. Then deselect phone & contact sharing for the head unit.
This works to route calls to my headset in the car.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have done similar with a Bluetooth speaker at home that I didn't want to do calls on. Would my phone (Nexus 6p) allow/need to be connected to the headunit and handsfrer at the same time for your suggestion to work though?

Yes, you can connect to both. I do it all the time. If you wait for a call to come in to connect to a device, you're likely to miss the call. Tasker would have to recognize a call coming in, then connect to the hands free unit then you answer the call. Lots of steps ☺
