Need help!! - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Hello Guys,
I have the cingular 8125 G3 and I need to load a rom into it. I have try to load 2 diferent roms but neither worked. I have followed this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310831 but nothing.
Here's the thing, after I load the rom the screen says:
IPL 1.01
SPL 3.08
GSM 01.12.10
OS 1.5.4.2
Any help I would really apreciated. If you want I can donate too.
Thanks

Try to flash back to Button's ROM, then try to use Wizard Service Tool to unlock CID and verify that CID is unlocked in WST.
After unlocking successful, you can flash with any ROM you want.

Thanks for the answer.
Now, just for my records, how do you flash back to buttons rom?
Is it to flash the original rom?

You already got IPL 1.xx,there's no need to flash back to Button's Rom,just try to CID unlock with WST Tool, hope it'll work out.

I tried that but the thing is when i turn on the device it comes up with a screen and the info I've said before. It doesn't go anywhere else. Just to that screen that have this info in red colored.
and everytime i want to flash a rom into it, the device says flashing from language cingular, and it never changes. How can i put it back to factory default?

Thanks for all your help guys, I couldn't fix it so I sold it as is.
I really appreciate what you have done.
If there is anything I could do, let me know.
Have a great one....

First enter bootloader by pressing Camera+reset. After enter the tri-color screen, flash with Button's ROM.

If you haven't already, go to the thread for how to CID unlock your phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435
Since your IPL is 1.01, you can start at step 4. The key is that after you run lokiwiz, you need to get your SPL down to 1.x also, so you'll need to flash the Button ROM. A few people have mentioned they have had to flash it a number of times (like up to 8 times) to get both IPL and SPL to go down to 1.x (not sure why, but its happened a few times). AFter you get both IPL and SPL down to 1.x (on only after both are at 1.x) then continue with those instructions to flash an official ROM (the TMobile 2.26 one is linked in that thread and is a preferred one to use no matter what carrier you plan on using). Once that is done you will have a fully functioning phone running the latest official base rom. From there you can flash other custom roms if you so desire.
Good luck!
sorry, I didn't fully think about what your first post is saying. To do what I said above assumes you can use the phone in the current condition, but now I don't think thats the case. You should grab the Button ROM and flash it to see if you can get it to function (just flash it directly at the Boot screen). If that doesn't work, go get the TMobile 2.26 ROM and go ahead and try flashing it. if that doesn't work, then find and flash the Wizard Love rom. After getting one of these to work (and one of them should) then follow the CID Unlock procedure exactly (to downgrade, run lokiwiz, downgrade again, upgrade to 2.x).
further info
Thanks for getting back to me much appreciated.
I was under the impression that lokiwiz will not work unless your machine boots up?
Mine gets stuck on the initial button loading screen (beer glass)???
Will check through your link, i have been doing lots of reading etc, but cant find the definitive answer.
help
ahh, thread cross over
Will try the love rom.
Keep you posted.
Once again thanks.
tried Button Rom
Still stuck on the magic beer glass
5th time or re roming.
Cant get love rom quickly enough.
If you can do Torrents, search for Wizard_Love on PirateBay. Then just use uTorrent or BitComet to pull it. Its seeded and shouldn't take too long.

Why are you doing shell tool with a G3 (I've seen where some G3's have been bricked with shell tool is used on them)? Did you try to flash the Wizard Love ROM? That seems to help in a lot of situations.
So again, more info helps. What is the exact error you are getting. And what rom are you trying to install? Is your phone CID Unlocked? May be worth trying to go back down to the Button Rom and doing the CID Unlock again.
PROBLEM SOLVED!
i dont know what was wrong..really..i just restarted my comp...and downgraded to a stock rom..and it worked fine!
man you have no idea how much i was freakin out..
thanks for all your help! i really appriate it!

Expert Wizard Challenge

Hi all, i am stuck, i need the help of the experts in either saying my 2 Qtek 9100s are bricked - chuck them or, they are retreivable.
Here goes:
2 X Qtek 9100 made by T-mobile - emei if needed.
Both devices stuck on the boot screen, but will both go in to Tri colour screen for flashing, but fail flashing (with several roms), i think they have button rom, its a beer glass.
GSM: - 01.12.10
OS: - 1.5.4.2
ipl 1.01 and spl 2.24
Can these be revived?
Thanks.
A Wizard by T-Mobile is a "MDA Vario", you can't have a Qtek9100 by T-Mobile. Anyway..
Have you tried flashing official ROM while they are in bootloader mode (tri colour)? Does the flashing process went smoothly? Does the IPL/SPL change when you flash the latest ROM? Give more info.

At present both of them are stuck on the info below, i cant reflash them with anything else now.

Since your ipl/spl are 1.xx just follow the sticky by Dr. P at the top of this forum. You will start at the step running lokiwiz as you don't have to downgrade. Then upgrade to an official 2.xx rom. After that you can flash a custom rom.
errors
Various error messages with various roms.
Invalid vendor
Invalid nkbf file
Upgrade only
I believe that these devices were upgraded by a user who perhaps did not fully unlock them.
Is it possible these devices would exhibit these error if they were flashed with a G4 rom, or would they just not boot if that was the case?
Thanks ALL

Well, the only difference between a G4 and a G3 rom is that the G4 rom will not contain IPL/SPL. If you flashed a G4 rom in a G3 device you are fine. If you flashed a G3 rom into a G4 device then you have bricked your devices.
In your case you haven't finished the unlock/downgrade process. like mentioned above you seem to have missed step 16.
You need to re-flash the button rom to get both the IPL and SPL to 1.01. Once that is done then flash an OFFICIAL carrier rom (T-Mobile 2.26 suggested). When you have completed that then your IPL/SPL will both be 2.26. From THIS point you will be able to flash a custom rom, you will have no success until then. The unlocking guide that is stickied contains everything you need to recover from your situation.
The 2 steps that most newbies forget is to downgrade a second time to get IPL/SPL to 1.01 and after you are completely unlocked then upgrade to an official carrier rom that includes IPL/SPL (note this unlocking procedure is not for G4 devices -- doing this will brick them) Once your IPL/SPL are 2.xx THEN you can flash custom roms.
Unlocking them
Thanks ZZan, i think though i have actually blown the rom with button, but it does not bring the ipl/spl down to 1.01, it appears to blow the rom and complete 100% reboots and comes up with button Beer glass and goes no further.....
Err help?

Have you tried booting into bootloader and putting your carrier's latest rom back into it? I would suggest this. If all works and you can get completely back into the phone, you could try to unlock again starting from the beginning.
The only way you could have really hurt your device is if it was a G4 before you started, or interrupted the flash process while the bootloaders were being written. I don't think it would even boot up to that screen, or flash to 100% if this were the case though. It sounds like a bad flash from the first button attempt. I would suggest using a carrier rom from the carrier that the phone is locked to to get it back to working status. Once there then you can try to downgrade and unlock again.
Are they G3 or G4
How do i tell again, something to do with the ipl/spl revisions?
You can also try re-downloading the button rom and performing the downgrade again. I have the button rom in my sig. it's possible the rom may be damaged in some way.
G3 or G4.. from the wiki
A G3 Wizard will have the following
IPL: 1.xx or 2.xx or 2.xx.00x (Note that this version only has TWO 0's.).
SPL: 1.xx or 2.xx or 2.xx.00x (Note that this version only has TWO 0's.)
A G4 Wizard will have the following
IPL: 2.xx.000x (Note that this version has THREE 0's.)
SPL: 2.xx.000x (Note that this version has THREE 0's.)
button rom
Any ideas where i can get this rom from?
thanks.
Ignore me
just seen it on your footer
It flashes but....
it goes all the way through 100%, reboots and sits on rom boot screen exibiting:
IPL 1:01
SPL 2.24
GSM 01.12.10
os 1.5.4.2
And a nice picture of a beer glass....
Help, should i reflash again? i Have done it 3 times and it still sits on boot....
Thanks.

You said your phone was a T-Mobile phone. Flash the T-Mobile 2.26 rom and see if you can get it to finish booting. If so THEN you can retry the button rom. You are in a corrupt state right now. Whatever caused it, it doesn't look like the button rom is going to recover you from it. Flash the official carrier rom for your phone and get it back to working status first. Once you can use the device and phone then you can go back and start from the beginning of the unlocking thread.
T-mob original
I have tried T-mob original (RUU_Prodigy_2210206_22102109_021911_TMO_UK_WWE_Ship.exe)
[294] invalid vendor ID
I have tried t-mob (RUU_Prodigy_1060204_105_11210_TMO_UK_Ship.exe) using NoVendorID and nk.nbf from above rom - Flashed 100% complete - rebooted - stuck on Button boot screen (beer Glass) and not booting.
Button itself will flash, with the same result, looks like its doing it then reboot, halt on beer glass.
I have i trully bricked these two? i cant have they flash and go to boot loader surely they would not do this if i had totally bricked them???
Help....
T-mob
Weird, it has upgraded the IPL to 1.06 (from 1.04) though, does this mean anything to anyone?

Can someone point me to an English version of this? The only one I can find linked on this site is http://rs25.rapidshare.com/files/17792050/Wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WWE_Novii_CF2.rar. This is in another language (Italian maybe) and I keep getting a "300" error. Thanks.

Are you sure you have a G4 ?
No, I have a G3. But according to "How to flash a new ROM to your Wizard... a little tutorial!" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613, if I have an IPL/SPL of 2.xx, I need the wizard_love rom. Read last sentence of G.2.
I used the button ROM. It brought my IPL down to 1.01, but my SPL is still 2.25. Is that OK to proceed?
Keep reflashing the button ROM until both your IPL and SPL are 1.xx. It may take a few times. I think I've read where it's taken some people as many as 7 or 8 times to get them both down. Be patient and make sure your battery is good and charged and when you get them both down, then run lokiwiz to unlock your phone.

After at least 15 flashes with button, still no luck. I started with Cingular 2.25.
The button I am using is CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe.
My IPL is down to 1.01, but my SPL is still 2.25. How in the world do I get passed this?
It really sucks when you can't get past the first step .
P.S. Should the SIM be in the unit during the flash? I've tried it both ways.
Not sure if it matters if the sim in is in it or not, but make sure your SD card is out because that causes problems a lot of times. Here, download and try this, it is an IPL/SPL updater only. It has version 1.05 of both which might be able to bring your SPL down so you can unlock your phone.

Tried it several times. No luck, SPL still stuck at 2.25, but thanks for the help. Anyone else out there with this problem?
That's weird, usually it happens the other way around and people get their IPL stuck at 1.xx when they try to upgrade back to a 2.xx but the SPL upgrades without a problem. Since you already have the button ROM on there, go ahead and try and see if it will CID unlock for you. Run lokiwiz and see if it gives you any errors and if not, download and install Wizard Service Tools on to your computer and then run it and click the CID actions button to see if it tells you that your CID is unlocked. If it does then your safe to start upgrading. For some reason I have a feeling it might just work for you.
same here, got the cingular 8125 and flashed the rom. I can not get the spl down. I have 2.25 as well. ahhh what other rom should be good for a cid unlock

That doesn't matter.
Try flashing Tmobile 2.26 then again the 1.05 Button ROM
From what i know the Wizard Love is only for G4 Users. G3 users should flash Tmobile stoc 2.26
not all g3 are the same!!
i have experienced the same with my g3 (IPL/SPL 2.18) when i tryed to downgrade the spl... ipl 1.05 and spl 2.18 still remain... just try to unlock spl with lokiwiz02b and relax... i tried to install tnt 5.0 23 times before i unlocked the spl... just read and apply this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435
i downgraded and reupgraded my spl locked g3 (qtek 9100) in 45 minutes at the state of art...
-----------------------------------------------
tnx to all people that try and try and try and teach us with his experience...
I have found that the SPL doesn't matter. Go ahead and run lokiwiz and you will be ok.
yeah i got throught just run lokiwiz02b cid unlock and then update to tmo rom

AKU3 stuck

format is failed after a power outage in the middle of ugrading with shell tool.
made it worse bu trying to flash with tmobiles latest rom.
so now i'm stuck in boot screen with the following
Device is g3 with
IPL 3.08
SPL 3:08
GSM 02.69.11
OS 3.8.2.1
did i mention CID unlocked?
please advice
rephrase
Let me rephrase the question.
I have a friend who saw me use shell tool to upgrade my cid locked wizard.
He went home to try the same on his cid locked g3 wizard.
he had bad luck and it was interrupted mid way through so he brought me his dead wizard.(stuck on bootloader)
The only official rom i had was Tmobile's 3.08 so i flashed it to try and revive it.
it flashed and finished but still stuck on bootloader.
when i try and hard reset it says "format is failed".
button rom wont work, wizard love wont work, sd method wont work as it is cid locked.
Any ideas?
And if none, will imei-check work..
Get the official stock ROM for his Wizard, then flash it and you will get a working Wizard back.
However, if the IPL and SPL still stays at 3.08, there is possibility that IPL and SPL not downgradeable, so unlocking may not be possible.
Another thing...by CID unlocking the Wizard, there is no reason to use ShellTool while you can actually use RUU directly! Using ShellTool may lead to incomplete update!
Not yet home
Hey, the stock rom (tmobile 3.08) succesfully flashes but the wizard still doesnt boot. it gets stuck on the first screen.
Any more ideas?
BTW i'm very experimental so i'll try anything..
Hi,
Have you tried to flash the wizard with Hard-SPL or Soft-SPL.
I had the same with mine wizard (G4) but Hard-SPL worked for me.
You have a G3 so I don't no if it will work. Otherwise read this thread first post
Hope it will work.
