i download a song on 4shared on my tilt, and it saved it in some weird folder. on the screen it says its saved in \my documents\\ storage card\my music
i have no clue where this folder is, ill go back up to the root and then storage card but its totally different. If you notice there is two \ instead of one so i have no clue where it is, i want to delete the song but i cant find the folder, i do know the song is still there cause i can see when i click save as
use a file explorer like Total commander, resco explorer etc..and search for the song, you'll get the folder...delete it...

sorry guys, but i have searched repeatedly on how to do this and came up with nothing.
is there a way to use mp3's as ringtones from the MicroSD card? i tried everything and i dont want to fill up precious memory on the phone with mp3's or cut the bitrate down to where it sounds like a bunch of midi files. paste a shortcut maybe? is there a app that can do this? i already know where to put them on the phone to use them, i want to directly access the mem card for ringtones, it doesnt ever come out of the phone anyways.
my Sony s710a read all the ringtones straight from the memory card, how in the world can i get the kaiser to do likewise?
thanks
I haven't tried this on the Kaiser just yet, but putting them in the root directory of the SD card has always worked for me, for the other HTC phones I have.
I haven't tried this yet, but in the "Audio Manager" application it shows me all the songs which are available to WMP (Inc. those on the SD Card) from here I can hold down on one with the stylus and I have the option to "Set as Ring Tone"
just make a folder on your sd card called "My Documents" with a folder inside that called "My Ringtones" ---- any song you have in my ringtones folder will show up on your ringtone list
go to the HTC Audio manager, select a song (mp3) you want, go to menu and select set as ringtone, then you will get the option to use as default ringtone or to copy the file to the ringtone folder.
Hi all,
As obvious from the title, is there any tweaks available to make the HTC Audio Manager to search ONLY the My Music folder in the Storage Card? I have other applications which use lot of voice files, which are not actually music. So, the playlist on the Audio Manager is messed up. At the moment the audio manager searches all voice files in the Storage Card. Any input will be appreciated.
Cheers
i could use this to hide porn
Go with registry editor in HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager\Config\
And edit : "device_scan_path_path" and "device_scan_path_path_0"
Type : "\storage card\my documents\my music" or the path to your music on sd card.

Thanks. But it doesnt work. I tries soft resetting and also renaming the folder with voice files in it. AM was still clever to find the renamed folder on the SD card! Anything else???

Can a similar thing be done with Microsoft Windows Media Player?
It does the same thing as AudioManager when you let it add music on its own - puts every ringtone and system sound in there too - what a mess!
The only way I've found to avoid this is to never click "Update Library" - instead always use Media Plaer 11 on my PC to sync and orgainize songs and playlists.
I don't see similar registry settings in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer . . .

You have to clear the list first.
How do you clear the list?
Double entries

Ditto for me and my Tilt
You get double results because it searches twice the same place. Try different registry settings for each.
For example for device_scan_path_path put \My Documents\My Music and for device_scan_path_path0 put \Storage Card\My Documents\My Music.
This way it'll search both your phone memory and your storage card. Basically so you can have two different places to store music.

Someone tried this?
Not working for me - I've just set the two values to \My Documents\My Music and \Storage Card\My Documents\My Music, removed the card and started Audio Manager to wipe the titles (\My Documents\My Music is empty so it just shows "No titles found" and doesn't show any tracks), did a soft reset (proper power button cycle) and checked the values were still set in the registry, started Audio Manager again for good measure, closed Audio Manager, re-inserted the storage card and started Audio Manager again...
...and it's still pulling in tracks from my ringtones folder and the odd stray podcast hanging around in \Storage Card\program Files\RSS Hub .
this works for me
This works for me
HKLM\Software\HTC\AudioManager\Config\
"device_scan_path_path_0"="\my documents\my music\" or the path to your music on sd card (without \SD Card). must ends with "\"
"device_scan_path_path" leave as is or enter path on you phone memory (must ends with "\")
but be sure that AudioManager doesn't running while editing.

tried that, didnt work either still finds everything
Why is Audio Manager so popular?
I can't play half my music files with it. I can't get it to find my library changing the registry values mentioned. It doesn't play anything over 192kbps. It doesn't even have the option to open a file directly! If it's not in the library then it can't play it.
Maybe I am having teething problems but the only thing I like is that its free but since pocket player can play almost any format and any bitrate and picks up all my files in its playlists I thought for $20 it was worth it.
Is it because I have and older version of Audio Manager? Can't change it without flashing my ROM so don't want to do this at the minute especially if I am going to have all the same problems.
Sorry, saw this discussion too late and did already start one here:

Please, where should we continue?
And how can we solve this problem????????

Well, to approve this really works for you, can you please copy just one mp3-file to root of memory card and soft reset? If the single file is not shown afterwards, then this really works for you. Otherwhise it just scans all the audio-data on your memory... See this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=462531 I am trying really hard to get the problem solved....
1) Download/rip whatever your music into WMP
Before you sync anything go into the WMP library on the pc/laptop
2*)right click on the song you want to sync
go to advance tag editor
if it has a picture, make sure that picture type is "front cover"
if there is no picture there, click add
if files come up in that window then view them as thumbnails (to make sure the picture is correct)
If there is one called folder.jpg, click add and make sure you select picture type as "front cover" If there isn't one called folder, then click another one, preferably with large in the title.
if no files come up in that window then you have to go get yourself an album cover picture.
go to a site like this one: http://albumart.org/
and find a cover, right click on it and choose "copy"
go back to your library, right click on the 'empty' CD icon where it says paste here, and choose "paste"
then go back to 2*)
then put this song in your sync list and the album art will sync along with the song.
it's a long process for a whole album, but it works and hopefully someone will come up with a way to tag all the tracks in an album at once!
Catching up on this thread,
I have tried this and found that when I have put the 'album.jpg 'file and set it as a cover(Front) for each mp3 when I go back the .jpg file as gone, regardless of which .jpg file I use!
I have tried to select all files and then use the advance tag editor but the same problem comes up?
Am I doing something wrong?
I don't know why it's not working for you, it worked fine for me. It's a right pain! Why doesn't it just work?!!!!!!!!
Sorry, I can't help you with this, maybe someone with more knowledge than me can step in?
I'm using MediaMonkey, it's the best tool for arranging, renaming, id3tagging and album adding tool there is.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/
Here's a video on how to.

May I ask what version of WMP you are using, I am on version 11 and the jpg just disappears when I go back to look at the picture tab?
Very Bezar!
I have tried MM before but not looked at the tag element fully, which I will now do!
theres a much easier way, a way that doesnt require you to embed all files with art.....
folder.jpg
then copy and paste the artist/album folde
copy and paste where, because I have tried 'moving' the folder.jpg file on to the device, also renaming it to ~hTC_folder.jpg (or album name) (which the Diamond seems to do) and the other jpg files including the large and small?
mediamonkey is awesome.
it can automatically find the albums on amazon.
amazing. already did 10 albums

Copy and paste into a folder on your internal storage.
Create a folder called MUSIC on the route of your internal storage. Then in that folder create folders for each artist, eg BOBBY BROWN, then within that another folder or folders for album/s eg DONT BE CRUEL. Put the album MP3s in DONT BE CRUEL and dump a folder.jpg of the album art in there.
Done.
Thats how I organised all of my music for years, folder.jpg - so all I do is copy and paste the album, I dont use this Window media player sync nonsense.
Ok, that's interesting will give it a go as well as looking at MM. Cheers People.
I try to copy a mp3 file or a shortcut to the folder \Windows\Rings, but i cannot choose a mp3 in my telephone.

internal storage\my documents is the right way to do it because after a hard reset you'll still have them there and you don't use precious device memory.
Tank you!
After hard reboot i found the rings from \windows\rings too (not the shortcut).
But the internal storage\my documents is the right way!!!
If you want to put them on your device memory, the correct location is \My Documents\My Ringtones.

This might work for rings, but you will find it untrue for SMS notification.
In which case, "My Documents" root will work.
SMS notifications are put in windows folder inside internal storage
When I add a .wav file to my windows directory, I can not see it in the phone options to use it as ringtone.
Can anybody tell me how to add this wav as a ringtone?
Thanx RObert
Convert to mp3 or wma.
I just found out that if you put a .wav file in the windows/ring folder, you can select the files.
or, better (in my opinion) into the internal storage/my documents. they are much easier to find/replace (opening windows directory takes a long time and finding something there is a pain in the a..s.). also, this way after a hard reset or flashing a new ROM you will not have to copy them again and as a bonus you'll have more memory in the "device".
