I have searched for this problem and also tried different camera versions on my Kaiser. The camera button will not activate the camera or take a picture, it will :-
focus in on the item in the picture
make a click when pressed
bring the kaiser out of low backlight when pressed
I have checked the registry setting from a post were the user had a similar problem...
Any ideas anyone
Start -> Settings -> Buttons || Make sure Button 5 is mapped to Camera
I just have to point this out. Congrats Satan.

I was worried about that. As soon as I saw it, I was like "OMG I need to create another post real quick!" But I didn't want to get accused of spamming for the sake of increasing one's post count...
Wait, isn't that what I just did here?!?!?!?!?
I had already checked that button 5 was assigned to Camera, I even assigned it another function and then back to camera. Still not working ! The button is physically working as it clicks and brings the HTC out of low back light, but will not activate camera. Any other ideas...

I know this sounds silly. But press it all the way in. It has two stages this button. Half Press and Full Press.
You are a star Mr Mcgee ! I wasn't pressing the button hard enough, silly me
Thanks

Is tere a small program (kind of like vibra switc) that if you pres it, it just closes all programs like instead of going to start_settings_system_memory_close all. i'd like to assign it to a button. thanks
wktask has that built in its features. You can either do a gesture to do close all or just hold the top corner(where the x would be) to close all programs.
its free at http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
It's in my original TyTN II without any custom ROM.

Thanks. I already have the HTC manager but i want to ditch it because it's really slow. I just want a really simple 1 icon program that shuts off all current running programs. Basically i assignt it to the PTT button and it shuts it all off. I don't want a separate manager that does it, i already have that. Thanks
So there's no such app?
this is what you want, I along w/many others use it and it's great, the close all is just a small feature of what it does. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-wktask-v1-1-7-3b.html
Thanks for the link, but not what i want. Just a simple close all program (few kb's) is what i'm looking for.
for me i once used "zapIT!"
but i guess since i´m running netcf3.5 it is not working anymore and freezing your device.
you can assinge it to a hardwarebutton also...

Ah i see. I use aebutton plus for what you are talking about. I have a long press of the Ok button to close the app. But i need one that stops all current running apps.

Well, for starters, you DON'T open a new thread about the same old thing. You reply to the OTHER thread you started and ask for help.
By doing it in this manner you keep the forums clean and easier to use for those members that care to use the search button and for those that care to read before they decide to just go and tear into their machine before researching.
its not the "same old thing"
The other thread was about the actual PTT Program on the phone...This is about my messed up registry and the PTT Button, there is a difference there bud.
No, there is not really a difference.
Your messed up registery is due to what you did in the OTHER thread.... BUD!
Reply in the other thread so that anyone willing to help a BUD out will know what you did to get this error message!
This thread indicates... OOPPS! WHY AM I GETTING THIS ERROR ALL OF A SUDDEN?
Well, if someone knew that you deleted something out of the registery it will help solve the riddle BUD.
Go to the other thread and ask for help.
ooooo ok sorry

Now THAT is how you get help!
what app did you display the icons at the bottom?
tvos
looks like a bad shortcut. if you are launching that app from the systray, make sure the path to the shortcut is correct. are you using phm traylaunch? if you are, maybe you made a typo when typing in the full path of the app.

Hello there!
I have a kaiser and I use it with a BT stereo headset (HBH-DS220)...
I was wondering if it is possible to remap the buttons on the left side of the kaiser to control the music and volume... for example... "voice speed dial" button would be Skip, the jog dial volume and the OK would be Previous...
I tried using the search function with the key words "Kaiser Button Remap" but i didnt find anything, so I decided to ask to see if anyone knows how to do..... Pardon me if i didnt see a solution.
Is there a way to do it? Is there a software for the kaiser to do it?
Thank you!

Don't have a solution, but trying to clarify that by "BT phone (HBH-DS220)" you meant "Sony Ericsson HBH-DS220 Walkman Stereo Bluetooth Headset", i guess.
oops sorry.. you're right.. ill correct that!
AE button plus has pretty much all of that and plus more!

Nice! I installed the software, its pretty NEAT, but its not exactly what I am looking for.. I would like to be able to use the keys when the phone is playing songs in the background...
Thank You!
so i've heard about some download mode you can get into if you press the home button + power button + volume button all at once while the phone is running.
this is supposed to be helpful if you wanna root it and newer models of the i9000 can't get into that mode - what happens with those? nothing at all?
so i just got one and if i press those three buttons i get a screen with the little android dude on the left and a yellow text that reads:
it says FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING
i can post a picture later once im allowed to.
does anybody know what "FORCED UPLOAD by KEY PRESSING" means because I've no clue
like this one from the Wiki?

You want to get into the download mode the phone needs to be switched off before you press the 3 keys.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Cicincho... May I ask what you mean by "the phone must be SWITCHED off first"? Do you mean that the "device" needs to be turned off or do you mean that you have to essentially puth the phone into "airplane mode" so it has no signal to get into recovery mode?
This may sound like a dumb question but I have been to many bell stores who are out of stock on the actual devices themselves but have the instore display models and EVERY one of the display models I tried went into recovery mode EVERY TIME with the 3 buttons.
Hmmmm... Does ANYONE have any feedback to provide here?
Sorry Cicinho... Seems I may have misread your post as now I see that you were talking about download mode and not recovery but I am still wondering about this being a possibility as to how we can get into 3 button recovery. Samsung Mobile Canada on facebook says that they are working on a software update to fix this issue so I wonder if this could be the cause of this issue?
Still curious... Any ideas?
I have the same issue no difference if the phone is on or off.
Closing this....there are multiple threads already on this same topic....please search before posting a new thread like this.
Anyone know if this can be changed through settings (or even an app of some kind)? I can't find anything on it.
I really miss this feature from my S5, especially since I don't ever use split screen which is the default for longpress on the S6
also searching for a solution

I agree. Sorry no answer... but I have seen several threads elsewhere on the topic and this is driving me nuts. From a user perspective: I was previously able to surf on my phone and bookmark / share via the menu key with only one hand. Now I can't because of the change in this key. This is not just a case of stubborness: one handed usability is important for many groups - from the physically compromised to late-night-feeding mothers. I hope a developer can offer a work around soon.

If you're willing to root, you can install LMT for one handed control, including menu button access and the thumb reach stretching pointer.
