Hi,
I just got the Diamond and have a few newbie questions..
I flashed the Diamond V2.. really so much faster compared to the given one!!
1. If i flash again with radio, will all my settings etc be erased?
2. Anyone knows if can change sms tone?
3. How to keylock this phone?
4. Can I create a new folder in SMS inbox?
5. Can i hide my SIM card messages instead of showing it in the SMS inbox?
6. Can I edit what to be shown on the Main Screen instead of "Call History" and "Calendar"?
Thanks!!
Sms Tone
Start - Settings - Notifications
Event: (drop down list)
Select Messaging: New text message.
Can I create a new folder in SMS inbox?
Yes
Tap on Messages tab. Tap on All Messages. Tap on Menu - Tools Manage Folders
Use your stylus.. place it on Inbox hold it there for a few seconds.

Welcome to xda-dev,
Please, do a search before and read the manual of your device ...
Have a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_usage
Some answers, cause I'm a nice guy :
1- No, without if you have to use HardSPL hacked before.
2- Yes, go to your phone settings.
3- By pressing and holding the hang-up button.
Etc ...
Thanks again for your fast replies!
For Keylock, when i hold and press tha hangup button, it will go to silent & vibrate mode instead...
Can I create a new folder in SMS inbox?
Yes
Tap on Messages tab. Tap on All Messages. Tap on Menu - Tools Manage Folders
Use your stylus.. place it on Inbox hold it there for a few seconds.
Pop up menu - New Folder
I selected all of the messages but the "Manage Folders" still cannot be selected..
Can i change the sms tone to my own mp3 tones?
Thanks!
Hi kawatsu,
read this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2450240&postcount=27 for how to enable "Manage Folders"

Hello :
Im trying the Tytn tweek and its not working on TYTN2.
Can you help ?
Thnks
try this i think it is what i used. if not i know there is a reg edit out the re that works cause i got rid of it on mine. it did take me a while cause i kept putting in the wring info. also soft reset for it to work.
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
full instructions:
Make the following adjustments to get rid of the "SMS Message Sent" popup that appears after sending a text!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
Name the New Key as "Settings"
Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled.
Thnks . It worked.
Half the time people say the answer for this lies in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. The other half say it is the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Right now I put the fix into both, and the result is that sometimes I get no notifications for sent messages, but unfortunately I also get no notifications for some things that I DO want notifications for, such as new SMSes being received.
Anyone else suffering from this?
You call install Tweak2k2.NET.These is a selection there to remove the SMS Sent Notification with no problems.I have tested it.
Hello
I have 2 little questions that bug me a little bit and which i cant find a solution for (and yes i know where the search button is located ).
Situation 1
When im at the today screen (http://www.cryptex.be/tytn2.jpg) and i press the sms icon (the one in the middle under my clock), it goes directly to the inbox of my sms messages, which is great.
Now when i press the email messages icon (the one on the left under my clock), it doesnt go to the inbox of my emails (which i would like it to do). Instead it shows the menu SMS/MMS - Email example - "my emailaccount" - New email account. So i always have to press "my emailaccount" to go to my inbox. In the options menu i already disabled the option "show account chooser when opening messages" but then i always get redirected to the inbox of my SMS messages.
So in a nutshell, i would like it to go to the appropriate inbox when selecting the icons on the today screen:
- SMS inbox when i press sms icon (which already works)
- mail inbox when i press mail icon (which doesnt work atm)
then question nr2
When im calling the screen always, disables within like 10sec or less, which is very annoying when calling your voicemail and you have to press some numeric options. I always have to turn the screen on.
Maybe someone can point me how i can keep the screen enabled ?
I solved my problems now. By searching in the registry and then hitting the words in the seach option on this forum, i found a solution to both of my problems
I've made myself a little textfile where i keep my registry tweaks now
Its very hard to look for something on forums when you dont know what you actually are looking for, so for those who also want the solution for my 2 problems:
Code:
- Launch the e-mail inbox instead of the account chooser when clicking the mail icon
* Make sure the "E-Mail Sample" account is deleted out of your accounts.
* Make sure Outlook is set up to check your mail (only if using Outlook).
* Edit the registry key HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCHome\Home\AlwaysOpenMailFolder
from "1" to "0".
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1658855
Code:
- Prevent Screen Going Off Durning a Call
* Edit the registry key HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\EnableFastDormantDisplayDuringCall
from "1" to "0".
Source: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=339309&highlight=EnableFastDormantDisplay
PS: my respect for all the people on the forum putting time and effort to make it possible to do all of this
I wonder if these tweaks could make their way into the next upgrade of Kaiser Tweak? I'm sure many people will find them both really useful.
Rob F
Woops, I've just noticed my device doesn't have a Home folder under HTCHome.
I've done a search for "AlwaysOpenMailFolder" which I don't see to have anywhere else in the registry either.
Should I create the \Home\AlwaysOpenMailFolder key and then set the value? What sort of key is it (e.g. binary, string, dword)?
Many thanks
Rob F
Try this and see if that works

That seems to refer to the HTC Touch app, which I don't have installed.

Just a quick note of thanks for taking the time to document the solutions that you found. I see too many threads where someone tracks down their own fix but they don't take the time to share it for posterity.
Hi!
I'm quite desperate. I'd like to start SMS on my Kaiser with one or two clicks. So please recommend me how to make my SMS box the default message box (I'm not using MMS, who does anyway... I mean SMS are so much more popular) and/or direct "Compose a new SMS" or so. I also use HTC Home. Ideally I'd like to add a button in HTC Home which would directly open a new SMS (not MMS).
And yes, I did use Google "site:forum.xda-developers.com Kaiser SMS" + various combinations of words "default", "folder", "quick", "fast", "button", "MMS"...
I also tried several registry and other things tweakers.
Thanks
Btw, if you could recommend an application for quick taking notes, something like primitive drawing or so... PhatPad maybe?
um htc home (with the big clock) has it with one click..
I don't really understand your request, but this might be what your after? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
EDIT:
Also,
When viewing your SMS's do: Menu, Tools, Options and Untick "Display account picker when opening Messaging".

Try installing HTC action screen. It will map the left softkey to be able to create new mms/sms/email/apointment/contact, all with one click of the button. That might be what you're looking for.
Hi,
I am also quite desperate for this. I will try to explain what is that we are after.
When composing a new SMS message we need to follow the following steps.
1. Go to Messaging Application
2. Select SMS \ MMS
3. Click on Menu
4. Click on New
5. Now we need to select SMS from the list that shows MMS / SMS / Voicemail.
Now here is the problem, we would like to have SMS as the first option if possible (It helps save the click I need to do, if I am using the D-Pad), Alternatively, a direct link to just start composing a new SMS message directly without going through multiple menus.
Thanks
Manik
Hi,
I missed the link of my previous post (#3). Sorry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2287306&postcount=6
The link was to a CAB to create a "New SMS" link on the left or Right soft key.

wow, from the main screen I tap 4 times with my finger and I'm good to go. That really isn't that much work.

Well, I click on the the envelope icon (1), then I have to click on "Menu" (2), "Go To" (3), "Text meddages" (4), "Menu" (5), "New" (6). This makes SIX clicks.
for me,
Envelope, menu, new, and sms..
Done.
After clicking the envelope, if it opens to email press the 5 way to the right and it will bring up SMS.

sorry for offtopic, but isn't that Silent Bob?
I could not find a way of doing this in the standard software. I also have WebIS Flexmail 4 installed which can also access the SMS folders. I created the folder using that. It then appears in the MS messaging software.
Thanks. Standard software via 'manage folders' doesn't work.
I downloaded Flexmail, but somehow it failed installing on my Kaiser. :-(
Hi there
The open sms inbox > menu > tools > manage folders etc. method worked fine on WM6.0, but not with threaded messaging on WM6.1 - so, use KaiserTweak (or whatever your favourite software is) to disable threaded messaging, create your subfolders and then re-enable threaded messaging...
Worked for me!!
Thanks - that worked. In threaded messaging the "Manage folders" option is greyed out, but in normal view it's available.

I did that and I got the folder created, but when I switch back to threaded sms i can't move messages to the folder, the move option is greyed out.
Sorry for this basis request - but how do I cut and paste text from a website/doco/email etc etc and paste them between SMS and emails etc?
Have read the manual and tried touch and hold, drag to highlight etc and nothing seems to work
Thanks
Google search found this:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...+copy+paste+Galaxy+S&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au
But it only applies to copying text from a webpage - nothing about copying from one email/SMS to another??
Surely it must be possible - iPhones can do it dammit
I don't see any select text feature on the built in email & gmail app.. but for SMS, there is a "Copy Text" feature and if you want to select a text, forward the message first then "Select Text".
cut /paste from other sources, for example a browser , is being added in android 2.2 . thts so far what i know
I got Froyo on the SGS, so I've no idea what here is new and what was already there on 2.1.
1) Browser - long touch anywhere on the page opens a small box that you can drag to surround what you need, and then you got copy/share/search.
2) SMS - inside a message - menu > 'copy message text'.
3) GMAIL app - inside a mail - Menu > more > select text. You drag to select and it's copied to the clipboard (no share/search/etc, only directly copying to clipboard).
4) A long touch on any input box brings up a select/copy/paste/cut/etc context menu.
I'm still trying to find a way to copy/paste from a gmail chat...
