oh , and sorry for my poor english help plz (
Try...
Apply the tweak.. and then restart your phone. (not hard reset just switch it off and then on again).
Might work, might not work.. but while you are waiting for others to come up with a solution, why not give the tweak another shot.
All the best
thanks for replay.
which tweak u mean?
Wake Up on New SMS --> HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL : DisableSMSWakeUpEvent <-- set to "1" by default. Change value to "0"
Also when you disable threaded sms; notification breaks!
See thread: WM 6.1 how to disable threaded sms without disabling sms notifications?

Don't use the tweak put up in the thread you quoted. Set that value to the default value.
There is another way to disable threaded messages
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\OEM
Create Registry entry
SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
Set Value to 1
Restart the phone
This way.. the Wake on Sms Tweak does it's job
implying..
unthreaded texts.. and notification on Sms
i make the changes in registry and the threaded mode is disabled but still have the problem.
i wonder why my device has a such a problem ?!!
no one have new idea?
that's not fair heeeellppp plzzzz (
go to settings / sound and alerts and flag sound allert on "new sms". Worked for me.

thanks for replay but i try that before.
i don't know what should i do with this silly problem
i had the same problem but it was becouse of registry edit. I wanted to turn off threaded sms (chat) in registry and thats why i had no sound for new message. Maybe its also a solution for you.
P.S
mayby one of programs u have installed disabled chat function. check in registry this: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/software/microsoft/inbox/
mark SETTINGS (but dont enter) and there you have value SMSAvailable. must be set 1. then restart
Good luck
Messages go with SYSTEM VOLUME, and no with RING VOLUME

I have the same problem before
Firstly, you can try the following registry to disable the threaded sms:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s\OEM\SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
DWORD value set to 1
Then, set the following registry and restart your phone, now the sms alert/sound/vibrate are also existed.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSAvailable"=dword:1
I fixed the SMS alert problem on my Touch Diamond
Hi,
I managed to fix it on my touch diamond
I installed SPB phone suite from here
http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/phonesuite/ and did the soft reset when requested.
The problem disappeared after that.
I then un-installed it and the sms alert still works properly.

Hello :
Im trying the Tytn tweek and its not working on TYTN2.
Can you help ?
Thnks
try this i think it is what i used. if not i know there is a reg edit out the re that works cause i got rid of it on mine. it did take me a while cause i kept putting in the wring info. also soft reset for it to work.
Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.
full instructions:
Make the following adjustments to get rid of the "SMS Message Sent" popup that appears after sending a text!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
Name the New Key as "Settings"
Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled.
Thnks . It worked.
Half the time people say the answer for this lies in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder. The other half say it is the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Right now I put the fix into both, and the result is that sometimes I get no notifications for sent messages, but unfortunately I also get no notifications for some things that I DO want notifications for, such as new SMSes being received.
Anyone else suffering from this?
You call install Tweak2k2.NET.These is a selection there to remove the SMS Sent Notification with no problems.I have tested it.
I have tried everything! Sounds & Notifications. Sound on, off, vibrate. When I receive a new text message my phone will not vibrate. It will vibrate for a phone call or any other notification, but not a text message.
Any help please?
Just to verify, you did go to Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications (tab at the bottom), select "Messaging: New text message" in the "Event:" drop-down list, and select the box that says "vibrate"? If yes, do you have any other sms software installed that may be overriding the WM vibrate instruction?
What program did you install?
Mine won't either, ever since I installed the threaded messaging (palm) app. I dunno how to get it to notify me that I have a new text message, either.
Does it vibrate when you click on the inbox?

Did you go into notifications and choose specifically the incoming message that says Palm in it??

did you by any chance disabled the threaded sms?...if yes then use the latest kaiser tweaks xml file and change it again...you will get back your vibration and sound
hello,
i have exactlythe same problem, it wont vibrate when i receive a text message, but it vibrates when i get a call or whatever. if i set the notification on a sound it will play that sound whenever i get a message.
i got the newest rom version and i have kaiser tweak installed.
I hope somebody can help me.
I have just been playing around with duttys latest ROM and KaiserTweak and Schaps Advanced Config. I have now noticed that when I recieve an SMS the icon in the top task bar doesnt appear and there is no vibration/orange flashing light.
I have checked in Sounds and Notifications under settings and for new text message everything is ticked. Is there anyway to check these settings in the registry?
At first I thought this was a problem with duttys ROM so flashed back to my Stock Vodafone UK ROM. I then recustomised it (disabled threaded SMS and simple stuff like that) and it has now happened again.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any suggestions at all would be welcome.
what are you using to disable threaded sms?
uninstall your method and install this cab file.
many people are still using the method that disables notifications.
I went into the registry and set SMSAvailable to 0
I really hope this is the solution so I dont need to send my poor phone off to vodafone to be mutilated.
Will give this method a try in the morning
SMSAvaliable disables sms notifications
so restore that key to default and install my cab and it'll work
(or atleast it 99.9% should)
sorry to bump but did this method work for you?
Since i have installed the official WM 6.1 ROM i have no SMS sound.
The sound settings are correct. (vibrate, play sound, show light and show on display).
Nothing works, i only see in the htc homeplug tab that i have a sms.
The seccond thing that when i recieve a sms that my Tytn resumes from standby, so i call everybody.
Anyone a solution?

i struggled with this problem for days.
when you turn off threading, you will hear no sound, vibrating or other notification.
i found a way to use the function and also show sms in the "old" not threaded style.
now my phone rings and vibrates on new text messages. hallelujah!
i edited my registry with "Schapp's registry editor"
first i changed the "SMSAvailable" value to "1":
["HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
name="SMSAvailable" value="1" datatype="integer"
i don't know why but it is required for notification sound and vibrating again
now i wanted to have my messages in the "old", not threaded style.
for this i created an new key "/OEM" with following value:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM]
Name: SMSInboxThreadingDisabled
With: dword, 1
after editing my registry i did a soft-reset. not sure if necessary
yeah! now i have my text messages shown in "old style" and notification works fine.
You are the MAN!
Thanks usukk, it worked perfectly for me!!
cheers
This is a quite old thread, but I searched for it for weeks...
YOU are the one The one who made my SMS ring
Thanks a lot. One problem less on my To-Do-List.
Greetings
Hellmachine
realised that once i turn threading off, there's no vibrate or sound alert for incoming sms.
was wondering if anyone can recommend how to circumvent this as I prefer unthreaded SMS
thanks!
edit: i'm 1.37 ROM

Here sound (and maybe vibration... can't remember) works just fine, even with the threaded sms off.
Of course I also used the tweak to wake on SMS.

my problem is the same whether i used that tweak or not
how can I disable SMS threading?
I had same problem when i edited in the registry editor, to remove threaded sms. There was no alarm and vibration.
Then i made a hard reset, and everything went to standard. Then i did the registry edit to remove threaded sms again. And now it's working well. I have alarm and vibration and no threaded sms
I would loathe to do that cause i already Hard Resetted twice (once because of this). Besides there's no gurantee it would work!
it would be nice to be able to do this without additional apps!
