A possible fix for GPRS problems.
I have noticed that if I boot my Alpine into “safe mode” provided by the new SPB Pocket Plus, my GPRS works great. Normally I would have a problem of the GPRS only working after a fresh reboot and then not connect a second time unless I was really lucky.
I deleted the reg key, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\CallerID] and it seems to work fine now.
Hello,
Well I got a GPRS problem to, but I think I found a solution.
I must disconnect the GPRS connection BEFORE to switch the mobile off. If not, I cannot reconnect as you...
My 2 eurocents ;-)
Eric
If this works I'll have to buy you a beer sometime.
A while ago I upgraded my ROM, and didn't install all that crap at the first boot. GPRS was working fine after that, so I thought it was the upgraded ROM. The other day I formatted it again, but let it install everything. GPRS was having that "reconnecting for the second time" issue... So I knew it had something to do with some of that software... but which? I wasn't feeling like formatting it again...
anyway, I'm trying this, and see if it works for me.
man... I love you.
I've got tears in my eyes and all...
Hi
When i want to connect GPRS network on my htc touch diamond, my phone connect EDGE instead of gprs and the E icon show on taskbar !
and ther is no internet.
Please Help me
Hi from Spain...
Recently i have bought a 2020i ( really was a gift from girlfriend) , O2 totally free. At least and according to different post and advised i have just configure it and install recommend programs so it running perfectly. Everything was oK till i change mobile company from Vodafone to AMENA ( spain).
Now , and i dont know why , i have a "G" icon in the top. According to different post it means i have the posibility to connet a GPRS net and is constantly "searching" for this GPRS net. I have note too that bettery is going down and down ( usually i finish daily use of PPC with 75-80% of it and now , for example is 52% and day is not finished).
My question is if there is any way to remove this "G" icon and change the way the PPC search GPRS net all the time ( enable, for example this option). I know that this "G" icon doesn´t means i am connecting to GPRS ( i do not suffer for my montly bill¡¡¡¡  ) but for me is very important not to finish with battery life ( i have no chance every day to charge it) . Dont mind if is necessary to change key in registry but need to finish with this problem.
I have been searching for past post to try to solve it but...( correct me if necessary) i have not found anything about it
thanks in advance and go on with it...( you know how helps this forum for beginners like me)
Hi all again...
Going to make an autoreply
I have installed this program: GB SOFT TWEAK. Whit it i have been just solved the problem. This program allows two important ( for me ) things:
1- turn off GPRS connection or signal if you want
2- Not to search GPRS net when radio turns on.
Of course , G icon has disappeared and battery life as been improved a lot.
Hope this post solve this problem to anyone more.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I am having trouble sending and receiving MMS and, it seems my Hima gets connected and when i send or receive MMS it gets stuck, the highest i got was 65% then line drops and i can't connect, need to reset the phone or wireless.
The error message i got :
"the answering modem has disconnected. To chk your connection settings and change them if needed, tap settings
Cannot connect for an unknown reason. To chk your connection settings and change them if needed. If the problem continues, reset your device according to mftr doc and try again"
Same goes with GPRS, the page load then disconnects.
Been trying a lot of Radio.rom to no avail, i've tried 1.08, 1.17 , 1.18 and 1.19 all with the same issues.
I've checked the setting i've tried using the network wizard and also tried configure it manually (according to my network setting (MAXIS)
i've tried C_ShekharAKU7.0b.R40 currently using Tofclock WM6 0.70,both with same results ... its not the Os ?
Appreciate if anyone could tell me what else do i need to check.
Thanks ...
-Erman

You're funny: your thread title says your Diamond is broken.
Then, you tell us how it fell down the stairs and you can't make WiFi work.
What do you think we can do for you?
Your Diamond apparently needs repair, you can't repair hardware with software, so your post is pretty much pointless, sorry to say that.
Or maybe try throwing it upstairs, it might do the trick..... But do it with wifi disconnected!
(It's how I try these days to recalibrate the gsensor...)

ROFL!!
thanks for the funny answer guys ...
The question is maybe someone as already disassemble it and the wifi part could be disconnected by the shock ...
Or by software .. make a sort of hardware diagnostic ..
I live in a bungalow for just that reason. However you could take a look at the Diamond service manual which is available to download from the wiki.
Update :

Try looking in here:

This may have some answers for you. Hope this helps.
If I remember correctly, the Bluetooth/Wifi antenna is a combined one. If both fail, I guess it's just disconnected or the connection is severed.
First, sorry for my English - i'm from Poland.
So, i have HTC TyTN II Kaiser and WM6.1. I have working Wi-Fi, but in my school it's not working correctly. In school I need my ID and password to get to Internet, but I don't know where is this option in Kaiser. My pocket see signal, but when i try to connect, the signal is lost (red X). And if I want to get to this network in my school, I must install certification (name PJWSTK CA - my school), I install it but it's not working. My friends, with laptops and Windows XP/Vista can connect and they don't have problems.
I try to find some application to more options for my Wi-Fi, wireless etc. Something, what can help me to connect to this network. Maybe something, what make signal stronger or something...
I hope you guys understand me and help me.

Anyone, please?...
If you go to settings > connections > wifi > power-mode
you can increase the power of the wifi by choosing 'best performance'.
Other than that i cannot help you, sorry.
best of luck

My only suggestion is to talk to the school, perhab they have a tech that can help you out. I don't think its a software issue so I would definately hunt around campus and try to find the right person to help! I hope this helps!
Thanks, but it's not working. I find something else. I must install certificat.cer and I do it, i have message "Installation OK" but when I try connect to WiFi, they wan't the certificat. It's crazy :/
Have a look here:
http://www.jacco2.dds.nl/networking/windowsmobile-certinstall.html
You usually need several certificates, the root one of the school, possibly a second one for the certification authority, and your personal one.
We don't have personal certificats. My school have only one and nothing else. My teacher told me today, that he's PDA working correctly but he don't remember how he do it. I'll be know that after 3 weeks. So, I must wait.
Thanks you all guys for help.
