So I got a Jawbone 2 the other day. Had trouble with it staying paired with my Tilt, then found the HTC Bluetooth fix here on the forum. Everything started working great! Then noticed that the last few times I launched TomTom, it could never acquire a signal. Went for a drive yesterday, and the GPS only finally kicked in almost an hour into the trip. Everything was perfect from then on.... Until I started using my Jawbone again. After a few calls, TomTom couldn't even find the GPS hardware this time. I ran the GPSTest app (also found here) and it couldn't see the hardware either. Settings are COM4 38400 BAUD.
After a Soft Reset, GPS is back. I tried searching for this issue but didn't see anything. Could it be both BT and GPS are trying to use the same COM port? Where do you select the COM port for Bluetooth (or is that necessary)? Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a solution? Thanks!
GPS Bluetooth conflict
Has no one else experienced this? Maybe it's something to do with the Jawbone 2 headset? Can someone recommend a different BT headset that works well with the Tilt that I can try? Thanks!

I used many BT headsets w/ my Tilt (Sony Ds-205, HBH-980, JVC-BT1 ...etc) and never had a problem w/ GPS. Proabably some problem w/ yr rom/software installed.
I have this issue... Kind of.....
Hey just thought I'd let you know I have a similar issue my Tilts GPS can take 20 min. to get a lock if I have bluetooth on, and as soon as I turn off Bluetooth I get a lock almost instantly. Still confused as to why, but I just thought I'd let you know YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

Hi all,
I have posted this question also over a 4winmobile as I cant access xda-dev from work. Hopefully someone here can help.
I've been having difficulty with my Kaiser and a Parrot MK6000 car kit. I have tested the carkit with a Nokia as well, and have some results to report to aid in troubleshooting.
The Nokia was paired with the Parrot MK6000 kit, answers and makes calls and streams audio no problem. When the car is turned off, the pairing ends, when the car is started again the pairing starts back up ... auto, no probs. In addition, if you make a call with the phone, at the end of the call the pairing is ended, but within a few seconds is re-established.
On my Kaiser, I can pair the phone and car kit, but if the connection is lost (ie the car is turned off or bluetooth is stopped on the phone) and then I turn the car back on, it will not automatically pair. It attempts to, the car kit mutes the car radio and plays a tone, but the pairing is not established by the phone. It continues to do this every 30 seconds or so, but does not establish a connection.
Also, if I make a call with the phone when it has been sucessfully paired, on ending the call, the phone will not re-establish the pairing.
My conclusion is that all of my troubles relate to the fact that the pairing will not re-establish once lost.
Is anyone able to assist? I have upgraded the Kaiser radio to 1.27.12.32 (yes ... just tonite, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349528&page=2) but have also tried radio roms 1.27.12.11 and 1.27.12.17 with no success. The ROM version is 1.81.861.0. Ive also tried installing some of the BT stacks that were developed up for the Hermes with no success. I've also installed Jetware with no sucess.
Getting very frustrated!

Hi, thanks for that pointer ... most of what is described in that MSDN library isn't in my registry.
Im going to manually insert them all and see what happens.
A
Still no luck
I tried updating the Reg with the tweeks as suggest ... but still no luck. All i get is still the initial pair, but on disconnection, no automatic re-pairing of the device to the car kit.
Im doomed at this stage.
You're not alone. I have the same problem with my Motorola S9 headphones and Microsoft SYNC in my 2008 Ford Edge. Sometimes I have to turn BT on and off a couple of times for it to connect.
agreed
Turning the BT on and off a few times has also be part of my "solution" package.
This really isn't acceptable though. This device should automatically pair up, just like every other BT device does. BT is a protocol that should be adhered to and just work.
I have also tried this on my other WM device. It pairs a little better, but is not great. I've tried compairing the registry values of that device to my Kaiser, but I just dont understand the functionality of the reg settings enough to work out what to change.
Is there some developer out there who can help? This type of problem was experienced by us all back in the early days of the Hermes and this community sorted it out.
Can any developer out there help, like working out a port of the Widcomm BT stack for Kaiser?
a
Interesting. I have a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth car kit and the Tyn II has re-connected/connected to the kit every time. Actually more reliable than my SE K800i. Sorry that it doesn't help you.
Hey Juzzman,
nah, that doesnt help ... but does increase the frustration level!
Seems like you need to have a Nokia component in there somewhere for it to work ;-)
Anyhow, Im still convinced it is a bluetooth stack problem in the Kaiser. I'm going to try flashing one of the AT&T based roms and the other radio version and see what happens.
Cheers
Adam
I've had BT issues with all of my HTC devices, it's very frustrating.
Currently I've got a Kaiser (Orange), E650 (Orange) and a new S730, none of which work on my Pioneer headunit without Jetware.
The Kaiser with Jetware pairs up ok, but the sound is really tinny.
The E650 with Jetware sounds fine, but I can only send 150 contacts to the headunit.
The S730 doesn't pair, haven't put Jetware on it yet.
In the past I've had BT issues with M3100, C600, C500 etc etc.
Why the hell doesn't MS sort out their bloody BT stack!!!
Bluetooth problems
I am having the same problem with my JVC bluetooth unit BT1000. It will pair ok first time, allows me to make 2 calls. Will not the reestablish a connection/pairing. JVC worked fine with my sony erricson and nokia phones. Anyone found a cure to this?
Same problem with the stock AT&T rom (1.27.12.11) with the H700 headset.
Turn bluetooth on it normally sees the headset. If not turn it off and on again to get it to work. Once working it normal looses the connection after an hour or so.
Could it be a BT 2.0 Compliant issue?
I have posted this same problem earlier in xda-deveopers, on htc wiki and aximsite. Many people have viewed and are experiencing this same problem, but no one has posted any solution specific to my problem either. I hope a developer can solve this one for us. Is it a BT stack problem, or a BT 2.0 compliant problem, or a need for an updated ATT ROM to solve this issue? (I currently am using the stock ATT ROM 1.57.. that shipped with my Tilt.)
When I use my Motorola H700 with the Tilt the BT works fine, UNTIL, I use the voice speed dialing from the Tilt. Once I use the voice speed dialing directly on the Tilt, the Motorola H700 will no longer connect. I have to do a soft reset or go through the pairing process again. Once I re-establish pairing again, the H700 will continue to work fine, UNTIL, I use the voice speed dialing on the Tilt. Then we're back to having to do a soft reset to again establish H700 connection with the Tilt.
NOW, I just received a call back from an HTC tech who told me the problem is likely due to the Motorola H700 being only BT 1.2 compliant. He recommended that I try the Motorola H12, which is BT 2.0 compliant, but he could not absolutely guarantee this would solve my problem.
Does anyone know for SURE that the Motorola H12, being BT 2.0 compliant, will solve my problem? Or is there another solution?
Note: I have tried MS Voice Command 1.6 (full version), but the above problem still occurs. I have also tried Jetware, but again, no go. I am not sure that there is going to be an updated AT&T ROM to solve this issue either.
Additional Note: I have also tried other BT devices, such as the Jawbone, and the Plantronics Voyager. All do exactly the same thing as above.
Anyone have any solution? If the Motorola H12 is the solution, that would be great...
Thanks in advance.
I'm having the same problem with my new carkit. Did anyone ever find a solution to this??
I have a slight problem with my gps, i've installed TomTom 6 (not the newest ver.) The problem is that i don't get a GPS signal, It just say "No valid GPS signal" and I do choose TomTom Bluetooth GPS reciver. Is that correct?
I do have a problem with my Bluetooth aswell, my Sony Ericsson HBH-PV705 Bluetooth headset (handsfree) doesn't connect to my TyTN II. I belive there might be some kind of setting that i've missed...
It connected nicley with my Samsung that I had before.
And I have downloaded and Installed the HTC hotfix regarding Bluetooth.
I've tried the search, but I couldn't se that there was anyone else with this problem.
Anyone who know what to do??
First off, are you sure you really need to use the Bluetooth adapter for GPS? After all, it comes with a built in one... I'll show you my config to get an idea:
GPS Receiver - Other NMEA GPS receiver
COM Port - 4
Baud Rate - 9600
I recommend you download and run GPS Test if you haven't already. This will tell you what Baud rate and COM port you should be running on.
In regards to your bluetooth Headset, are you sure you're following the correct process for pairing the device? I remember setting mine up, it was a nightmare... until i read the instruction
I just got my tytn II and am having the same problem. I don't have TomTom, but my gps doesn't seem to work, I tried gps test but after 10 minutes it still didn't tell me anything. I can't get my headset to work either, I paired them, the phone recognizes it, but doesn't let me talk on it.
I think me and Lalla have the same problem, I can't figure it out though =/
Thanks in advance.

Firstly - have you got a TyTn or a TyTn II (AKA Kaiser)? As another poster says, why are you using bluetooth for GPS. The TyTn II has GPS built in!!!
Again as said above if it's a Kaiser you have use "other NMEA" as the device not bluetooth.
If Tomtom says "No valid signal" then it has found a GPS device but is waiting for a strong enough signal. The first time you set up it may take a long time to connect. Leave it in a place with a clear view of the sky. It will also help if you have run Quick GPS from your programs menu.

Did you change any settings in "External GPS"? This can cause connection problems. (There are fixes for it though).

Not sure if I changed it but here are the settings:
port: COM4
Hardware port: None
Baud Rate: 4800
manage gps... is checked
Thanks for your quick reply
I tried gps test but it took about 10 minutes to get 3 bars then I lost 2 :/
Maybe I just need to leave it out for a long time?

Actually, that sounds like it's working OK. You will notice that the Kaiser picks up and drops sats every other second. There is a thread about this someplace. In other words as you move around the sat signal will pick up and drop sats as you move (even if you are standing still) When using Tomtom or the like this does not seem to matter and it works very well.
I have found that when you first switch on the GPS make sure you have a clear view of the sky all around, then you can move to more obscured areas and it will hold a proportion of the signal. If you switch on in an obscured area, then it will take a while to acquire a fix. Running Quick GPS regularly will speed things up.
As a guide, if I switch on indoors it can take ten minutes even near a window. In the car it fixes in less than a minute (normally).
The exception is if I last switched off GPS some miles from my current location. It seems it remembers the sats position from when it was last used so if you switch on later some miles away, it takes longer - presumably 'cos it's looking in slightly the wrong place.
Mike
Ok, I'm trying GPS test right now, seems to working. Thanks for your help.
Any clue why my bluetooth headset doesn't work right? Their paired and the phone recognizes it, but I can't use it in a call.
Thanx for all the help from you all!
I've managed to fix the settings for my GPS so it works fine. But the problem with my Bluetooth is still there...but I won't give up!
go to youre bluetooth devices, find your bluetooth headset from the list and tap it. now check and see if both boxes are ticked, the stereo headset and the handsfree. now go back to the list and long tap on the bluetooth headset and set it to handsfree. that should sort it. if not try repairing it
Didn't work for me. My bluetooth headset only gives me a hands free options but it does not work. I tried it on another phone and it works fine.
Weird issue with new HTC ROM (version no. below) - anyone else got it or know a fix?:
If I make a BT call with WiFi on, the BT crackles and flits every second.
If I turn off WiFi it is perfect.
If I set WiFi to 'Best Performance', all BT devices are lost and disconnect.
If I set it to 'Best Battery' or the middle setting, BT devices reconnect.
VoIP calls via Bluetooth now crackle themselves to death, because such calls use BOTH Bluetooth AND WiFI simultaneously - shock horror!
(Updated post above with VoIP issue)
i was having the same exact problem, took me couple days to realize it was the wifi. Only thing ive been able to do(motorolla s99 stereo) is make sure my headset is FULLY charged before pairing. And (no fix here) i shut the wifi off when im in the field. There is a bug there for sure. Is it just too much for the phone to track the 3g, wifi, and duplex on the BT?

I have exactly the same problem. BT works great with my headset (Plantronics 8XX) and has good range and is very clear. My WiFi works great and has a good range BUT if I have both turned on my BT is useless. BT devices are not visible more that 30cm away and there is a major crackle even at less than 30cm. Took me a while to work out why my BT headset would not pair with my TyTn II and Plantronics could not help. Used to work with my previous TyTn II OK, so I did a hard reset and then BT paired fine. Then I realised it was simply that hard reset turned off WiFi so I wasted my time doing hard reset when turning off WiFi was solution.
I called HTC and they can't or won't help but they did say they would log it and look into it (do we believe them? ;0).
The BIG PROBLEM for me is using SIP/VoIP as this uses WiFi of course but because of front speaker issues on TyTn II it is very hard to use without a headset and sound it just not good enough most times to use on my unit. So BT headset is the answer but can't work due to this WiFi/BT issue.
I am going to try flashing various different radios this afternoon as some members said this may help but from what I have read on this forum it does not solve problem completely.
If not then it's back to my wired headset and looking like an 80's teenager when I am using VoIP.
Also I wanted to install Navizon and earn points driving around with my WiFi on but this would mean no BT headset so I can't do this.
This really is an annoying bug.
If anyone has a fix or has found something searching the forums that my searches have not found then pls let me know.
Thanks.
I have experienced few irritating problems with my Diamond when used in my Seat Leon 2008's stock head unit via bluetooth:
1. Phonebook is displayed always and I can call phones from there which is OK, however "Incoming Calls", "Outgoing Calls" and "Missed Calls" are not working always: sometimes I have those lists filled with the corresponding entries, sometimes all three lists are empty.
2. When I am running iGO8, the bluetooth connection gets connected and disconnected each 5 minutes or so.
3. The headset volume is really low. I didn't have that problem with my Sony Ericsson phones before.
Does anyone have any of those problems and know a solution for them?
Only thing i can say. Stock seat bluetooth is terrible. My brother has orderd a new seat and the dealer advised to choose for the pioneer mounted radio because of the known problems with the seat unit and the bluetooth functions of it.
try posting in the Accesories section, u might get more help.

Pioneer isn't that good either, I had the Pioneer radio with Bluetooth and I couldn't get it running with my previous phone Trinity P3600 and with my Diamond it didn't work either.
Willem
I have used the stock head unit previously with simple mobile phones and it has always worked perfectly and I was very happy with the bluetooth implementation in Seat. So, I think the problem is not in the head unit (i.e. an accessory problem) but lies somewhere in the "phonebook through bluetooth" implementation in the Diamond.
Hello,
I have the same problem. I have a Skoda Octavia II (2007) with built-in bluetooth and a Diamond (ROM 2.03).
I use the iGO8, and it works fine, but the bluetooth connects and disconnects randomly in all ~5 minutes. When I shut down the iGO8 or when it runs on the background, the bluetooth works perfectly, when it runs in the foreground, the bluetooth disconnects again...
Who knows wat is this problem? Should I try a new ROM? A new radio version? A new iGO version?
CyberGene: Have you a solution for this problem? Or you use a different iGO8 or a different navi software?
Thanks,
DuckHead_
Unfortunately I didn't find any solution to the problem. To be honest, I am currently using a SonyEricsson phone and the Diamond is used by my girlfriend. We are still using iGo from within the Diamond but with no Bluetooth activated.
Thank you for the quick answer.
Why don't you just take your car into a car audio place and get them to check it out for you
I thought it so that the problem with Diamond. The BT does not work only if running the iGO...
Hi, I am happy with GPS on my galaxy s and it seems to lock in very quickly. I have a slightly different issue which is a pain for me. With my HD2 I could connect my phone to my stereo via bluetooth and play music. While doing this I would use the GPS for copilot. With the galaxy s though as soon as the GPS fires up the BT connection with my stereo is dropped. Does anyone else have a problem like this? or am I being stupid and this will not work like it does on the HD2.
Cheers
Yes, I get this problem too!
I've posted eleswhere on this forum about it, but got no answer as yet. I'm using Plantronics Backbeat headphones, and thought they were just 'losing touch' with the SGS randomly, but since reading your post, I find they work fine until I use the GPS & then voila - no bluetooth connection to the headset anymore. The GPS in my SGS also works fine, BTW, unlike many others, by the sound of it.
Unfortunately, while I can commiserate (& feel a little happier knowing what's causing the Bluetooth 'drop-out'), I can't offer any solution, as I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a coder/programmer. Sorry.
