Hi!
I know I am supposed to press volume down and dow a soft-reset but this only boots my phone as normal soft reset. I do not see the tri-band boot screen that people are talking about. I have a Swedish phone ...

No offence mate. Everyone is more than happy to help, but it wouldn't hurt running a simple search first.
All the best.
I know its in order to insult people how do not search , but I was asking for the boot loader - not about Hard Reset
oops..
sorry.. haven't had my coffee yet
go to bootloader is:
Try this
hold down button and press (red) reset button
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395795&highlight=bootloader
(again got this from search too.. )
I have tried all of the buttons and no one lets me do a bootloader
Press Volume Down and KEEP it pressed until you get the bootloader screen. So...do not release the volume down after you've pressed the reset buton
That finally did it
thanks!

It dose not manual.
download the rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394985
then go into bootloader [looking for how to now] bootloader is tri-colour screen
and run the exe from that download
you should be ok after that
to get to bootloader, try holding volume slider down and then soft-reset, or try up and soft-reset
the bootloader is usually side-of-device button combinations.
if those dont work, try the ront buttons and the reset button
Rory
Did it come with a CD? I think there was a copy of the manual for my Touch on the CD that came with it.

I found that the manual is wrong. The way to perform a hard reset of the Touch Diamond2 is:
1. With the Touch Diamond2 switched off, press the volume up and down buttons simultaneously.
2. Keeping them pressed, use the stylus to briefly press the red soft reset button (you’ll have to remove the back of the Diamond2 to do this).
3. Release the volume buttons when a message flashes up to say, “This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel.”
4. Press the volume up button.
F******k...

Tried a Hard Reset??
You have to press (and hold) Volume UP+Down Button, and then press quickly the ON-Button. Hold on the Volume Buttons (but not the ON-Button), then there would appear a Text (After the Colored Bars). Then follow the instruktions.

reflash your rom should be a good choice now
Hardreset

Are your xperia volume keys working properly because it can be hardware issue....
To hard reset:
When you're holding the silver key buttons press the power button NO MORE THAN A SECOND. Just press it very lightly and it should hard reset your device. Again do not hold the power button when you're holding the silver buttons.

Are you using volume down?
Turn the phone off, hold volume down (and keep holding) then turn the phone on. Make sure it isn't connected to your PC when doing this.
Edit: Does it enter the bootloader correctly when you are using the Rom Update Utility?

At Whirlpool (Australian forum) we recommend using this Generic UK R1A Rom to recover from bad flashes.
Check the recovering from a bad flash section of this page.
If things go wrong we recommend getting your phone completely back to stock and trying everything again from scratch. Then step through to see what is causing the error.

Buzz buddy how i can know what is the version of the bootloader if i can not enter to him??
I try many times. press and hold Right volume key and press de power key. and release power after the vibration. I am tired of the SE logo jaja.
early i try again to load the X1_HardSPL.exe with the pc and i see the three colors screen in the xperia. the screen show a 0.52 thats its OK??
the thing is:
if you want to go into the bootloader you need to press and hold the power button and the volume button down untill you get into the 3coloured screen.
exactly thats is all i want but a can't
all The keys (Volumen, Power, silver keys) Works Fine in Windows Mobile. but i can not make hard reset with the silver keys and button power. or worse i can not enter to the bootloader mode with volume key and power key.
before all its ok but now its like the keys dont work at the start.
to do a hard reset I just keep holding both softkeys and then I press the reset button with the stylus.
try it this way.

Flash another rom using the Rom Update Utility and see if you can get the bootloader to load using the volume down and power buttons. It must be a software problem preventing you from using this key combination.
I can't seem to find how to start the bootloader without the key combination.
It might be worth sending OliNex a PM and asking for advice.

try a hard reset
Hard Reset (This cannot be performed while the device is connected/charging)
With the device turned off, press and hold the TALK/SEND and END/HANG UP buttons, then the press and hold the POWER button until you see this message on the screen.
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all settings to manufacturer default. Press ?VolUp to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
Release the TALK/SEND, END and POWER buttons.
Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.
(procedure found in Wiki)

IMEI can also be found behind the battery
Are you able to enter bootloader mode (restart the device when holding down the VOL down button)?
If so - load a GSM ROM to the root of your SD card. and name it RHODIMG.nbh instead of ruu_signed.nbh. Then enter bootloadermode. You will have to press the powerbutton to flash the "update", and then soft reset with your stylus after update (or take out your battery).
Hope it sorts out
Hard reset isn't going to do anything if you've put a GSM ROM on your CDMA phone. You should be able to get into the bootloader though, as Novek has said (try pressing "reset" with the Volume Down button held down), then you can re-flash a CDMA ROM.
Hi -
So I used the Super-One Click method to root my phone and the I wanted to make a Nandroid backup and went to boot to recovery and I got a screen with three android-dudes on skate-boards and a message that read:
"HERC XC SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.47.0000 (HERO20000)
MICROP-0110
TOUCH PANEL-SYN0104
RADIO-2.42.02.10.29
Mar 1 2010,16:02:39
CLEARSTORAGE
Delete all user data?
<ACTION> Yes
<SEND> No"
This happened once before when I was trying to boot to recovery before ever rooting. The problem is, I don't know which button is "action" and which button is "send." Last time, it didn't really matter because the phone was relatively new and I hadn't even put many contacts or apps on it.
Of course, I made a back-up and everything, but nothing I've read has warned me about this screen so I'm kind of worried I messed something up from the get-go and it causing this. Or maybe this is perfectly normal and the answer is so obvious that I can't see it trying to look at all the details??? Please??
Thanks!
Wow. Never seen that before.
I've gotten this several times when trying to boot into recovery as well. There is a name for it but not sure what it is exactly.
I do know however, you want to press send, which is the green call button on your phone, otherwise it wipes your stuff. When you press it, it'll reboot the phone, so immediately after pressing the send button, hold down the home button and end call button so you can boot into recovery.
Not sure why this screen pops up, as far as i can tell, it happens if you press the end key then the home key when holding them down. I've started holding down the home key first, then pressing and holding the end call key and haven't gotten that screen in a long while.
Hope that helps.
edit: and in case you were wondering, "action" is pressing the trackball.
That is the boot loader, which everyone has, and the action button is the track ball and the send button is the green call button.
When you want to go to recovery hold down the home button and press(not hold, otherwise it goes to the boot loader) the power button.
Also, I don't know if the one click rooting method installs a recovery image, if it does not you need to flash one first. Be sure to check and read the instructions completely.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
I have used the one-click root method and it does not include a recovery image. You have to go into the market and get rom manager.
Thanks!
Well, you all gave me great info, but I had already found out the hard way that the "action" button was the trackball. Oh well. I'm using ROM manager and ClockworkMod Recovery, so no worries there. Of course with ROM manager, I can just reboot into recovery from there. But its good to learn things the hard way.... twice... now I will remember what is "send" and what is "action."
Thanks again!
Another option is to hold the Volume Down button and the power button. This will take you to a screen similar in style to the boot loader. One of the options from that screen (I think Home) will be recovery.
