Hi there guys, I got my diamond yesterday and im like it so far. But there is a few things that annoys me and I was wondering if they could be fixed.
1) Slow - I was an iPhone user and the Diamond is very slow and sluggish in the menus, also web surfing is very slow. Is there a way to speed it up? e.g. tweaks or updateing to a new piece of software.
2) MP3 tracks - My MP3's dont seem to want to play on the Diamod, it says "caannot play the file. The file is either corrupted or the Player does not support the formate you are try to play." Its just a standard mp3 format I draged to the internal memory and it does not play?
I like the Diamond very much but the iPhone is so much more sleek and also the loading time is much faster, so please tell me a way in which I can make the Diamond respond better.
Thanks

SPEED: There are tons of tweaks on this website that will speed up the phone (Advanced Config, Diamond Tweak etc... etc...) remember, the iPhone cannot run more than one app at once, the diamond is limitless, check whats running in the background.
MP3s: No idea, should play fine. Are you sure they are MP3s and not some ****e iTunes crap
u will soon learn that the Dimaond kicks iAss.

Thanks for the reply, would you recomend me updating the Rom to something else? Also which tweaks will do it for me? Im look in the tweak post atm and I see things like Boost TFL3D Scrolling Speed & Boost TFL3D Performance, are these the ones I should be tweaking?
Cheers
I updated my ROM to the latest official one, and the speed difference is out of this world.
Its how the phone should have been from the off, there is no lag or anything!

it all depends on what you want, you may choose to got for a 'clean' ROM, most of which do not include TF3D.
I am personally using Dutty's latest ROM, which is overall good.
WOW i am impressed, I did most of the tweaks listed on the post of tweaks, its very fast now, all I need to do now is sort out the mp3 problem and im ready to go iPhone bashing!
Thanks

... you mentioned that you 'dragged' the MP3's to your device. This may be the problem. Try syncing them with Windows Media Player instead. I'm using MP3's and WMA files on my device and both formats play fine, but I synced them rather than drag and drop. I think it's something to do with the DRM (Digital Rights Management)?
I love my Xperia X1 so far. Mostly good things, but some issues:
1) Video playback very choppy = no solution (same: http://www.inxperia.com/forums/xperia-x1/281-xperia-x1-will-not-play-video.html)
This is heart-shattering for me. I have my anime that watch @ breaktime at work and couldn't believe that there's no decent video player (TCPMP doesn't work with X1 + coreplayer has no video acceleration and is choppy as hell). Windows Media Player works, but the interface sucks compared to TCPMP/Core and doesn't support a lot of formats. Having to convert each video by hand with SUPER isn't a viable solution for me.
2) Buzzing sound during phone calls(same: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4219836#post4219836)
3) My last phone was a SE W810i. I have a Plantronics 520 BT headset and it does NOT search and connect with the 520 when it's in range. I have to manually press the button on the bluetooth headset after I reset my device/turn off > on BT to "pair" the headset to my phone. Please, is there ANY way to prevent this behavior? I just want my phone to find my headset, connect to it, and stay connected. It's difficult to let go of this behavior since my previous (inferior) SE phone did it perfectly.
Have you tried updating it to a new ROM?
A custom ROM perhaps? I'm using Valkyrie 2.9, and it is very good at playing high quality videos---and I have not noticed any buzzing problems with a call.

Hi Fuzalert2K,
No, I haven't tried a custom ROM. I've been mostly scared of bricking my new gadget. I've done them before on my Axim X51v.
RE: high quality video playback -- how is that possible? What video player are you using? Did you compress in a special format? I was under the impression that unless you used WMP/formats compatible with Windows Media Player, videos would run choppy on the Xperia no matter what; this is because there's no compatible video player that accessed the graphics driver.
Can someone clarify this? I would gladly flash to another ROM if it meant video was fixed I use Coreplayer. Unfortunately, TCPMP didn't even run (both confirmed problems on XDA)
Shameful Bump. Can anyone confirm this? Will a hacked ROM solve the video choppiness problem?
try to update to via seus maybe u dont have R3A... im using custom rom and dont have problem with video also... and for video playback i use core player or windows media player or media panel...

I'm running a High Resolution video on my Xperia using the Xperience Panel. The Xperia handles MP4 videos without much problem..
I highly recommend you "hard-spl" your phone,
then flash it using the micro-SD method.
I have flashed my phone a little over 50 times, without the slightest hint of anything going wrong.
If you want a new interface (TouchFlo 3D), I suggest you use Valkyrie 2.9 FS, or if you don't, then go for Valkyrie Xperio. Both roms are created by agent_47 under the Xperia ROM development section. They are really fast. You can also enjoy high-resolution youtube videos!
Hi guys,
Yes, Windows Media Player does fine because it has the graphics acceleration drivers, but because HTC did not release the graphics driver chipset software, so there is no hardware acceleration for videos on Coreplayer or anything else except for WMP. How in the world are you guys not having this problem? Legions of users on XDA/Coreplayer forums are having the same problems. What FPS are you guys getting?
Also, does TCPMP work on your Xperias w/ custom ROMS.
I think thinking of trying the "Valkyrie XPERIO". I want a minimalistic ROM built for 1) Stability 2) speed

Well, I don't use coreplayer.
What is wrong with windows media player anyway? (Is the one in the Xperiance Panel?)
I do think I'm running at least 25 frames.... not much lag.

WMP does not support a variety of formats, doesn't even come close to the configurability, ease-of-use (once configured to one's own preferences), updated frequently, and overall much better than WMP.
I'm very interested to hear from people who run custom ROMS -- does Coreplayer experience the same lag as before?
Shameless bump. Anyone?

I tried a custom ROM -- Touch_X_10_1_X_TREME_BLUE -- a favorite on XDA.
Wonderful improvement over OEM, but alas DID NOT FIX video choppy problem. Whoever states otherwise is either mistaken, lying, or has ridiculously lower standards as to what constitutes "playing video" on the Xperia. I can't even get watchable rates with coreplayer. WMP works if it has a format compatible with it. Stuff like Dattebayo's Bleach (AVI)-- don't even bother.
It really sucks that HTC won't work with Coreplayer's devs to open up and give them the ability to add video acceleration. Stupid HTC

Try another custrom ROM such as energyrom or valkyrie. I myself do with these roms and they are pretty good. By using coreplayer i can watch most kinds of video format (except realplayer format : .rm,.ram...) without any lag (WMP does). So just try, it's safe & fun.
I will try valkyrie and install it very carefully using RUU method (direct microsd method doesn't work for me).
Unfortunately, I just don't see how a custom ROM solves the video lag problem. Can someone post a video of coreplayer playing dattebayo's bleach episode 233? (http://www.dattebayo.com/t/b233.torrent)
On my X1, it plays, but is choppy; choppy means that the subtitles are not smooth and jump around.
Hi guyz,
Just wondering if anyone out there had succesfully installed the old X1 panels and get them working on their X2 devices with latest wm6.5.3? Recently I had reset my X2 and remove the SlideView and all other unnecessary apps for better performance and I admit it was a thrill experience having my X2 running faster and more stable than before. However I really missed the SlideView function especially the radio and music player.
I had tried installed many different apps for the radio and playing music but none had given me the same experience as SlideView. The closest that I had came across is the X1 radio panel and Media Xperience panel. I tried installed these panels but couldn't get them working. I had also tried running these panels using puebba PMLauncher but it only showed blank white screen.
Really appreciate if someone can guide me step by step on how to make the X1 panels working on our X2. Just got so fustrated reading the X1 threads that many of them able to run X2 panels but we cannot have a taste of their panels.
Thanx.

Okay I will tell you, but answer my question first, can you play youtube app?
Maybe I don't check this much but you can PM me.
Hello.
Sorry if this has been answered, I didn't find it, apparently.
I keep hearing that the Audio Booster 2.5 WVGA application available on HTC units can be run on Xperia X1i. My attempts to install it (CAB installs OK) result in an installation that won't run but will complain that it's missing components (when run from explorer, when from menu, no error pops up at all, but the same error sound dings).
I suppose that means I have to install some HTC libraries or drivers to get it to work if at all possible. Can someone please consult me in detail on this issue? DL URLs with brief instructions are welcome, if possible.
Thank you very much for your time, gentlemen (and ladies).
Your ROM is the original version?!? My ROM came with this app and works fine. There are other apps like this, did u try others?!
If u just want play your music louder, u can try a - real - player like GSPlayer, CorePlayer, coz they have a really good eq system.
Yes, my ROM is the original version. I stress, I own a SE XPERIA X1 unit, so its original ROM couldn't have come with an application that is from a competitor and requires competitor's libraries/drivers to run. So either you've misread the topic and don't own an Xperia, or your ROM is not original.
I am looking for a decent system mixer/equalizer compatible with WinMo 6.1 Pro WVGA 800*480. I want savable presets and all that jazz. Parametrics aren't necessary, even unwanted. Just a decent equalizer that could preferably integrate with MS WMP.
I don't want to just run louder or more quiet. I want an equalizer. Extra features are appreciated if it does its primary job well. To the best of my knowledge the Audio Booster 2.5 was just that: an intuitive quality equalizer that was designed for 800*480 displays. Being that many applications from HTC Touch Pro 2 have been ported to Xperia, I'm assuming this one may have been as well.
Thank you for you input.
