I am making a link to the Corecodec page as it is supposed to be today that Corecoded would make an announcement on CES about their new player solving the video driver issue.
Will be easier to follow up betaboys posts over there refering to this solution.

Do you know which booth the vendor will be at? I am in Las Vegas right now and would like to stop by with my At&t Tilt and see what they have to offer.
Very intersting!
Seems that we have the same story happening again (it was allmost the same with the tytn I).
Can't wait to give a try
What A Good News !!
What time is that in gMT?

las vegas should be GMT -7 or so. Hopefully some reply from Corecodec's founder later tonight.
No idea which booth they have, you might check Corecodec on the exhibition listing?

xmoo, that was "old news" I posted way back early October when I was not aware yet of the major issues with the video drivers
I thought that the problem was related to WMP at that time.
Since then, we all became much wiser and know that the coreplayer v 1.1 does not offers the solution (I am using it since October myself and FPS is still laggy in all tried formats - settings)
let's hopefully wait for some liberating news from Corecodec's founder Betaboy
I have my finger ready on the "download Coreplayer v1.2" link (which should be available soon , very very soon I hope)
Hey everyone! Any word on this? Does the CorePlayer 1.2 have a much improved video driver for us that works as a general driver? If so, I better shell out some $$$ for the player =).

I don't think so....I thought it only "solved" video problems. Not an actual system driver.
this is great news and all but the best news will be the release date so we can actually try it out...
Still waiting............

No news yesterday on Corecodec.
Following the thread to the link above, I hope that Corecodec did not released "too optimistic" news.
A third party soft which renders vide better but slows down the whole phone by 2/3 is not a solution indeed.
let's just wait untill they announce their release and judge afterwards.
How are they going to announce the player at CES when they even have a booth at CES. They're not in the 2008 International Official Show Directory.

Link to the posting from the Corecodec founder :

And their announcement:
All.... in the upcoming version of CorePlayer Mobile v1.2 we have resolved the POOR video playback issues that the AT&T TILT users have experienced and I can say from first hand experience that the playback is pretty close to flawless ;-)
We are making an announcement at CES on Jan 7th on the released date of CorePlayer Mobile v1.2 that also includes advanced RTP/RTSP streaming and the much anticipated support for YouTube Mobile.
So now we have to wait till new version comes out?
Don't buy CorePlayer, Use TCPMP !

Don't get any of your hopes up, CorePlayer will solve nothing for us:
First of all, what they "fix" will only work inside Coreplayer
And second:
http://www.corecodec.com/forums/index.php?topic=596.15
page 2, second post, blue one:
"ok... so let me clarify... so its a little of BOTH to be true in that... we _ARE_ using HW overlay with the qtv drivers for the color conversion and bilinear zooming and we are _NOT_ using the builtin mpeg4 hw decoder."
So they only fix the problem which made our kaiser slower (about 3 times slower) than all similar devices when using DirectDraw... you know the issue, we were going around it by using Raw Framebuffer in Tcpmp
What this means: they found a workaround for a bug in the Kaiser, they do not have video drivers, they do not have 3D drivers.
I wish it wasn't so... but it is

and yes we know that;s tmcp.
I like the fact that in core player forum they deleted the last post because it was complaining with the fact that they failed to deliver what they promised. Everybody was waiting for their self proclaimed solution to the problem to be announced during the CES on the 7th of January, but maybe they meant 2009 and not 2008. Whatever, i just hope that a better media player comes quickly so that we can forget all these lies from Betaboy and Core Player team. Don't promise what you cannot fulfill.
I found a particular driver update on video driver for the touch pro and I was wondering what the actual driver version for the original ATT fuze or a way to find it. The driver was paired with the diamond hologram program which they say help boost the fps to 25. I'll edit this thread later w/ the link when i find it.
Here it is:

There are also variables to get that fps, like your page pool. but this driver is pretty well known.
my question would be if the driver is newer than the one provided by att. and also if it will pose any risk of screwing my fuze....

Well its a .cab so you CAN uninstall it. And yes it does give somewhat of a better FPS performance on a stock Fuze rom. You really won't notice any better performance unless you are using a 3d program like the hologram program or some 3d games.
My advise, is try it out. If you don't see anything uninstall. A hard reset will always take it back to "stock" anyway.
well i installed it, the hologram thing is awesome. it was a jump from .16 fps up to a 50fps (at its max) usually round 25fps. very cool.
so this driver really doesn't do much if you dont use alot of 3d programs......
any suggestions on cool 3d programs and games so that i can make use of that driver? XD
i found a game called cube on here yesterday its first person shooter kinda cool thats free
or like cod2 of course
check it out here Opera Mobile it's a tad bit buggy. obviously beta. but flash is working somewhat.. it takes a lil fingering out to get it working. but youtube videos are playing in full screen glory on my expo now!
enjoy at your own risk
if you've already got opera installed this will over install but you will keep your bookmarks and what not.. mine did anyway

I personally prefer UcWeb Browser. Its more a "mobile" browser.
Where did you get the english version of UCWeb? I downloaded it but its all in japanese.

while opera is a fine browser it trys to emulate a desktop experience, which isnt all bad, it does a good job.
UCWeb on the ohter hand doesnt try to be a desktop, is a browser which knows its on a mobile device and does everything it can to accommodate to that fact.
Which model?
The LG Expo or GW820 or 825 is not listed as a model to pick - what's the next best choice for WVGA screen? HTC HD2?

idk, dont remember what i picked lol, just try one
Choose the default version
Tried the HD2 version before you mentioned the default one, Phatride - seems to work ok so far, but still prefer Opera Mobile 10 b3
on this beta and the release i noticed that pictures were blurry and loaded slowly. i did not try you tube because i use coreplayer for youtube because it plays youtube very clear (h264 720p and FLV) if you change the format in the settings under channel
CorePlayer
I have heard of this coreplayer, but don't know where to get it. Can someone post a link?
Is this the best video viewing experience on the lg expo? I used Divx Player on my Fuze, and it did decent. is Divx and CorePlayer comparable?
Thanks.
Hello!
I'm wondering if any is working on it actively? when do you think we will see a free, working codec / player of divx / xvid for android / htc magic mobile?
conveting movies is ok, but not a big fun ;P so, i hope some one will come up with something soon...
there is a paid one, but it is not too good, and movies got unwanted delays in middle of the presentation.
thanks!

sorry, just to clarify, yxflash is a free app on market, but you need to buy a license for it. there is a trial mode for ti.
and it needs to be polished more as well. Doesn't work perfectly for me
does it work perfectly for most people?
I'm using it to show people the new cataclysm wow trailer. Although it will play the original HD file from the website, it is laggy as hell. I use pspvideo9 to convert it to mp4. Plays Like a dvd.
It works ok for me on my phone, but i only use it to watch tv shows,so 45 minutes run time max. (test both G1 and Magic).
Lifehacker just posted that about watching divx on Android, and I thought of this thread. They use RockPlayerBase which is still in beta, but apparently gets the job done.

You're trying to play 720p video on a device with 192/288mb ram and a 528mhz CPU?! You're clearly intoxicated if you think that's going to work smoothly.

Nope, I am aware of the hardware limitations of the 32B, but I am trying to play a 640x352 AVI. Rockbase player doesn't even shows a frame, it shows nothing. With other players like yxflash I can see the movie, although not in a decent frame rate.

i'm trying it on my HTC magic (running cyanogen 5.0.8, which is indeed 2.1)
doesn't work for me either. i can't seem to open any files.
tried 4 different avi's. all of them bring the app back to the folder selection screen.
i tried uninstalling + reinstalling the player twice as well.
any suggestions?
It requires a CPU with ARMv7 instruction set. HTC Magic have only ARMv6. That is why it isn't working...
RockPlayer does have 3 branches:
taken from their site at andplayer.com
Version ARM V7 : Google Nexus One, HTC Desire Incredible EVO , Moto Milestone XT800, Droid Series,Acer Liquid, Samsung Galaxy S, Sony Ericsson X10 ,Dell Thunder Streak, LG LU2300 .ect
Version ARM V6 VFP: Samsung SHW-M100S GT-i5700 ,HTC Legend ,etc.
Version ARM V6 : All models left running Android support ARMv6 instruction set.
I was able to play an Xvid encoded file from my mytouch 1.2. It can be a little choppy and audio/video desync, but it mostly does the job.

I have just tried it on my HTC MT3G and it gets audio/video desync, although it was a small sized video...
So, guys , as i understand there's no solution - we can't play xvid and as I tried big .avi files on our mt3g`s. If someone finds a player please post it here so we all can use it btw if someone can tell me player which plays big avi files - please write me a message or smth.
Are you serious? Did you not bother reading the thread before posting? Are you just trying to pad your message post count? READ.
