Changing default rings folder - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

The default rings directory located in /Windows or /Windows/rings.
I am using about 10 megs of different rings, so I wish to locate it all on the internal storage.
I have created a /rings directory on the internal storage, and changed the registry value using SK Tools, or directly in the registry itself, but the device would not find any rings, after doing that.
Any ideas how to do it correctly?

i located all my ringtones on the root drive of the internal storage; the phone picks them all up, no issues

10X
I also discovered another solution which is to locate the rings in /internal memory/my documents

How to save space with TomTom Nav6

Hi all, been lurking here for a couple of years now & found the site invaluable as a source of information about my device's. I have an xda11i & 2 xda orbits. I have a tip for all who use TomTom Nav6 on their device's.
I had a problem where if I entered a postcode into TomTom it would only allow me to use the first 3 digits & then I would have to sort out the rest of the address manually, pointless!
then I read that I needed to move the folder called Zip to the /programs/navigator folder on the device. this though takes up nearly 10mb of space!
here's a way to save 10mb & still have postcode's working.
instead of moving the folder called Zip paste a shortcut to it in the /programs/navigator folder instead.

Forgot to mention you need to rename the shortcut from "shortcut to zip" to "Zip"

Click to collapse
Just move all the TomTom stuff from you device to the equivelent folders on your storage card. Redirect the TomTom shorcut in \Windows\Start Menu and you will free up even more space.
Wow, an even better way to save space. Thanks for the heads up

if you have bluetooth folders enabled, tomtom can't see the "ZIP" postcode folder on the storage card or the VOICES folder on the storage card. You can either copy the "ZIP" folder into the Navigator folder in main memory or you can disable Bluetooth Folders (start, settings connections, bluetooth, ftp)
Anyone know if there is a way to "tidy up" you storage card by placing all TomTom Files into one File (called "TomTom" for instance? If so what exactly do I need to redirect?

Data transferred in case telephone alone

Good morning,
I have a problem, after having used opera to go on the Internet, the telephone has create a "storage interne2" in the case of telephone and he transferred half of the files inside.
The shortcuts did not work and memory was saturated. I recall at all and emptying the directory. Then the case was called "internal storage" and shortcuts worked.
Do you have an idea?
This has been addressed before on other devices.
In you root directory, delete the folder named 'Internal Storage' (backing up anything important contained within) and then reset the device. The Internal Storage 2 will be renamed and the shortcuts should work again

save custom ringers in internal storage

Can I make a new folder inside internal storage and call it Ringers and then link the ring tone to the certain contacts?
yes you can
First you need a tool as Advanced Config to change the default location for ringtones from main memory to Internal Storage in a folder of your choice. Than soft reset (I remember it didn't worked till I've made a reset) and move the ringtones to the new location. It's better to have a standard ringtone assigned untill you do this as you may not be able to move them if one is in use (I didn't test, just guessing). After reset and moving your tones, they'll appear in the ringtones list as usual
You can also edit directly the registry for changing the location, but I don't know the keys and it's easier to use that config tool
OR you can just put your ringtones to My Documents folder in internal storage.

Is there such an app? Direct all to storage card?

Hello all,
It was suggested to me to post this question here.
I am looking for a way to basically poing any and all possible to the storage card. I think I remember a couple years back finding one for my Hermes here at XDA-Developers.com but now I can't seem to locate it??
I would like it if someone knows how to or an app to do this if they could let me know. I think I remember the other one being a .cab that directed everything to the card.
Does this make sense to anyone?
PS: I know on the camera app you can select the device or the card.
Make it little clear
do you want to receive files(say songs etc) through bluetooth and get them stored in memory card and want to place inbox in memory card ?

Well what I was thinking was I would like any and all files to be stored on the card.
For instance, when active-sync creates a short cut on the desktop (pc) for files to be sync'd there is a list of folders... If I click "Explore" in AS it opens to files on my device. Now if I follow it correctly, all the files in the (pc) desktop shortcut leads to the folders in the "My Docs" on the device.
The last sentenance is what I would like to change, I would like for any and all files besides apps or system files to be stored on the card.
Meaning, no "My docs" on the device memory, just the card.
Is there a way in the registry or something else to change the path for said folders to be redirected to the memory card?
I don't think there is an app that will do this
SKTools has a "move file" option that says it will move the file and update information in the registry, but its not clear if this applies to folders
Now, you could try using a registry editor with find-replace to find all instances of "/My Documents" and change it to something like "/Storage Card/My Documents", then soft reset and see if that works -- I can't seem to find a registry editor that does find and replace like this -- anyone?
Advanced Config Tool (attached) will allow you to specify default locations for directories.

Disable making DCIM directory

Hi!
Is it possible to disable the making of the directory "DCIM" on storage card and in My Documents?
I tried to delete it, but when i start the camera again, it makes the directories again.
The camera saves the pictures in folder My Storage\DCIM\100SSCAM.
How can I change this to a specific folder (e.g. My Storage\Camera)?
Thanx
just start your camera and touch the tools icon on the bottom left of the screen then touch the tools icon on the tab next to the one that comes up automatically. The last option is default storage. Pick My storage. You'll have to use a tweak cab to change to a specific folder.
