Hi
I found this video of a Diamond assembly:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ6XTjWD1i8
I not sure, but it look like a micro SD card ?
what does?
look at 25 seconds, I think it's a microSD Card !
it looks like that
hummm
does to me too
and it looks like it is located very next to MiniUSB port
It's the sim slot...
Hmm .. would be nice if it is a micoSD...
but i think it is the Microphone rubber ... or?

yeah really a tiny sim slot i am looking for technician do dissassembly my phone I want to change sim card
NisseDILLIGAF : such high resoultion foto shows that is probably that rubber ...but still I have doubt ... that rubber is placed vertically while looking on phone while that part the technician puts in is placed horizontally.
EDIT : but after looking really close I am almost convinced it`s that rubber what a pitty
Ok... here you can see both pictures ...
I think one of them has but it the wrong way
The only port or slot i see is the sim card one, and I imagine that the man knows what he is doing and would notice something like that in a phone sold with no memory card support. And yes...the rubber looks like it is in its correct possition
Is way too thick for MicroSD.
Would be great though! But I doubt the Diamond would support MicroSD bigger than 4GB if you would like to replace it, very little devices support those sizes yet
So, I wait for a pcb replacement part with 8 or 16 Gb !...
It's a Vibrator
I have seen this video... It's the phone Vibrator.. and not the Micro SD card. I think the memory will be a flash memory, which will be in the form of a Micro Chip..
I've just been thru the 109 page HTC Service manual and it isn't mentioned there......

Rumour has it - there is a hack available to turn the iPodTouch into an unlocked iPhone!
What the hackers fail to see is that an iPod will never make a very good phone. Anyway Palm has countered these claims stating that touch is a Palm thing and it makes good sense ; -)
I know I'm a n00b, but what the hell is the relevance of this in a WM6 forum for the Hermes?
Thread moved to off-topic. In the future, please post in the appropriate forums.
Thanks.
Lol. There's a rumour that the iPod can be turned into a phone?
Well well. So they didn't have the space and hardware to build in a 3g radio in the phone, but they threw in a whole phone just for free in the ipod? That's jolly decent of them.
Unlocked too, that's just the icing on the cake. Apple is too kind.

Possibly they would hack my Wizard so it could run WinXp with multi-touch feature.. and fire laser as well?
I think that video has something to do with this thread

I just saw the Youtube video on this. All I have to say is....
ARE YOU KIDDING???
Who could possibly be stupid enough to think that just by inserting a spring in the bottom of an ipod would magically give it the hardware and software capabilities to dial a phone number?
Hey, do you think that if I insert the spring in the bottom of my laser printer I could turn it into a 60 inch LCD with High Definition and HD DVD Player?
I swear!!! This kind of logic is taken straight out of ET The Extraterrestrial. Just clamping things together that all of the sudden, bam! A whole bunch of kitchenware tuned into an intergalacting transmitter.

WAHAHAHAHAHA!! LOL!!!
frickin laser beams... haha!
even if it's cheaper to produce 1 type of pcb and have software take care of the various models i seriously doubt apple would make ipodtouch with all the phone components inside too
heck they might use the same pcb but there is no reason they would have the smt machines add the components for the mobile which would never be used

While this guy tend to make his video as 'good' as possible with all the crap about the wire poking thing and recorded dialing tone crap.. he missed the point of where do I insert the phone SIM card. I bet there would be some stupid guy who will tell you that, you can insert a SIM card into the (say) SD card reader and poke here and there to make a phone call Example of such moron ideas --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=779184&postcount=2
This is an Orange UK Kaiser with standard rom and locked to orange all issues not really an issue to anyone here.
The phone was replaced by orange in november after a fault with it turning off all the time. the only part replaced is the main body of the phone.
It comes with a 1 gb memory card (San Disk) (If i can't find this it will come with the 4gb in the photo) and all the usual bits (Charger, Headset ETC)
The only issue is the back cover had a clip or 2 broken (See Pics) and causes it lift on one corner. The cover was broken on the old replaced phone and not on this one. there is no scratches on the main body as it only had about 3 weeks of use once replaced.

many thanks mate
edit: silly question, just saw your location!

The only orange branding is on the back cover. since this needs to be replaced it would be unbranded on the casing.
Pictures will be on the top post shortly. (16:00)
The Screen as best as i can get it.
The broken Clips
The back and where its not connected and then how it sits. TBH the only issue is the stylus can not going in normally sometimes.
Ill take it for the £100 asking price!
Just to confirm, phone works 100% fine minus the broken catches on back panel? Any chance of a pic once its booted up?
thanks
I hope my grave mistake will be a lesson for those who decide to open the phone.
Long story short - ALWAYS, ALWAYS check the SD card slot before disassembling the phone. I forgot to do that and left the card in (I intended to replace the housing), and as a result, I have the slot cracked open. Now all my attempts to find a repair shop which can put it back together failed and the phone worths zero.
Now I am wondering whether anybody here can help me fix it. The problem is I cannot find any schematics of the SD card slot to put the spring and the other part back (I actually do not have any instruments except small screwdrivers and tweezers). If there is such a great guy who can do that, I will gladly pay him or her (I can mail the motherboard and parts together with a check that will cover mailing it back to me).
Here are the pictures of what happened and what was inside the slot:

and
Man, I feel for that damage =\
If I didn't lived in such a far place as Brazil, I would try to fix your phone.
My Wizard is disassembled, and right now, all I could see is that the spring goes on right side, as staring the motherboard on the first pic.
I'll take some macro shots here and try to help you.
Good luck and cheers

Thank you for your kind words, man! Yes, any hint will help - I have no idea how that little cog is attached (and if it's not bent).
deleted as doubled
Sorry for asking for help again!
Does anyone know where to get the schematics of push-pull SD card slot? I wanna try fixin it myself, its just that cog that bothers me.
Another possibility would be to buy a drive for lets say, netbooks, and either solder it to the MB, or carefully disassemble to see what's inside. The question is - where to buy such part?
Thanks in advance to everybody!
This morning I wasn't really paying attention and shoved my sd card in the wrong way. it is now deep into my NC. If I take a torx screwdriver and take out the screws, will I be able to pull out the back and retrieve my sd card? I unfortunatly haven't backed up my sd card onto my computer and a lot of my apps and books were on the microSD.

You must have been persistent, since SD cards can only go in a certain way.
You should be able to push it out if you access the slot

Thats what she said!
Sorry couldn't resist
I've taken the back off. It's easy taking it off, but putting it back together can be a PITA. None of the teardown pics mentioned this. It took me a good half-hour to figure out why.
To correctly re-assemble, the trick is to remove the rubber cap covering the SD slot first, as its "legs" have to go UNDER the underlying metal surface, not on top. Once you got the back cover back on, then reinsert the cap.
BTW, aside from the 2 screws, the back cover is friction-fitted, held in place by plastic tabs around the edges. Once you've taken it apart, the friction fit will no longer be perfect, and the back will creak more than before.

Realy realy crazy ????
Crazy but in a good way
Nice but I don't see any use for 200gb card. My 32gb card has nearly 5-6 gb free. I don't think anyone can use anything above 64gb card.
And our Android One 1St Gen Costs around $100
I would prefer getting another phone with this price.
But still, thanks for experimenting.
Now adopt it into your phone's internal storage. For the lulz

Till the time comes when we need 100-200gb for mobile storage, our sprout will not last, maybe more powerful devices with 12gb ram and 250gb internal
But currently no need for a memory card which costs more than the mobile, atleast for me
