Alternative to Android Market?

Hey,
After reading the threads, I presume I'm not the only unlucky one to have a phone without Android Market, combined with the "dreaded" 1.33.0010 SPL, therefore unable to root.
So what's the best way to get new apps for my brand new HTC Sapphire? SlideMe and Leaf Open Market just don't cut it for me.
Alternatively, can I download the Android Market apps via the web?
Ciao,
CUGWMUI
PS: Someone, please root this phone!
you mean like these?
http://www.androidtapp.com
http://www.android.com/market
but i presume you're aware of a google search phenomena so i guess that is not what you were looking for
Not sure if slideme is locked to the mobile emai number or anything else but you can try to open your browser on the mobile and go to http://m.slideme.org/SAM/ and install there application store manager.
Thanks...
I guess the best thing is to acquire as much from as many sources as possible...
Can't wait for my Magic to get rooted..
Ciao,
CUG
Found a methode where i can get applications/games from the market into my non-google magic.
look at my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=529170
You might want to have a look at this website...it lists all alternatives for appstores per platform: http://www.wipwiki.com/appstores

The Aptoide app allows users to easily install applications from distributed repositories, without having to rely on the Google Market.

wow, that would be amazing
I'm now looking for someone who would help me with reversing Android Market app and rewriting part of it into C# or VB.NET because guy from Androlib.com declined to help and I need to get some connection to Market (app informations)
First of all, great server to upload it too
And the program itself is great. That's what I call user-friendly. Although mostly, nothing works right not, the UI is as straighforward as they come. Neat and organized, not to mention extremely smooth. I like it. Would very well like to try the beta out.
Yeah, we want UI to be as user friendly as possible.
this looks real nice, would be wonderful if you and camalot (creator of droid explore) both worked on something like this together, one doin mostly code and the other GUI. That would be amazing
I'm working mostly on code and my friend Jam3es is creating GUI
You can contact Saurik @ [email protected].
He is the guy responsible for Cydia on jailbroken iPhones.
He also runs cyrket.com, an on-line view tool for the Android Market.
The guy is friendly and open source and freedom advocate, so he would most probably help
I've already wrote him twice but no reply at all
bugs
the setup button doesnt do anything and it says that my phone was connected when it really wasnt
That's not bugs! It's not fully working version, but only "first-view" version that's only because we want to know how you like UI. If you want to see private alpha in action, check out youtube video in first post
Willing to beta test
I've been waiting for an app like this to come along forever. This is exactly what we need for our phones! It takes the hassle out of having JUST one mistyped letter in a long string of adb or console commands. If you're looking for testers, I'm willing to be a guinnea pig, and I'll help any way I can. Cot really able to program or anything, but I'll give you detailed bug reports, and anything else that will help with the evolution of this awesome app!
Would be cool if you could type sms and make phone calls with it.
This would be so perfect man !
Loves it, keep up the good work !
i couldnt get the .exe file running
i get
application failed to initialize, blahblahblah, click OK to terminate.
i couldnt remember what it said for the blahblahblah part >_<
That's because you dont have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 that is requiered to get app running. There will be Lite version, developed in .NET 2.0 that will be ported over Mac and Linux too

ES file explorer 1.5 cupcake

I use Advanced Task Killer at the moment and also use ES file explorer. On the Market I see "ES file explorer 1.5 cupcake" which claims to do a hole host of things including Task Killer.
Has anyone any experience of 1.5 Cupcake. Would be nice to have 1 app installed instead of 3 or 4.
Using task killers isn't recommended. Here's some more information:

Thanks, very enlightening.
This version you seen there is also only for Android Cupcake and Donut (Android 1.x)
So it won't work on our device.

[XAP]First RC PCMD version, supports reg files parsing and HTC7Pro HW keyboard

You can download PCMD RC 2.5 from developer thread. Custom fully unlocked ROM, or WP7 Root Tools unlock is neaded. All testers and coders will invited, simple opensource plugins system (similar to desktop TotalCommander WFX plugins collection) will published in near future. HTC7Pro HW keyboard is just fully supported for very quick filesystem navigation, I am looking for developers to make BlueTooth keyborads support too for all WP7 devices.
