i tried that its not working, i cant get into bootloader, i have two tilts one that works fine and this one, i can get into bootload on mine but the problem one doesnt get into it, it just shows the att screen and starts up. The hard reset by pressing the soft keys and soft reset doesnt work either
You bought a faulty unit and the buttons are dead?
not knowing, you accidently bought a stolen unit and it is well secured by the former owner? (not just MS)
Hmmmm you cant hard reset? Either your buttons arent working, your phone has a bad block, or you are not performing the hard reset correctly. Hard reset is a base operation of the phone controlled by SPL if im not mistaken. Hey guys... is it also possible his NAND could be corrupt?
Also, just in case, to perform a hard reset, the correct buttons to hold in are these ( Highlighted by a red dot on each ):

Make sure to hold them in tightly as you soft reset
yeap ive been doing that it just starts up normally, its weird, i found a few weird things.
When starting up if you plug in the usb cable it will freeze at the att screen.
when i get into the home screen 15 reminders go off and the annoying att song plays over and over but i can get glimpses of the old owners stuff and then goes to the sim lock screen. If i plug in the usb at this time everything will freeze but itll still play the att song and vibrate and it then shut off after 10 seconds.

Greetings,
I am trying to do a hard reset on my Tilt. When pressing both "soft" keys and holding the stylus in the reset button for a few seconds, the screen will go all white with directions to hit the "SEND" key to reset, and any other key to resume.
I cannot find the "SEND" key ... and everything I seem to try simply restarts the phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
The send key is the green key on the front thats shaped like a phone. The one you press to start a call.
i am attempting to do a hard reset while pushing both soft keys and using the stylus for the reset button but it does not do a hard reset. THe atnt screen shows and the radio etc and then it goes to the 3g animation (with no sound) and from then on the screen is just black.....
i attempted to flash my phone and during the process it went black. If i do a soft reset i get the tri color screen and it reads this
kais1*0
spl-3.28.Hard
cpld-8
and it says security unlocked above all of that.
When i attempt the hard reset it says
R 1.70.Olinex
G 25.65.30.04h
D 1.62.00.00
please help
You're either not holding the buttons down long enough.
Or you are "fat fingering" the buttons and pressing more then the two soft keys.
OR You have a USB cable plugged in.
So Unplug the Cables. Make sure your are only hitting the two soft keys d0own first. Then press your stylus in and HOLD for 5 seconds or until the Grey Screen appears, whatever is last.

Like the pic? It was taken with my Tilt! I was doing some baby shopping at Baby's R Us a little while ago, and I just cracked up when I saw the box... I knew I could put it to good use on XDA.
Well guys i've had my phone totally messed up because i installed the HTC home plug and somehow it messed my phone up and i could not goto clear storage and for some reason could not get the prompt for the hard reset to come up. I searched google and here of couse and didn't find much except for soft keys and the soft reset button. Still could not get the prompt. So hopefully this can help anyone who cannot get the hard reset prompt. I searched to see if there was another thread about how to do this but i couldn't find anything so sorry if this is already posted but heres the steps that worked wonders for me!
1. go into bootloader mode by pressing and holding the camera button with the power button. then use the soft reset button.
(hopefully you come to the tri color screen.
2. When your at this screen.. press and hold then 2 soft keys and while holding those 2 .. use your stylus for the soft reset button.. and hold until the prompt to hard reset comes up
If you have done this correctly you should get the prompt to hard reset follow the steps on screen and you finally got the reset done!
I got this to work many times on the FIRST time so I didn't have to mess with keep trying. I kept trying before I found this and never got the prompt so this helped me alot!!
I'd hate to break your bubble but this has already been covered numerous times in the wiki and all over the kaiser section.
Nice try though
For the 100th time.......

MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THESE BUTTONS and the soft reset button AT THE SAME TIME.
Unless you broke your keyboard, this WILL work. Please note that this is in the Wiki ALL OVER the place!
ok i know it's the left soft key and right soft key but the thing was i trying to get at was: it worked the first time for me when i was in BOOTLOAD mode. i tried hard reseting just on the today screen and i could not get it to work. i went into bootload and tried the reset and it popped right up. like i said it might have been covered. but i could not find where it said do the right soft and left soft while in bootload mode.

Boot loader is NOT necessary. Hold the two buttons, and only those two buttons, and hit the reset button with the stylus. Done.

Dude, can you read? He said that didn't work for him. So it sounds like it was necessary for him to use the bootloader.

Guys,
I am sorry, to post this request. I have tried searching on this forum but haven't achieved what I was looking for hence the post.
I gave my old Kaiser to my 12 year old after upgrading to Touch Pro. He put a PIN Lock on the handset so that his friends wouldn't see his mails. After a few months of usage he managed to change the PIN and forgot it. Now the handset won't unlock. Also on the PIN unlock screen there is some kind of counter going on.
I tried the recommended way of hard resetting. Pressing the two SOft Keys and inserting the stylus in soft reset button. Then hold the soft keys for 20 odd seconds and press Send key and then wait for some confirmation. But all it does is soft reset it.
I thought of flashing the ROM with the standard 6.1 again, but everytime I connect the phone to the PC, it first asks to unlock the handset first.
Is there a way out?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
your pressing the wrong "soft" keys prolly. press the two "inner" buttons, the "minus signs" and reset with stylus button

Make sure you are doing it like this. If it is just soft resetting, it is because you are not getting the soft keys pushed all the way. Use two pencil erasers or pens. The soft keys were not made for fat fingers.

:good:Hi,
My Samsung Mini S5560 which is practically new and has been working perfectly well, has suddenly decided not to boot up.
I just get a black screen with this info: lcd_backlight_ctrl start determine_lcd_type, LCD Type : 61bc11.
It does not respond at all and have to turn it off by removing the battery. Sometimes, after it has been left switched off for
a few hours, it does turn on and all the features are available but as soon as I power it off I get the above screen again and again.
Can anyone advise what should I try to get it back working as it should?
Many thanks.
On ny galaxy mini this thing comes only after i press combination of buttons (power + vol up + center) or something like this, i dont remember, but i dont know what's the problem with ur device, may be any key is pressed inside by default ?

I don't have this device any more. But I guess to enter recovery, you have to hold power button + center/home key.

Hi all
I have managed to hardbrick my phone without even trying to flash it.
I have a white 128gb Mi 5 with an unlocked bootloader and (i think) running Cyanogenmod13 (but it was such a long time ago that i installed it - before global stable was out) I've always been happy with it but kept meaning to sit down and put global on it, but havent gotten around to it.
Yesterday i was using my phone, put it in my handbag, took it out ten mins later and it was completely dead. But it was definitely at 100% charge at the time as i had it plugged in on the train. No leds, no response, no screen, not recognised by computer or anything.
There have been a few instances when i pulled my phone out of my bag and the fastboot screen has been up and luckily i've cancelled it. I've been doing a bit of research and i'm pretty sure that i somehow managed to enter fastboot mode in my bag by accident and then corrupt it somehow?
I've been playing about a bit with it. (it's still under warranty, but I can't send it back, because it's got an unofficial rom on it)
I've managed to get it to be recognised on my laptop now by following a video tutorial which i'm not able to post because this is my first post, but it's from choimobile,vn and just in case anyone wants to know which steps i've made it to, this is the rest of the address, /threads/unbrick-xiaomi-mi5-repair-boot-xiaomi-mi5-hardbrick-pc-not-detected.
But i've reached a point that i can't go any further. In all the guides i've read, people talk about the pc recognising the phone as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 but mine doesn't. It just recognises it as "android" so then flashing with miflash doesn't work.
Does anyone know what else i can do? I'm a noob at this so if you could keep the explanations simple, that would be great!
Thanks
Angelina
Forgot to add... phone still connects to my computer fine, i can still see everything and can access the internal memory.

I'm pretty sure you can't actually do any damage in fastboot without being connected to a PC.
You say your pc detects your phone storage fine so that means it's either booted or in recovery. Either way, you should have some kind of display being shown so it sounds like your screen is broken.
Do you know what recovery you have installed? I'd advise you try to reboot into it (power off -> hold power and volume up) or boot into fastboot and flash twrp recovery.
If your screen never changes from off after restarting, it's likely the screen that's the issue.

Hmm, OK that's strange, i've not done anything that would break it, especially in that short period of time. But I guess it could be a loose connection or something. Although that wouldn't explain why there are no leds or why it doesn't respond to being charged? if it was a broken screen, everything else would work fine.
I could only see it on my pc after taking it apart, disconnecting the battery and using tweezers to connect 2 points on the internal board like in the video above. If i disconnect it, then plug it in again, it's not recognised until i use the tweezers on the two points again.
I've tried to reboot it and get into fastboot again, but it definitely isn't responding.
Thanks
hmm have you tried plugging it to power source then hold power button like one min..?
because last week my phone was just dead, and doesn't respond to anything, though it's slightly different because mine stuck forever at 9008 mode, yet still stuck there even though i flashed new rom
the only cure to wake it up was to attach to charger then holding power button for one minute
or you can try using DFC cable to force into EDL mode
Hiya!
Yes i've tried various combinations of holding different buttons whilst fully charged/discharging/connecting to computer via the test point etc
Thanks for the suggestion though.
Unfortunately, the DFC cable won't work, as that is what i've done with the test point method. It will allow me to connect the phone to the computer but that's as far as it gets.
Bumping this in the hope that someone may have an answer.
Your phone was dead because your power button kept pressing accidentally for a long time as you kept it in your bag, i too have the same problem and I showed it in service center but no luck they suggested me to change the motherboard...
