I have a problem when I try to call a contact with smart dial.
When I found and selected the right contact and it has more than one number, I can't choose the number (work/mobile/home) I want. If I try to change the number by pressing the left or right side of the navigation key the display starts to run through all available numbers in the contact and can't be stopped. Sometimes it works normal and the number changes only to the next one.
Does anybody know about this problem?
I forgot to append the specs of my phone:
HTC Touch Diamond
Vodafone DE
ROM 1.37.162.2 GER
Radio: 1.00.25.03
Protocol: 52.26a.25.09U

In dialer the Spped dial covers up the Smart dial.
Dial some numbers to find your contact, then try to choose between upper or lower contact ,Speed dial will appera and covers up smart dial results.
Any solution?
hmmmm I don't see that on my phone. Are you using a different skin instead of the default layout or something?
I found the reason,it was because of smartskey...
when i click on 2 numbers as a short cut for a name and click on it, it immediately dial it instead of opening the contact, problem is i have more than a number for one contact and sometimes i want to dial the other number is there any tweak for this???? i really appreciate any help as it frustrate me dialing when i am in a hurry...
i know i could click right/left to change the number but somehow the numbers keeps changing fast like it's malfunction.
Same problem, I find autumatic dial very anoying
Is there any way to disable it and only dial by pressing the dial key ?
Thankxxxx
You can TRY to click the arrows left&right of the humber description. It should look something like this:
[NAME] < mobile number >
After pressing on of the arrows:
[NAME] < work number >
But the arrows are very small. Gesture doesn't work unfortunately. You can also use the DPAD down buttons to select the contact you like to call and then use the DPAD left or right arrow to switch between numbers for that contact. But I hate the DPAD
I would like it if you could just click and hold the contact and be able to switch numbers from the context menu...
Does anyone know which is the registry key to change the numbers of area code.???
when i´m trying to dial contact number like -> 8833-1212, this is what my diamond screens show me -> (883) 31212.
883 is not the area or country code, i just want to view the numbers in four digit groups like 8833-1212.

1. Go to Settings -> System -> Regional Settings
2. change to English (Australia)
3. soft reset.
Great!!! now it´s working without (NNN)....

Ok, I must be having a brain fart today as I can't find the info I need after multiple searches. I have MSVC installed on my Diamond and it's the latest version (1.6.19214) that I'm aware of. It works perfectly so far and I can activate it with no issues using my Motorola T505 when connected with Bluetooth.
What I cannot do is activate MSVC directly on the phone. There are no buttons available to assign for it in the button settings. Does anyone have a simple and complete set of instructions of how to assign a button of some sort on the Diamond to activate MSVC? Much appreciated and thanks!
James
Go to
settings - Buttons - Button 1 Hold can be reassigned if its the same as the touch pro.
That's the issue I'm having, there is nothing listed in the buttons settings to assign or to re-asign. The window is blank and I can't see any way to add a button into the window to assign. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hi ,
My solution was to re-assing the "Phone" screen buton on TF3D to Voice command :
From Diamnod Tweaks list :
31. Remap Manila softkeys:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
Thanks, I'll have a look at that one. I thought there was a way though to remap a "long press" on the talk button or some such to activate voice command? Cheers!
James
joudbren,
interesting, I am just about the ask the same question as I just got my motorola t505 yesterday.
My other question is, when I first pair with motorola t505, I could get voice confirmation , then I say yes to make the call. Now I don't get voice confirmation at all, if I yes, it will make the call, if I say no it will not make the call.
I am wondering how can I get the voice confirmation back
Did you ever find a way to do this? I have MSVC running as a program but cannot assign it to a key.

Apart the solution above , I use Gscroll by tapping twice on the center wheel. It's working on 90% of the time.
Hi All,
When dialling a call, the HTC turns off the screen 5 seconds after the call is connected forcing me to have to press the Power button in order to display the 'In Call Status' window so that I can select the Keypad button to enter the voice mail access code. Additionally, listening to Voice Mail messages and pressing keys is extremely difficult as when I move the phone to my ear to listen to the Voice Mail, the screen blanks out and I must press the Power again to get the Keypad.
Ideally, I would like the screen to remain on between 30-60 seconds so as to allow interaction with the keypad ... such as in Voice Mail.
I've looked at several threads here and on other sites recommending changes to the RIL, Phone, and BackLight registry keys and I have tried some utilities such as 'AdvanceConfig 3.3', 'Kiaser Tweaks 0.41', and 'Diamond Tweak 0.5.3' to name but a few... no luck! At one time, it seemed like I was on the right track with the registry changes ... but the changes actually reduce the delay time to 1 second.
To rule out the possibility of a bad phone, I tested my wife's touch as well ... same result - purchased to identical units; makes it easier to support.
I would greatly appreciate any insight from seasoned experts.
Advance thanks,

when you use the registry tweaks you usually need to do a soft reset, and then the changes take place on bootup.
Hi mikemorris,
Agreed, I've even gone as far as shutting down - Long Power Press. I also have made the registry changes one at a time and captured the before/after settings.
Cheers,
Backlight timeout on calls fuze
I have also tried all the registry tweaks to extend the backlight on calls to something over 5 seconds.....
All my registry changes "TAKE" OK as seen after checking...
The performance changes work great...but not this backlight on calls...
Any fix yet??
