If you are using biggie then its broke. If not then run network wizard and soft reset. The password does change after it is entered and saved thats normal.
shep should be right. I read somewhere about email being broken on that rom.
anywhoo, it turns out you're also in the wrong forum. You should post problems in the "Herald Mobile 6" forum.

Hi,
Every now and then i'll wake up in the morning with my Tytn II II prompting me to enter a password, i've tried entering everything and checked all security features and made sure the "prompt for password when not used" has not been selected but nothing works, my only choice is to reset the device.
My main problem is the alarm clock does not work when it enters this mode which means I have to set another alarm clock just incase the phone enters the "enter password" mode over night.
I've hard reset the device but still this doesn't help.
Any suggestions?
I also have this crazy problem. Every now and again every 1-2 days I'll switch on my phone and be prompted for a password. I've never set any and the only answer is to soft reset and then all is fine until it happens again. The only other notable thing is that after about 5 failed guesses is tells me to input a1b2c3. Has anyone any idea what's going on - it's driving me nuts!!!
(ps I've tried zenyee but still no joy)
Wow, that would be annoying. Sorry, no help here as I use a password after one of my former devices "mistepeared"
Along these lines, I get prompted for my password everytime I connect to my Vista machine at home. I have yet to find a way to turn this off either. good thing it isn't my work machine as it would drive me crazy. At least le me enter the password on the main computer's keyboard instead of forcing me to open up my phone and type it in...

That is well weird.. Someone gets the same thing with an HP iPaq here: http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service...47626+1201639304018+28353475&threadId=1190832
Unfortunatly theres no solution offered there either..
edit: I just had a play round after reading something and I think its something to do with the encryption for the SD card.. are either of you using it? If not are you synced to a work exchange server? Remote Device Wipe uses this code as well by the looks of it.. Have a read of this: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile...ows-mobile-6-storage-card-encryption-faq.aspx
The comments are where it mentions that code but the whole thing is worth a read.. theres also a document linked that tells you about device wipe if you havent heard of it.. I suspect this is related to your problem (in fact im sure it is)
This has been bugging me for awhile now. If I start a program on my Tilt and then let it sit long enough for it to power off the screen automatically, when I press the power button to turn it back on, it always goes back to the Today Screen. Is there a way to have it resume the last program I had running instead? It is very annoying when reading a book on the device and I have to keep going back to the start menu to start it back up.
Search before you post!!!!!
Just for this time... I'll do it for you:

I've been reading all of the Kaiser Posts and didn't see anything myself. I looked at the four results you have listed, and none of them appear to have a solution. Does that mean there is no solution?
try doing what one of the posts said
"

May it's the setting 'Today timeout:' under Settings/Personal/Today/Items..."
there is a checkbox for turning the return to today timer off
and a dropdownbox to set it up if one wish to do so after a longer period
That setting was already set to 4 hours as it is the default, but no go. I do have a PIN setup due to my Exchange server at work, but it looked like people were still having the issue even without a PIN.
One of the threads said that several programs allow you to set this up, but none of the posts defined which programs would let you.

yeah, i have PIN for exchange too. today screen cpl doesn't help either.
None of the threads mentioned here in post #2 provide a concrete solution, just speculations.
Adding to the speculation, I think this is a Windows Mobile 6 bug. I have a Treo 750 that never had this problem with the original WM5 ROM but it did with a WM6 beta ROM and it does with the official WM6 update. Now, my new Tilt also reverts to the Today screen, which is extremely annoying.
A related issue, if you set a hotkey in MediaPlayer to toggle the screen on or off while playing music, it also returns to the Today screen instead of MediaPlayer when you toggle the screen back on.
In this post there is an answer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352839&page=3
The problem appears when you use a pin-code...
So, the only way today is to remove the pin-code from the lock-settings.

Since I'm syncing to my corporate Exchange server with PIN enforced, I guess I'll have to live with it. I am interested in the poster from the linked thread that says only his Kaiser is having this issue with a PIN, but looks like nobody has a better answer so far. Next time I hard reset my phone I'll give this a try before I sync to the server and setup a PIN.
Hi to everyone,
I have a problem with my diamond. Since yesterday when i try to open the contact tab in the touchflow it don't open. Instead of open i get the following message: "Opening touch flow 3D" , and than nothing appears and goes back to the main menu.
Can anyone help me? I tried to restart, soft reset and set the default theme ( my actually is sprint) and nothing work.!!!!
I really don't want to do a hard-reset!
Thanks!!
No one...?!
I've never had that problem before. If you can't wait for someone to relate to your experience and to try to get u help...........then my suggestion is to hard reset your device.
Perhaps it's the best solution. Just save everything on your pc and/or use PPCPimBackup to get you back up. Just remember not to save your system components as you might be bring in the problem again.
Before anything is said A) I HAVE used the search function, but was not going to bring a thread back from the dead. and B) I am not sure if this is the right section (I am asking a question) or should it go in general.
On that note, I have the same problem apparently a lot of people have. I used the pattern lock, it was entered wrong too many times, and now it is asking for my username and password. No matter how many times I put it in, it does not work. I tried [email protected] @gmail.com etc. I logged in via the computer gmail and changed the password, still no luck.
I have way too many apps, settings, and files to want to just hard reset. I find it extremely hard to believe the ONLY solution to faulty coding is a hard reset. It is very easy for someone who does not have this problem to just say 'hard reset' or 'the time it took you to write this you could hard reset.'
There is way more to it than that and you know it. Customization and everything. Grocery lists and such written up, notes, etc.
After the amount of people that have this issue, Google has YET to fix this issue with the phones? I cant find anywhere to actually contact google themselves to ask about this issue without being sent to a 'support forum.' It clearly is faulty coding that the logging in does not work. Do they read these forums?
The answer to bad programming to a smartphone should never just be do a reset, that is the worst solution ever (it is equally as bad as geeksquad or any other telling you you have 1 virus, we must format your entire hard drive).
Unless I missed over something, is there a solution to this yet? I hope so.. I do not want to hard reset.

The creator of xkcd had this problem, he used this
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=3006#c28
Thank you so much!!!! IT WORKED. You don't know (or maybe you do) how many headaches you just saved me.
This is awesome. I hope the other people that had this issue found this solution. I will post it in a new post, maybe it can be stickied if people continue to have this issue.
So, in summary, to fix this without wiping your phone, you:
1. Get someone to call you.
2. After answering, flip the screen open and shut repeatedly, tapping the “home” button every few flips. Eventually you’ll drop through to your home screen. This may take a few tries.
3. Go into your security settings and disable the unlock pattern. You can now bypass the lockout just by opening the keyboard.
4. Change the password on your account, which may be your Google Apps account if you have one.
5. In a few moments, your phone will fail to sync with email and prompt you for a password. Enter the new password.
6. You can now log in with the new password. Lock your screen, press menu to try unlocking it, and enter your new information. This should unlock your phone.
I'm having the same issues as takef0cusin above, arriving in a slightly different way. I was properly registered on 1.0.0 and used auto nooter 2.12.15. That went fine and there were no problems, but I decided to upgrade to 1.0.1 after some Wifi dropping issues. So I decided to flash back the the clean stock ROM.
I did the re-image holding down the power button 8 times, then I did the "three button data reset". Everything seemed to go fine, but it still started with the Logic PD Zoom screen and it never gave me the opportunity to re-register. Owner and Account are listed as unavailable. I then tried again using the "Erase and Deregister Device" method. Same results.
The new icons from the rooting are there, which makes me wonder if I actually had a successful flash back. I tried to register with the Gmail icon. It let me put in my email username and password. I acts like it is going to work, starts to load my conversations, then returns to the NC Home screen. I also tried to go through YouTube, but after registering I get "There was a problem with the network [401]". The Wifi still works, it still gets me the news, but the weather won't load because it says it there's location available.
What do I try next? I'm afraid to do anything because of all the warnings to re-register the NC first thing after any of these upgrades.
Thanks and Happy Holidays, OKMD
I've been through all this twice now. The second time was exactly as you have described and all I did was to redo the 3 button data reset. I was then able to re-register it.
Did it pop up to tell/ask you to register, or did you have to go looking somehow? Mine isn't asking and I don't know how to force it. Thanks.

If memory serves, after clearing data it comes up with screens where you select time zones, state, city, etc and then it asks for your user name and password. All this happens automatically after you do the 3 finger data reset.
