Emulation with QWERTY use - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hello,
I'm aware there's many threads about emulation on WM devices. However, I've searched this forum and Google for a way to map keys to the QWERTY keyboard on devices such as the Tytn range. Sadly, it was fruitless.
So I am wondering if anyone knows either an emulator which will allow you to use the keyboard for mapping keys, or how to get it working in PocketSNES
Edit: I seem to have got this working with PocketSNES. Dunno why it didn't work the first time, but when I deleted it and put it back on my Kaiser it worked fine.

HTC Touch keyboard breaking autocorrect?

I'd like to use the HTC Touch keyboard on my Tilt for the times that I don't want to slide out the keyboard, but installing it seems to break the autocorrect feature when I am using the hardware keyboard. I see a few other people mentioning this in various threads, but I have yet to see any mention of a solution to this problem. I've tried all sorts of combinations of enabling and disabling autocorrect and various xt9 features, but the only way I can get autocorrect back is by uninstalling the HTC Touch keyboard.
By autocorrect, I'm referring to the ability to type in "il" and have it automatically change to "I'll"
Hi - did anybody find a solution to this? I've been searching high and low!
I'm in exactly the same boat - I love HTC keypad as it really helps me use the Kaiser one-handed, but I really miss the auto-correct on the hardware keyboard.
Is there a version of this SIP that doesn't break auto-correct?
I tried the HTC phonepad, but just couldn't get used to it after using the newer Keypad.
I would love to have a good T9 style SIP, but also have autocorrect on the hardware keyboard......anybody that can help?
Thanks!
I'd noticed that too, quite annoying as the touch keypad is so useful.

I too found the same issues yet I loved the T9 input using the touch pad. I removed the xT9 one and installed this one instead.
You still get T9 and it works fast too. The internal keyboard auto correct also works with it too.
Is also made by HTC but can't remember where I found it. May have been on here before or recently.
I've been earching for a solution to this as well for months now. The autocomplete that XT9 disables is part of wm6 which it calls "word completion." When XT9 is installed via htc keypad, word completion ceases to work along with the feature that auto-fills contacts as you start to type a new SMS.
Thanks for posting that pkonepad cab, but unfortunately.that' the sip that radatia mentioned above. The buttons on the new HTC touch phonepad are bigger and easier to use.
What we really need is someone here that knows some programming to somehow alter the touch phonepad so that xt9 can be toggled on and off (without a registry change and restart), or better yet somehow change it to use a T9 like the phonepad's instead of xt9...
I have exact same problem. I love the htc virtual keyboard because became useful. However once I installed it, the hardware keyboard word completion no longer work I need that too because I use it.
I have another question, do anyone know if I can make the default windows word completion to auto select the top most word suggested list so I can just enter space bar to select it. Now I always have to use down key to select the word 1st. Not efficient.
Just wanted to bump this topic. There have got to be others out there who share our frustration... and someone who can put an end to it!
I've given up on the HTC Keypad, much as I like it and it making the device usable one-handed.
Have moved onto the PocketCM Keyboard as my preferred SIP just so that I can still keep word completion when using the hardware keyboard.
Hope that someone posts here if a solution is eventually found......
oh man!
I'm the opposite.. how I wish the hardware keyboard is not auto correct enabled when I use it.
I've tried dis-abling the auto correct etc.. dun seem to work..
now using Resco keyboard..
it's the next best thing, but kinda defeats the purpose of getting the tytn II in the first place.
Yes the touch keyboard has many issues when used on kaiser. i can't get autocomplete to work with the hardware keyboard either unfortunately.
I do know that "multiword completion" in the xt9 settings or whatever is a bad thing and causes other problems, so i uncheck that. But, still can't figure out how to get autocomplete to work.
I spent a lot of time searching and installing/uninstalling these things to try and find a perfect mix, no luck though. It's still QUITE usable for me, but i would like auto complete for hardware keyboard, though, i dont think i'd use it as i type realy fast anyways with it.
It's quite hard to justify buying a keyboard when we are able to install a free one that *almost* does what we want! pcmkeyboard with iphone buttons and XL touch skin is good, but i am realy starting to like xt9.
:-( i have this problem now and love the keyboard...

Use X1 keyboard on my PC via bluetooth?

Hi, I have tried searching for something like this for a while now, both in the forums and on the web.
So, for the question. I want to use my onboard keyboard on the X1 to control my PC, preferably via bluetooth. So when i press a key on my X1 keyboard my PC will register the same keystroke.
Is this possible, and have anyone seen a software or product similar or exact as i am describing?
Kind regards
Lemuren
sure it's possible

lemuren, i was also searching for a bluetooth keyboard / mouse program on my x1. I've found a program called Mobile Remote: http://www.mobilesrc.com/MobileRemote.aspx, that emulates a Human interface device. The advantage of this is, you don't need any drivers because windows and other operating systems already support these kind of devices. It's even possible to use the x1 keyboard and mouse on a Playstation 3!

I just downloaded this app yesterday and tested it on my Vaio Laptop. It appears that the physical keyboard works but it is always in FN mode (blue square button), so I end up typing the symbols and numbers instead of the letters. Wondering if there is a way to disable this when using the physical qwerty. The touch screen keyboard works well, but I would rather type with the actual keyboard.
Hello, guys.
It works!
Any luck figuring out how to fix the issue /disable the blue square on the physical keyboard?
thanks a lot

Nope, no luck. I found that the other program works better than Gremote (uses a server on the PC, so is more advanced). So if you want to setup the mobile as a mouse the MobileRemote is the better one.

HTC Western EzInput 2.1 & AT&T Tilt Hardware Keyboard Issues

I have an AT&T tilt that has been out of commission for some time, finally repaired the screen and put it back to work. I decided to try the HTC Western EzInput since it was the same as on the new Tilt II and Pure that I've been looking at.
I put it on and everything runs as documented, just some SIP change issues and everything else seems fine, except the hardware keyboard function layout is all wrong. I have searched forums and google and can't find a keyboard layout file that matches this keyboard. This is not an issue to be fixed with the tilt keyboard fix, its more than just a couple symbols off, I can't even type numbers at all with the hardware keyboard.
I know I need a 4 row, 29 key, keyboard layout file to make this work properly with the eT9 settings, but I just can't seem to find one. I also can't seem to find the information needed to modify one of the existing layout files to match.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to adjust myself to using touch only, but their are situations where the hardware keyboard is just more useful.
Oh and btw, I am using shifu's WM6.5 WWE V4.2 rom and loving it, just want my hardware keyboard working properly
Double that for me as well. Every version of ezinput 2 i have found so far for qvga f*** up my keyboard layout. If there is a version that don't, I would love to see it.
What I would have to do was once I installed EZInput, I'd install the Tilt Keyboard fix (you can easily search the forum) then soft reset.

Physical keyboard mapping

Hello all,
I have a G1 which, I assume, was originally German as the physical keyboard layout is QWERTZ instead of QWERTY.
I have set my Locale to Ireland and the Z and Y keys work as I would expect them on a QWERTY keyboard (I can ignore the legend on the keys) but my problem is the keys that need ALT pressing, they are mapped to, I assume, the Locale (Ireland) but the legends on the keys are not. So, If I press ALT and E the keyboard legend is the Euyo symbol but I get an underscore. I assume that on UK or Ireland QWERTY keyboards, the legend printed on the key is underscore.
Most of the time this is not a problem but editing documents or using terminal is a real pain!
Is there any way to change the mappings so the symbol I gewt is the same as the legend on the key (without changing my locale to Germany!)
Hope someone can help (by the way I am an Android Newbie having spent many many years on Windows Mobile) so please go easy on me!!!!!
Mike
anyone can help????
I personally have no idea how to do this but I think I can point you to the right people.

PM original posters of either thread and they should be able to help you out.
Also, some alternative input methods on the market have the ability to map keys as well, you may want to look into it although I don't know which ones are good.
Good luck.
