Conclusion! About cache tweaks - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I want a conclusion: Can it damage the phone doing the TF3D tweak? I've heard rumors some one did destroy their phone...

Bump Bump Bump

don't believe rumors and stop bumping...

Yes, it's true.
A higher cache makes your CPU work faster, which in turn has a direct impact on heat dissipation, which results in your Diamond exploding in your face...

Cool! Can I boil soup on it aswell? Then it would be the most imba multimedia device!
//
But hey can it ruin your TD? If so, i dont wanna do it lol..

you forgot to put a smile, so everybody will understand it's a joke.
btw, there are other programs/tweaks that improve yr speed without changing the cache. but for this you'll have to search and do a little reading.
forget about the "tweaks list". is not updated and with mistakes!

And what do they exactly do? Would be nice to know what they did, first of all I want to know what I install, and secound it's nice with a fact to search for. How big is the improvement in TF3D with those programs?

Are you referring to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265 ?
If so I would appreciate some pointers- been wanting to clean up the list for a while but it keeps growing and some of the feedback I've been getting isn't solid because I've tried some tweaks meself and they seem ok.

GPS usage brings Tilt to it's knees (QuickGPS issue solved)

[SOLVED]
Just the other day, i tried to use gps in google maps and the whole device slowed down to the point where it was unusable and required a reset. I tried again, and had to reset again. I then tried several other GPS programs, and each time the unit became so slow it was unusable. Even after the program has been terminated, the unit continues to run slowly, and the back gets hot (like the GPS is still running). The only thing i can think of that changed things is installing the Maps for PDA program, which i have since uninstalled with no change.
My quickGPS is not updating, and says it cannot connect. Could this have an effect?
What the heck is going on?
UPDATE:
Ok, a bit more research found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1965983&postcount=14
It WAS QuickGPS after all. After following these instructions (deleting the key and loading the attached replacement keys) everything seems to be working great!
I never had to do any fix with my QuickGPS and it works perfectly. No slowdowns for me!
Me either but if I ever do at least this fix is around.
i have had two tilts.. i think the newer ones are a lot slower than the old ones..
i miss my old one..

Yeah, these Gadget specific forums tend to get more negative comments... and newbies reading these forums get the wrong idea, alltough I believe 99% of the users are extra happy with their devices...
I just upgraded to Panosha Shine On 0.9 Light ROM and Radio v1.00.25.05... bunch of tweaks found here at XDA and the jewel is AWESOME...

Yes, another big hand up here. The Diamond is an amazing phone. Usually I loose interest for a new gadget after a couple of weeks. Now, after a bit more than a month, I'm still very happy with my Diamond. It runs smooth... (using SwiftBlade's latest rom (v5) and some XDA tweaks)
more than happy

As much as I researched, and badmouthed the iphone.. and bought a htc diamond. I actually tried an iphone yesterday and was blown away by the interface. The touch screen is so much more sensitive, you dont need to apply any pressure. I have noticed on my diamond i have to apply more pressure in the corners than the middle of the screen.. it gets annoying. As much as I hate to say it I am starting to regret my decision to be anti-apple. I am running elite 3 rom with spb mobile shell, and yes it is smooth.. but it is nowhere near as smooth as the iphone.

Why should i move to an iphone forum when i own a htc diamond? You dont understand how much I hated the idea of the iphone... I convinced many people not to get one, I also have a huge list of reasons not to get one. My point is yes I thought my diamond was running smooth as silk, then I tried the iphone which i hated so much.. and THAT really is smooth as silk, now when I use my diamond it feels sluggish in comparison. I think a lot of the people saying their diamond is smooth havn't tried an iphone. I still prefer the diamond because it can run background processes, mind you.
Theres no need to be a ****, post count dosnt mean anything. Maybe you should take some lessons in grammar if you're going to accuse people of not being able to read.

Basic Battery life tweaks...

Aside from a new ROM and Radio, what else can be done to improve battery life? I thought this could be a new thread in which to summarise essential, obvious and often forgotten tweaks that help alongside ROM and Radio changes. This would be especially useful for newbies who are unsure about their new Diamond (such as myself recently).
Please contribute guys!
S.
p.s. I have decided to keep my Diamond, even though I have the choice to buy an Omnia. It's a great phone made even greater by the thoughtful and kind people on here. A community like this is a great attribute to consider when buying a new phone imho.

Are there any drawbacks to enabling all the power management features; what does they mostly do? I have looked and the acronyms mean little to me i'm afraid
Also, how do you turn off customer feedback and error reporting? Mine is already off due to Swift 6.0 anyway.

Yes, and inherit an incredibly chunky phone, thus taking away one of the main advantages of the Diamond - its sleekness.
Oh come on, its not that bad... only 3mm extra!
I saw a pic of it and I thought it made the phone look ridiculous. It may have been a misleading pic though...

That's a 3rd party version HTC has released their own which isn't a 1800mah like the one posted above it's 1340mah and shouldn't be as chunky.
The HTC version is here http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=166204 waiting for better side by side pics.
Yes, its a misleading pic cos thats the 1800mah battery ffs! That battery adds about 5/6mm to the Diamond, so yes, it is ridiculous but it is by no means the official one, which looks ok by comparison.
Fair enough. I look forward to seeing the 1340mah version then...
Side by side pics here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2576815&postcount=27
Does nobody bother searching on here? Or reading the accessories section?
Clearly not!
Calm down ffs! I thought I had already seen a pic of the battery and so I didn't feel any need to search for more pics. Plus, as bizarre as it may sound, we don't all spend every day of our waking lives on here...
I will only say this once - this forum contains a lot of conflicting information mostly caused by people posting without searching or looking in the appropriate location first. And saying you 'thought' you had already seen a picture of the battery is utter bollocks as you were able to post a direct link to it, which presumably would have given you the opportunity to actually read it again and realise it wasn't the official one.
Erm, no mate. I saw a pic of what I thought was the extended battery via typing 'htc touch diamond extended battery' into google. I then recalled the pic due to this thread and so went to find it again. I didn't bother reading details about the battery as I thought there was only one kind of extended battery. I know, it's a sin eh? Definitely worth your snide remarks?
Why don't you just pipe down and stop trying to act like some sort of adjudicater, it's tiresome and is far worse than repeat threads.
I understand your reasoning, but you also need to understand that I (and many others)am still feeling my way around this site. If this bothers you, don't enagage.

All the more reason to search then
I am not by any means a self appointed adjudicator - I sympathise with the guys who do moderate this forum though.
Anyway, whatever, sorry if I was being 'snide' but was in a bad mood anyway - strangely enough it has improved considerably!
is this the offical htc extended battery? ive heard the others interfere with gps?? can someone confirm this?
Is it possible to focus on the battery tweaks again? I thougt it was a good idear!

please help I'm about to buy X1 ?

hi all
i want help please from the experts , i have some questions about the X1 ,
1- is there is any differences between the silver and the black color in the speed issues or any other difference ?
2- upgrading to wm6.5 with pure rom has any drawbacks like battery runs out so quick or makes the phone slower ?
3- is the sliding mechanism still stable after usage long time ?
4- the loud speaker volume is it loud enough ?
while i'm browsing the forums i found a lot of problems that the xperia's owners face , like cam stop working , the phone not boot , screen stop working , is this a reason of something like careless in usage or flashing the rom or any other reason ?
all of this reasons push the fair on me before i but the X1 , please experts i need help from you to reassure me b4 i buy it , especially the speed of the phone because has a lot of complains about the speed and response of the phone .

1. There are no differences in speed in regards to color.
2. I haven't used the Pure Rom.
3. The sliding mechanism is the best I have ever seen, felt, and used.
4. The Loud Speaker Volume is not loud enough in public places of with the television on. Not suggested for music playback.
No, I have not faced these problems on my X1
Yes, the phone is extremely slow for a Windows Mobile device.
Also, there are more problems that you should be aware of. After a long span of use, the device will show cracks and lose it's paint. Second, the keyboard will lose it's sensitivity within 2 years (phones are suppose to maintain a functional keyboard forever).

Thirded. Ultimately the only major problem I haven't been able to solve either through Sony repair or tweaking is the sluggishness of the phone. I would say that I now have a phone that does nearly everything I want, but it's fairly slow. I also wish the camera and video recording were better, but they are better than what you might expect on a WM phone, I guess.

Insane Battery Life

Hello guys!
I wanted to make a battery calibration on my Galaxy S21 5G and i made a battery test on the road.
The phone is 5 months old.
So this is the measurement from 100% battery to 3%.
The Screentime is 11 hours and 56 min. (always on wifi) & 40 min. of music streaming on 4g (9% battery).
I think the Screentime is fantastic!
I used some tweaks from here:
[DISCONTINUED] Samsung Galaxy One UI - Optimization Guide
THIS IS A SUGGESTED CONFIGURATION FOR SAMSUNG DEVICES OUT OF SUPPORT/CLOSED I - RECOMMENDED SETTINGS To Start With - Factory Reset before starting optimisations - Factory Reset after every Major update (One UI/Android) - Remove SIM before first...
forum.xda-developers.com
and the Screen was constantly on 48Hz with Galaxy Max app.
The Performance was completely fine.
Now if this is with 48Hz, imagine what insane battery life can you get on a Galaxy Ultra with 10Hz.
Thanks for the tag, glad i helped

It doesn't make sense anyway, so changing the brand of phone your approach is weird in my eyes, having an S21 to make it as interesting as an older generation smartphone, you might as well buy older generations. You will gain 2x more battery again. A nokia 3310 would last 1 week in autonomy, that would be more suited to your needs. Sorry

Damn, you turned off all these features and crippled the phone but left a super obvious optimization untouched.
Using WiFi calling, you can enable airplane mode, effectively turning off your whole cellular radio.
While I'm at home, my phone is always on airplane mode, so it's not looking for towers, switching networks, etc. Depending on your provider and location, it can noticeably help with battery drain, mostly in standby.
Also...wtf Norton 360? It looks like it used a ton of battery and it's such a grandma move to have Norton on your cellphone. It's just weird to remove all the nice features of the phone, for which you paid, al in the pursuit of better battery life, but leave obvious things like this in... just my $0.02
