Caller ID issue! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Can someone tell me how to show my contacts when receiving an incoming call without the area code?
Thanks
Chink

I'll second that query!
I have my contacts progreammed with country code ie +61 3 99999999
In-country calls come in as 03 99999999 so the contact is not displayed
Silly!
Ah - try this
Use a registry editor and go to HKCU\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch value is by default 8, i.e 8 Digits. Change that to 7 and soft reset

Thanks Robinbb
But can you guide me thru step by step please. Is that a software i need to download and if so where can i get it?
Thanks
Dino

Make your Diamond ring longer......

This tweak doesn't have anything to do with the registry or anything remotely technical so don't worry about applying it it will take less time to do than to read this post!
If you think you Diamond's ringing time before it goes to voicemail is too short then you can do this to lengthen it.
It don't know if this works on all networks at least I know it works on Orange UK.
Go to phone type the following.
**61*07973100123*11*30#
Press call...wait for a confirmation....done!
I'll explain a little more, this should work on all networks and is not a "Diamond" specific tweak, it just tells the network's system to let your phone to ring longer for the person calling you before it goes to voicemail, or the "This person cannot take your call message".
The important thing is the middle part.
After the **61* part is the number for your network provider's voicemail service, in my case on Orange UK it's 07973100123, please check with your network provider what this may be, they may call the number the "access you voicemail from abroad or any other phone" number.
The *11*30# part tells the system how many seconds to ring for, this can be anything between 10 and 30 seconds in 5 second increments. - 10, 15, 20 and so on...
Please let me know if this works on other UK providers, and re-post with your findings, i.e. what the voicemail access number is for each one.
How to check if it worked? Phone yourself and see how long it rings for!
Happy Days!
.G.
Edit 23:51 12/08/2008:- It won't work with the short code for the voicemail.
i.e. the 123, 901, 171 numbers - it had to be the full version. Again from an Orange handset the voicemail number is *Hotkey 1 or 123, To listen to
voice mail from another phone is 07973100123.
Heh, Sweden Tele2/Comviq it's **61*46252(voicemail number (in my case 222))**30#
Just tried it but using 901 (for o2) instead of the Orange voicemail number.
Haven't tested it but it did say 'Succeeded' in a notification bubble so it must've done something right.

Wow thats an old one I remember that from about 10 year ago when some nokias had the menu option to divert for 10,20 or 30 seconds in a menu...
Or you could just change it in the phone
Go Start->Settings->Phone->Services and ( don't know what's it called in english ) menu option ... then press 'get settings'.
Chose 5,10,15,20,25 or 30 seconds...

Sure my Friend:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/PhoneCallFwd/DelaySeconds
It's a Dword Value, so put your value! (20 for 20 seconds,25 for 25...)
Guess by the age of this thread it may have been solved elsewhere, but having recently come across this problem and tried the **61* and settings\phone\service\-no settings- and the reg hack would like to solve this as well.
Not sure why I don't have no 'service, listed under settings\phone\service?
I have an htc diamond with a t-mobile sim if it helps?
Brilliant ! Worked a treat (**61*XXXXX ...) Thanks a mil !
great info

this has now sorted it so i have abit more time to get to the phone 10/10
am I doomed ?
None of the above methods worked.
Tried
- calling **61*+33610061766*11*30# (for french SFR) : msgbox says "Opération réussie" apparently, OK
- Nisse's method (Start->Settings->Phone->Services) keeps displaying 20s after I change it to 30s, close the settings and try again
- ZeuBug's : Registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/PhoneCallFwd/DelaySeconds surprisingly displays "30" as value
- have soft reset the phone a couple of times,
but, whatever I do
- the settings always display "20 s"
- the call rings no more than 3 times, which is never enough to pull it out of tight jeans pocket! (no, solution is not to use a handbag, thanx)
Any idea if an other setting somewhere might be blocking or overriding this one?
____________________
16/09/2009 : After controlling with HTC tech support + operator (french SFR) tech support, the problem lies with the operator: SFR does not allow changing this setting!!!!!
Apparently, french Orange users can't either? (to be confirmed by Orange users)
just for those with same problem, initial ring delay can be turned down with :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=894882#post894882
The wm5_ringdelay_patch_normal-v1.2.zip contains a cab which does turn down the inital delay so I now get 4 rings instead of 3 before transfer to voicemail.
Great thanx to Tuatara

Did you try it?
And Kevin Mitnick participate to the software conception
Wow this really does work! Tried it on my att Fuze and after a bit of configuration it unblocks it all. It asks for you voice mail number though, i don't know why though. It also changes all of your call forwarding numbers to theirs rather than your default voice mail number. People calling you still go to your voice mail like normal though, maybe that is why they need your voice mail number in the beginning.
can someone help me out? i cant seem to get this to work, i get the blocked calls and all but i cant access my voicemail what number do i need to set as my voicemail number that i call to get my messages?
im on tmobile USA in california
edit*** i got it to work
Im in the UK so cant try this, but just a thought.. you should combine this service with this thread to make it all automatic!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=451309
great tool, soon my phone can do anything
i used to use this all the time before...
its always been here, the only new concept here is its available to everyone!!
once anyone calls an 800 number with a private number it automaticly gets unblocked (its the law) and then trap calls just forwards the call back to u!
u can do it on ur own all u need is an 800 number with a cheap plan!
under phone settings u need to set condintional forwarding for busy to ur 800 number, then forward ur 800 number back to u!
the only downside is u have to let the phone ring through if u want it to go to voicemail.
(u can mute it)
is there anyway to use this feature and also integrate it with YouMail? i really love YouMail and all the features they give for free!

Yes I have youmail as well, so I played with the setting......
all you have to do is......on the trapcall setting when it tell you to put the phone number that you see on your phone "That is you carrier voicemail" instead of putting that phone number in, you put the youmail phone number (17142043114)...........That is all you have to do.

You do it the Trapcall settings
Where you put the forwarding number that is where you put the youmail number
1. Sign in to your Trapcall account (on computer)
2. now go to the settings tab and under that select My Phone
3. under Phone Overview click carrier edit
4. select your carrier and the click update
5. When it say "We Need More Information!" there will be a box asking for a forwarding number, put in the youmail number
"17142043114" click I'm Done
6. Under Program Phone you will see where you have to dail the number on you phone (*004*18669676590*11# and hit SEND) after that click
I did this.
That should of work............ Enjoy unblocking people

[ROM] Jademan SuperROM v3 - CE OS 5.2.20771 (Build 20771.1.4.6)

The new SuperROM 3 adds 'Mobile Location Reporting' to the already tried and tested SuperROM Version 2.3.
This advanced feature will enable you to locate your Jade if ever lost or stolen and is built into the ROM so it even survives a hard reset. Simply send an SMS to your Jade with your secret password and it will reply with a location report.
If a new SIM card is put in the device it will send an SMS message to the pre-programmed number informing you of the new phone number and IMSI number of the new SIM.
This is a new application written especially for the Jade and is exclusive to the SuperROM. It adds no overhead to the device and is only activated when a message is received with your password and for a few seconds when your device is restarted. Written in C++, the tiny code requires no .NET framework and adds no extra size to the ROM.
I have been testing this new feature for the last four weeks and it works very well. Please leave your comments both positive and negative to allow me to refine/improve the 'Mobile Location Reporting' feature.
Full intructions are included in the README file.

Wow that's nice jademan.... will it interfere with guardmobile which i would like to install?? it has few more options like callback etc?
and does this mobile location reporting program survive hard reset??... meaning, if the intelligent thief hard resets my phone and then insert his sim, would it work and send a sms to a predefined no?? (too much, i know )
Anyway thanks for this too
Thank god i din flash the superrom ver 2.3.. i can straightaway go to ver 3
Even though this is UK-Eng, I shouldn't worry about anything if I were to install this on USA right?
^ yeh nth to worry... jademan already answered that in the 2.3 superrom thread
Hi Jademan,
can you cook an German Version of your Super-Rom?
My first comment to the new feature in your SuperROM v.3:
Affter flashing i don't get any SMS from 'Mobile Location Reporting'.
If i send a SMS with "my-password" i get an SMS back with Carrier, CellID, LAC, MNC, MCC, RSS and "GPS failed to get a position fix." (no GPS in the house )
This tool looks to be very good, but if the 'Mobile Location Reporting' does not working on SIM-Card changing it's only half so good...

Even with just the CellID you may get an idea where it is (http://www.opencellid.org/). Google Maps uses this info to find you when it can't use a GPS fix. I can usually get a fix indoors but it can take a while, the default timeout is 5 mins but you can try PASSWORD:30 to give it 30 mins to get a fix.
The SIM change reporting should work, did you tick the box and enter the phone number you want the reports sent to in international format?

Not sure about Guardmobile but they should work together, although Gaurdmobile won't survive a hard reset. If you want more features in 'Mobile Location Reporting' then ask here and I'll consider adding them.
Yes it does survive a hard reset as it's built into the ROM but the SIM reporting feature needs testing more. Please try it and leave your comments.

Hello,
I installed the firmware to my Jade, no SMS was sent to the predefined phone nr, the format was the right one, international (+4...)
I sent from the phone (with the predefined phone nr. saved in jade's firmware) a SMS with the password to my phone but there was no SMS sent back to the other phone.
Do I need to check anything to make this function work?
thanks!

Can you send an SMS from Jade, i.e. you have credit, etc.?
The password is case sensitive, i.e. abcde != Abcde and nothing after the password?
Did your Jade receive the SMS?
The SMS can be sent from any phone and reply goes to the phone that sent it. Pre-programmed number is only for notication of SIM changes.
net 3.5??
hey jademan, why don't you put net3.5 in to your perfectRom??? it would be great if you do so.

[Q] Voicemail text messages / Links

Hi,
For starters, please excuse me for the title - I really don't know how to formulate this and it might be the reason why Google couldn't help me this time.
Everyone in our team uses a Galaxy Note II - and one of them has the following problem :
When we get a text message indicating someone left us a voicemail message, we get a number of 5 to 6 digits (5555xx, where xx is the following number of that message in your mailbox). He's the only one who doesn't get that number as a touchable link that would immediately open the dialer and allow you to call that number.
I checked if it worked when you send him a text message with an actual complete phone number - and that works well. If anyone of us gets a text message with in it a succession of numbers - the numbers are always shown as link, regardless of it being a phone number or not. But not him.
I couldn't find a specific option for that in the settings. I don't think anyone of us did anything special to get that behavior.
Is this clear enough ? Can someone help with this ?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings,
Mike
