Dear all,
I have a big problem with my S300+. Recently, I have upgrade to WME 6.1... i have not that the phone turn to hard reset itself with a flicking scree most often when i do simple soft reset the phone... and I can do hard reset barely by pressing a lot of combine key... because it was flicking and it didn't response to a simple pressing button... right now the same problem happen to me, eventhough I try to do the same as i used to do, i cannot do the hard reset and the phone continue with a flicking screen of hard reset that does not reponse to any pressing button... Is there anyone have a good idea for me..

Hard reset doesn't work

I'm trying to perform a hard reset on my Tilt and it only does a soft reset (in other words, holding dwon the two softkeys and pressing in the stylus does exactly the same as just pressing in the stylus). I know I can do a hrad reset using software (CLear Storage), but has anyone else had this happen?

u are not doing it right ... make 100% sure the two soft keys are depressed while pressing in stylus
make sure its the 2 soft keys and only the 2 soft keys... hitting the send or end buttons will mess it up... keep holding them in after it starts to reboot too... till the screen comes up to press the send key..like half a second or so
you really don't need to waste all that time and give yourself a hard time with pressing all those buttons...u said u knew about the clear storage applications right?..
.....SO USE IT! clear storage IS a HARD RESET..does everything you need in a hard reset and saves you a lot of trouble..trust me.

Hard Reset
Switch the device off. Press and hold the "Volume Down Key" and "Action Button" (round button), at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the back of your device.

reset button doesn't work ???

hi,
my mda compact IV does not restart, it stuck on the green screen, nothing is possible
i've tried to hard reset it with volume down+center button + reset, but nothing happens,
is it possible that i broke my reset button; this because i've put an needle in the reset button, the needle went a little bit deeper, but nothing happens,
is there an other way to reset or start up the diamond ???
thanks already,
But only reset work ??
The reset button is in very bad position and is difficult press it
how to press
hi,
shall i press the reset button (on the bottom) with the stylus or with a needle,
or how long must i press it ?
thanks already,
I upload to you this guide for hard and soft reset in pdf file:
http://www.speedyshare.com/918458770.html
If your reset button is dead, you can try to do it like a smartphone.
Battery out
battery in
hold volume down and centre button
press power button for half a second and release it.
keep the rest pressed.
it should go to the hard reset procedure as if you'd used the soft reset button.
Have to say the hard reset for this phone is akward and cumbersome to say the least.

why? don't you have three hands?
something i learned from experience: try and hard reset without the back cover.
much easier to get to the "G spot" (that's how i call it)
to soft/hard reset i am using now software. somewhere in the forum there is a cab with a little app that gives you all the options: soft, hard reset, screen off and pda off.
i found it more and more already included in the new ROMs. so much more easier....
you can see it in swiftbl ROM thread:

Xperia Hard reset gone

Hi all.
I'm a bit concerned. All of a sudden the ability of my phone to fix itself by hard reset (L+R buttons > Power on) is gone. This is quite bad.
I can still perform a hard reset via the control panel (erase all data).
Anyone know what's wrong? After the last hard reset the phone wasn't like how it was to begin with at all - or how it was after any of the other hard resets. All of the SE customisation had gone, and only the first 4 panels were available.
How come hard reset isn't a dead cert, and why in the world has the hardware shortcut gone?
Thanks
Mine refused to do a hard reset using the power button + silver buttons, it kept complaining that there was "no image file".
For some reason, using the soft reset button instead of the power button seemed to work on mine, after using the soft reset button behind the battery cover with the two silver buttons it did a proper hard reset and it worked with no problems.
i did 2 hard resets on mine now and i had weird behavior too.
On the first hard reset i couldnt hard reset by pressing the two silver buttons and the power button, just nothing happened. I then tried to press the silver buttons and inserted the stylus into the hole on the back which worked.
As i did a hard reset for the second time method 2 didnt work anymore, therefor method 1 suddenly worked...very weird
mine, couldnt hard reset it by preseing L & R and then soft reset...
i did it by clearing storage in setting!
It happen to me too...I solved it this way
Assign the default to each button left and right and then try it again..
PD: to hard reset trhee botton togheter and then relaese first the power button and wait until screen turn white....
Sorry for bad english
i need help!
mine did the reset ok, but when connected to sony ericsson's ipdate service keeps flashing 'no image file' and the update service says device not recognised. any ideas how i can fix it?
I have a slightly different problem. x1 to cleanse his memory, I was enabled very strange program that was the code'1234 'and when I did it my X1 phone simply shuts down. When I start up back, I appeared on a white screen with a blue stripe on top, and in the middle of the screen wee dagger. I've tried all the ways to retrieve the telephone to life but nothing is party, and the Internet also can not find anything. Please help.
@ thomsonss1: try a hard reset. That should work. Report back if it doesn't and we'll think of something else
Noooo it's not working.... I even can't to put a pin code or mobile code....
it suck......
I am also having the "No Image File!" issue. Has anyone fixed their phone or am I SOL?

Call, End, D-pad buttons randomly stop working.

Like the topic says. The application, and power buttons and start menu buttons still work, but the end buttons and call buttons and dpad randomly stop working. Then I do a soft reset and they are fine. Its been doing this for quite a while. Stock Rom. Any ideas?

Try hard reset . Its the simplest and fastet test
I've had this randomly happen as well.. Sometimes simply hitting the power (standby) fixes it, sometimes a soft reset is necessary.
I've never had it not start working again after a soft reset, however.
any ideas short of a hard reset?

I had the same problem since yesterday, did the hard reset today after searching the forum and reading this post (pressed both soft keys together and reset with the stylus, then when the message arrive, press SEND key) and is working perfectly now.... so.... it was a software problem... fixed now! woot!!!!
next time.... if i had this problem, i will stop doing as my first action, shaking the phone, pressing it harder, blowing it, etc... next time, i will start with a hard reset...
