On my Tilt sounds and notifications/ Hardware buttons keeps disabling. I always like to keep hardware buttons sound ticked to enable me to avoid typing errors. However, this gets unticked after some time or soft reset.
This hasn't by any chance started happening since you installed Opera 9.5 beta has it?

No. I have, however, installed Netfront. Don't no if this problem started after install of a particular program. I have Informant, Address Book, PQZII, Netfront 3.3, Powerone Finance Calc, AEButton, Softmaker, Resco explorer
Hmm...afraid I'm in the dark then. I know many people (including myself) were having problems with the first beta of Opera 9.5 turning off all notifications (fixed in the latest beta), so I was hoping it was as simple as that.

Found out. It is AEbutton 2.6. Whenever I run this program, hardware button sound gets disabled. I have to enable again. Soft reset also runs my AEB plus from startup. Don't know the workaround yet.
Still does it. Nobody's found a workaround?

Hi, have a strange issue with my MDA-Vario III (Using Dutys 6.1)
My sound notifications seem to have a mind of there own and I keep missing emails and SMS's.
When I check the sound notifactions settings I can see that most are unchecked, disabling all sounds. So, I check them all again.... then a few days/hours later, I notice I have unread emails/SMS's etc. I re-check the settings and some Gremlin has unchecked them all again!
I've re-installed the ROM, and only have a few apps installed. (Opera 9.5 beta and google maps at the moment) and just the stock things on Duttys ROM.
Anyone got any ideas?

One post in 27 months, I'm impressed.
Sorry, no ideas what would cause this. Could be anything, I'd suggest a Hard Reset if you can, and if it is still a problem, try a different ROM.
Thanks
Dave
Known bug with Opera 9.5 Beta.
Check opera forums for workaround.

Same thing here starting today.
I just did a search in the Kaiser forum here for "notifications" and came across thread.
Reckon I'll heard to the Opera forums for the workaround.
Looks like this is the thread:

No this actually happens because of Opera 9.5.

Really????? any fix???
Umm I don't recall. I read somewhere that a guy had to write a script to change the Reg Keys back every time he shut down Opera.
Otherwise you would just need to uninstall Opera, for now.
I can't seem to find the thread I saw this in though.

No. But remember that even if it's a pretty serious problem this release is a BETA, which is by design not meant to be used in everyday life but only for volunteer users to find/report issues.
If you want bug-free software, either use an earlier stable version or wait for the final product
Other than that yes, a temporary manual fix is to set your notifications as you want them, export the related registry key to a file with a reg editor, and import it again everytime you exit opera to restore the settings. There are more details on the Opera Mobile forum.
Opera 9.5 beta 1 is the prob, until next beta is out, the temporary solution that works 100% is here:

Anyone have any suggestions for this one... I posted it on Google's Forum as well. I have done a bit of searching on XDA also with no luck thus far, thanks!
I have a Tilt with the HTC WWE 6.1 ROM on it, and everytime I use the directions option on Google Maps, I slide the keyboard open, select add new destination, and try to type an address. The cursor will move as I type, but the text cannot be seen... it is as if the font for this particular section goes to white, because the info comes up when I finish typing and go back to the screen to begin routing the directions. This only seems to happen when in landscape on the Tilt, and works fine when in portrait.
Thanks for your help!
use kaiser tweak and disable clear type in landscape

Thanks for the response... used KaiserTweak and changed that setting... still no luck. This started as soon as the update was pushed to my phone. Software related?
Yeah I'm seeing the same problem. I checked the registry and don't see any Google Maps-specific setting that could be changed to fix it.

Thanks as well! If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. I am not great with the registry hacks, but can follow directions for sure, and would be willing to give anything reasonable a shot.
Thanks!
Same problem with Ie and Google maps
I have the same problem in IE and Google Maps after upgradinf to official HTC Windows mobile 6.1 upgrade. I'm posting this message using Iris Browser and I've not any problem.
Ciao from Italy
also try disabling the cleartype in your phones settings i had this problem also until i did this and it stopped
Turning cleartype off worked for me.
Is there a solution to this that will allow the use of cleartype fonts? Things are really easier to read with cleartype turned on. Any other cooked ROMs out there found a way around this?
Phone: AT&T Tilt
ROM: Duttys Diamond 3.5 V1
Thanks.

I'm seeing this issue since I updated Google Maps today to version 2.2.0.16, but I do not have cleartype enabled.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that in my previous post - the phone's Cleartype settings do not seem to have any effect on Google maps, indicating that it's an additional setting set in google maps. This is on 6.1, not 6.0, and the stock AT&T ROM.
Have Cleartype off in the OS, have the same problem (only in landscape) in Google Maps. Don't have the problem in pocket IE.
The only fix is loading Kaiser Tweak? I thought Advanced Config superseded it but I can't find the setting in there...?
In Advanced Config, click Menu then More Settings (I think it's called), and then click ClearType... There's a checkbox at the top. Good luck.
Hi,
I've tried a couple of the Opera cabs available on d0ugie's BlownFuze site:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446306
and I've found that they work fine the first time they are launched, but once they've been closed (I used the GScroll function mapped to a double tap to close the app), I couldn't re-open it.
I don't know whether it's specifically down to the way I'm closing it - I've restored my Touch Pro now, so can't re-test easily, but the stock version (v9.5 build 1522) supplied with my v1.90.00.00 HTC ROM has no such problem.
Anybody else seen this behaviour, and have any suggestions?
Cheers,
Steve.
I think I had such an issue. This was basically that Opera didn't close. If you have a good Task Manager you'll notice that one of the processes related to Opera still hangs around. If you kill it you'll be able to open new Opera explorer.
I had such issues with custom roms and new Opera builds. I now have a factory rom and it seems to be working fine.
ok - thanks.
It was probably how I was closing it, using GScroll that was the issue. If I venture down that path again, and the problem still exists, I'll probably write a program to shut Opera down completely.
Cheers,
Steve.
Since today (I think after installing XT9 keyboard) there is no notification anymore in the SPB Mobile Shell panel, if I have recieved a new text message.... On top of the screen the little icon of a enveloppe can be seen but the sms notification picture in SPB mobile shell stays empty.
Anybody an idea what causes this problem???
edit:
Problem got worse: now I cannot even sent text messages anymore (I can make a phonecall, I can use mobile internet)
I'm using the latest Dutch Generic Rom.
Hmmm, I used to have the same problem (the original, not your edit) due to a clash with XperiaTweak - you don't have that installed do you?
I actually do, but that went perfect since today..... But I've been using XperiaTweak already for a few weeks now and never had this problem..
The sms problem seems to be random.... Sometimes it does send a textmessage and sometimes it doesn't... Strange, maybe an overload of the sms server???
I think you should try to uninstall XperiaTweak and see if the sms icon lights up again. I had the problem 3 times and all 3 times it was a clash with Xperia Tweak. I'm pretty sure it didn't happen at first either, so I'd recommend that.

I'll try that
No succes, it's not XperiaTweak.
I think it's XT9 keyboard, which is also in It'jes roms
Or maybe the TMC software...
I uninstalled the XT9 keyboard because it screwed up my slide out keyboard. The hardware keyboard just echoed random characters no matter what I typed. The problem did not happen when I initially installed it. It took a while of use before the problem surfaced. Once I uninstalled the XT9, the problem went away. I'm using standard R3a.
So, I would be very suspicious of the XT9 keyboard since it is a beta software.
That's rubbish it didn't work, apologies for making you uninstall it! Perhaps it is XT9 after all.
p.s I'm sure you soft-reset after uninstalling XperiaTweak but just in case you didn't...
Try to de- and reactivate the "Messaging" Today-Plugin.
I had this also, try this:
http://freewareppc.com/communication/fixunreadcount.shtml
It fixed mine.
