I've only had my Diamond for about 10 days, and even though wifi was working fine at the beginning, i realised yesterday that it wouldn't turn on. Only a hanging scroller for a few seconds and Wifi would stay off no matter what I did, even hard reset. A problem that others have too as I read in other threads.
So, I called Orange a few hours ago (Saturday evening), explained the problem, and I'm getting a replacement tomorrow morning (Sunday!!!). If it actually happens, i have to give a BIG thumbs up to Orange for not busting my nerves to prove there's a fault with the device.
Hope it's not a frequent problem with the Diamond...
Hi all,
I have noticed the clock on my diamond runs slow. I dont switch the phone off but when I check the time its fallen back by about 3 mins everyday.
Any ideas on how I can rectify this?
Using .07 radio and duttys 1.6
Im having the same problem. Anyone got a solution?
really strange, never noticed before, but I'm currently using a different rom & radio
I have the same problem but it doesn't fall behind as fast, probably 3 mins in a week.
Using Stock 1.93 ROM
Would be great if someone could look into this.
same here....
I have been waiting for an answer for 2 months but no one seems to know how to solve this problem....
... and the same here ...
I have to set my clock every 5 days.
I think it is about 2 to 3 minutes a week.
mine is like 2-3 mins a day...
Same problem with mine: about 2 to 3 minutes a day delay everyday.
I'm using ROM version 1.93.831.1 WWE by the way.
I hope somebody can figure out this bug.
Thanks.
After I set Setting/Phone/Timezone to auto, my clock didn't skip any more. I don't know if it involves data usage though.
Johnny
I tried to tick that also, but it does not work for me...
No problems here on original rom.
maybe there is a serie with a bad crystal inside.

after midnight..clock is slow
Hello guys....
there's something I notified a few weeks ago, and I saw this thread, so I would like to tell you this...
everytime when it's after midnight for example: 00.20 and then when I turn on the screen with the powerbutton when it's in standby the clock will not move directly to the correct time, but it wil just flip very vast untill the right time....
Does anybody else have this problem to??? I hope somebody understand what I'm trying to say....It's not very frustrating, but at least it's annoying...
thanks guys!!

I have not tried it but will do so when I have time, i.e. when I'm still awake at midnight
Anyway before I go to sleep, I always turned off my unit to conserve the battery. Still the problem persists with regards to time delay of 2 to 3 minutes everyday.

That's what I also do...but still....very strange behaviour and especially if you just want to see before you go to bed, if you havn't missed a call or a text or so..
I don't know how to replicate it, but i've had this happen even at 11am! It doesn't really bother me, though. In fact, i quite like it sometimes! Because of the way it's doing it, I really doubt this is a bug... it must be something done on purpose. Perhaps you can contact HTC about it...

I already asked NisseDILLIGAF about this, and he also doesn't know how this could happen...actually sometimes it's quite funny, although I don't really mind...I was just curious if somebody else had the same issue...lol
tytn clock
have a tytn II and the same issue with me, the clock runs slower than normal time like 2-3 minutes within 4-5 days.

I have the same problem and posted two messages. I couldn't find a solution yet
I think this might be more wide spread that we think but its not getting noticed by people who sync with PC frequently. I have found that If you use active sync it resets the time to the PC time each time you connect!
Still needs sorting though!!
having the same problem. what I didnt like is my Sony Ericsson phone got an option to get the clock from network so dont have to bother about the time. my diamond seems to lag2-3 min a day. I tried the option GPS clock sync but still it's the same.( i use gps quite often)
ok i dunno what jus happened so i want sum1 else 2 try it kuz i kno im not the onli 1 who had problems using their gps in the 6.1 update. i sumhow fixed the gps problem....i installed GPStest and i tested every baud rate after that DIDNT work i put it bak on the default n let it sit there while i read on the forum n i looked bak n it had a fix..so i went into 2 live search n it got a fix ...i soft reset it and tried again n it got a fix pretty fast ...and the third time it got a fix realli fast .....my guess is maybe since your making it try different rates it kicks it bak into gear so to speak...sum1 else try it and let me kno their results please....thanx

In general....
If you're going to chat in a realtime system... as in... messenger... irc... even sms's... then write as compact, and as fast as you can. The objective is to get the message there.
Yet...
If you're going to write to a more perpetual system.. one the many will read, search.. contemplate and comment... like a web forum... a mailing list... an email.. or even a small comment to a blog... then write as correctly as you can.. Many will read your post... many will use the forum search mechanism to search... and due to your childish writing methods... most usefull search items will probably not work.
Now... as to your "problem" :
What GPS problems ? The first FIX is always slow.. even with QuickGPS. Its called a Cold fix for some reason.
Hot Fixes.. the second and behond (unless you wait a very long time to turn it on) is always faster.
I've used Oficial 6.0.. oficial 6.1 and tweaked/cooked 6.1...
All worked normally with TomTom 6/7... no problem what so ever.
You have a tilt with a keyboard and not some funky dial pad. You should always type properly.. Unless you're like me and just can't. HEHE
i tried reading this, and it hurt my brain
My brain hurt too, I gave up after the first line...

Ok, First let me apologize for my SMS style grammar. Sorry, It's a Habit. Anyways the problem was that people were having trouble with GPS programs after the Windows Mobile 6.1 update, not all but some. I was looking around the forum and I wasn't the only one, so I tried some of the advised solutions, one of them being to test your GPS with GPStest and I did. After I tested all the Baud rates it worked. Also, I know what a cold fix is but i couldn't get a GPS fix AT ALL. Even if I left the programs, running after about 5 minutes Live Search would say it couldn't get a fix and GoogleMaps would give me an estimated range of where I could be and it was huge, and this happened all the time. well, after what I tried it worked and I just wanted to see if it would work with anyone else. Once again, sorry about the grammar and it's not that I'm uneducated, I'm just lazy sometimes. Sorry, won't do it again.
I could not get a proper fix using the 6.1 cooked ROMs on my Tilt prior to the official AT&T release. I would take up to 10 minutes to get cold fix, outside, under a cloudless sky. When I had 6.0 I could get a cold fix in under a minute.
Since the Official 6.1 ROM has come out for AT&T, I have been able to get a cold fix just as fast as 6.0 on all cooked ROMs based off the official 6.1 ROM and newer. My guess is that one of the reasons AT&T took so long to get it out the door was fixing the GPS problem, whatever it was. God knows not even the geniuses here on XDA could not figure it out. I tried every fix and tweak I could find but nothing could help me get a lock like I used to on 6.0. I'm not putting down the devs here. I'm just saying that whatever the problem was, it must have been something else than what was suggested here.
I like dutty's ROMS but they are based on the HTC 6.1 ROM and not the AT&T ROM. That said, it does take a while getting a GPS fix while using TomTom 6. I have tried the GPStest tweaks but that hasn't worked. Anything else i can do?
That's just the difference between a cold fix and a hot fix.
This just sounds like the difference between a cold fix and a hot fix.
The difference is mostly tied to where you were located the last time you got a fix. But with a new OS install there is likely no past location data for the GPS radio to use so it has no idea where you are and thus no idea where the sats should be in relation.
Therefore when attempting a cold fix it sometimes takes a VERY LONG time for it to get a lock, sometimes you won't be able to get a lock on a cold fix without GOING OUTSIDE under a relatively clear sky.
But once you get that first lock the GPS can calculate the relative locations of ALL the satellites (not that it will be using or receiving the signals from all of them...).
Keep in mind tho that if you are a VERY long distance away from the last place you locked in a fix (like 300 miles or more) that can delay getting a new fix even though that would be considered a hot fix. But the bottom line is that the satellite location data is not 100% accurate since you are far from your last fix location.
But I cannot stress enough that you really should just GO OUTSIDE to get your first fix after a hard reset / new ROM install. Very few GPS receivers do well indoors and I know for a fact that the one in the Kaiser doesn't.
Ever since I upgraded to the at&t 6.1 update, I can't get my Tilt to tell that it even has a GPS device everywhere that I used to use it before the update. I let it sit until it tells me that I have no device or that I have a week signal. I have been trying to use both Telenav and google maps. someone please help give me an idea what I can do to fix this.
I have changed to radio _1.70.19.09 now i get great gps. under a min cold and a few seconds on a warm start.
hey
i also have the 1.70.19.09 and my cold fix always takes at least 2-3 min under clear sky!...which is wayyy to much imho!
I lost my phone the other week cabbie found it but it had been run over still working but no screen, replaced screen then no one could hear me on the phone but i could hear them, after pulling the thing apart several times and checking connections done a hard reset all seemed fine until i tried my Garmin XT it just sits there trying to locate satellites no matter what i do it will not work any ideas or should i give up on the phone any help would be much appreciated
steve
Did you try to use GPSGate? Same happens to me without it, some hard sreset fixes it, most do not, so I just hit GPSGate before starting any navigation software. Try it, and see. Sometimes I have to start QuickGPS first, then GPSGate and then iGo8, and I get satellite lock in less then 1min.
Hope isn't lost

Don't give up! There is a thread in this forum within a week or so ago that I replied to relating to a damaged antenna 'sticker' (the black sticker above the battery bay performs antenna functions) could that be the issue?
I don't get what has changed. Few months ago I was raving about how amazingly fast this phone picked up gps signal in 30 seconds or less compared to the old phone. But now it takes forever, even with the hotfix. Sometimes it's faster, but generally, very slow, particularly from cold, it can take several minutes or sometimes, nothing. Could having both tomtom6 and tomtom7 on phone be causing a problem? Or do you think it's time to format the phone and reinstall everything?
Use your QuickGPS more often to refresh data and it will pick up your sat's way quicker.
Hope I could help ya.

My QuickGPS is always updated.
you're not trying to get it to work in doors right ?
gps don't work well if at all inside the bricks block too much signal
same reason people keep sat discs outside

No suggestions but I'm experiencing the same issue which began about 5 weeks ago.
For no apparent reason tomtom took an inordinate amount of time to find a sat lock. Mid afternoon, clear sky, no hills/tall buildings for miles. I had to pull over and do a quick gps and restart tomtom. Tomtom was ok to the destination. Next morning, same thing. Day later, same thing. Week later, same thing. In (no particular order) North Lincolnshire, Norfolkshire, South Wales, South Coast, London, Derbyshire ... If I really want a gps lock before I set off I have to do a quick gps. Otherwise tomtom can take 5 to 10 minutes to get a fix.
I've been using totmom since version 2 and I've never had an issue like this.

I might try that then. I generally have quickgps updated or maybe a day left before it needs updating again. So maybe updating everytime before I set off and restarting tomtom will get that fix quicker. Thanks.
Had this behaviour too a while ago, after a soft reset or even after terminating tomtom and fire it straight up again solved the issue.
I have no clue or explanation, but you might give it a try.
i haven't experienced this issue since a few weeks; i flash my device on a regular base, (including radio if recommended), let's me think it has something to do with combination radio/rom.
Disable A-GPS
I was having a problem retaining a fix with TT6 on my Diamond. I did a bit of Googling and was advised to disable A-GPS. Despite it supposedly being there to improve things it did exactly the opposite. This might be totally unconnected to your problem of not getting a fix in the first place but I'd give it a go. Nothing ventured, nothing gained ......
