Hi,
I was wondering if there's an option somewhere to save sms to sim card instead of the internal storage. I want it to save to sim card until it's full and then start saving to storage. This was how it functioned in my previous Nokia phone.
If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Not on the SIM and not on the Internal Storage too! WinMo is designed to store them on Main Memory only to which it considers reliable and have access all the time unlike Storage cards. Power to Storage cards are shut-down when not in use to save battery!

I have a brand new XDA IIs and I just find it impossible to access the memory card, The O2 instruction book is useless. Can anyone tell me how to access the card. My friend has an old XDA and he can see and write to the card no problem so I know it is not a faulty card.
Thanks
Where are you looking for it?
Does it appear in the memory section of the Settings area?
Also, when you open file explorer and navigate to my device - you should see a Storage Card folder.
If its not there, try soft resetting the device and try it again.
Looking all over
Hi, if I use the file explorer I see storage but it only shows the internal memory, same in system when I click on memory only shows internal and not the card, yet the card works fine on my Mio pocket pc? Hope you can help

I hope yours is not a unique problem pertaining to your device. Else it might be a faulty SDIO slot. Did you test with another SD card?
Your SDBUS driver is designed to support detection of SD, USB, CF, CDROM, DVD and Hard Disk, and it should be ACTIVE under the registry entry HKLM\Drivers\Active\X (where X denotes a number) with
"Key"="\\Drivers\SDCARD\\SDBusDriver"
Perhaps you can ask the others for a copy of the CAB file to reinstall the SDBUS drivers?
Worst come to worst, you may have to rely on your warranty support.
Problem solved
Don't have the answer as to why, but my 512 SD works fine. The 1GB works in a friends XDA but not in my IIs.
Thanks to the two of you that offered help.
I have an issue with my new SD cards as well, but its in a Himalaya.
The problem is a very poor performance of the SD card in real life.
The benchmarks I ran show a good performance, but when using the card my Himalaya frequently locks up.
See this thread.
As I have the issue with at least 2 cards (Sandisk 512MB and Extrememory 1GB) and I do not have an issue with my Kingston 256MB I am suspecting the slot itself . . .
Hi there,
I just replaced my microsd card as the first one I had died a death. I've copied all the files over from the old one (backups - we love you!) but the phone is seeing the new card as Storage Card2 and thus none of the apps can see their data files and the apps installed on the old card won't work! Is there any way to make the Kaiser see the new card as the old one?
Thanks
Usually that happens when you save your IE cache to your SD card or something similar like email attatchments. When you remove you SD card it creates a folder on your phone and names it storage card. The easiest way to fix it would be to remove the SD card again and then delete the file called Storage card and then shut your phone off and put the SD card back in and reboot. It will then move the IE cache or whatever caused the problem back to the SD card and will only see 1 storage card again.
This is likely to be a recurring issue, though. If the SD card is put to sleep, it won't wake up quickly enough for apps that are writing to it. This is typically an issue when you're directing mail and/or attachments to the card rather than memory. Unless you really need to (due to space), it's easier to avoid the issue and just keep them on the device.
i have qtek 2020i,and i want to add a memory card of 512mb, but its not showing up, i dont know why, and the other weird thing is without memory card in the memory menu it shows a storage card of 59.68mb
but i dont have any card in the the card slot, which is at the top of the phone if i'm not wrong lol kindly help me out with this, and my card is working fine on my laptop, i format it as both fat and fat32 but nothin works on my qtek2020i.
and also the rom update link is not working for me, the folder is empty
ftp://xda:[email protected]_v1.11.162_Radio_1.04_Camera_Fixed.rar
Ok the 59.68Mb storage that shows up is an Internal storage, so that's normal, the problem with the SD card may be due to it being SDHC rather than standard SD, which the Alpine cannot read. I have tried many memory cards types in my XDAIIi and have never had an SDHC one work, I know that there are also issues with using microSD cards with adaptors.
The non-availability of ROM images is due to a certain huge software company asking for them to be removed, regardless of the enormous benefits to that companies users in having access to such a useful resource.
(however the careful use of google may help, especially if you are looking for a specific filename, since some of the images you are looking for are stored on various other sites....... Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed.rar springs to mind ...... Seek and ye shall find...... oh and cut and paste shall set you free ).

Type encrypt into settings search
I cannot check it because I don't have the MicroSD card yet. Are you sure such an option exists? Because if it does't exist I may cancel my order and find another solution...
May be when the card is not inserted, the option is hidden??

All I can see is this. 32GB Sandisk Ultra inserted. It probably doesn't exist, sorry.
Broadcasted from Zeta Reticuli
OK, I inserted my MicroSD card into my phone, its working fine, BUT I cannot Encrypt it! I cannot find such an option in the settings!
And I watched video on youtube a guy found the setting in the Settings but I cannot find it!
I want to encrypt my SD card so that if I lose my phone or it gets stolen my photos cannot be recovered!!!
Hi
If you format your memory card for internal use, it should encrypt it for use only on your particular phone (this should encrypt it to match the internal storage on your phone). Should your phone get formatted, you will also lose access to the card.
Data lost and not showing in SD card - Nokia 5 Android 9
Hi, My SD card on Nokia 5 suddenly stooped being recognized one day and all my apps and data was lost. I switched off the phone and reinserted the card, but no use. Then I took the card for recovery with a data recovery company. They called and told me that all they can see on my SD card is garbage and it could be encrypted or its logical drive could have completely been wiped. I had encrypted my phone but I haven't encrypted my card. Any pointers on what should I do next?
The data is very precious to me and I need to recover it. This is a SanDisk SD card 64 Gb, class 10 used with a Nokia 5 with Android 9 version
Anyone else have an issue when trying to format an SD Card as Internal Storage? I just got a 128GB Samsung EVO Plus UHC 3 Class 10 SD Card for the purpose of extending the small 64 gb storage on the unit. When its formatted as internal it shows as a 256 GB Card with 132 GB Being used. When i go to app mgr and transfer the apps to SD Card i see the relative increase in space being used on my SD Card however my internal storage space stays just as full, which i believe shouldn't be the case. Anyone else have a similar issue, or know any workarounds to this issue? I do not think its device related as my girlfriends Razerphone 2 is acting the same way with the card i got for her. When we format it as removable storage it shows up correctly as a 128 GB but i dont want to be restricted to media only i dont plan on removing this card from the device.
Any assistance is much appreciated!
Thanks!
I have same issue but know not ofa work around or fix.
Even when you move apps to the SD card, the amount of data moved varies, and you'll still have necessary files on the internal storage. So I doubt you'll ever fully resolve that.
Regarding the idea in general, it's not a good idea to install apps on to the SD card in the first place. They are not designed to handle the amount of data writing that happens with normal app use and can corrupt the card relatively quickly. It's best to leave apps on the internal storage, and just put independent files (photos, videos, documents, etc) on the card.

Yeah but that isnt quite the issue. I see the gigs of storage space on my SD get used but the space on my internal storage remains exactly the same as it was before i moved as well. I paid extra for the Class 3 card just for better read and write speeds to be usable as internal storage. The 64 gigs on this is too little and id rather not have to redownload apps every time i decide to change a game.
On my previous HTC 10 with Android 8 when i combined my SD as internal it basically combined as a single storage with my internal had just one big storage drive. I didnt have a class 3 card for that one, it definitely slowed things down but was hoping for better results with this faster SD, just now it seems like the feature is broken and not working as intended on this Device model altogether
