Hi there,
When I use the long press hang up button option, It turns on air plane mode well by shutting down all wireless signals; but it won't turn them back on if I press and hold it once again: the gsm icone goes from an 'X' to an '!', but it won't connect to the network.
I have to manualy run the comm manager and hit the Airplane mode activation to get it to work.
Does anyone have the same issue? Any idea?
Thx
I also had the same problem, I just don't use it anymore - just use Comms and the options there

Thx: did you get your phone unlocked as I did? That could be the reason.
Anyone else with the same issue, or a solution?
same issue here, and unfourtunately no solution as far as I know...

Hi everyone,
I used to have a Hermes. Back then I was able to disconnect the GPRS data connection by pressing + hold the disconnect button (the red phone button). However, after changed to Kasier, pressing + hold this button = lock the phone. I need to go to the Comm. Manager and choose flight mode and change back in order to make that connection to disconnect. Anyone knows other simple method to do so? Thanks a lot!
Regards,
rcyh
heh, there's also the data connection tab in the com manager? only have to push it once vs. twice for flight?
Oh yes. That's one method. But do you know that is there any hardware button I can press+hold instead of going into Comm.Mgr to achieve the same result? Thanks again!!
Hold the 'hangup' button (the red one).

If you do that the phone will lock itself it does not disconnect anymore

How about tapping on the G icon on the first line of the screen above and select Disconnect? ok, its not a hardware button, but its not complicated.
on the other hand, why would anyone want to disconnect gprs? its not like it costs money to just have the connection on while not transferring data, is it?
There is a discussion here, I've loaded a new com manager to be able to turn off 3G when not needed. I also am using AE Button Plus to map back keys to do things like disconnect GPRS, works great.

I think it's more about the battery not getting empty too quick
Try these method:

So under power settings i have my backlight to turn off in 10 secs and device to turn off in 40.
With wifi connected, when the device turns off, it disconnects wifi and when I start if it connects again. This is thoroghly annoying!! Because I need to keep pressing something on the phone so it doesn't got off and disconnect wifi.
Could someone Please tell me how I could stop this crazy feature?

Hi Giddy!
I have a solution for you...
I don't know if you already installed Advanced Configuration tool 3.3, if not you can find it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
After the installation, you click on the program button, go to menu (right bottom) ,select more settings and then 'connection'. there should be an option: 'Enable Wi-Fi on standby mode' click on that, click on ok and exit the prog..when it's asking you to soft-reset, do the soft-reset and after that your Wi-Fi should work whenever you lock your device...
Good luck
Regards,
Jeroen
Yes I do have Advanced Configuration, didn't know that was there. Thank you!!!!

after replacing a dead digitizer LCD screen, now the power button is gone...
is there an alternative way to turn the diamond on?
I have tried hitting the reset button or connecting it to the computer, but nothing worked...
the guy who fixed my phone somehow got it to run yesterday, and he told me that he did it by putting it into flash mode
did he mean bootloader mode? but without the power button, how do I access the bootloader mode?
I need your help!! THANKS!!
I have same problem. please help....!!!!!
Pull out the stylus. It should turn on automatically
Nope
That won't work if the diamond is turned off-off.
i've tested : connect your diamond on the pc, and pull off the batterie and reconnect her (2 or 3 x) and at a moment the mobile turn on.
Hi everyone,
I got a HTC Tytn 2 and i have a problem with it.
When i boot the phone it starts up and goes into windows like every windows mobile phone.
But when i press the standby button my screen wont go out of standby.
Only when i reset the phone it will work again.
Anyone got idea's ?
Oke, since no one responded.
Is there any way how i can make the Power Button replaced with the Speed Dial Button.
Because i think my power button is broke.

Have you at least tried backing up your data and doing a hard reset first ?
Yes, and i have also tried to put on a new rom and even updated the radio.
Iam a little bit out of idea's...
here are some more ideas:
1. how to test the power button: you say pressing the power button does not wake up the device once it goes to sleep. conversely, does pressing the power button put the device to sleep while the screen is on? if the power button is unable to make the device go off->on as well as on->off, then the power button is likely broken. if pressing the button achieves on->off, then the power button is probably ok and some software issue becomes more likely.
2. how to enable wake on pressing ANY hardware button: look for an option in Settings. i can't tell you the exact option because the ROM i am using does not have a link for this option, but this option does exist 100% in stock ROM and in lots of other ROMs. it contains settings like "Lock all buttons except power button" and "Keep all buttons unlocked" or something similar. by using the second option, pressing ANY hardware button while the screen is off will wake up the device.
3. you can use AE button plus to perform even more advanced button (re)mappings.
4. just to be sure that your device is really working correct, does the screen wake up when you call the phone or when you receive a text message? if it does not wake up even then, then search for "sleep of death".
Thanks for the response.
I think its a Service of Death problem.
Because when i try calling/smsing it, it wont go on
The buttons do work then...hopefully there's a fix for this problem...
Oke, i tried switching to 2G or 3G only but that didn't fix my Standby of Death.
I also bought a new sim card of vodafone so i wont get a No Sim error.
But what can i do now about it...it hangs like every 5 min...
Okay, after a will testing, the phone hangs every time its almost like when iam on the road with my tytn 2 and placing it upside down, it hangs.
But when iam putting it in the leather holder it doesn't hang.
Any had the same problems ?

Maybe it's hardware and something is coming loose
Greetings :O)
I have a friend who broke his nexus one power button, So what I did is installed a free utility called "wakeall", Which allows to unlock the phone from sleep state via volume buttons.
I also installed "Screen off and lock utility" so he can turn his screen off manually (sleep mode).
I encountered a problem :
When i turn on the phone from sleep mode via the volume button, It turns the wifi on by itself.
The rom is original 2.3.6 as i observed (it's not a rooted machine in my opinion.
I'll appreciate how to solve this.
Thank you
Got it - It was from something called Battery Booster that had a setting to turn wifi on after screen unlock..
Thank you (And Thank me too :O)
