Hi
I have 3 mods requests for our beloved diamond :
Is it possible to:
- decrease general volume when using a headset? The minimal volume is too loud even at one bar with some high quality mp3's
- make hardware volume buttons de/increase volume 1 by 1 bar instead of 3? (I know this has been asked before but no answers yet)
- mark ALL new emails as read in the WM mail application (even better from TF3D, but it's a start)
PS: I just found a nice tip: by moving the finger horizontally in the mail application, you can swich between the different messages and the different accounts (maybe you knew that already)

Hi all, on my previous HTC Wizard the side slider would control the volume of callers when on a call. During an incoming call if I needed to mute the ringtone, a quick slide of it would do that too. In fact all mobiles I know will mute an incoming call ringtone by pressing volume up/down.
But how are either of these two features possible on the Kaiser?
hmmmm..my scrollwheel does control the call volume
thats wierd, even on a stock rom tilt you can use the scroller for volume during call.

Do you actually own a Kaiser? or are you just asking how it works?
as both these features you have mentioned work fine on the Kaiser's scroll wheel.
Okay I am starting to get to the bottom of this. I do own a Kaiser, but have the HTC Enlarge Title Bar app installed. This was a very useful app that made finger usage easier. When you tap say the volume icon, it produced a large bubble with bigger icons for volume, data, phone, etc.
I have uninstalled it and the scroll wheel does now change volume during a call. Before, just the bubble would pop up! Shame, as it was an otherwise nice app.
BUT, I still cannot mute an incoming call ringtone like all other phones allow you to. Any ideas on that one?

Mine mute's with the wheel.
Not muting by wheel..
I have the exact same problem; cannot silence the ringtone by using the scrollwheel, worked perfectly on default ROM...
Maybe has something to do with S2U2? (Cause i didn't have it on the previous ROM)...
Any clues would be nice!
I already posted the solution above. It does now seem to also silence the ringtone if you uninstall the Title Bar app.
Does anybody know/use this program?
I think its THE application that I love the most on my PocketPC/Herald, but I never see it mentioned anywhere.
So I've deciced to make a post about the possibilities of this program:
(No I DO NOT work for them or know any of them personally )
What is it?:
- A piece of software that will let me create custom (phone) profiles for Windows Mobile Professional devices.
So, ok there are more programs like this, so why this program?:
- Because it is VERY clean on your TodayScreen, just one line displaying the profile selected.
So what makes me so excited about Profiles for Windows Mobile?
- Because every custom made profile allows you to run a program of choice.
You can then link that profile to start at a certain time, or start it manually by pressing a software button (or select the profile from the dropdown list on the todayscreen)
or a hardware button.
- You can also enable/disable the Phone/Wifi/Bluetooth per profile.
- You can also switch the screen (portrait/landscape) per profile.
This allows me to do the following on my Herald:
- I've created these profiles, which perform these steps:
* normal
this profile sets the phone volume to normal volume and starts every day at 7am.
* silent
this profile I select by hand if I don't want to be interrupted
* vibrate
this profile I select by hand and puts the Phone on...vibrate (go figure), nice for meetings
* internet
now it gets good, this profile I select by hand (an icon under programs) and does the following:
- sets the call/sms volume to a certain volume
- enable the WiFi connection
- start PocketIE
* itunes
i love this one 2, does the following (when I tap on the icon)
- sets the call/sms volume to a certain volume
- enable the WiFi connection
- start Salling Clicker (remote control for installed itunes on my pc)
* headphone
this is the most used one and I start it by simply pressing once on the right softkey button on my Herald:
- sets the volume of the phone ringer/sms low
- starts Coreplayer
Now I don't go DEAF anymore when someone is calling me
Here's the official site, but I really do recommend you get the slightly older version: 2.1.0.558, because it's slightly faster and works beautifully under WM6.1.

Edit: I know this looks like a big advertisement, but I just like the program and want to bring it under your attention and show you the possiblilities
Hi,
I just got this unit a couple of days ago, having used the Treo 750 for the past 1.5 years. A few questions I would like to ask
- Is there a way to increase the number of calendar entries that I can see on the main TF3D screen? I used to have SPB Diary and it allows me all kinds of configuration.
- Is there a quick way to switch between silent mode and normal mode? Right now, I have to click on 'Silent' but I have to increase the volume to get out of silent mode. The 750v has a very very nice physical toggle that allows me to do just that. I'm pampered by that!
- For incoming call and SMS (after that reg hack), the phone wakes up from stand-by. Is there a way to lock the screen until you press a button or something?
- SMS interface. Is there a quick way to scroll through the matches on the receipient box (instead of just showing me the first match) if you have multiple matches? Just like the phone dial interface. Days when I'm not feeling lucky (it's not the first match), I have to go 'Add receipient' and search from there. The 750v allows me to do just that, it's a lot faster and more efficient.
Thanks.
Regards,
JK
I have been using the kaiser since dec/2007 and not everything is working as expected.
Background - I have a second phone SE W880i and I am very satisfied with the user interface.
Do you think there will be ever an easy way to use the kaiser as phone such as a ordinary phone? I would expect the kaiser to be more than that...
Anyway, my questions are quite straightforward: (for now
1) How can I prevent the phone from waking up when I receive a text message? (because mostly something in my pocket touches the screen and calls my contacts)
2)How can I set up the function of the JOG (the wheel button on the side) (I would like to be able after holding the wheel a task manager to pop up and with the wheel to choose a running program and to activate it with a push of the wheel again)
3) Is there a dialer / dialer skin to enable really easy and accurate access of the number-pad with fingers?
If you know a program, solution or workaround, please let me know...
Edited: [First]Second Conclusion 14 September 2008
After reading the posts (see below), searching and testing I found a good solution for the Kaiser to fulfill its function as a phone using these components:
Dialer - Minimal dialer (fast, simple, easy to push the keys with fingers(thumb)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395086
Contats - iContact (either the original (now v0.8) or iContact BE (now v6.3.2b2) (very fast, finger friendly and has the functions you would expect)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395829
http://burt.vndv.com/
UI - PointUI 1.51a - it is very fast & smoothly, finger friendly and has most of the functions you would expect!
http://www.pointui.com/
http://forums.pointui.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=613 (customizing & tweaks - forum & links)
- on the same day I have posted the the above, I found a newly available UI
Touchflo2d/manilla - it is very fast & smoothly, finger friendly and much more rich on functions than PointUI. Also more rom&ram demanding! Its in beta but everything works ok (depends on your rom)! Now this is my choice!
original thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425851
other:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
(works only with htc devices)
->and if you use manilla, then a S2U2 is a very handy application for locking the keyboard.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412418
All the applications are free (but you can, of course, donate .
Drawbacks:
Dialer
- only white schema, I prefer black because of the battery endrance
- not sure yet how to change the sound of keys to quiet ticks (the same sound you hear when you delete the whole number by holding the delete key)
Contacts - ??? not found any (yet
UI
PointUI
- it is not optimised for the kaiser, so you can't use for example the ok button to go back in menu.
- This is the most complex part and everyone expect different functions
- no real customization
Manilla - it is too early (still first beta) to judge
-I could not find any customizing tools...
-a bit too heavy (with all the applications)
If you know a solution for the Drawbacks or you have a different experience, please let me know.
I use ROMeOS 4.5.3
If you wanted to use the kaiser as an ordinary phone, why did you buy one? I can tell you don't even extend the functionality past texting and calling.
1) If you use the locking function, that wouldn't be an issue. (Slide 2 unlock is a great program for those who toss their expensive brick into their pocket).
2) AE button plus to launch the task manager of your choice. (You might want to set it to launch the task manager on hold so you can jog down to the item of choice and press it without launching task manager again).
3) There is a bunch of dialers in the development section of XDA-developers. A quick search will return probably the most popular. As for finger friendly, the default dialer is more than enough. But i do recommend you to check out other dialers.
Thanx for your reply.
I use the kaiser form many purposes - browsing web(which now with the last version of Opera is really nice to use), gps navigation, store notes, skype..
But I would expect that it should be at last as good as an ordinary phone to make calls.
I will try the AE buttons.
The keys: Firstly I thought the dialer is nice to use, but then I had an iPhone in my hand, and is more accurate when using the num-pad. But its only a sw issue...

Hi, the Minimal dialer is really very nice. Although it could have a bit more functions assigned to the hw keys, its the nicest touch keyboard I have seen on my phone
Thank you!

S2U took care of my pocket call issues. So even if it wakes the touch screen isnt gonna dial your contacts
I've done some searching but I'm really not sure what it's called, so all my results have come up with nothing.
I just want the volume control from wm6.1, where you press the volume icon and it brings up all the notifications such as the volume icon, Edge/3G, your phone signal, and battery. Usually it brings up 4 icons.
Most wm6.5 roms now have this new htc "notifications." The only problem with it is you can't adjust your volume anymore by pressing the volume icon, you need to map the volume to a different button.
I just installed m2d on mine, and can't adjust in call volume anymore. When I scroll the wheel during a call, it just adjusts system, and ring volume, never changing in call volume. It is so loud during the call I set the phone during a call and listen from 5 feet away. So I would be interested in this as well, it would be nice to go back to the stock volume control via a .cab file.
Think your asking for Large Title Bar..... I'm not sure you can have Large Title Bar with the new notifications?
Atached is VoluPOP it installs to Windows & Places a .lnk in Start Menu/Programs so you can map it if wish?

boss1234, in the latest PDAcorner (august 11th) the in call volume problem has been fixed. alternatively, you could do what mrdiavolo did to fix the problem and install Mega Canvas:
