Hi all,
I bought a T-mobile Vario III aka kaiser from Germany. I am facing few problems with it. I will be very happy if you guys could suggest me some solution. The problems are as follows:
1. Whenever I make or receive a call I am unable to click on the start icon for a few minutes. I am able to do it only after my phone returns from the sleep mode after I press the power button.
2. Whenever I play music through Windows media player, My backlight never turns off. It stays off only when I stop playing the music or video and close the media player.
3. Whenever I connect my Vario III to my PC via Activesync using bluetooth, the backlight will remain turned on forever. It turns off only when I disconnect my phone from the PC.
Please help me guys as a result of all these problems, my phone battery is eaten up. Are there any hotfixes or patches that I must install to solve these problems? T-mobile doesn't provide any updates at present. If I upgrade to WMP 6.1, will my problems be solved? Thanks a lot for this great forum. I really love it!!!!!

Apologies if these points have been raised before but ....
I have installed TomTom 6.032(8351) on my MDA Vario III and have found the following problems...
On start up, the sound is muted and requires two selections of sound on to activate it.
During a journey, an incoming call to bluetooth headset blanks the map screen, which returns at end of call.
On my MDA Compact III with an earlier version of TomTom, neither of these things happened.
Sound was on as default and maps stayed on with muted sound.
Can anyone advise a version of TomTom that works correctly on Vario III.
Is it TomTom, T-Mobile ROM or Windows Mobile 6 causing the problems....or something else?
Next time, please search the forum.
"you have to switch off the data connection before starting tomtom"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333680&highlight=tomtom+sound
Sorry about that and thanks.
Hardly a fix though as the data connection is often active.
Is this data connection affecting the map off during call as well?
As I said, it never happened on a slightly older version on my Compact III.
There is another simple workaround:
Roll the volume 'wheel' (in the left side), then the volume will be turned on.
Thanks gogol
There appaers to be a couple of threads from people not searching as well.
Still no answer to the map going off during a call.
Anyone?
Hi ericb,
Unfortunately, I cannot answer your question because I always turn off the data connection if I dont use it. I only use data connection for internet browsing.
I hope other user can answer.
Hi gogol
When using TomTom, I use Traffic which uses the Internet data link so it cannot be avoided.
Never mind, thanks for your help so far.
I can't be the only person with this issue.
Someone will help I am sure.
I have the same issue, but just rolling the wheel is not a hardship, TomTom will surely fix it in the next version....
Hi!
I'm having my BlueAngel (O2 XDA III) for about one month now. Generally I'm very content with it, but from the beginning on I'm facing the problem, that occasionally (several times a day, especially when using my BT-CarKit, but also when BT is switched on and inactive) BT switches off or perhaps even crashes.
After that I can switch it on again, using the Tray-Icon. But: Often the Bluetooth-Manager doesn't want to start during the first minutes after crashing (so I can start Bluetooth using the tray, but I can't configure it or create a new connection).
To fix the Problem I have already searched the Wiki and this forum - without success. I have also reinstalled the new Broadcom BT-Stack (1.0.0.3900) following the Tutorial in the Wiki - also without success.
Can anyone help me? It's really annoying, when I'm just holding a conversation via my Bury CC9060-Bluetooth-Car-Kit and then suddenly Bluetooth switches off, so that I have to pick up the BA to pursue the call, holding the telephone on my ear.
Greetings from Germany!
EDIT: I'm using WM2003SE as OS
I've found out s.th. else: A few minutes ago - my Bluetooth was running - I used another application on my PPC, when suddenly the PPC turned off. I switched it on again and had a look at the BT-Logo... and... of course, it was off! Very strange thing... BTW: I have already tried a hard reset.
No one got an idea?! Could it be possible, that I'm the only one who has ever had this problem?
hello, i have a similar problem and solved it deleting the overclock program from the ppc
What is the overclock-program and where can I find it? Thanks for your answer!

OP- Here are a couple of suggestions for you.
To resolve issue #1, try using a different media player.
To resolve issue #2, use USB rather than BT. Your phone will charge vis USB while it is syncing. Nice huh?

Ok I have a brand new kayser and I have 2 newbie questions about this model and one envolving all mobiles. Here we go:
1. I have the original vodafone ROM, when i play mp3's (wether on the MP ou Audio Manager) and press the power button (in order to turn off the screen) the music stop's, i mean, it doesnt keep playing... My older prophet and tytn I had this function of powering off the screen but the music would still play. Is this a ROM issue or hardware issue?
2. I've tried almost everything on the phone, except the GPS module, that I dont know if it works. Is there a program i can install just to pick up some satellites and see if it works? (i dont want tomtom and igo whatever because i dont have an sd card big enough for them )
Now the general porpuse one. My friend with an HTC Prophet had a problem with its phone, the vibration suddenly stoped working. We took it to the warranty and they repaired it. On the service point he was told that it had happened due to the vibrations the phone was put on, i mean, when hes driving he has that support on the windshield to put the PDA working as a GPS. It is true that it gets some vibration from driving and the car engine itself... but can this cause these king of problems?

1. try to use another player, there are a lot of them that are better then the default ones(wmp, audiomanager)
2. many apps like: gps test, gps tool, ....
3. I think there are thousands of people that are using their phones like your friend and they havent got problems with vibration. So for me its just a absurdity.

Which ones do you recommend? Does this happen with you? (the situation i mentioned?)
1. pressing the power button dont just blank the screen
it suspect the whole device to save power so yes it stops
programs
most players got options to blank screen when listning to music
some players does seem to be able to run while in suspend mode
just like the clock

I like Pocket music bundle, but its not a freeware. There is an option to play the music after hitting the power button.
I didnt realize that it stops playing music when u put the phone to sleep mode, so yes its happing to me also.
TCPMP or coreplayer. There's an option to map a button to turn screen off.
Two silly answers

Well my HTC branded TyTN II with original WM 6.0 ROM as per sig and with default settings keeps playing mp3s when the screen is blanked in this way so all I can suggest is it may be due to a configuration change made or the ROM itself. If you cant find any config changes, have a look at additional files put on your storage card by WMP in your music folder. When I was using WM 6.1 I found that version of WMP put a file associated with powersaving in there, not sure about the vodafone ROM though. WM 6.0 keeps it's own files in the right place and out of my music folder.

If you have data capability & don't mind paying for the data, Google Maps or MS Live Search are free. Personally I prefer Tomtom Navigator 6.032 (HTC version) but I found WM 6.0 and it's radios work far better than WM 6.1 for GPS and Tomtoms UK tech support line told me TTN 6 wasn't supported under WM 6.1, only WM 6.0! Don't know about the last issue and I suspect the best person to comment with knowledge about the cause of the problem and how to stop it recurring, would have been the tech staff who fixed it.
MMS are not coming until I won't wake up the phone. This is very annoying issue.Sometimes it wakes up but more often doesn't. I'm using original newest HTC rom 2.03. Any solution and opinion for that ??
This is a known issue which HTC fixed with a new ROM 3 days ago (16/01/2009) - for network-free/unlocked Diamonds at least:
Improved Functions and Fixes
1. When you launch the Camera while the system is working on other programs, the preview screen may become black.
2. When playing a video, sometimes a portion of the video will be cut off a little bit.
3. Fixes Audio playback problem with the speaker. Specific issues: sometimes the music will turn off and on after 10 minutes, or there is a buzzing sound or no sound at all.
4. Fixes the problem of not being able to receive MMS when in standby mode.
5. When launching music via the Music tab on TouchFLO 3D, the sound may intermittently turn off for a second and come back on.

If your Diamond is network locked the download will not work so you will have to wait for your network's updated ROM.
HTH.
I have diamond sim free unlocked I bought it directly from HTC Distributor in my country.I'm not able to download this rom. What version is it??? -can I take it from somewhere else? I have HARDSPL etc ?
MMS work with the new ROM.
But the MMS notification has no sound and no vibration, even if checked in the settings.
Did you also experience this ?

If you are talking about Polish distribution, seems there is no matching ROM yet. As I am interested in it too, I asked HTC support about date of release for my phone. They said they'll look into it.
I put hardSPL and upgraded to the newest 2.03 rom and MMS are working but I need s2u2 to lock my phone and with that it stops working.tried all possible s2u2 settings , exception, writing to A_C etc. and nothing. I don't wanna rotate my phone, shaking, light lock etc just wanna proper normal keylock like s2u2 does...
