Do we know any IM which works with TZone 5.99 plan.
I tried Skype and IM+ but none of them worked.
I am also not sure what are the setting needed for Skype.
Any one tried ebuddy? It's java based but I think it goes over SMS not the proxy.
Can anyone help for any IM which works for TZone 5.99 plan.
I use the hacked version of Aim 2.0. All you need to do is set the port to 110 in the program settings, and it should work, as long as your connected to EDGE.

lol i don't suppose there's a hack to enable full internet connectivity with the $5.99 plan is there? i hate paying $30 more for tmobile total internet when i'm already paying $100 for the family plan...
Ya there is. I don't know if there's a guide but it's been going on for a while now. Just change ur proxy to point at 216.155.165.50:8080 for the T-mobile data, under Https. It should work. Not sure if it's slower than the more expensive one, but I'm using it right now.
if any of you guys use IM+, you can use AIM using the 5.99 Plan. all you have to do is change the aim port to 110 in the IM+ settings.

hey, i did what you said and internet explorer now works fine, instant messenger programs works fine too and so does microsoft live search with traffic info! nice! but my pop3 mail doesnt work :*( and that's an important one... any idea how i can get my pop emails in messaging using the above connection? THANKS!
I don't think Pop3 will work with the 5.99 plan. Only http/https. If you want , you can use the blackberry plan for $20 by changing ur phone model on your t-mobile account page, then adding the blackberry internet plan.

On your phone, go to Messaging and select the email account you set up previously. Hit next until you get to "Server information" then click the options button. Make sure the proxy-enabled connection is selected in the drop box. All of my POP3 accounts work fine on the 5.99 plan.

lol your a ~!#$^&* genius! *HUGS* AND *KISSES* TO YOU !!!
your suggestion didnt EXACTLY work since there is no option for the steps you mentioned for windows mobile 6, you must be running wm5, but any how, in wm6 server options there is an option to choose what you want to use to connect, and mine was on THE INTERNET, i changed it to T-MOBILE DATA and now pop3 works fine!! WOOOT WOOT !!
THANKS GUYS!!
(now if only i can get my thunderhawk browser to work...., it's like the best freaking browser ever made for windows mobile, you can view full webpages in it's original format and look in 800x600 without needing to scroll constantly, and they also compress the site before sending it to your device which speeds loading of ALL webpages even when your on a crappy t-mobile 2.5g connection... once you tried it, you'll never go back)

nice suggestion, having the $20 blackberry plan would be EXACTLY the same as having the $30 total internet plan right? i wonder why they made the blackberry plans cheaper?
My proxy enabled 'wap' is not there in the list. Just 'work', 'The Internet' and 'T-Mobile MMS'

try, the internet, if that doesnt work, check your connection settings and see if there is a tmobile gprs connection there.
Only "Work" is working. I am not sure what is this "Work" but it connects the GPRS. So not sure if I will be getting any data charge, since I only have Tzones plan

you wont get any data charge if you are using tmobile, since they dont even have a 'charge by data usage' plan in the USA that i know of...
Nvgear, glad to be of help!
Pratikgr, the reason why "Work" connects to GPRS is because that's the only connections profile that takes proxy entries. By selecting "The Internet", all data gets routed through the "My ISP" profile (no proxy access).
TmobileWeb/Tzones is a flat charge for data. Although no apps other than the Web and email are supported, I also use it for streaming audio, Google Maps, automatic weather updates, etc.

There is a program called Palringo, you are able to add your Aim, Yahoo, Msn, GG, ICQ, XMPP .. services and yes it will connect througn the proxy, all you will have to do is edit the registry yourself or you can import the attached reg file which I exported from my device with the reg entries
Sorry forgot to attach the file, well here it is ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Sorry had to to remove the reg file, my password was also extracted with the settings .............. the steps to input the settings manually are on the next page
have BB Connect installed on my Kaiser. I am able to get emails successfully over Blackberry and gmail. However, I cannot use Internet explorer over MediaNet.
GoogleMaps, the weather plugin, QuickGPS, etc can all get the data they need when connected through MediaNET but IE will not load any webpages. Also, if I connect to a wireless lan, the same thing happens. IE can't browse, but other apps access data just fine.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? There are no options to config connections within IE and the connection within settings seems to be correct (how else would the other applications be able to use MediaNET?).
Are there some proxy settings I need to change or fix? I was able to browse the internet with IE via wireless lan or medianet perfectly fine before BB Connect was configured.
Note:
I can launch BIS for internet explorer and use the Blackberry connection instead of MediaNET. Obviously though this is not optimal as BIS has lmited sites, low res pictures, etc.
I've noticed the same behavior. It happened when I opened the "email settings" icon. This opens pocket IE with an extra menu item. Since then, wifi works for all programs, but pocket IE just gives me a blank page...
Did a hard reset, and never used the 'email settings' thing again. Everything is fine now...
I've noticed the same issue. I've set my connection to medianet using the proxy, noproxy isp.cingular.com and wap.cingular.com. All other programs are able to get to the internet (google, live search, BBC internet explorer, etc.) except for the standard IE. I don't browse too often, so I use the BBC browser when I need one.
thanks all ... i know now not to click the email settings button ... did a hard reset and all is well ... MediaNet full web browsing kills BIS
Internet Explorer inoperable
Help please! I am using the Kaiser and have the following issues.
1. There are 2 capital 'E's in the top. One that says Blackberry Edge and the smaller E says Tmobile Blackberry Edge when tapped
2. I can not simultaneously use the browser to access the internet at the same time that I am using the blackberry service to access emails. One of the 2 must be suspended.
In other words, I would have to literally suspend blackberry in settings to go surf the web.
Does anyone have this issue? Can anyone at all offer assistance to correct the settings so both can work together.
Any leads greatly appreciated!! Michael
i am having the same problem. did not find a solution. started using xpress mail
Hi,
I have the same problem with my HTC Kaiser and T-Mobile Germany.
The funny thing is that T-Mobile doesn't support Blackberry on this device.
I just installed the BBConnect_WM6_Professional_BB_41.0.0.84.cab and restarted the device and was happy that all works fine. I got all my mails from company BES server, includes the security features which lock the device every 15 minutes.
If this will work with Blackberry mail for home users, I don't know. I tested the BBConnect only to our company server.
I have the same problem like users here has in this threat:
I can't use the Internet Explorer to browse in the Internet. That problem still exist on WLAN and on GPRS. I turned off the phone part and try to use WLAN, but I have the same problem.
I guess that the Blackberry Connect will modify the Internet Explorer (like other parts of the device) to enable security features.
If I use the Blackberry Browser I got the message that the service is not supported. I know that some colleague had the same problem with their Blackberry (Hardware device) and called T-Mobile to enable the service.
I can user Google Maps, IMAP-Mail profile, Weather software and other stuff from the Internet without problems (WLAN and GPRS), only the Internet Explorer and Media Player has problems to connect.
To solve the problem I will talk to the BES Admin or / and T-Mobile. If this will not solve my problems, I will install Opera Browser, which will hopefully work.....
Here are my versions:
Rom: 1.56.111.4 - 09/01/07
Radio: 1.27.12.32
Protocol: 22.45.99.07H
Erik
You have to go to registry:
hkey_current_user->software->microsoft->windows->current version->internet settings
and delete enableautodetect entry
This solve the problem for me

You can modify the registry key 'EnableAutoDetect' key found in the registry location:
[hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\curre ntversion\internet settings']
The default setting (that uses the proxy) is:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000000
(To disable proxy) Change it to:
"EnableAutoDetect"=dword:00000001
The best option is to delete the registry key (which I did) since some posts indicate this registry option gets set to 0 after a reset.

Hi,
I changed the IE settings EnableAutoDetect from 0 to 1 and everything works fine.
I tested Opera Browser as well and it's fine, but I don't like the Bookmark synchonisation, this is better in IE....
Thanks a lot
Erik
Heya,
I have the same pb
BB push mail OK

I have been searching thru the forum and i can't find any specific information about it
i use windows live messenger, email , and browse with Opera...I do use live search and google map too and i am with the 19.99 total internet plan now..
Just want to see if it is possible to save the 13 bucks coz i don't need hotspot at all....
I have seen posts that about changing proxy and get the internet with PIE to work but it doesn't mention about other programs like tomtom google map live search and i don't want to change it to the T-zones without confirming this.
Could anyone help please?
i'm in the same boat as you, the 5.99 works on my dash, so i'm expecting it to work on the tilt, but i just cant get it to work...now when i open up PIE, it goes from connnecting, to loading to opening, and just stays there and then gives me error #502... so if you figure it out, def let me know, thanks
omar
Same here, I have posted a thread about it already but no replies, Here. Do let me know it thr is any, n i'll do the same.
I can confirm t-zone plan works fine with google map, push mail to exchange servers, browsing using IE, and regular smtp/pop email. The weather update progam on the today screen does not work. On the other hand, SBSH Pocket Weather does work (I let it update throughout the day). NTP time server service also does not work (using CityTime).
1. add new modem connection -- cellular line (gprs, 3g);
2. access point name -- wap.voicestream.com
3. leave password blank
4. proxy settings check "this network connects to internet";
5. check "use proxy server"
6. proxy server: 216.155.165.50
7. advanced: change http port from 80 to 8080
Under network management, set Internet Connection to the account just created above. Leave private network as "My Work Network".
Soft-reset.
If you have trouble with POP accounts, edit each POP account and change connection away from "My ISP" to the t-mobile account.
Cheers
Okay i have tested this setting for T zones and i am trying to add a few details on it.
1st. Windows Live and Windows Live Messenger does not work =/ I guess it is because it doesn't support proxy connection. I am wondering if anyone can somehow mod it or change the proxy settings of these two programs with registry or other means so i can actually use it?
2nd. PIE works right away with the setting, but Opera won't. Later i add the proxy server in the Opera setting then it works like a miracle too=)
3rd. Some other IM site such as communicationtube.net does support the login of msn using T zones...Kind of a substitute even tho the stock messenger works much better.
4th. for 13 bucks/month the only different is probably only on Windows Live and Windows Live messenger....or if someone can actually provide a mod version of these two programs or a tweak that changes their settings. T zones works perfect for kaiser...
I can confirm that GMM works with the method listed in the link below with the $5.99 T-Mobile Web plan and WM5. But "My Location" does not, may be my phone (Cingular 3125) http://www.ehow.com/how_2245457_tmobile-shadow-any-windows-mobile.html
Gmail just used "100% of your airtime". Can I make it only connect using wifi or direct active sync connect?
If it's a FAQ, point me at the thread and accept my apologies

Searh forum for NoGPRS.cab
Do a search for NoGPRS.cab or NoData it will allow you turn off your phones need to call out through GPRS or Media Net. It will then only use wifi to go out to internet.

What I really wanted was individual config, so that say
my blackberry app would always use wahtever was available hspda,3g,gprs,wifi,bt,active sync, but gmail could only use wifi or bt or activesync.
I was wondering along the lines of a proxy, use a differnt address for different typoe of connect
proxy1 - any service
proxy2 - restricted
proxy3 even more restricted
Proxy depending on connection??
Hi,
I would like to configure different proxy options depending on the connection, something like:
1. If cradled: use cradle internet connection, proxy 1 (namely the company proxy).
2. If wifi connection: no proxy (usually cofee shops with free wifi)
3. If no connection available, use GPRS (proxy 2, configured according to operator)
Is there any way to do this? It would be perfect for me!! And I'm sure more people must have this kind of needs.
Thanks a lot!
Ferran
I have a question regarding internet connections:
When I use WIFI connection, I can use all internet applications; Internet, Gmail, Daily Briefing, ....
When I use Mobile Data connection (GPRS), all Samsung applications says that there is a connection problem. For example; I cannot update the weather on Daily Briefing, etc.
However, all android application (like Internet, Gmail, FB) work without problems.
I thought that this is a problem with stock room, however, currently I am using JP3 and the problem is still here.
Any idea why is this happening?
Seems to me that your internet mobile provider is blocking some ports
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Is there generally anything I can do to open those ports?
nope, they are blacklisted by your mobile provider
check if your APN is set correctly
Home screen -> Menu-> Settings -> Wireless and network -> Mobile network -> Access Point Names
Maybe "internet" is missing?
@freshko:
If I followed Irt01's steps and I have:
Planet internet and a green radio button.
I only used "Samsung Apps" once and it didn't want to work over 3G, when I enabled WiFi it worked flawlessly. I don't use any other Samsung's apps because there are better alternatives on Android Market.
Hej Yanni.
I sent you a private message. Did you get it?
1. make sure you have a data plan.
2. make sure your APN is configured properly
3. check that you are able to browse the net
4. try to sync with your gmail account on GPRS/3G
if that works, you should be able to run other applications, unless those ports are black listed by your cell phone provider, like for example FTP, IRC, Skype, MSN and other stuff like that
Probably they are blocked because as I said. I can browse internet, checking gmail, however, I cannot update weather from Daily Briefing. My data connection notifications goes from H to 3G, than back to H, and then I get: data connection error.
