You can change all those URL's from the browser (Opera).
When you open the menu bar, there is a star.
Use the navigation wheel to navigate down/up to the desired URL link.
Then press the tool-icon (looks like a wrench and a screwdriver)
Then you can edit or delete the URL in question.
hi
thanks but im not talking about the bookmarks, im talking about the url that gets loaded when you touch the globe

I am using Wisbar Advance Desktop and I am making my own weather page. What I want to do is put a button at bottom of page that says "RADAR" and then when you click on the button I want it to automatically launch my browser and go to a website that I found where they have animated weather radars right on there homepage. I know how to make the buttons and all that stuff and how to link them up. I just don't know how to make a bookmark that will automatically launch when clicked on.
Also, is there a way to define which browser it uses. I have Opera 9.5 and Skyfire. In opera I have the box checked where it says use as default browser, so will it use Opera? I definitely don't want it to use dirty old PIE.
Thanks for any help you can give. I would really appreciate it.
HOnestly the best place to put this question would be in the Software section....also have you checked the Wisbar website.
I know when I used Wisbar before the forum section of their website was quite informative for these type of questions.
Hey guys,
This is my first post, which could be a disaster if this is all down to my stupidity, but I swear I've done a lot of searching and come up with nothing. That out of the way...
When I go to the TouchFLO internet page on my XDA Ignito the default site if you hit 'launch browser' is m.yahoo.com, is there any way to change this at all? I'd much prefer it to launch with about:blank for responsiveness, and so my GPRS doesn't auto-connect when I want to do something with Opera.
Thanks in advance for any help, I'm really glad there's a community like this for users of HTC devices. I've already used this forum as a lurker for a lot of information (including upgrading my old Hermes to Winmobile 6), you guys are superb.
Sincerely,
Ulfhedjinn.
Launch Opera.
Tap the Options icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (it's a black box with horizontal lines in it with a similar smaller white box partially in top of it) and this'll pop up a list of options.
Select the Settings option.
Tap the Start Page bar and it'll drop down various options to do with the default page.
Select the 'User-defined' option and enter about:blank in the text box.
I had a bit of trouble getting Opera to 'remember' my change when I was doing exactly that so if this doesn't take effect then do a soft reset (after making sure everything is still as you want it in Opera) to get the option to 'stick'.
Hello Medulla,
Thanks a lot for the advice, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I'd already tried setting the homepage in Opera to about:blank or Google UK, and got them to stick in the browser (which can be a pain at times as you mentioned), but the internet page in TouchFLO still says "Launch Browser" with "m.yahoo.com" under it.
I tried setting my homepage and then doing a soft reset, just to see if it would work, but unfortunately I still get m.yahoo.com as my homepage unless I manually start Opera from programs or by pressing "Browser" at the bottom of the internet menu instead of "Launch Browser" at the top.
I was wondering if the m.yahoo.com default was tied in to the registry or firmware.
Thanks again for the reply.
Using file manager..
Go to:
\Application Data\Manila\
rename the file InternetPortal-en-AU.xml to something else (or delete).
Alternatively, you could change the home URL inside that xml file, that should fix your problem. It's a read only file, you would need to use something like total-commander to modify the attribute. G luck ..
Hello techdave,
You, sir, are my bloody hero. Renaming that file worked a treat.
I can't thank you enough.
very useful tip. thx a lot
Yes, that was driving me crazy too! Thanks for this tip
My first post on the forum after using many of the excellent tips etc..
This is a great tip, its been bugging me since getting my diamond, I've managed to change the default page in the xml file to Google UK, also got rid of the MySpace and You Tube links by modifying the same file (using Total Commander).
I would also like to my put my own links and icons (similar to the MySpace and You Tube ones) on the main Opera Touch Flo screen, I've changed the link but have no idea how to change the image, the xml file refers to .qtc files for the images.
What are .qtc files and how can I create them to put my own icons in?
EDIT - found the answers after some deep searching
also used this tip to get rid of something which has been bugging me since I first got the phone, thanks
I'd been searching everywhere for this. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for posting the fix for this issue!
A few months ago my Tilt started showing a blank screen when I tried to navigate to a web page. If I soft-reset, it would work again for the first time only, and then the second time would show that blank screen again.
I can only assume that AT&T changed something back around that time, but I don't know what. It was veeeery annoying.
Hello Gents!
Is there a way of forcing the IE & Opera to Landscape? It does not work with the German stock HTC-Rom. Also Opera allows just 2 tabs, which is awfull. Is there a way of allowing more, like 3 or 4?
Thanks and greetings,
Studebaker
Hi Studebaker,
for the tabs within Opera Mobile, just enter Opera:config in the adress field. Then go to section User Prefs and search for Maximum Allowed Tabs, there you enter your desired number of tabs.
In order of forcing the screen to rotate, just search for "change screen xda" in google and download the screen rotation application.
Best Regards
Mathias
Thanks Mathias, that helps! I thought that I saw Opera switching to landscape with the T-Mobile-Rom, strange that this does not work with the original HTC-Rom. Greetings, Studebaker
I have the original German ROM and Opera rotates very well, but just in one direction. You have to tilt the device counter clockwise.
That's indeed strange, but thanks for the info. Did you manage to make that happen with the IE also? Is there an entry in the g-sensor whitelist required for the two browsers? Greetings, Studebaker

For the original Opera there already is an entry in the whitelist. For the PIE or the new Opera 9.7 Beta you have to add entries to the whitelist by your own. The easiest way to do this is to use G-Config:

And yes, it works fine with the PIE.
does anyone know how to get rid of the URL prediction that appears above the keyboard while using the browser in 2.2.1? this is extremely annoying and it also prevents you from seeing what you are typing in the URL box as it covers up half of the URL box to show you what the browser 'thinks' you are going to type in for an address. also does anyone know how to make browser 'auto select all' in the URL box in order to over write (type a new address) like you would do on your PC with a single click? the stock android rom did this just fine. im not sure why froyo does this in 2.2.1. when i click in the url box it deselects the address and moves cursor to the end of the url. so you have to backspace the entire URL before being able to type a new one in or u have to click hold and bring up a menu to manually select all. this is not smartphone browsing capabilities. i have never been able to figure out why when something works well. we have to change it so it doesnt work AT ALL.
i have attached a screen shot to show the URL prediction which is circled in red lines, this blocks half of the URL box - shown in picture. this shows up in all keyboards i have tried in 2.2.1 i find it redundant. how can i turn this off? is anyone else experiencing these issues??
any info on this?
thanks
gtown.
