xga out on ultimate 6150 can you help make it vga - Off-topic

hi
i have this ultimate 6150 (nvidia goforce 5500 chip) device and it has an xga out (digital output with resolution 1024x768). this xga out is controled by NYDITOT External display v6.0 program and it has lots of options. the problem is that the device is using D3DMXSc50PB.dll as a direct3d driver and it doesnot support this xga resolution and dont work i mean directdraw in core player or tcpmp player and gapi driver doesnot work on the external display. not to mention that opera browser is not workin nor any fullscreen 3d game. when i start quake 3 or doomgl they obviosly start cause i hear the sound of the menus and the game playing but it is not displayed on my xga display.
so what i am trying to achive and what i need help is to make the external resolution to be vga (640x480) as on the device screen.
in the attachment are some screenshots of the virtual display program.
and here are some registry settings that i think a conected to the problem.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NYDITOT\Virtual Display\i-mate\Ultimate]
"CyScreen"=dword:00000300
"CxScreen"=dword:00000400
"VRefresh"=dword:0000003c
"Bpp"=dword:00000010
"OutputType"=dword:00000800
changing the last values do not change anything cause when i start the aplication they come bach to default 1024x768 values
may be here is the answer but i cant make it right cause i dont know how to make it, i tried to copy the curent configuration and ovewrite the xgaout on configuration, but then it didnt start cause using the current configuration setting the xga out is off. so i nedd if someone can tell me how to edit these values to be with vga resolution when the xga out is on and it to use vga resolution. here are the values:

How to fix WMP fullscreen not landscape

This was probably posted before, but i'll just say it
Problem: when going to fullscreen with windows media player the movie stays portrait
Fix: Modify \\HLM\System\GDI\Rotation\LandscapeMode to 1 (some people said you should modify to 0 for other devices, but for me 1 is good)
GL&HF
but in kaiser default value is (1)
Then it must be something i've installed that changed that... weird...

Background Image Help

Hi,
I'm trying to put a background image of a car on my today screen.
When i put it on its far to close (pic to big). With my old M3100 you could chose how much and where abouts of the jpeg you wanted as background is there anyway to do this on the kaiser?
I've tried changing the resoultion then it works in wide screen but tiles it in normal mode which looks naff.
Any help would be appricaited.
Thanks
Jason
Go to Start | Programs | Pictures & Videos - then find your image you want to use as the background; select Menu | Set as Today Background and you'll get a window showing what part of the image will be used on the today screen - use your stylus to drag the rectangle left or right to suit and then just OK your way back out.....
HTH,
Mark.
Thanks, but even if i do that it still tiles or i can only see a small amount of the car.
I have tried numorous resoultions on the jpeg then put it on my phone but still no joy.
rangeing from 200x200 to 1024x768
Any one had this issue before and solved it?
Strange....it seems to work for me as long as the image is not stupid-sized (like 1600x1200 off my digital camera ).....
The screen resolution is 240x320 so that should be fine as an image; you may want a 320x320 image so that it works for landscape too, although I think you have to keep the part of the image you want to the left of the 320 pixel width....
Of course, you could always use something like ThemGenCE to make yourself a theme with the picture(s) you want - that should work....your call

Mark.

QVGA anti aliasing / filtering

I've noticed that many graphic and gaming applications that are designed to run in QVGA resolution are being run through a type of filter or anti aliasing, effectively "upscaling" the image. This does allow the graphics to look smoother compared to a native QVGA screen, but it seems to be at a cost of slower performance as compared to running the same games in native QVGA, slower CPU devices. I'm assuming if there is a way to disable the anti aliasing for the QVGA resolutions this would speed up the performance for these QVGA native apps/games as well. Is there a way to disable the QVGA anti aliasing / filtering?
Thanks
Ehm, practically, I dont think so. But I dont mean it as you do. Yes, you are right, upscaling image take some performance, but it almost nothing. Do not forgett, that graphic bench we all use is native QVGA (VS Bench), and even with upscalling it, Diamond has 2500 points, which is very nice. BUT, there is a problem with PDAMill games. For some reason, they are much laggy, no matter on Touch Flo status (on/off). My brother has Asus P535 (520MHZ Xscale CPU, QVGA), and I set his CPU down to 200 MHz, run Snails on it, and it was absolutelly smooth. Diamond with his 528MHz is very laggy on 528. So, I think that some games just dont like WM6.1 or VGA, or combo of these, or some improvements HTC did (like big softkeys menu). That is all.
If you want to compare this two devices in this way you must slow down the QVGA device to 132 Mhz. (VGA has 4 times the pixels of QVGA)
TDO
No, I dont have to. Only if I was talking just about drawing screen, but I was not. As I said before, in VS Bench, Diamond with VGA has 2500 point. Even with upscalling QVGA to VGA. It is not that simple as you think. BTW, I forgott to say that other games (like worms, z-raid) run perfectly.
Speaking of upscaling, is does anyone know of an application that will upscale a game made for qvga to vga resolution so that it isn't so darn small on a vga screen? Maybe an app to switch resolution on the video driver temporarily while you play the game?
Jason
That's exactly what I'm searching for as well. Something to enable fullscreen on QVGA games, as they only run in the top left corner of the screen right now.

Igo8 screen res seems wrong, changeable?

Hi gang,
Trying to run Igo8 on my Trinity3600 but aren't getting past the load screen when it asks for the language selection. The screen it's trying to display is about 4 times the trinity screen so the next button is way out of reach.
In the 'Sys' file the res is at :
x=800
y=480
Could I get it to fit by altering these values?
Advanced appologies for any level of stupidity anywhere in the above text!
Cheers
J
p.s this is on Win6.5 - just got it but cant see res options here either?
Woah! don't all rush at once!!
If anyone is interested, trial and error - mostly error found the answer.
In the sys.txt file mentioned, the x & y values need changing to 320, 240
respectively - then it'll fit nicely on the screen, landscape.
thanks again!
JT

Enable VGA recording on HTC Pure

In case you guys didnt know, the HTC Pure or Tilt2 cannot do VGA video rec. You can enable VGA video rec if you install a program called BSB tweaks (google it). Go into the program and turn on "Enable hidden rec format", BUT DO NOT TURN ON "Improve MPEG bitrate", if you do it'll mess up the video camera and you'll have to hardreset. After the soft reset you can remove BSB tweaks if you want.
After that go into the camera settings and change the recording format to 3GPP2. Then you can change the resolution to VGA. To test if it really works, record 10 sec of footage with MPEG CIF resolution, then record 10 sec of 3GPP2 VGA resolution and you'll find that the VGA video is the larger file. I know it isnt true VGA video recording but its better than CIF.
Some video rec tips: Reduce camera brightness and change metering mode to average to increase framerate, reduce contract to see darker areas better.
BsbTweaks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305
Well the problem with mine is that the captured video looks so bad with 3GPP2 VGA that I would rather stick with QVGA... Unless I am doing something wrong.
If it looks bad then you probably turned on "Improve MPEG bitrate" in BsbTweaks. Once you had done that, you cannot reverse the process by turning it back off. The 3GPP VGA video will look worse than QVGA. You will have to hardreset, install Bsbtweaks, and ONLY turn on option "Hidden Video Rec". After the softreset, test it out and you will see the improvement.
Actually you don't need to install or remove any programs, just set the following registry value
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P2:EncodeFormat
to
2147483647

Click to collapse
Does it do more than 15fps with that method??
Because with my method Iam only getting 9-10 fps.
Nevermind, that Reg edit does the same thing.
