hi all
i m having a problem with my BA that most of the time when i on it by pressing power button it restarts. in wm6 it behave as the battery is removed cause there is no radio on four color screen. and in wm3 and wm5 it restarts. and the strange is that it works flawlessly once it get on after restart until it get suspend.
i hv tried all the roms with and without applications.
Sorry for my bad english.
i got same issue , everything just fine but the day has come , pressing power button then devide reset , it's work like reset button . using wm6 . i think it's a hardware failure ?
problem solve , disassembly the BA , clean , remove all dust , using some alcohol to clean power button , reset button , and all switch you can see , let it dry and it's solved

Looks like a software or a regedit is keeping it from doing so. Try resetting the device and see what happens.

I did a soft reset - nothing
I did a HARD RESET- nothing
I changed the rom - nothing , it still wakes up
This has nothing to do with ROM Dev. Moved to General
I don't have a clue what it is
Ok i have had this problem before. But it is when i put the phone in universal car cradle. It hits the camera button half way so when i put it to sleep, it wakes back up after about 3 seconds. Make sure none of the buttons are partially stuck.
Frank
yes , now it has no autofocus

UPDATE !!!!!
are you running igo8 in the background? Turning the phone off while running an *ahem* type of Igo8 may cause certain on/off issues...
I'm not running anything
Sorry bout the late reply. I work during the day so i didnt see this till now.
What i would suggest is turn on the camera and goto the settings. Make sure it asks for full press. Then attempt to take a picture, by half pressing the camera button, as this will make it auto focus. If the little broken square in middle of screen doesnt show, then it has something to do with your problem.
My problem wasnt an actual problem but rather an observation that i thought could help.
Ive just done a couple tests on my phone and the camera button is the only thing that causes this issue. I hold it half way as to not activate the camera and then turn the phone off to sleep, but after precisely 3 seconds, it wakes back up
Hope this helps you find it. As for solving it, i don't know. Possibly a few harder presses of the camera button???? Please, though, dont take what i am saying as Gospel as it may be something totally unrelated
Frank
i tried the thing with the setting for the full and half press and nothing , it was the same - the camera shoots ONLY WITH A FULL PRESS !
The good news is I took it for a repair
Hope u get it back soon with minimal repairs needed
Frank
more bad news - it turnd out that the camera button is realy stuck on auto focus but the realy bad thing is I CAN'T FIND A SPEAR CAMERA BUTTON
help me pleaseeee !!!!
I have this exact problem...press power button--3 seconds later phone back on again. Have flashed 6 different ROM's and it has not removed this issue. It is not any of my software because this remains before I add any of my software after a flash.....as per OP i am unable to do a hard reset.
I have done many searches on the forums and continually come up with the 10 second backlight fix....this is not the same issue.
If some of the senior members could please help I would greatly appreciate it.

It's not listed on their site, but it might be worth contacting these people.
I can't controle screen buttons, for ex when I press 3 it show 1,and the same problem for all functions, when I press yes it does no
I flashed it with an officiel ROM but it didn't resolve the problem!!
A basically rule of thumb regardless of whether the Rom is Official or Cooked is to do a Hard Reset immediately after install.
Did u do this?
Try re-aligning your screen
Thank you for replyes,I will try
I did hard reset but no result !
its a hardware problem with the screen, take it in for repairs or replacement
mine did that and a few others on this site too.. its not a software issue at all..

I have the same problem!
Did you find anything?
Its alredy in the shop to be repaired . i think its the only way
Ok!
If you want, let me know what is the problem and how much cost the repair!
If you haven't tried doing a HARD RESET, you might have luck with that...
Hard reset - Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN and ENTER buttons, and then press the RESET button with the stylus tip.
I also have this problem... none of the resets works. So... I guess it is bricked... :'( I had my whole life on that thing....
1.) I changed new rom
2.)It freezes when i was using youtube panel
3.)I turned off and when i turn on again wont load
4.) I tried hard reset , taking out the battery and memory card still wont load
5.) couldn't connect to pc
anyone know how to fix ?
well i had the same issue few moments ago. but now i get rid of it by using a very easy method.
- While the phone is off -hold down the front left and right buttons on the X1 and insert your stylus into the soft reset hole all at the same time.
- After i did this i was presented with a blue screen that told me to press R to reset and delete all my existing stuff. Then i had to callibrate the stylus and the same stuff the day you got it.
I tried that way too, after it said restart i pressed spacebar to restart and its still stuck at loading screen...
you press R... not space

R to hard reset, SPACE to restart.
If the phone has finished its hard reset (it's telling you to press SPACE) and you can't just remove the battery and turn the phone on. Maybe your keyboard is dirty and it's not reading the SPA.CEBAR presses
OT: hey poetry, where'd you been? did you sell your X1?
Sorry for my bad english , but it did restarted after pressing the spacebar but it still freezes for some reason and ive done like 5`6 hard reseting it ;/

yes I sold my X1. I wanted to try out the Nokia E90, and my X1 was in such a bad shape that I had to sell it before it lost value.
i know this is old post, but i have that problem now, any solution.
i changed my rom 20x till now but now stack on XPERIA logo, soft reset hard reset not working, any help....
solved. entered boot loader, three color screen, run task 29 utility 8-12 times, every time connected disconnected usb cable, removed inserted battery and then suddenly update progres was shown on phone. huh. flashing my X1 was easy till today. Good luck to all...
hi guyz
ive a AT&T Tilt (Kaiser 100). so ive flashed my kaiser loads of times no problem was running great until now when i unlocked it the PPT button and call program open up themselves and some ramdon keys such as E,D,C,etc are pressed!!
also the slide keypad stops responding but the lights are still on for it. the navigational buttons on screen side stop working and the start menu opens up by pressing the button in the middle of navigational buttons!! rest of the keys dont work. power and camera keys still work!
i gave my phone a rest for 4 hours and when i turned it on it started working fine and then again after 5 minutes of use same problem. sometimes in the middle of use it automatically starts working again fine and then same problem comes and this keeps going on!!!
one of my workers at the office mishandled my phone (i think) he couldn't figure out how to slide open the phone and tried everything
so i cant rule out if its hardware or software problem???
please help!!
Hard reset your device and see if that solves the problem.

Because sometimes...well most of the times, with a help thread request like yours are solved with a hard reset . Going by the book...(oohh and it was late last night by the way )
On another note, seems like your friend did mess some of your keys and probably hardware issue. Try and mess with some keys and see if they are not stuck.
In most situations it quicker and easier to reset the phone. Just thnk about it, you don't have the original OS to repair with and you don't really have a method of sending commands to the phone.
