Hi Folks,
I have written a J2ME MIDlet code to download audio files from remote website and play on the phone. I am able to play .wav files on AT&T Tilt phone, but I am not able to play .mp3 files. The same code for mp3 works on many other phones including Nokia, Samsung, etc. I have tried 1.1 & 2.0 MMAPI version of MIDP.
More information: I am able to play mp3 files via Windows Media Player on the phone.
I would appreciate if you can provide any tuning/configuration I need to performa on the phone.
Thanks,
JJJ

I'm afraid you won't be able to do this; as has been explained in the MIDlet Bible ( http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The (Java) MIDlet Bible ), even Jbed is far inferior to Nokia's MIDlet Manager.
hi everyone,
I have a problem with iplayer. I changed the user agent in opera beta and when I click the link to watch, the window media pops up and say cannot open the file?
thanks
Opera Mobile can't play Flash streaming. You can try Skyfire. But otherwise there isn't anyway of watch BBC iPlayer on Pocket PC yet. At least not until Adobe has released a new version of FlashPlayer for Windows Mobile.
Grab the Kinoma play player - it can play the bbc streams (from it's media guide)
-mark
Go to http://get.skyfire.com/
It plays Iplayer through the website - www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer
It also plays flash games.
I have it working with Opera, but the video streaming is handled by the HTC Streaming Media application (in my case I have version 2.20).
When you select a programme to watch it seems to load a .3pg file so I would have thought having Flash ruing would not be a requirement.
@ butpatbut: The problem is that Opera associates the sdp video wrapper with windows media player. The solution is to edit the opera.ini file in \Application Data\Opera 9.5 beta (or whatever Opera version you have)
Change the [File Types] section to point to the HTC streaming player instead of Windows Media Player. See below:
[File Types]
application/sdp=3,\Program Files\StreamingPlayer.exe,,,sdp,|
application/mheg=3,\Program Files\wmplayer.exe,,,mheg,|
application/rstl=3,\Program Files\wmplayer.exe,,,rstl,|
video/x-ms-asf=3,\Program Files\wmplayer.exe,,,asf,asx,|

Initially when i clicked a you tube video within IE or Opera 9.5 the video used to open in a seprate player that came pre-installed with WM6.1 if i am correct i think it was HTC's own but i may be wrong. Anyway since i installed real player clicking a link in IE dose nothing and in Opera real player opens and throws up some unable to connect error.
Why has what appears to be the default program for playing you tube clips be replaced with real player
Uninstalling real player makes no difference either.
any help really appreciated
Cheers
Andy
I have been looking in the registry and have no idea what I am looking for, and don't want to make it any worse than it already is
guess I am just going to have to flash the rom again and do without realplayer
You could use a program like SkTools to edit file type associations. I think Dinarsoft's MemMaid also allows you to customize file type associations.
Also why don't you install the Youtube Player app? Makes watching youtube videos much easier then browsing for them in Pocket IE or another browser and having them load up in a video streaming app. Its all done within the app so you dont have to worry about realplayer or another app hijacking your file associations.
Ahhh thanks very much, i was not aware such a program existed
appreciate the reply mate
How do I enable java script to watch movie online in Tab ?
Is there an app that allows you to convert a link of a TV show or whatever into playable mode to zoom? I know this can easily be done with YouTube but I want to capture a long video straight from my xoom..
you could check if dolphin browser hd has a plugin for it but I doubt it.
I suppose......you could run a vnc client like logmein and use a firefox plugin like downloadhelper[what I use] via firefox on your pc and then send it to yourself via dropbox but thats a hell of a lot of work! X)
