IRC Channel - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I know i haven't checked the forum as of yet, and don't flame me if there's already information for it (just delete the topic), but is there an IRC chan specific for Diamond users anywhere? I've looked around but not really found any!
Thanks

Moderators: can we make the Kaiser Wiki a sticky?

Does it make sense to do this? I think it would really help, but I was wondering why it hasn't been done already. It seems a lot of people here don't even know it exists, lol. Maybe we can make this thread the sticky! Should probably include a message like "Please read before posting."
Kaiser Wiki
EDIT: a Wiki sticky! ha, hey that rhymes! alright, I'm a dork. I know.
Maybe because there is already a link at the top of the page for the Wiki.
That's true, but:
There's a lot of people who browse this site with a narrow field of vision
Many of these people end up asking questions for which answers already exist online
That link does not stand out to the typical new user, it gets lost in the sea of links at the top of the page
The link itself only goes to the general Wiki page, not directly to the Kaiser's
The aforementioned users, I believe, may typically brush off that page as "too confusing" or "useless" since it doesn't take them directly to information about their phone
I think a sticky may help reduce the number of repeated posts, since it would place the Wiki in their field of vision. I don't know, maybe I think too lowly of these users? I just think that with all the top notch work that's gone into the Kaiser Wiki, it's a shame that resource isn't exploited or advertised more than it is now.
But maybe I'm still missing something?
People don't read the stickies either. Some people just don't care and don't read anything. They just post their question without doing any reading or searching, even for the simple questions that have been asked over and over. Yes, it's frustrating. You can't help people like that.
EDIT: Besides, there is already a sticky thread for SEARCHING this site (including the Wiki), and yet, people fly right past that without reading.
done (edited the Google post)
Thank you!
I wanted to add a link to the wiki to my signature but wasn't sure how to get the get a different title for the link. I dug around a bit on the forum help but didn't see how to embed a link in your sig. If someone posts the method, I encourage others to add it to their sig as well. Communication is often more effective when it is delivered more then once, and from more than one source. Plus, I don't think new members (or at least most of them) mean to ask repeated questions but are in general are not yet familiar with forum etiquette.
I think that's a great idea. Although, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question. Are you looking to change this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
to this:
Kaiser Wiki
?

Hi, when you add a link to kaiser wiki in your signature you will get this:
[ URL="http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser"]http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser
just change to
[ URL="http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser"]Kaiser Wiki
Is this what you asked for? (Result see in my signature)
Seasons greatings,
Hans Olo
Maybe we should encourage more users to put a link to the Wiki in their signatures!

Freewarepocketpc.org NEW SITE!!

So,
My new site:
http://freewarepocketpc.org
I don't have all of the programs on there but I have a lot of useful programs and you can use. I know there are a lot of other sites out there but these are my suggestions and things I know work on the AT&T Tilt.
Hope I don't get banned since I've contributed and asked questions.
My site is http://freewarepocketpc.org/
I like the idea of having a site to collect all the various useful bits and bobs on, but you really need to be crediting sources for your posts.
For example: in the KaiserTweak post you don't link back to XDA-Dev's thread, you don't credit the author, and the download link is on your own site. Bad form.
RSS Support ???
Is there RSS Support for you blogs ???
I would love to have it in Google Reader.
By the way nice collection ...

Looks like a good resource. Thanks!
Looks nice, another site I'll have to check everyday now, thanks.

Not to mention illegal
I'm afraid that starting threads to promote your own site or even other sites of this type is not on!.
If someone asks a question, by all means suggest a site or even refer them to your own site but we are not here to be promoters of members sites. So the way you let folk know about your site is by being helpful to others , answering questions and OK from time to time giving a link to something on your site
I also take note of the poster above who feels you might give more credit to the developers and in particular this site.
There is also the fact that until this point the OP has only 4 posts. That brings this thread precariously close to SPAM.
So far the OP has the balance wrong here. It should be lots of help and support to other members and perhaps the ocassional mention of his site. NOT 4 posts and a thread started with the sole purpose of promoting his site.
This is not open season on starting threads to take people away from here rather than supporting THIS site by putting up the collected links and tips in our own Wiki site. If we already have the information in the Wiki (as I notice lots of the registry tweaks are) then there is no need to refer people elsewhere.)
I am inclined to close this thread, what do the members think?
Mike
I'm with you Mike.

[IRC Help Channel] Themers Discussion Channel

Hi,
I have created an IRC Channel available on freenode. The aim of the channel, is to gather members, to help one another with any themeing issues that they have. Hopefully the channel kicks off, and can be a hub for themeing help.
The channel name is #xda-themers and can be found here http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=xda-themers
Good.
