Search must be broken? GCzII
OK wise guy...
Yes search works...
Yes I already have GCzII...
Yes I would like to know if someone has a different app they use...
No I did not want to volunteer that name because I did want to see if a different name came up.
So anyone, use anything besides GCzII?
Like maybe GeoScout?
I prefer freeware, but am willing to buy an app that ROCKs.
I use GeoScout and am quite pleased with it.
Yes, the price tag is a bit high, but it has some good features like being able to download cache info from geocaching.com, and downloads maps for use away from wi-fi/data connection.
One feature that it needs is the ability to input coordinates manually. Currently, you can only go to caches that you have downloaded. That makes it kinda tough when you do a multi-cache and need to input a new set of coordinates.
I still bring along the eTrex yellow, just in case.
Give GeoScout a try during the trial period and see if you like it.
BTW, my geocaching name is fractal, and I cache in the Portland, OR area.

I had been using Beeline, and liked it a lot, until I came across geoscout2. The direct access to geocaching.com and maps choices were the major selling points for the switch.
Hello,
I'm currently a college student and was looking around for some heavy-duty calculator applications for the G1 and stumbled on this. It seems not to have been updated in about 9 months, but the application itself seems very interesting and exceptionally useful. I was wondering if someone would be interested in picking up where they left off? Or atleast compiling an .apk for it?
Same here, maybe something similar to a TI 83 and up?
I would be very interested to see this developed more.

Yeah, THIS is the most powerfull software calculator i've ever seen.
And it's free. A little bit unusual to learn, but you have graphical output on screen
and everything you can think about.
Just type what you want and he does it for you.
It's very fast.

Please note that I just compiled it... I don't even know how it works.
RZR
PG Calculator
I would like to recommend PG Calculator. It comes in free different versions: Free, Standard and Pro. Pro version can work with complex numbers.
The app has nice interface which can be changed using different skins. It can work in both Algebraic and RPN (Reverse Polish Notation) modes. Algebraic mode allows to process the mathematical expressions. Calculator has a library of common mathematical and physical constants and allows for user-defined variables.
Pro version has the Time Value of Money solver and also the IP Subnet calculator.
Evening,
I can't seem to find the fancy NOTES app in the marketplace, where is it?
Thanks
It is in the marketplace. When you say fancy, what you meant by fancy? Anyway the marketplace has this note app where you can input the nots u want, then paste it onto the board. Over time (as time goes by), the note you had made will age and slowly rot depending on the timeframe you put for the notes.

Marketplace > HTC Apps
Or at least it should be, looks like they've pulled it for some reason.
Anyone know anything about this program? I looks pretty cool. Maybe you can take a web page and chop it up into a widget. That would be my hopes for it....
http://www.appsgeyser.com/
Wow, zero replies. Guess its not a very good post.
Looks to simple
Ill give it a try and see how it goes.
So far the web Grabber is not working
"Unable to clip content"
Still trying More.
Looks like an easy way for someone to rip off someone else's hard work. Honestly, they even tell you to just copy the code for a widget into it and create an app from it. No mention of intellectual property anywhere.
Yeh pretty much.
Good for people that want website code as an app.
But to be honest its pretty crap...all it does is load a Frame with the webcontent in it.
Here is one i "made" for weather in Perth WA.

It also doesnt make widgets.....it lies..

Wow, that is some brilliant programming you did there, LOL!
Seriously, you are right. For that use it is almost decent (although their ad banner is a bit large). I just created a couple to check my area traffic cams with, much easier than opening the browser and going to the sites.
Could be fun to mess with.
it would actually be cool if it did what it said it does...
ie make Widgets...
But it doesnt..
Yah, i finally got a chance to try it out. Im sure there are some people who might like it. Its not what i had in mind though. I really need something that will display web content via a widget. Not an app, thats for sure.
I agree that it doesn't do as advertised, but it can really be handy. Just created an "app" for my favorite streaming radio station. Another for Hulu. It works really well!

Great Radon,
Im glad you found a use for it. Im sure i can figure something out for it. What I really want is a widget for Yahoo Sports. It would be nice to have the scores and news all on one widget.
Hi guys,
My name is Andrew, I'm CMO at AppsGeyser.
roguey, I really can't find where you saw that we talked about making widgets for mobile? Please point me.
we convert web widgets to apps, but we don't make mobile widgets. We do not offer anything that we are not really able to do, that's no any sense to start business on lie.
Our platform is not for someone who can use Eclipse and make an app for Android. We help those who have a website and barely or strong enough know HTML. You can quickly build an app. Some users use our platform to build proof of concept. Some just wrap up website and have great results, we constantly publish case studies on our blog.
nunjabusiness, we care about IP and sure we have a mention in our terms that users have to have all required copyright on all content they submit. If we have abuse from legal content owner we are shutting down the app.

You are correct, it was the OP that said it, and i assumed it was what it said on the website.
That is my fault. I take it back.
Anyway you can make it do widgets?
That would make it 500 times better!!.

Hi Andrew, welcome.
Yes, I did eventually read the T&C and see that you covered that. That is good. Problem I had is that IE9 really doesn't like your site and until I used Firefox I wasn't even able to get started in the creation process to see the T&C. Maybe put a small disclaimer on the main page?
Roguey, sorry but it is a WAY different process to widgetize an app. What they are offering is the opposite, which I honestly can't see any real value in at this point. I (and thousands of other people) would also like this ability and if it were easy, there would already be a way to do it. My understanding is that it is almost as difficult as writing the whole app from scratch.
I do, however, like the ability to turn a website into an "app" even though I could not get the engine to clip anything of value. I was limited to whole sites only for some reason. I am sure it is website-specific and the way the page is set up may keep them from properly capturing the part of the page I want.
It doesnt matter if its a different process.
Its possible, they just need the time do it...
Hi roquey,
Thanks for this brilliant idea, we'll definitely consider it.
What content you wanted to see as a widget?

I would like the abilty to make my own widget to show weather, ie capture a frame from a weather site. Have the option to Have the widget refresh from the net every 15 minutes - hourly, depending on what you want.
Its pretty endless really, Basiclly what your app does now but show it in widget form.
Prob keep the widget size to 4*2 in size, or if u can let the user choose, depending on the size of the frame that is needed to be captured.
There are already more than enough weather widgets, IMHO.
However, a resizable widget that will display (and auto-update) a definable segment of a web page is absolutely something I would pay money for.
Web Clip Widget Trial claims to do this, but I cannot get it to actually display any pages for me yet.
Andrew - It seems to me (a non-programmer) that embedding a webview with the webkit browser engine should be pretty easily doable. The key I think is to be able to snip a section of the page to display with no extraneous graphical elements.
I found this example code http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android/android-sdk-embed-a-webview-with-the-webkit-engine/ in fact, I found a ton of tutorials to show how a developer would do this ... but no actual downloadable widget to accomplish it.
From what I can gather, you usually call webview with a specific url to display something in the app so I guess the hardest part would be making an interface to pass that info to the widget and then refresh on interval.
+1 for web clipping widget.....that works.
nunjabusiness
And it matters that there are lots of Weather widgets because???
That would be what i would use it for...i know tons of websites that **** all over fancy widget and the like.
It wouldnt be just weather widgets aswelll...
Do you think it is possible to get the apk for the dabbler app? I have the regular old Tegra Note, and I would like to see if it would work on there.

It's really just a customized Autodesk Sketchbook that's modified to work with the K1 more efficiently.
I don't think it would help to pull it. If you really want though, I can send it your way to see if it works for you.

Me too, and I am asking is there a way to make this compatible with a Samsung note 2014?
Or , just in case one can recommend a good handpainting program to use with the stylus?
Thanks in advance:highfive:

GIve the Corel Painter app a try. They have nice physical media effects.
Dabbler probably isn't going to be compatible with the Tegra Note or Samsung Note, since it is either reliant on the K1 SoC, or has software checks that prevent it from running on other SoCs.
I have clover paint https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fareast.CloverPaint&hl=en
It's so good that I asked the dev if the $20 tablet UI add-on would work with the tegra note, they said no, I got it anyway, and it works. I was only gonna get it to give the dev more money but not only does it work it's the best UI ever. The painting itself (if you read up on it you can see the praise but in short) is the bomb. I got the directstylus pro pack and am completely skipping over this gen of tablets I'm just sticking with my tegra note and clover paint and my next tablet purchase will actually be based on what the clover paint developers use I guess either when my note dies or when I want a bigger screen. I originally was 100% intent on gaming for android which is why I ended up with the tegra note, boy am I glad it had another use.
If you do use clover paint you gotta go into the stylus settings and at the bottom do the automatic pressure detection, just press down as light and as hard as you plan on, basically drag it around and practice your strokes until it's done. The one problem with it right now is it's the most advanced program ever made but there's no documentation, so for example I have the pro stylus so that's two tips, then I have a third stylus which is one of them round wire tips and each time I switch I do the auto pressure, but maybe one day there'll be stylus profiles it's really, really confusing, I think it's the language barrier, but holy moly macaroni if you like to art you better try it and you better actually get to know it before deciding you don't like it a good example is to take the oil brush and see how it mixes colors and smudges it and then you can cusotmize brushes to no end with stuff like smudging and mixing and outlining and I don't know if you're trying it yet but if you're not why aren't you go sjust go forget this post and just go

I'm pretty sure that Nvidia created Dabbler to only be used with the K1 processor. It was a way for them to show off how powerful it really is in a fun, neat way.
Pretty sure I heard that in a demo somewhere.
I don't know if there's any way to run dabbler in other devices but I randomly realized that the handwriting recognition app Shield has installed by default is an actual app that can be downloaded from the playstore. I had asked a friend if she knew a good handwriting recognition app before I got my Shield and by the time she sent me the link to the app I had already gotten my Shield so I saw right away it's the exact same thing! It's called MyScript and it's in beta. Here's the link if anyone wants to try it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visionobjects.stylusmobile.v3_2_store
I saw you uploaded the recognition app too and thought maybe this could help.
