Anyone know anything about this program? I looks pretty cool. Maybe you can take a web page and chop it up into a widget. That would be my hopes for it....

Wow, zero replies. Guess its not a very good post.
Looks to simple
Ill give it a try and see how it goes.
So far the web Grabber is not working
"Unable to clip content"
Still trying More.
Looks like an easy way for someone to rip off someone else's hard work. Honestly, they even tell you to just copy the code for a widget into it and create an app from it. No mention of intellectual property anywhere.
Yeh pretty much.
Good for people that want website code as an app.
But to be honest its pretty crap...all it does is load a Frame with the webcontent in it.
Here is one i "made" for weather in Perth WA.

It also doesnt make widgets.....it lies..

Wow, that is some brilliant programming you did there, LOL!
Seriously, you are right. For that use it is almost decent (although their ad banner is a bit large). I just created a couple to check my area traffic cams with, much easier than opening the browser and going to the sites.
Could be fun to mess with.
it would actually be cool if it did what it said it does...
ie make Widgets...
But it doesnt..
Yah, i finally got a chance to try it out. Im sure there are some people who might like it. Its not what i had in mind though. I really need something that will display web content via a widget. Not an app, thats for sure.
I agree that it doesn't do as advertised, but it can really be handy. Just created an "app" for my favorite streaming radio station. Another for Hulu. It works really well!

Great Radon,
Im glad you found a use for it. Im sure i can figure something out for it. What I really want is a widget for Yahoo Sports. It would be nice to have the scores and news all on one widget.
Hi guys,
My name is Andrew, I'm CMO at AppsGeyser.
roguey, I really can't find where you saw that we talked about making widgets for mobile? Please point me.
we convert web widgets to apps, but we don't make mobile widgets. We do not offer anything that we are not really able to do, that's no any sense to start business on lie.
Our platform is not for someone who can use Eclipse and make an app for Android. We help those who have a website and barely or strong enough know HTML. You can quickly build an app. Some users use our platform to build proof of concept. Some just wrap up website and have great results, we constantly publish case studies on our blog.
nunjabusiness, we care about IP and sure we have a mention in our terms that users have to have all required copyright on all content they submit. If we have abuse from legal content owner we are shutting down the app.

You are correct, it was the OP that said it, and i assumed it was what it said on the website.
That is my fault. I take it back.
Anyway you can make it do widgets?
That would make it 500 times better!!.

Hi Andrew, welcome.
Yes, I did eventually read the T&C and see that you covered that. That is good. Problem I had is that IE9 really doesn't like your site and until I used Firefox I wasn't even able to get started in the creation process to see the T&C. Maybe put a small disclaimer on the main page?
Roguey, sorry but it is a WAY different process to widgetize an app. What they are offering is the opposite, which I honestly can't see any real value in at this point. I (and thousands of other people) would also like this ability and if it were easy, there would already be a way to do it. My understanding is that it is almost as difficult as writing the whole app from scratch.
I do, however, like the ability to turn a website into an "app" even though I could not get the engine to clip anything of value. I was limited to whole sites only for some reason. I am sure it is website-specific and the way the page is set up may keep them from properly capturing the part of the page I want.
It doesnt matter if its a different process.
Its possible, they just need the time do it...
Hi roquey,
Thanks for this brilliant idea, we'll definitely consider it.
What content you wanted to see as a widget?

I would like the abilty to make my own widget to show weather, ie capture a frame from a weather site. Have the option to Have the widget refresh from the net every 15 minutes - hourly, depending on what you want.
Its pretty endless really, Basiclly what your app does now but show it in widget form.
Prob keep the widget size to 4*2 in size, or if u can let the user choose, depending on the size of the frame that is needed to be captured.
There are already more than enough weather widgets, IMHO.
However, a resizable widget that will display (and auto-update) a definable segment of a web page is absolutely something I would pay money for.
Web Clip Widget Trial claims to do this, but I cannot get it to actually display any pages for me yet.
Andrew - It seems to me (a non-programmer) that embedding a webview with the webkit browser engine should be pretty easily doable. The key I think is to be able to snip a section of the page to display with no extraneous graphical elements.
I found this example code http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/android/android-sdk-embed-a-webview-with-the-webkit-engine/ in fact, I found a ton of tutorials to show how a developer would do this ... but no actual downloadable widget to accomplish it.
From what I can gather, you usually call webview with a specific url to display something in the app so I guess the hardest part would be making an interface to pass that info to the widget and then refresh on interval.
+1 for web clipping widget.....that works.
nunjabusiness
And it matters that there are lots of Weather widgets because???
That would be what i would use it for...i know tons of websites that **** all over fancy widget and the like.
It wouldnt be just weather widgets aswelll...

What I'm about to say is going to stir up a bit of controversy, but Android lacks any sort of good music app. Someone should try to replicate the iPhones Music player UI as best as possible.
man i tried so many times but no developers wanna go that route of duplicating..
so i tried something way different then hero..g1...iphone..
i havent seen one like this..
even if i can trade services/applications (mobile or computer) or something to get atleast a music app for me created lol.. that would be sweet!!!

Then may I suggest that you have bigger buttons. Remember most android phones are 3.2" screens. Simple, discreet, seperate buttons on the bottom.

Well i dont own a G1 anymore..i now have a cliq
On my old G1 i never got to use earphones because it didnt support the 3.5mm....on the cliq it does! I love it buttt one huge thing is the quality of the sound. I have Bose earphones...they sound really great on my iPod and other MP3's but not on the cliq. The EQ is really nasty..so aanyways my questions are
Is this only on the cliq?
Is it possible to change the EQ at all?
Can someone please make an APP with this feature?
If this CANT be done, then why not?
Hope someone replies
thank you and long live ANDROID!
While your proposed layout looks great, that text is so small that there is not even any point of putting the info on there.
Basically you can get 8 lines of usable text with enough buffer around the words to act as buttons.
In your track list pic you are running 14 lines.
That's like a 10 point font change. And I think the phone's default is like 8 point font.
A lot of the functions you are showing are similar to Tunewiki.
And Tune wiki comes with last.fm built in. Has a built in widget. Not to mention the ability to interface with Flyscreen.
What would your player bring to the table that is new or different other than the basic look?

the buttons are actually big size of a 2x2 2x3 widget... they can very!
and as far as the text its just an idea not really much one needed just a feature of marquee type scrollin...

Off topic slightly, but yes there is an equaliser it is VERY VERY good and really works.
I have some great headphones but always thought the sound from my Hero was lacking in treble.
You can even change the volume level for each channel separately.
Anyway screen shots attached, but wait for it....... it's £18!!!
it should be a good app comin.. cant wait!!
I was curious and thought this would be kind of a neat app. Is there an app that I can use to turn my GTab into an external/second monitor for my laptop? If so is it Linux compatible or just Windows? Is it USB or WIFI?
I've been trying to find something like this also.
You could try a remote access app. There are a few to choose from in the market. There are also a few threads here about some of the different options.
Looks like the iPad has one ... wonder if they will work on an Android version:

Surprised their devs are so naive as to say they couldn't see the market for and android version. Guess they don't actually watch or read the news much.

Lol. I'll second that. Aren't we the "hackers" always looking to do something cool with our open source gadgets? They are as naive as it gets.
I was just thinking of something like this aswell. Is it possible to re-engineer the hdmi-out to take hdmi-in? I'd love to plug my cable box into my tab while i play xbox on the TV (or vice versa) I know there has been no positive progress on hdmi-in with HTC's mini-HDMI implementation. Maybe viewsonic (being a monitor company) has a better possibility? Any dev's feel like taking a crack at it?
iDisplay is available in the android market. works just like the iOS version.
Anyone tried iDisplay on the gtab?
I thought I'd buy it but there are only two bad reviews on their webpage and eleswhere I've read that they do no give refunds. There is no trial version on their site, but their terms of service says that customers are expected to run trial versions before they buy . . .
I sent them a kind message asking them if they truly expect anyone to give them money for basically nothing. But I tried to be nice, and to encourage them to post a trial so I could buy and give them a positive review. Five bucks ain't much, but darned if I'll give it away to shmucks . . .
Anyway, if the app works well, they deserve our support.
My gtab is running vegan5 and I use the HP mini wireless keyboard with both of the office suites available. The gtab is taking place of my laptop and doing a great job of it. To be able to also use it to augment the laptop by giving me more screen real estate would be icing on the cake.
Thanks for posting this thread. I never would have thought if it.

I gave it a try and am happy to let you know it is working well. It is a bit laggy and slowed down my computer a bit but does work for an extra screen.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll purchase the app. I loaded the XP application and it appears that a virtual server is created which could be the reason for the slowdown.
It would be nice if some of these application developers provided just a wee bit of info that could be used to determine if an app is appropriate or not. I think that the apple market has set a kind of precedent for wishy-washy frivolity that is going to carry over into the android market unless google demands a higher degree of responsibility. The time is now, before the market matures as android tabs and notebooks take over most of our computing tasks, as I think they will.
The apps written for the old Palm devices were held to a much higher standard than a lot of iPhone apps I've seen. But then the Palm devices were oriented towards business productivity and not so much as toy/entertainment oriented as iPhones and iPads. I spent part of the day with my hands on the Xoom tab, and talking to several Motorola reps and Verizon sales people. I must have sounded like an evangalist for the android OS.
If google is listening I'd like to tell them to take their work seriously right now because they could be taking over the entire personal computing market in the near future. Computing, regardless of platform, is not all about entertainment. We in engineering and science have needs that also require more versatile hardware and software. The tegra3 is just around the corner . . . then what? How will all those extra processing cores be made truly useful? I want an android powered tricorder.
My evangelical proclivities are simply gushing forth . . . (in all the wrong places)
Thanks again to the OP for initiating this thread.
I tried iDisplay today. I like it! It is a bit laggy, but works great other than that!
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBD-H8Bhehc
I take a lot of pics, and videos. I've got a 2 yr old and another child on the way, so my snap shots and videos are going to increase. I like to share this media with family across the country. But I dislike using two or more apps to do it.
I don't like the stock Android ICS gallery and although I do like the older 3D gallery, I dislike the lack of any real options. ie I want to be able to specify which folders it looks at.
Picasa is a great "picture sharing" platform but doesn't have the ability to upload/share video (as far as I could tell), nor is there a stand alone app for it....you need the stock gallery to view your photos.
QuickPic is pretty sweet, but lacks the ability to syn with Picasa. And, also is doesn't have its own upload ability. You need to upload to Picasa, Photobucket or the likes.
Photobucket has pretty great upload / sharing abilities but doesn't really function as a gallery.
Sooooooo considering how great the camera function is becoming in our phones, can't we just have one darn app to handle all of this?? Maybe I'm missing out on something, but I think we're still coming up short in this department.
That's kinda of alot to ask for, but we never know what the future holds.

Easy answer? Unfortunately... It's no.
Aloha,
I forgot you couldn't do this. I forgot because I loaded up the homepage I wanted and pinned it to the homescreen and removed IE.
Do you think that will help?
That sounds easy enough. This is a much different, albeit smoother beast than Android. I have been an avid Android user for going on three years now. I got the opportunity the other day to get an HTC 8X on VZW for 100 bucks, so I scooped it up. I really like the platform, it is a refreshing change from the same old with Android. I still have a Note 2, but I really like WP8. I must have spent 20 minutes looking for a way to change the homepage though.
It seems like there are a lot of basic, common sense things that are missing from WP8; setting the home page is a big one. I also wish there was tabbed browsing, but I'm sure that horse has been beaten dead at this point. I'm also perplexed by the lack of super popular apps. For instance, I can't find a Pulse News App on WP8. That app is HUGE on Android and iOS, yet it is nowhere to be found in the store, Oh well, I think I'll take your advice and pin the homepage I want to the home screen.
I don't remember we have a default homepage on IE Mobile, lol.
about:blank is all we have.
It didn't bother me tho.
You should check out uc browser for tabs.

you should lick on tabs to see tabs - that enables you to tab in internet explorer.
Try fuse or weaver as a pulse alternative. Not as good but gets the job done.
It seems like alot of One users out there are not that keen on blinkeed, and would prefer to disable it, and for some if given the choice would rather have it removed it altogether. I have to say i like the look of blinkfeed, even though i do not own the One at present.
Is there anyone who actually likes blinkfeed, and finds it to be a useful feature??
Reason i have started this thread that there seems to be quite alot of negativity surrounding blinkfeed.
Would be very interested to hear what you guys think.
I plan on having blinkfeed as my central home screen, with regular android widget screens to the left or right.
When I need some quick info, I can either look @ the lock screen or blinkfeed, when I want to check my calendar or emails, or w.e. quickly I can just scroll left or right.
So - ye I am excited to try it out. If I end up being disappointed, then so be it. But I don't think I will be.
I like it, it's just a news aggregator for content your interested in.
Why would you not like it? It's brought up loads of articles I would of otherwise not of seen, I wish you could integrate things like BBC News etc for the UK but for the moment it's very good.
I don't get why loads of people are moaning, if you don't like it set a different screen as your 'home' but I happen to think it's a very useful function and find myself checking it quite a lot throughout the day to see 'whats new'.

I dont mind it but it doesn't update facebook or twitter properly. The apps will give me status that people have posted that the blinkfeed doesnt till later on. Thats annoying.

You will have to scroll right, because the Blinkfeed screen can't be moved. It is the first screen and that's it, any other screens you have come after it.
Definitely needs more feeds from BBC News / Sport etc. And you'd think it could tell the difference between football (soccer) and football (American)...

i always had both a 4x4 friend stream widget and a 4x4 reader widget on my phone, so im really looking forward to using blinkfeed.
it definitely needs more options from what I've heard though, cant believe bbc isnt in it!
I think that as soon as more feeds and options become available to view, it will be more popular. At the moment though its just a drain on the battery imo xD
Have to say I love blink feed so much that I have hardly used Flipboard since Friday.....it's a brilliant feature and as long as you set it up properly can be invaluable like today, didn't know Gears of War reviews were out till I saw that in the feed......normally I would have to get that info from a deeper source/app......I find it a brilliant and genuine innovative tool......
AW: Who actually likes blinkfeed?
I like it
Gesendet von meinem HTC One mit Tapatalk 2
Apple iOS reserves a whole home page just for a search bar and I see no one complaining or even talking about it but when HTC does something better with the same home page people start moaning about it. You don't have to use it and if you even don't want to see it, it's Android, just install different launcher. OMG people are just so weird.
I like it a lot. In fact it's one of the features I like the most.
I don't get why there's so much dislike on it, I think it looks great. I use Reader a lot (probably the most) and would love a fancy, good-looking way to get my feeds.
I agree though that the user should have the option to disable it. Don't like when things are forced upon.
Yeah I'm in the same boat as almost everybody else on this thread. I like BlinkFeed and I've stopped using other similar services (i.e. Flipboard, Pulse, ...) almost completely.
People don't like change I guess. It's amazing how they form an opinion before even spending 2 seconds with the product. If it were up to consumers, we'd still be using rotary phones...
I'm looking forward to it. I just hope it's customizable enough and has enough sources I'm interested in. They say they'll be opening it up to a lot more content so that sounds like I won't be disappointed.
I dont even use it lol.
I like it, i use it as my main screen.
I don't dislike it, but i don't really use it, i would like to get used to it, but i would like it as the middle screen of my homescreens, so until that is changed/fixed i will continue with Nova Launcher for now.
I just set the second 'home' screen to become my default home screen so whenever I start to use it more all I have to do is sweep to the left.
