Do you mean your play-list has english & chinese songs, but Diamond fail to read the chinese song title?
If that was the case, just install one of the software (CE-Star) from your touch diamond bundled CD.
Install these files in the listed order!! and install to device memory
1. http://rapidshare.com/files/135293786/uhei00m-gray.cab.html
2. http://andrewloh.com/HTC/Diamond/Base/imeonly.CAB
(when popup shows, Select "YES" and then "NO"
3. http://andrewloh.com/HTC/Diamond/Base/usemynls.CAB
Soft reset your device and goto 'Start> Settings> System> Regional Settings>' Change to either chinese you require and chinese text should show up in TFLO.
Two possibilities:
1) You have some files with English filenames, and others with Chinese filenames, and the player does not see any of the latter. You need to install Chinese character support (CE-Star, etc).
2) Your player sees/plays all files, but only displays English titles (ID3 info) correctly, while Chinese ID3 tags look garbled/random letters. The ID3 tags are improperly encoded (ie: UTF-8 in ID3V2.3 or earlier, etc). Use Tag&Rename (or other ID3V2.4/UTF-8 capable tagging program) to retag your mp3s. You will still need Chinese character support (CE-Star, etc for the fonts).
For reference, I installed Japanese character support and am able to to see/play mp3s with Japanese ID3 tags (TF3d player displays Japanese characters properly). I am still using English TF3d UI (MUI 409) and did not need to change to MUI 411 (Japanese).

thought that I could help but I have only Diamond now and obviously here's Touch Diamond thread.
if it still dont work then its the mp3'd ID Tag that needs fixing and not the software.
Download something like "Tag Scanner" free from downloads.com and remove or edit the tag for the mp3's.
All my chinese mp3s play and display the name fine so cant see too much of the issue being software wise.

I have decided to wipe the phone and start again, flash with Dutty's Rom and try your files.
Does the Taiwan chinese put the date in chinese, if so, what else does it shoe in chinese which normally would be in english?
well,
date is in chinese, and googlemaps is all i have noticed so far.
Some apps eg. AEButton will display in Chinese but will also have options to revert back into English or other supported languages.

cool thanks.
Also how are you adding mp3s to your phone, windows media player or active sync?
im just draggin them into the Music folder manually. I never liked to sync anything from the iPod days as i find it making something so simple so complicated. I edit my mp3's manually also via Tag Scanner as mentioned previously.
I have flash with new rom and install the cabs you said, but now i cant put playlist on. any ideas?

How in the heck do i change my default player from WM player to HTC player when using MSVC???
I changed in with the advanced config, checked it in Kaiser Tweaks, but no dice yet. Help a bro out guys
BTW, I'm no noob guys i have been viewing this site for a very long time, ever since the xda2s came out overseas...LOL i just dont post much since i can comprehend most of the stuff here without asking questions... brother just tired after flashing and downloading all day!!!..LOL
I don't quite get your question.
If you use the Kaiser Advanced Configuration app (by Schaap, IRC), or Kaisertweak, you should be able to set it as default from one or the other, or both.
But what does MSVC have to do with this?
first things first do you have htc audio player install in your phone? if not, that may be the problem lol. attached is the player just in case. unzip it and copy the entire folder to your phone. no need to do install. you can just run the exe file and it's good.
i too am confuse with what "MSVC" is.

with msvc (microsoft voice command) you can say "play *artist/album*"
and it will open up windows media player and play it.
I don't think its possible to open up another player to play it. But check the definitive guide for msvc and try to ask there! Good luck
Yep, the function most likely makes use of media player's media library, so IMO would work only with it.
Although this has been commented on in several threads already, I haven't seen a dedicated thread on the problem so here goes.
With all the media players I have tried so far (HTC’s, TCPMP, Windows Media Player and PocketPlayer), there is a noticeable pop or skip in the music every few minutes.
I have tried several things to try and fix it but to no avail. What's worse is that I now know this happens every five minutes EXACTLY. I end up looking at my watch just to confirm it's the problem every time I hear any glitch!
Things I have tried to cure the problem (all tests performed after a soft reset):
- In PocketPlayer (my player of choice) I have tried virtually every permutation for the buffer and decoder priority settings
- I have stopped all non-essential services and killed almost all the processes I can
- I have disabled TouchFlo 3D with no Today plug-ins running
- Tested in ‘Airplane Mode’
- Ensured no application is set to get updates from the internet automatically such as Weather and RSS feeds
This is really frustrating for me as I opted for the HTC Touch Diamond as an all-in-one device only to discover that MP3 playback is unusable.
NOTE: I am using an adaptor for wired head phones or a connection to my car’s head unit. I do not have Bluetooth headphones for testing. I am using RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_1.93.405.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship with minimal tweaks applied (mainly cosmetic ones).
If you have similar problems or any suggestions, please let me know!
Been there.. done that. Exactly 5mins it is.
The new OS build (20273) makes the pauses less. The older Build used to be worse! Still waiting for HTC to fix.

Actually Step 3 & 4 can be skip, the main reason to let those not sure or confuse how to manage the folders within the "InternalStorage"
Important is creating "folder.jpg" in our Touch Diamond. (Recognised by TD)
Some music files especially mp3 with built-in Album Arts also give problem.
All the above, based on my few tests & tries . . . .

The music files on my Diamond was transfered to the device together with a folder.jpg for each album. So that can't be the cause. I don't know if my files have build-in album arts, but I doubt that they all have it. So since all the albums on my device have this problem, I doubt that build-in album art has anything to do with this either. Of course I could be wrong...
Did you have this problem before you did this your new way?

Yes. TD will automatically generate "folder.jpg" that's why I do 1 step ahead to create 1.
I delete all my mp3 files from TD InternalStorage(I got backup in my PC) . . . then I create lots of FOLDERS with each Singer names. Copy all my mp3 files to individually to each different Singer FOLDER, create each FOLDER with their individual Singer's image and renamed with "folder.jpg" and place within the FOLDER.
After that rename the "AudioManager_Eng.vol" to "AudioManager_Eng.vol.vol" (because can/t delete), do a soft reset.
Everything go fine.View attachment 106724

Thanks for the tips. I wasn't really considering going the custom ROM route just yet but it looks like I need to bite the bullet if it is the only solution to the sound pop/glitch issue. I noticed in the change log that there is mention of a sound fix for Audio Manager ('No more pausing bugs'), I take it this will also apply to other media players? As I only want to use PocketPlayer which, ironically, seems to exhibit this the problem the most, can someone confirm if they have an issue with this player using the SwiftBL 5.6 ROM?
I thing that nothing will happen while somebody report to HTC and do big bubble like with graphic drivers for Kaiser...
I have tried to install the program, but when I run it, an error occurred.
Maybe some one in this X1 forum can fix it?

In Call Recording has always been a mythical beast on HTC devices, briefly glimpsed but never captured.
It seems now things are set to change. While the original beta ROM’s of the HTC Touch HD shipped with In Call Recording enabled, the software was stripped from shipping devices in the west, likely for legal reasons.
Fortunately the device did ship in China and Taiwan with the software included, and the cab file to enable it is now available for download on XDA-Developers. The cab is however in Chinese, but a .mui file is also available (to be copied into your \windows directory) to translate the interface to English.
To record a conversation one simply need to start recording from the in call phone menu. The phone call is recorded in low quality highly compressed .amr format, stored in \my documents\my recordings and can be easily transferred to the desktop for archiving.
In addition HTC provided a nice user interface to access your phone calls on the device itself, almost reminiscent of Apple’s visual voice mail.
Listen to an example recording here. (Can be opened in Quicktime)
Read more about the software here.

Interestingly, i just downloaded the CAB file, installed it, then tried to unzip the MUI files and place them in the /Windows directory, but the MUI files were already there!
I do not know if someone added the correct MUI files to the .cab file already, or if the X1 already has them there beforehand, but I did not need to extract/add the additional MUI files on my X1.

I installed your cab and it records calls fine. I can find the recordings with File Explorer. But when I try to run the "InCall Recorder" under the Programs then it gives me an error:

Any ideas, what to check?
How is it installed?

in theory rather easy,
1. install the blackstone dialer (http://norti.hu/xperia/touch_hd_dialer.zip)
2. install ICR
3. rename \windows\ICR.exe.0409.mui to ICR.exe.####.mui whereas #### is your language code (if your ROM is an english one you don't need to rename the file as 0409 is english)
Dutch 0413
French 040c
German 0407
Italian 0410
4. softreset
5. in the dialer during a call you can click menu->"start recording"
that's all
in practice for me when i click start recording nothing happens.
any ideas? (i'am using the uk R2A ROM)

Have you tried to take a look at the ICR program?
It should be placed in your start menu.
Well, I have tried this thing and still I can record my own voice only.
As this is working for Diamond, whose ICR function was unavaialble prior to HD's addon - I am just wondering if X1 could add the ICR function just like Diamond....
(Let's hope this is not a Hardware limitation...)
I'm a bit confused, so by using this software, can we record voice from both sides?
It'd be a breakthrough to wm phones if both sides can be recorded.
Thanks.
Have tried everything, nothing seems to work
I have tried everything to make my X1 Xperia record incoming calls. Can't install ICR software, etc -see just some instructions string on the screen and nothing else-. Can someone please attach the right file(s) and clearly explain how to install the software -either English or Spanish-. Tried Audio Vitonotes but incoming audio is almost inaudible-.
Just a comment, if recording phone calls in the US is illegal... come on, there are other hundreds countries where it is not.. that means BILLIONS people..
Regards
Patricio Alonso

I'm uisng VITO Audio Notes Touch and it can autorecord all calls. If it is not on speaker, the voice of the person you're talking to is recorded at a lower volume, but at a satisfying quality.
But it is not integrated in the dialer, you have to set it on autorecord.
One thing to notice is that many of Taiwanese on another forum reported that can simply use *any* of the software to record voices from both party.
It is found out that the jelly case (silicon case) is helping them to deliver the voice from the earpiece to the microphone and hence being able to record to both parties. Well it is not software/hardware issue of X1...then.
darthmelk are you using one or you are using any other special techniques?
Thanks

Hi!
I've installed ICR and Touch HD dialer, looks like everything is OK, but voice of caller is still very quiet.
BTW during my experiments I have found one interesting thing. Even with handsfree attached to the phone, ICR still record caller's voice. In this case acoustic way of recording is impossible, so it means that ICR record caller's voice through the hardware inside the phone. But I don't understand why voice in this case is very quiet
And one more thought. AEGphone is able to record caller's voice from line on my Xperia. Quality is not good but it is another problem. It is fact that caller's voice is loud and it is recorded from line. Only some type of intermittence is present. There are links to 2 .dll files:

WAV1: \windows\wavedev.dll (654584)
WAV8: \windows\bta2dp.dll (51392)

you would need to say what rom you are using?, what format the tones you are using are in ?, what exactly are you trying to put in the windows folder?
have you tried any other apps to achieve this.. which app were you using to do it before? what did you remove?
i use ringo (comercial software) but there are freeware options out there with a bit of searching... i seem to remember seeing a mortscript that was set up to do this somewhere on xda. which users seemed to report worked quite well.

All mp3's need to be associated with Media Player or else they will not play as ringtones. Perhaps you have installed another music player which has changed the file associations. You need to change it back to WM Player. Let us know if this is your problem.

Is the ringtone over 500KB? When I still used AT&T stock ROMs, I learned that files over 500KB would not work as ringtones unless I installed this fix. Hope that helps,

This "hack" would be great if only it didn't overlap with the alarm setting below the minutes (see overlapping below the 10 of the 15:10 reading of the clock):
It also changed the string "Camera" to "IDS_CAMERA" (lower right corner)

Install and/or use Advanced Config, then Menu -->More Settings --> TouchFLO3D (ignore error) --> Home page date format (choose one from 13 available !) --> tap Change --> Voila!
If you have overlap problems with alarm just choose a shorter date format or install Klaxon2 alarm clock,it will overwrite the standard windows reminder. In my case everything fits, see my home screen :
EDIT:
Same discussion here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=530636
Would be interesting to know if it's possible to disable "No Alarms.." text (don't know the exact message in WWE roms) in order to have very long date format even when Alarm is off

Yes, possible.
Cool, how?
Edit it out of file 7e640092_manila ... while you're at it - can you send me a copy of that file? Thanks!

Here you go...I quickly tried to look in it with Manila Editor v.0.2 but didn't see anything...what do you use to edit? If it's not too demanding, can you edit for me please? Just remove the "no alarms..." text and I'll test it. Thanks
Good morning Guys! Thanks for all the helpful hints!
@ Sualc: Advanced Config did the trick!!! I did not use it since it will produce a lot of error messages and I did not believe that application is really suitable for the T2. But the weekday works like a charm. Does anybody now what to choose in the performance section of Advance Config? I suppose the values for the T1 might not match, right?
Have a great weekend guys!

Hi Studebaker72, in my experience the error message we are talking about is THE ONLY error (and it's only a message) I get when using AdvancedConfig, maybe it will be solved with the next release of the app...I made various tests by changing the Performance Parameters, but I ended up keeping the Advised values (still better than Default), because for higher values I got scrambled landscape screens (with wm6.5, not with 6.1). My advice is to try by yourself, you don't risk anything. To have noticeable improvements you should use also HD Tweak (d'oh!another non specific app, but it works),go to point 14 (touchFLO3D) and set Sensitivity to Intermediate and Pression to Normal (default). Again, do your own tests, these are values that suit me, but maybe not you

Try this updated version with abbreviation of weekday.
Works with german Topaz and MDA V, don't know about other languages.

Ahm, does this nice German application also exist without abbreviation? So it does show i.e. "Dienstag, 19.05.2009" instead of "Di, 19.05.09"?
Thanks guys, Studebaker
yes, it does, I'll attach it to my blog - check in a few
