I've got an original Vodafone Touch Diamond which I unlocked using Olinex, this results in the following:
- Rom version: 1.37.172.3 NLD
- Radio: 1.20.Olinex
- Protocol: 52.26a.25.09H
I downloaded "RUU_Diamond_HTC_NLD_1.93.404.1_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship" and tried to install but this results in an error:
1) RUU resets phone (stll looking good)
2) screen changes to gray, progressbar is shown "...... 0%"
3) now the progressbar stays at 0%, also on my pc (WinXP_Pro)
4) After some minutes I get an error, restarting the phone gives me the 'old' settings again, phone still working
What am I doing wrong?

Don't Panic, Mr Mainwaring!
You're in bootloader mode... this is the state the BA goes into when a ROM element is being updated, you should be able to run the update again without any issues, a soft reset should go back to your previous ROM (depending at what stage it crashed!)
make sure your not using a usb Hub, the cradle must be directly into your PC.
then just run the update again.
I've got a 3600i running Olipro 3.2 (special 3600i), my device boots ok without any issues (currently have Karmba v10.2 3600i ROM), however i've noticed a few hard resets, so trying to load the HTC shipping ROM again.
I've tried to go through the normal install process, just clicking the exe file, the installer asks all of the right questions & then my device comes up in bootloader mode, however nothing else happens & the installer comes back with a 260 error (yes my device was fully synced with activesync prior to flash attempt).
I've also tried manually entering bootloader mode (camer+power+soft-reset) & running the windows installer, however still can't get it to flash a new ROM.
Just for giggles, I also tried what i "think" is the SD card method, formatted my 2Gb card with FAT32, didn't add a label & copied the rom file (nbh) & renamed to TRINIMG.nbh. I then booted the device into bootloader, nothing.....
Perhaps someone can help me, i'm trying hard to answer this on my own, however have run out of ideas.
Many thanks.
PS - I've flashed this device 5 times previously without issues, hence hope it's not a case of user error.
Possibly Fixed - Tried re-installing Olipro SPL
Thought i'd try re-installing Olipro SPL 3.2 (http://www.mediafire.com/?yxz2pu1oytg), this seems to have fixed my issue, now installing ROM (81% completed).

extra how to: how to restore Stock SPL for warranty reasons.
step by step:
- this is ONLY for warranty reasons. i.e. the device needs repair and you have to send it to htc to get it serviced. if you plan to restore hardspl then don't even bother flashing this stock package, unless you are some kind of hacker/dev
- IMPORTANT: be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
- now the steps
1. download the stock spl package from this post.
2. download X1_HardSPL_v1 too, from this post.
3. run the hardspl package, but do not press Next button i.e do not go ahead with flash yet.
4. at this point, take the extracted stock SPL, a RUU_Signed.NBH file, and overwrite the other RUU_Signed.NBH in hardspl package.
5. go on with the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to tricolour screen with 0.52.OliNex version), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+1. to verify, enter bootloader (see description above in this post), and check version number on tricolour screen. it should say 0.72.0000.

Thank you for all your help
well after not sleeping all night yesterday now it's working
i don't even know how it began again to work
i did a flash of a stock rom it stopped at 10% then a hard reset (didnt work initially) then flashed again hardspl and it could do the hardreset.
im si happy it's working again
i don't count that much on se warranty
thanks again
Sometimes the problem is in the incompatibility of Hard SPL with your ROM. Same happened to me with Diamond. Only flash another rom and problem solved

If you can find the dowloaded .nbh file on your machine, you can copy it to your microSD card, rename it to Kovsimg.nbh and flash from bootloader that way.
However I couldn't find where the SEUS was saving the file.
Well my problem was very strange because i could flash the firmware through microsd or RUU successfully but it didnt boot. It just showed the logo for some seconds and rebooted again. I also tried many commands with mtty like task 28, task 2a (which make it just appear a white screen and nothing else). anyway the only thing to make it work was to hard reset and then flash the hardspl again...
after flashing the hardspl the hardreset began normally.
Does anyone know how to do the hardspls - Yes it should go to tricolour screen now and say 0.52.OliNex.MFG (this is SSPL!).
but then the error message is coming and no
"Hard-SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done"
Hi, getting following prob at update process. The status bar didn´t increase and stays at 0% but recover works going back to the original hd rom (1.14.24011).
Downloading 1.14Olex HSPL and going into Bootloader Modus (Vol down+Power; SPL-1.14.0000 USB ) and run HardSPLWrapper_Blackstone.exe going through the menus and always stays at 0% nothing happened
Downloading 2.9XT dutty´s rom and going into Bootloader Modus and run BlackstoneRUUWrapper.exe. But the same problem happens again.
Now, how can i update the rom version?
BTH: i copied the nbh file to the storage card and tried to run it during bootloader loading w/o any fix.
Thanks in advance for help.

I have been reading through this forum and ppcgeeks but I suspect I am doing something wrong.
My HTC Touch Viva is stuck in bootloader mode.
ONBL 1.26.0000
SPL 1.26.0000
Here are the things I tried:
1. Downloaded HardSPL, I get the 1% straight to 100% error 270 update error. I am figuring that I cannot install this when in bootloader mode.
2. I get the hardspl .nbh file and rename it to OPALIMG.nbh and put it on the SD card formatted in FAT32 and get Invalid Certificate error.
3. I tried downloading the stock rom, and windows 6.5 rom and I get the same error 270.
I tried these same things on my wife's htc touch viva and I managed to update the SPL and WM fine but I am in Windows Mobile and activesynced vs stuck in bootloader mode.
What am I doing wrong?

Turn off your Device's Security, so your warning won't come up and disrubt the process.
How do I turn off the security? I cannot get into the phone.
Actually I tried to drain the battery, hard reset, RUU attempts and once the phone actually started to boot (I do not know why) but this is what it did:
It showed a screen with two tabs at the top - System and Ring. It kept making a funny chime and highlighted the tabs back and forth while a bar was moving across the screen near the bottom (like an installer bar). Then it rebooted and stuck again and I have not been able to get it back to at least attempting to boot windows.
Any idea?
