Printing - Mogul, XV6800 Accessories

Hi,
May sound like a silly question, is there a way to print an email to a network printer from the Titan?
ED

two commercial solutions
ActivePrint is one solution. But you must have ActiveSync installed and you can't print from the Web. For these reasons, I bought JetCet Print 5.1. I can't print from Opera but I can print from Internet Explorer.

How to use hotmail.com or msn.com adresses

Hi guys
me again
Could someone please explain me how to set up a hotmail account on pocketpc to download the emails?
Get Pocket MSN.
It's finally released, has a one-time fee of $19.99 and integrates MSN Mobile, MSN Messenger, Hotmail. The payment also enables your MSN/Hotmail account to send and receive Hotmail through "Pocket Outlook" on your Pocket PC.
http://mobile.msn.com/Default.aspx
Just click on the second section labeled "Get Pocket MSN."
Try HTTPMail Provider 1.0
While people had issues with this recently due to Microsoft changing the way MSN/Hotmail is accessed, this is still available for trial download to see whether or not it still works. (I just went with Pocket MSN to make sure I got this working from Microsoft directly.)

Web-based VGA msn/gmail clients ?

Hi there,
I've tried for the last few days to have working MSN (Windows live Messenger) and Gmail clients on my Diamond.
After investigations, the problem I have with this is due to the fact that my provider (France - SFR) does not allow msn protocol, as well as pop/imap. As a matter of fact, only HTTP and HTTPS are allowed.
The only way to get these working is to use web-based (HTTP 80) clients.
I've tried ebuddy and some others for msn, as well as the official gmail java client. Both are working, but fonts are very small, since both are designed for QVGA screens.
So here is my question: do you know msn/gmail WEB-based clients with VGA interface for WM ?
Thanks a lot !
For GMail you can just point your browser to http://m.google.com/mail.
I would seriously consider switching to another provider though... Only http? They are living on which planet?
hello
for gmail, opera 9.5 on the diamond is working perfectly, you don't even need to use the mobile version ... (igoogle is also working great by the way)
you can also use the mail2web solution.
I'm in france and with sfr too, I'm transferring all my emai from gmail to my mail2web account, then I use activesync to synchronise with the exchange server of mail2web (which is http...)
I then have all my gmail in outlook (in the touchflo3D interface) it's working great (can even work as push if you setup activesync in always connected... but the battery won't last long)
for msn, web messenger should work great... or we just wait that sfr release the sfr messenger for the diamond...

Yawn... search, search, search... I've explained the solution to this problem at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2426977&postcount=24 :
in a nutshell: double the values of HKCU\Software\JBlend\AMS_Font_Size, VM_Font_Size0, VM_Font_Size1, and VM_Font_Size2
Thanks.
@ Menneisyy: I searched a lot before posting, and my question was not about java-based apps only.
@ Andrax: Thanks for the tip, it's quite cool with mail2web. You can't answer with your genuine mail address, though... Don't understand why SFR blocks imap and pop. I tried messenger by sfr (qvga java version): does not seem to work with JBlend, did you try it?
the java machine installed on the diamond is not jblend... so what menneisvy is saying is not working as such...
maybe in his original post he explain which jblend java machine to install ...
let's search search search
You can go in the parameters of the gmail client to use a bigger font. It's still not that big, but it helps.
But since it is not designed for VGA and touchscreen, it is not that better than the classic online gmail app (what really bugs me is the first warning about the VM thinking the gmail app is not secure, and still the VM to request confirmation to use data connection, and no way (as far as I know) to tell it it's good once for all).

LOL - wouldn't know, I've been on Orange for a lifetime...
hello hantoucc
The gmail java app uses HTTP and HTTPS connectors. So it should work perfectly with SFR restriction.
Cheers

Opera 9.5 Outlook Web Access CookieAuth.dll

Hi
I have trouble opening my Outlook Web Access mail in Opera 9.5 on my HTC Diamond.
Opera only asks if i want to open or save a file called CookieAuth.dll
Its no problem opening Outlook Web Access in Opera 8.65 or Internet Explorer, but it does not work in Opera 9.5.
Anyone else who has the same problem??
it's not exactly a solution to your problem but i found a very nice software that allows you to download your OWA emails as if you had the settings from the server (very helpful in the case of companies not allowing off campus email access other than OWA). It's called emoze and works very nicely... try it...
OWA

Hi
I experience the same problem. Even with previous Opera 8.5 (?), for symbian S60 Nokia Communicator i was not able to get access to my webmail.
With Nokia I had to use Opera Mini 1.20, and with Qtek or HTC i find Netfront the best (as it is the only one that memorizes my login data)
I can also get the mail with IExplorer, but it is annoying to have to write my login data every time
Seems like it is a problem with Opera then. But i like Opera, so does anybody know a way to come around this problem and still use opera?

Am I missing something here... But can you not just configure Pocket Outlook to check your emails? If you have access to OWA then this is in essence what Pocket Outlook uses to fetch emails.
I would love to do that, but because i sync my other email account with outlook on my PC, I can't use pocket outlook to check my OWA account.
Or is it some way too do that???

Well as long as the 'other email account' is IMAP/POP enabled then you can just create a 'New Account' in Pocket Outlook. It will have its own folder structure e.g. Inbox, Sent, Deleted etc. Who is the provider of your other email account?
I've got my work email via MS Exchange and also have 2 other email accounts on there too- just like many other people on here I'm sure.
What you can't do (as far as I know) in Pocket Outlook is actually 'sync' more than one email account.
But you can't configure a outlook web acces account on pocket outlook, you have to use active sync to set it up on the diamond, or am i wrong?
And when i does that it says that i can't sync OWA mail because i already sync my other email account with Outlook on my PC.
Must be someway that you can sync two email accounts!
Yes, you can configure OWA with active sync and then you set up any other emails via IMAP/POP. If you dont have a data plan, then both of email accounts will update when you connect the device to your PC (using it's internet connection). This is exactly how I do it- Like I said, my work email (OWA/Exchange) is setup 'via active sync' and then I have configured my two other IMAP and POP3 email accounts.
What you need to do, is not 'sync' your Outlook on you PC but rather create a 'New Account' in Pocket Outlook, the end result is still exactly the same but this way you can have you OWA and Outlook email both on you device.
If you have a look at my screen capture, you will see I have the 'Outlook E-mail' which is my OWA/Exchange email. Then I have my Hotmail account and I also have one called 'Sunil Hirji', which is my personal IMAP(or POP3) account.
Just wonder if your problem has been resolved. I have got a HTC Touch HD the other day and I have encountered the same problem.
Yes me too. I have tried to sync using ActiveSync etc., but it doesn't appear to work.
Could anyone provide some screenshots showing how it should be set up. I have a feeling there is a setting server side that is preventing me from syncing using ActiveSync (have e-mailed the IT guys today).
Even if I could access using Opera it would be good, but I get the Cookie authorisation problem. Outlook Web Access works fine on a desktop so am at a loss .
Get it working?
A possible "workaround" for this is setting up "File Types" for opera. To do this, open the opera.ini file (depending on the version of opera you are using, may be in different locations on your device), mine was located in windows\opera9. Edit the file using a text editor that supports UTF 8 encoding.
There is a section in there titled [File Types] with some entries under it. After the last current entry, add the following lines:
application/x-msdownload=2,,,,,|
application/x-msdos-program=2,,,,,|
Save the file with these entries back to your mobile device. Soft reset your device.
These tell Opera to open the x-msdownload and x-msdos-program mime types directly in the browser, rather than trying to download them as files.
I classify this as a "workaround" rather than a solution, because there may be some security implications related to making this change (ie there must be a reason why opera is configured to not automatically open .dll files in the browser as the default setting), so proceed with caution and accept all risk!
Anyway, hope this helps...
You beauty!!!

OCR or any text scanner

Is there a app after you take a shot, to scann the text and transfer it to word?
I have heard for card scaner also, but I never find any of these apps?
Thanks
I just know of WorldCard Mobile for business card recognition...
Smart Reader
I have been waiting for smart reader from omnia but i havent found it yet.
Let me know if you have better luck!
Onenote
This is not a direct solution, but in my recently purchased Office 2007 pack, the OneNote component does business card recognition. You install onenote mobile on your phone, and Onenote 2007 on your PC. While in the field you take a picture of the business card, send to onenote, and then when you sync it's supposed to OCR the thing and let you shoot it to contacts.
Note that I haven't *tried* this yet, was just reading through the literature. Once I replace the back of my TyTn, which has a crack right through the camera lens, I do intend to give it a shot.
Omnipage 16 Pro will take any photo and OCR it in to any MS format (Word, Excel) and will make a PDF. It is pricey.

POP3 email Printing App?

What App do you need or how do you Print an email from a POP3 server over WiFi from your phone to your printer. I thought Cloud Print would do it(and it may) but not sure if I need a special Email App to do printing. Gmail is easy but I can't figure out how to print my wife's company email which is a POP3 server.
Thanks
I use printer share to print via wifi and have it set up to use via cloud

I have got Print Share and I have it setup to Cloud print and I can Print all kinds of things but I can't see how that my wife can Print her emails from her POP server with it. I guess there a setup I am missing somewhere can to take me though the Steps for Printing POP mail.
Thanks
Upon further review you can only print from gmail ....so maybe she can use the pop settings in gmail to forward her emails and then print them
sent from my ice cream Xoom.
go to email > share... > cloud print
