Isn't it pointless buying a diamond and the extended battery (with bigger back cover) as you will end up with a device the roughly same size as the Touch Pro but without a keyboard ?
I suppose it would still be lighter !
Reports are that the new offical 1340mA battery and cover is only 3mm thicker, so its still thinner then the Pro.

The Diamond + Extended Battery are still cheaper than a Touch Pro, and some of us don't really need a physical keyboard anyway.
I guess, but I suppose I was thinking more of the flexibility of SD micro and the couple of other small differences.
Diamond: 11mm
Diamond + Ext Batt: 14mm (or 13+ I think)
Touch Pro: 18mm
Still pretty thin compared to TP.
What about the time gain with the extended battery ??

ive just been looking at bigger batteries. and they a bit thicker. now it might just be me getting thicker but they seem to come with a case type looking thingy. is it the bigger the battery capacity the chunkier the battery

Generally thats right but there are some (slightly) higher capacity batteries than original, that are the same size as the original one - it depends how much more capacity you require.

The thicker batteries need a different battery cover otherwise they wont fit and this changes the style of the phone. I just use a combination of a spare standard thickness battery, travel charger and a HTC 3-in1 usb adapter to keep my TyTN II always up and running when out on my travels.

If we could make batteries twice the capacity in the same size don't you think that would already be used as standard?
There's a maximum of energy you can pack in a given size and/or weight, you'll find batteries that have a little more or a little less but it's usually not more than 10% difference. If it is, it's usually the manufacturer telling BS, like on pretty much all cheap "compatible" batteries you find for digital cameras etc on ebay. They will say that the battery has 30% more capacity than the original, and when you actually test it lasts half the time

that there is nuts, that could also apply to sd cadrs and the like, just because you can get bigger for the same dimensions doesnt mean theyll give it to you that would be nice thing to do
you kno the usb docking charger on amazon for 11 pound theres a space behind the phone is that for a second battery
actually ill get this moved
mine's bigger than yours
**sorry, had to be the first**
Hi there,
i recently bought a o2 Version of the Touch Diamond.
Now i would like to buy the standard Battery Cover BC S270 or the BP E270 1340 mAh Battery with the cover.
Can anyone confirm that it fits on my phone?
thx in advance
Draque
shurely doesn´t fit. o2 works on an own extended battery pack with big cover. but this won´t be available this year.
Are you sure?
Front side you cant even see a difference in shape or size. (unlike the mda version)
No no no no no no no no
It won't fit - believe me, I have tried.
thats bad
i hope we get a bettet accu as well.
where on the o2 site are informations about a o2 accu?
Anyone bought it?

I'm curious about how it will fit and if its secure.
I have this battery, and i found the fitting it not that good. I had to trim down some edges from the plastic cover to fit properly. Also the battery lifetime doesn't impress me much, so it's my backup battery now and the original will be my primal.
so is it a no buy? does it last???
man... I really wanted a long lasting battery
at last a 1 day without charge
I really use the phone a lot...
video, excel, internet, gps, games...
HD2 is a powerhouse and don't let me down (rick roll xD)
the only cons is the battery life.
=================
"lifetime doesn't impress me much"
it's really that bad? What do you think its the REAL capacity?
it's printed 2400mh...
You think it last 30% more than a original battery?
I was expecting to last 50% more at least...
I really doubt it is even 30%, i haven´t tested it thoroughly but i found that i was at the same percentage at the end of the day with the fat battery as with the orignal one. So i just have this fat battery with me in case of an ermergency or so. My original battery now last 3 days for me so i can deal with that, i don´t use it that often.
I would not buy it for a second time, even tho it is really cheap.
So why will they sell this huge brick and it is no better than the flat original battery? hmmmm... :-?
To make money, and it works
You can buy two spare standard batteries and charger for around $12US on ebay, and I find it quite easy to just have a charged spare in my pocket for when I am out and about, and one still on charge ready for when I get home in case I need it.
For me it has been an improvement. I have more protected the camra and now the life expectancy is slightly higher than 40%
size of ext.battery
Could anybody post a photo of HD2+ext.bat or write in mm width of exserted battery.
if you are honestly going the route of the ugly ugly extended battery back cover and all.. why not just get an official htc.. so quality wouldn't be an issue????
Because the HTC one still isn't available.

The width of the battery is 52mm the thickness is 10mm and the lenght is 45mm
I didn't buy the HTC extended battery but one from amazon sold by Karen Deals. Link is below

Shipping was lightning fast. Seller had it in the mail in 12 hours! Bought it on Wed and got it on Sat. Pretty good for being sent from across the continent (cali to minn).
Model No: cs-ht8585xl
Part No: 35h000128-00m, ba s400
Rating: 3.7v 2400mah
Lithium Ion
Battery
The new battery has the same width and length as the stock but the height has been doubled.
Case
Looks like it's made from ABS plastic with exterior (outside of phone direction) being coated with a 'soft plastic' layer. Feels cheap but doesn't seem like it will break.
The extended battery cover made by HTC looks much better than this one since the other one has a lot more curves. I don't like the fact that it just dips down at the top and bottom. It makes the cover seem like it didn't come with the phone unlike the HTC extended battery cover which curves and has a battery stand.
Would you reccomend this battery? What is your average battery life now? Minimal use, medium, or heavy usage?
Thanks in advance
Highly recommended. I had my phone turned on at 10am and ran it until 10pm and it's got 40% left after heavy/moderate use.
Hey, guys this battery is one of the newer ones found in Ebay. I took a stab and went for it as it was only 10 bucks. As you can see in the video this Quality of the construction is very good for a plastic cover. The cover and the device is flush on the sides, which is is perfect for me and ITS THINNER THAN OTHER ONES THAT I HAVE SEEN ON XDA. KICKstand is great too.
Take a look at the video.(incomplete due to the 256mb SDHC card )

Performance: Still testing the battery. Not sure how to, but I will recharge the battery with the device shut off and open up android to see how good the battery actually is. Seems like its using only the first half of the battery(16hrs with 80% left - I was listening to music, texing my cuz who was at bestbuy line for 55" LED Samsung, while I was at sears waiting in line till 1am . My cuz got the tv for 1500 so ) But I will try to recalibrate it.
The interesting thing was, when i first tested it, it was with mdjeejay 2.3 clean with NON EXTENDED Kernel. So, Im not sure whats going on there. (MAY BE ITS A FAKE)
But I kinda need help about testing the battery. Cause Im not really sure how to recalibrate it.

UPDATE: This battery works with any kernal available, whether or not the kernel supports extended battery does not seem to matter.
May i have link to it?
Thanks

I have both the official and this 2600mah/2400mah (advertised elsewhere) with kickstand. The kickstand will fall apart after a short time... The hinges that keep them in place are very weak. Mine broke in less than a week.
The battery life is very good and doesn't add much thickness to the phone. I would say the total thickness is about 15mm compared to 11mm of the phone without the extended battery. I do prefer this battery in some sense to the official one with kickstand as it is quite a bit thinner (guess about 18mm) however HTC OEM has a "real" kickstand...

Yes, I can use the HTC case with these 3rd party batteries but not vice versa as the HTC extended battery is thicker.
Another problem and mentioned on other threads the battery acts like 2 batteries. The controller is el-cheapo. Once you run out of juice, remove the battery and re-insert then you get another 50-60%+
but i have heard or read somewhere that you could calibrate the battery somehow to make android show the whole battery percentage. Any idea how?
